We recently spent four nights at a Coral Hill Bungalow. The compound is surrounded by a tall wooden gated fence and the owner has a dog with a big bark, so we felt very secure. The property is in the jungle so there are numerous animals and birds that can be heard and seen, plus the landscaping is beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast is freshly made from local fruits, vegetables, and breads and extremely well presented with explanations of what is being served. The bungalows, although not air conditioned, are very comfortable with a constant breeze and ceiling fan. Not having air conditioning allows for the enjoyment of the jungle sounds. The bungalows are very clean, well furnished, and provided with extra touches such as fresh flowers. Joe, the owner, was very helpful and took the time to provide historical information and useful tips for how best to enjoy our stay. Several restaurants and a beach are very close, Cahuita is a little bit longer walk but has many more restaurants plus the beach along the park, and Puerto Viejo and Manzanilla are within easy driving distance. We would definitely stay at the Coral Hills Bungalows again.

The stay exceeded all expectations, from Breakfast to Accommodations everything was amazing. The owners were friendly and nice, assisted with local attraction information, and made us feel most welcome. The Bungalows had all of the needed amenities from a safe and hairdrier to Hammock and candles. Would definitely stay at this place again.

Coral Hill Bungalows was a lovely retreat away from the bustle of San Jose. The location was very convenient to lots of activities, including lounging on the beach, but also horseback riding, a couple of national parks, and a couple of animal refuges. Everything was clean and the hosts did a great job of accommodating us. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and our room had all the modern amenities one could need. We especially enjoyed feeling as if we were sleeping in the jungle, but those who are particularly sensitive to noise may be disturbed at night. We had our white noise machine with us, which my partner cannot sleep without in any setting, and we were fine, even through a downpour on our last night.

Clean rooms with an eye for detail, delicious breakfast with local ingredients, wonderful hosts who help with anything you need. The property is beautiful and well cared for, but still kept natrual so that we could see frogs, toucans, a sloth and many birds. Definitely recommended!

Three cabins and the main owners house are all beautifully built of wood, all separated by a lush tropical garden all situated behind the wooden fence and gate with ample parking within the compound. You can enjoy the sound of birds in the morning and in the afternoon as well as howling of monkeys either from your own bed as all the window opening are screened and you have an open air feeling, or from the swinging armchairs or hammock from the cabin porch. You can watch butterflies, humming birds, dragon flies, little black-green frogs or cautious pacas walking or flying right in front of you. The entire place is immaculate and tranquil. Hosts are good friendly people with a lot of information about the area and Costa Rica in general. You feel welcome in their home. Breakfasts is exquisitely arranged with fresh flowers from the garden. Of course the substance is first class, variety of artisan breads, fresh fruit and different omelet flavor each day. Juice is freshly prepared and of course all the other ingredients are there, coffee, tea, marmalade etc. Nearby beach is close and Cahuita village and National Park are within a walking range. Place well worth staying at.

We stayed for four nights. We had an incredible time. Their property is absolutely beautiful and Chris and Joe were very helpful and attentive to our needs and very knowledgeable about the local plants, animals and insects. Their morning breakfasts were delicious and covered all the local fruits and recipes. We had one dinner prepared by them which was one of the best meals I've ever had. They gave us great recommendations on local places to go. The location is perfect where you can walk to restaurants, the beach and the national park. This place is highly recommended!

Our two nights at Coral Hills were amazing. The bungalows are clean, comfortable and gorgeous. The grounds are so lush that you feel total and complete privacy. We availed ourselves of Joe's gourmet dinner one night and it was delightful, as were the breakfasts. Cahuita is a tremendous contrast to the highly developed Pacific Coast, much more laid back. We will be back again, for sure! Bruce & Barbara

We stayed at Coral Hill Bungalows for 5 nights in February 2015. Everything about our stay was excellent. The bungalow was immaculate. It was serviced every day and this high standard was maintained every day. The Breakfast was outstanding, lots of very fresh fruit and eggs. Chris and Joe were fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Whatever you wanted to do they could help you with and we found their recommendations to be excellent. We would highly recommend staying at the property and we would definitely return.

We enjoyed the peaceful scenery (and yes, the sounds of the jungle are part of that) as well as the extraordinary hospitality of Chris and Joe very much. Things to be remembered most: The marvelous breakfast and the tiny little black and green frogs.
