This is a clean, friendly place to stay. Well located to public transportation. Jack, our host, was particularly helpful.

I have stayed here several times and wouldn't even look for anywhere else in DC. Jack provides a home from home with a living room, one big dining room table and tea, coffee, snacks available all day long. It's easy to meet the other guests and make friends. Location is also excellent - near the metro and a range of restaurants.

This is the place to stay if you want to immerse yourself in a NW D.C. neighborhood. Several restaurants/cafes/bars are within walking distance plus the zoo and two metro stops. We were immediately welcomed upon our arrival and made to feel at home.

For the last several summers our business requirements have presented a trip to Washington DC. Each time we go we look forward to staying at the Kalorama guesthouse with this host/owner Jack. His attention to detail and gregarious nature always add to the enjoyment of these trips. We Harley suggest you take it vantage of this opportunity when traveling to this region.

The Kalorama Guest House, owned and operated by Jack Shrestha, is a gem in the heart of our nation's capital. My wife and I have been guests at Jack's place for quite a few years and always considerate it the first priority to secure a reservation when knowing that either business or pleasure are going to take us to DC. The warm and consistently friendly atmosphere, the homey ambience and more than ample breakfasts make staying with Jack a pleasure as opposed to a sterile hotel.

I first selected this inn due to it's location near the red line on the metro. It's really easy to get around. The inn is in a great neigbourhood with a fine italian resraurant just minutes away and more choices a little further. The room I've stayed in (same room each time) is comfortable and perfect for one person. Breakfast is fantastic and when you get back at the end of the day, wine and cookies will greet you in the lobby. :D

Kalorama Guest House was a great choice for my wife and I on our visit to DC. Everything was just as we expected, and Jack, the host, could not have been more helpful and friendly. He made it seem as though we stayed with an old friend, in an quaint historic house, that just happened to be located in a perfect location to visit DC. If you're wanting everything brand new, modern, and with all the fancy bells and whistles - see an over-priced high end chain. If you want a personal, friendly, decent, great location place to see Washington from - I highly recommend Jack and the Kalorama Guest House.

The host, Jack, is friendly, helpful, and gracious. The Guest House is quiet and restful, in a lovely residential section of DC. It's near transportation and restaurants. The "continental" breakfast was more than adequate - Jack cooked some hot food each morning.

Jack and his staff were super nice and accommodating. It was a bit like staying with extended family. He gave us complimentary beer and wine and invited us for conversation among friends. Such a beautiful home and neighborhood.
