The Saragossa Inn is off the beaten path in a quiet residential neighborhood just a few steps from everything you want to do and see in Saint Augustine's Historic District. The Inn has plenty of off-street parking, so once you arrive you won't need to move your car for your entire visit. The Saragossa began life as a 1924 Sears Craftsman Bungalow that has expanded over the passage of time and now houses two guest suites and four guest rooms, all with private entrances and private baths. The layout of the Saragossa will allow you all the privacy you want, yet is small enough for you to receive all the attention you need. The Saragossa is charming and romantic, quaint and comfortable, relaxing and revitalizing. Rest in a room that will pamper you and your spirit. Awake to a three-course breakfast served with the gracious hospitality you expect when choosing a Bed and Breakfast such as the Saragossa Inn.

We have been to Saint Augustine a few times now and this was our second Bed and Breakfast experience near Downtown. I won't name the first B&B because their room was very very nice and the house was filled with antiques and had a quiet, peaceful ambiance, but the Saragossa Inn took all of that charm and added a 3 course breakfast! Seriously, I never thought dessert was so important for breakfast until it was prepared for me and served in the attic of an amazing 1940s Craftsman. The attic is actually a fitting space for serving breakfast and gave us a chance to chat with some of the other guests about their experiences around town. The best part was the price for this room, in all the research I had done looking for a reasonable yet quality B&B, I came across the Saragossa Inn website. I had been through nearly 20 before I found the Saragossa and they were offering discounts on their rooms for the time period I was looking for. So I got an amazing deal on the Southwind Room, which I highly recommend for the privacy, front porch access and huge 4 post bed you can get lost in. It's still within a 3 minute walk of St George street and maybe 10 minute walk to the Lightner Museum and everything down King St. We will be back to Saint Augustine in the next year or two, and Im hoping the Saragossa Inn will be able to accommodate us.

We had a nice getaway at the Saragossa Inn. Excellent location, and service. Breakfast was tasty, and the rooms were clean. The decor is a little old fashioned, and not my taste, but it was kept nice and the bed was comfortable.
Thank you for your comments about our B&B. The décor is most definitely “old fashioned!” Our designer works with an eclectic blend of antique and reproduction furnishings to give our home the feeling of a by-gone era. Some of our rooms, including the bathrooms, have been renovated to reflect the vintage feel of our 1924 Sears Craftsman home which sits in the heart of our nation’s Oldest City. Our tag line reads, “Old World Ambiance, Turn of the Century Elegance, Timeless Romance…..”

This was our first time and we didn't really know what to expect. It was only 1 night but it was fabulous.

I reserved this room b/c they allowed a one night stay and also the room had a king size bed which could be separated from the small entry way where the day bed was located. It was a great set-up for the father-daughter weekend my dad and I had. I was disappointed that we were not greeted by the hosts/owners. The young girl that served breakfast the next morning and checked us out was not the kind of professional I would have expected. Nevertheless, it was worth the expense!
Our B&B is family owned and run. So you were, indeed, greeted by THE host/owners. Our home may not look, from the street, like the B&B you have in your mind. And our family may not look like whatever pre-conceived notions you may have about what Innkeepers should look like. But nowhere else will you be treated with more kindness and have hosts who care more about your stay than our family at the Saragossa Inn.

Bathroom could have been cleaner or was stained ?.... a bit old and needs to be renovated. Rooms were nicely appointed and cool air! Brunch is excellent!
All of our bathrooms have received a complete or partial make-over. These remodels have been done to keep our baths looking appropriate for our 1924 Sears Craftsman home. We have kept a few of the original cast iron tubs. They may not be sparkling white but they are deep and roomy!

We spent a Friday and a Saturday night a Saragossa Inn and were very pleased overall. Our hosts were very accommodating and helped with directions, extra towels, and allowed us to park our motorcycle under a canopy usually reserved for employees(it rained the day we arrived). The food for breakfast was good and served hot and timely. The location is only about 2 blocks from St George Street which is the heart of historic St Augustine. Everything of interest was easy walking distance from the B&B or you can take any one of several trolleys within easy walking distance. Looking forward to a return stay at Saragossa B & B soon.

About 3 quaint blocks to Old Town. Breakfast was different each morning, prepared when you were seated. Breakfast staff did a super job. Quiet room. Super service from grounds staff and innkeeper. Take the Old Town Trolley Tours and book sights through them to save money. All of our meals were in Old Town.

We have been there before and the food is excellent, can't beat there 3 course breakfast. while there rooms are nice and the bed comfortable, the only disappointment was the room was very dusty. on the furniture, plants and especially floor , under the bed was little to much. but I know this can be resolved and I would stay there again.
Thank you for your comments about our home. There has been road construction in our neighborhood just to the west of us and two doors to the east of us several buildings were being demolished and reconstructed. Although our city deserves credit for making the disturbance minimal, our neighborhood has been very dusty. We have tried to keep up with this but it appears we haven’t been completely successful. The good news is that the construction projects will be over in a few days. We do take housekeeping seriously and hope this won’t be an issue for our guests again!
The king-sized canopy bed enveloped in golden sheers sets the tone for this romantic room. The high ceilings and hardwood floors, along with the wet bar in the entry room, creates an atmosphere for unwinding and relaxing. If there is a third person in your party, SOUTHWIND can accommodate them with a cozy daybed in the entry room. Feel the south wind at your back, guiding you toward contentment.
The elegant, hand-carved mahogany queen-sized Tester bed sets the tone for high drama and deep romance in this spacious room that includes a wet bar. HOMEWOOD is a two room suite. The second room holds a full-sized East Lake bed. This suite can accommodate up to four guests. The stunning ceiling and oversized tear drop chandelier adds to the ambience that makes you feel at home.
PALMBREEZE is light and airy with a queen-sized four poster bed that adds romance to the room with it's dark, intricate carvings. The dark wood beams on the ceiling, the hardwood floors and the artwork of Florida water birds will take you back to a warm sunny Florida that existed only in days gone by. Feel the breeze that makes the palms sway.
The queen-sized sleigh bed and the antique armoire set the tone for the country feel of this comfortable room. Nestled around the bed and antique desk, greenery abounds. The cozy bathroom allows just enough room for a relaxing shower. The room seems peaceful and still, and .......there on the evening breeze is that faint sweet smell of honeysuckle.
Remember on summer weekends when you stole off to your grandma's beach cottage? Grandma didn't have a beach cottage, well......pretend. The heavily carved king-sized four poster bed, the twin-door antique armoire, the claw-foot tub and the vintage "kitchenette" will take you to that romantic weekend at the beach. And just before you fall asleep......you'll swear you can hear the quiet sound of the surf.
GARDENMIST is stately and a bit formal. The king-sized bed and the surrounding room are washed in the sheer color of a morning mist lying across a romantic English garden. The room is spacious with an entry hall wet bar, bath with shower and lots of muted morning light. The garden mist is beginning to clear and will reveal a wonderful day.
