Great Weekend Getaway

4.6 on December 16, 2017

Spent two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday and see the Christmas Lights. Casa de Solana has a great location right in the middle of the Historic District... everything is in walking distance! The hosts are super friendly and the breakfast is a gourmet style meal... the best we've had at a B&B! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

Great location

We were treated like family from the minute we arrived. If you want to shop, visit historical sites, or just relax this is the place to stay. Loved the staff and I wish we could have stayed longer. The courtyard is awesome!!

Excellent bed and breakfast

This was my first time ever staying at a B&B. I was pleasantly surprised. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The gardens were pretty, quiet and inviting. I do believe the bar has been set high for any future stay at a B&B. Breakfast was very tasty

Our Fantastic Night at the Casa de Solana

5 on June 19, 2017

We had booked a room "The British Suite" to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. It was a very private room tucked away in the attic of this beautiful, quaint and charming colonial Bed & Breakfast. Upon arrival we were personally met and greeted by the inn keeper in the driveway. Basically we were treated like VIPs. We parked in the front pick-up/drop-off area while we took signed in, received our key and a well detailed map of the old city. We took our bag upstairs then parked our car in the designated lot just a few short blocks away. Walking back to the Solana through the cobblestone streets was a walk back in time. We had dinner in an outside café close to the Solana. We walked over to the bay and caught a horse and carriage. We didn't remember the driver's name but the horse's name was Duane. He reminded us of Mr. Ed. He might not of talked but he must have had an IQ of 120 or above and a personality like a human. The ride was so relaxing. By the time we were dropped right in front of the Solana we felt like we had an hour massage. We went upstairs to our very large. There was a decanter with what we thought was red wine but were we surprised. It was more like cognac with the most delightful taste ever. There was a gigantic triangle shaped bathtub in one portion of the room. Very relaxing! The king size bed was like a gigantic pillow. We didn't actually get to sleep till 4am but the sleep we had felt like we slept all night. We both woke up refreshed and ready to go downstairs and enjoy breakfast. In the dining area we were cordially welcomed by Drew and Nice and also the other guests that spent the night there. Drew served us fresh fruit and Nice served us a truly gourmet plate of delicious items she personally made. There was several kinds of coffee, many kinds of premium teas to choose from, several different cereals, grits with butter and many other things. The inn keepers are genuinely friendly and the service was A1. We will definitely be returning.

It is a Gem !

I had a misunderstanding with my reservation and Jeff has gone out of his way to make it wonderful. These people really want to help! Breakfast was phenomenal! My wife and I will be returning soon.

First Time B&B Guests

4.8 on September 17, 2016

For a weekend getaway, we chose to stay at this B&B. This was our first B&B experience. The staff made us feel welcome; it was like coming home to family. As for the breakfast, the word "amazing" does not do it justice. Each meal we had was well planned and full of flavor. This B&B is centrally located and within walking distance to all the main attractions in St. Augustine and minutes from the beach access points. The B&B also provides parking to all guest, which is rare in the City. Highly recommended.

Good Location, Average Accomodations

3.4 on September 06, 2016

Location is centrally located. Our room was just average. It was clean but nothing special. Lighting was harsh, mattress needs replaced (putting a memory foam topper on top does not constitute a new mattress). I now have a pinched nerve in my back because of the mattress being too soft. No robes. Stingy with bath products/lotion. For an Inn advertising for couples/romance, it is all but. No music in the sitting or breakfast areas except for head banging music one morning. Breakfast was just ok. It seemed like it was prepared first thing in the morning, then served throughout the AM instead of cooked to order waffles, eggs, etc. At least cereal and breads were also available. We toured a couple other B&Bs in the area while in St. Augustine, and they were night and day better. The grounds of this property have lots of potential, but lack attention and landscaping. The staff were friendly and helpful. Cathy was a pleasure.

Makes St. Augustine shine

4.8 on May 30, 2016

What a great B&B! Suite was really. Ice, all the expected amenities & services there. The breakfasts were stellar. Service during breakfast really well done. The B&B is quiet, in a quiet area, and a very short walk to 4 nice sidewalk cafés / restaurants. We consider the Casa de Solana to now be a destination - we will return just to stay at the B&B.

Anniversary
