We found our way back to the Addison on Amelia after 16 years. Kids and life had gotten in the way. The owners, Bob and Shannon, along with their talented staff made us feel right at home. They welcomed us with tremendous charm and provided us with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Our second floor private room (#14) with queen 4 post bed, jacuzzi tub and private balcony offered us the perfect sanctuary of privacy and comfort as we enjoyed the weekend activities associated with the Annual Shrimp Festival and the 10's of thousands of who attend. We started each day with yummy breakfasts prepared by Bob (I know...I watched him prepare them early two mornings in a row!) and ended each day with a happy hour that satisfied everyone. We're can't wait to get back to the Addison on Amelia to do it all over again!

Last minute for our 10 year anniversary we decided to come to Fernandina Beach and chose The Addison. They were wonderful! Everyone was polite, and accommodating to our needs. The inn keeper was very knowledgeable about the area and on what to do in town. The breakfast was delicious. If you have dietary needs they will accommodate to your needs. There were beverages and snacks to take at your leisure. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. HAPPY HOUR everyday with wine and beer of your choice. We could not have asked for a more amazing and relaxing experience for our 10 year anniversary.

We thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay at the Addison. The main house and other buildings are beautifully decorated. The location is great- just steps away from excellent dining and shopping in the historic district. Breakfasts are delicious and very filling! We enjoyed happy hour with wine, beer, and appetizers while mingling with the other guests and the innkeepers. We enjoyed use of bicycles, beach towels and beach chairs at no extra charge. We will encourage our friends and family to visit the island and to stay at the Addison!

I was looking for a quaint romantic destination to elope. After enless hours of research and reading guest reviews I decided on spending our week at the Addison on Amelia. It exceeded every expectation. Bob, Shannon and Leigh are very warm and welcoming. Be prepared to gain a couple pounds as the breakfasts and happy hour appetizers are phenominal. The B&B is immaculate and decorated beautifully. The Historic District is within walking distance and offers great shopping and wonderful restaurants. The only regret I had is that we did not book our trip for longer than 5 days. We will definitely be back. Thank you Bob and Shannon for making our week so special. Richard and Mary Cacciatore

My Wife and I were given a 1 night stay at The Addison by some friends as a wedding gift. We ended up using it for my wife's 30th Birthday weekend getaway. Even before I arrived at The Addison the staff was more than helpful over the phone, and once we arrived they continued to overly impress my wife and myself. From the extremely polite and happy staff and owners, to the amazing breakfasts that were served every morning with a smile, The Addison created raving fans with us. The only thing that makes me want to keep it to myself is so there will be an open room for my next trip. Great place, great location, great people!

This was our first experience at a B&B . It was amazing! The food was great and Bob and his team showed so much hospitality. You felt comfortable as soon as you walked in. The room was very clean and cozy to stay in. The location is great right next to downtown restraunts. I would love to visit again!

My boyfriend found this place for our vacation, and he based his pick on the positive reviews he found here on TripAdvisor (and other sites). We now add our kudos to this ever-growing list of happy (may I add 'charmed') travelers. The Innkeepers (Bob & Shannon) have created an environment of simple elegance, thoughtful detail and genuine warmth. Staying here was an experience; a perfect balance of having a 'home-base' connection while exploring each moment your own way. Our room was perfect! We loved that it's a "Green" (all organic sheets, towels, eco-friendly stuff, etc). Neither of us had stayed in a more peaceful, beautifully decorated and thought-filled room before. And the FOOD! Outstanding cuisine and presentation, with Bob (or daughter Lee) as our ever-attentive server(s). This family has done everything right with this Inn, knowing what is most important; not only to travelers but to, well, PEOPLE. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there. Thank you, Addison, for a trip we'll never forget!

We had never been to Amelia Island before and really did not know what to expect. I did know that I wanted to relax and just slow down and mellow out. The B&B was as important to me as the destination. The Addisom on Amelia far exceeded my expectations. The room was large and comfortable. Great porch and rockers. Coming from South Florida, we loved sitting and reading in front of the fireplace. Bob and Shannon proved to be excellent hosts. They were very helpful in giving us tips about the island and restaurant recommendations, (but It seemed as though every restaurant was better than the next). And who would believe that a "simple" breakfast in a B&B could be as good as any restaurant. Each day, the breakfasts and happy hour snacks outdid the last. Not to mention all the little things, not missed when they aren't there, but we noticed and appreciated them. Oh yeah, Amelia Island was nice too. Howard H.

Just spent a wonderful 3 days being spoiled and thoroughly enjoying it! Shannon and Bob were wonderful hosts in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed different and delicious breakfasts every day. Everything we wanted to do was a short walk. We particularly liked the walking tour of historical homes, the water tour around Cumberland Island, and the Amelia Island Museum. We will be back.
