The chalet and its window views was very aesthetically pleasing. It is surrounded by mountains in Salida. If you want well maintained and privacy this is a great place. There is easy access to town from there too. I'd definitely return. Very peaceful stay.

We loved our room and the house. It was a convenient, easy place to stay.

Our party booked several nights at the Tudor Rose, where we have stayed before. On the edge of town and up the hill, it's the best place to stay in Salida, which mostly features chain motels along a busy highway. We enjoyed the quiet property with lots of trees. Our lower-level room was comfortable and cool at night without AC or even the ceiling fan. The inn owners are very attentive and can recommend local hiking trails and sights. Fresh fruit at breakfast was very good and conversation with other guests is always lively. The decor could use an update with light, fresh colors and less brown.

Tudor Rose is a very lovely place tucked away in the mountains around Salida CO. The hosts are very friendly, rooms spacious, and great deck to enjoy.

It was everything I expected and more. Very generous host nice rooms beautiful property wonderful breakfast. I did have one complaint. I left the window open instead of using the in room AC....7:00am the barking dog started and lasted well over 30 minutes. This dog stays on the property but other than that it would have been perfect. I would and will return. Thanks John for a great stay

The stay was wonderful. The facility and our room was wonderful. Beautifully appointed, convenient, comfortable. You really couldn't ask for more. The breakfast will spoil you. They are creative, interesting, very tasty. The food was outstanding. Finally Jon and Terre are truly great people. Very personable, clearly enjoy what they are doing at the Tudor Rose. Will definitely stay here the next time as well.

Great customer service. The owners are very helpful with any inquiries of the town. It was very quiet, very clean, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was excellent and if you get a chance, I would recommend trying one of her home baked cookies! They were delicious! It was very close to downtown Salida and cab service was speedy especially for it being New Year Eve.

Away from the highway and busy town, but 'a minute' away. Very quiet, clean and comfortable room, delightful hosts, pretty setting, and substantial breakfast. Highly recommend this B&B!

This is a great B&B. The area is fantastic. We loved not only the B&B, but the surrounding area. We took full advantage of the [rough] walking trails around the property. Spectacular views. The room was VERY comfortable and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast was DELICIOUS. We will definitely be returning to this B&B.

For some reason the website would not allow me to mark our stay with "outstandings". That is how it should be. My hubby and I were at the Rose May 22 to 25. Wanted a place for relaxing and enjoying just being together. The facility is beautiful and in a quiet out of town spot. Jon and Terre are wonderful hosts. Great food. We had the Queen Elizabeth Suite. It had a large bedroom, a sitting room and a huge bath. It is was in the basement and I could hear people walking around above us. It wasn't loud, but it bothered me. Next time we may opt for an upstairs room or maybe a chalet. Salida is a fun, artsy town. The Arkansas river is just a big creek running through town. To the west are the mountains with lots of hiking and skiing. Every day we took a picnic lunch up to Monach Pass. Gorgeous scenery. This was the second trip to the Rose and we plan to return maybe next year.

We had an issue with the shower, but we mentioned it as we were checking out, and the owner was fixing it before we'd even left. Very nice people; beautiful area. Nice grounds for a nature walk. We can highly recommend this B&B.

This b and b is on a beautiful and quiet piece of land with wonderful views of the mountains. The hosts were friendly and informative. The bed was a bit hard for my husband but I thought it was fine (hence the 3 for rooms). Breakfast was delicious.

We stayed at the chalets for a girls' weekend. It was a really nice place; very quiet and great location. It had just the right amount of room. Terre and Jon are very nice and great hosts. I would stay there again.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Tudor Rose while in Salida for some skiing. What a wonderful place to stay! Everything about the B&B is well thought out and professionally cared for. The rooms are lovely and well-maintained. Every convenience is available or already taken care of. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious, and Jon and Terré are fantastic, genuine, gracious hosts! We could not have been more delighted with our stay! 110 out of 100 stars!!

My daughter and I spent two nights at the Tudor Rose. We absolutely loved our room. The B&B's setting is beautiful and so quiet, yet close to Salida. Terrie and John are fantastic hosts. The breakfasts were tasty and well-prepared. A cut above the "usual" eggs and/or waffles. We definitely intend to return, hopefully for three nights next time.

Enjoyed a one-night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The room was romantic, spacious, and quiet. The main house was beautiful, aw were the grounds surrounding the house. Enjoyed both afternoon tea and morning coffee on the back deck, while watching hummingbirds. We will be back!

Needed a place for just one night and wishing we could have stayed longer. House was comfortable and the room spotless. The owners were easy to reach, very hospitable and friendly. I would have enjoyed walking the grounds/trails around the house if we had more time. Really liked having refreshments out all day and night and the fresh baked cookies in the evening. Really nice touch!

The Tudor Rose B&B is the nicest B&B I have ever stayed in! John and Terre (the owners) are fantastic. They were extremely accommodating to our dietary needs. Thanks for the delicious Gluten Free breakfast! We stayed with our horses - their paddocks are spotless and safe for horses. Even a big turn around for our "rig". Thanks again for your hospitality, service and making us feel so at home! We are coming back! Marguerite, Lisa & Terry

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at the Tudor Rose B&B. The room was comfortable and perfect for us. We loved the delicious breakfast and enjoyed the walk around the grounds. Terre and Jon were wonderful hosts and took great care of us. We loved our visit and look forward to a return.

My recent visit to the Queen Elizabeth Suite of the Tudor Rose B&B was a complete success. The property is gorgeous (don't forget to take one of the walking sticks provided at the door if you set out on the flagged hike!), and the accommodations in the suite are wonderful. All details have already been catered to by the innkeepers. Want to drink a glass of wine? Grab glasses from the cupboard in the common area. Want to watch a movie? Consider the selection provided in the lounge. My thoroughly enjoyable stay wrapped up with a wonderful breakfast (the zucchini nut bread was fabulous; pairing it with fresh fruit, Eggs Benedict, and homefries was deliciously decadent!) that sent me on my way completely satisfied. The next time you're in Salida, don't miss the Tudor Rose.
5 on July 14, 2014
This place if great. The Inn Keepers are very nice and accomodating. The whole bnb is very clean and inviting. Close to town but seems to be miles away in another world since so private and quiet. My room was the perfect retreat and the same price as a generic hotel room in the city. I can't wait to go back again.
5 on June 30, 2014
Nice quiet place to relax. Very clean and close enough to town.
4.2 on June 18, 2014
Quiet location only a mile from Salida. Well appointed rooms, good housekeeping service, ample breakfasts. There is even a short hiking path on the property. If you are visiting Salida we highly recommend the Tudor Rose. Phil, Wooster, Ohio

Wonderful stay at the Tudor Rose. The suite was like having our own little apartment with a private brick patio. Loved the great hiking trail, excellent breakfast with the opportunity to visit with other guests. All accommodations were very superb, relaxing and quiet. Thanks to Jon and Terre for a wonderful B&B!
4.8 on May 14, 2014
This is a wonderful B&B. The owners are hospitable, take care of your needs, and make gourmet breakfasts. We stayed in the Lancaster room...which we think is the hidden treasure room. Great view of the mountains and the moon was right above us through the skylight. We're already looking at getting a couple of friends to stay in their chalets. This is a place not to miss.
4.2 on May 10, 2014
The overall experience was great. Our only regret is staying in the one room that was too small to accomodate comfortable seating. The seating provided in our room consisted of 2 folding chairs forcing us to spend most of our time in the common areas. The owners were very attentive and friendly.
5 on May 08, 2014
This was our second time staying at TRBB and it was excellent again. Our hosts were gracious, the chalet was super clean and well-stocked, the views and solitude were wonderful. Thank you, Terr' and Jon, for your exceptional accommodations and service. Cheers! .

We had a wonderful stay at the Tudor Rose~Our hosts, Jon and Terre, were very gracious and made us fell welcome from the start. Not knowing quite what to expect before we arrived, we were very pleased to find beautiful and comfort accommodations in our room as well as the rest of the B & B. Our stay in the spacious Henry Tudor Suite was lovely and there were many thoughtful amenities in the room. The common rooms on the main floor were also very nice, with quiet space for reading, watching TV or any number of other activities you might enjoy. It was a little cool to enjoy the deck out back, but it was beautiful and I'm sure would be lovely at warmer time. We also had a nice walk on the beautiful 37 acre property. The Tudor Rose is a well maintained property and very clean inside and out. Another plus is the close proximity to Salida where there are a number of good places for dining, shopping and other activities. Our time there was very relaxing and completely stress free. We would highly recommend the Tudor Rose B & B to anyone and hope to be able to return ourselves as well.

My family could not have had a better time in the Salida area and staying at Tudar Rose's Chalets made the experience that much better. We will definitely be staying here again. All the comforts of home and plenty of room for all 4 of us. The grounds we’re excellent, well maintained and the kids could not get enough of the hiking trail. Peace and far away from the hustle and bustle of larger cities. There is so much to do in the area and coming back to the Tudar Rose after a day of exploring, it just felt like home.

This is the best place to stay in Salida. Nice room, great food, wonderful grounds. Also, they have chalets (for family stays at a reasonable price), and room to board horses!!! The common areas are relaxing places to talk, or read a book. Etc.

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Tudor Rose for our honeymoon. We loved having a hot tub in our room and waking up to a delicious breakfast! Jon and Terre were so sweet and were very helpful with recommendations around town. We enjoyed taking a hike around their property and seeing the old homestead. There are many fun activities to do in and around town. We highly recommend the Tudor Rose and we can wait to go back! ~Nick & Becky H.

The Tudor Rose is a lovely place, and a labor of love. The hosts are friendly, but not overly so, and it is obvious they are devoted (and have been for 19 years!) to creating a welcoming, peaceful environment. The rooms on the upper floor of the lodge have excellent views, and are quiet. The public spaces are comfy - especially The Wolf Room! There is a deck out back, which is a great place to hang out with a cup of morning coffee, and a hot tub for relaxing. Downtown Salida is only five minutes away. I generally book a motel in town, but staying at the Tudor Rose was a treat, and a welcome change from the typical motel environment. Chalets look good, too, if you are traveling with a pet, or entourage. I wished for complimentary wine in the afternoon, but that was not to be. The homemade cookies were awesome! Breakfast was adequate, and nicely prepared, but seemed a tad meager. Highly recommend the Tudor Rose for a romantic getaway, or retreat from the rat race!

tudor Rose is an elegant B&B located in a quiet and beutiful setting perfect for leaving the busy world behind. Jon and Terre' Terrell were gracious and friendly hosts. Sitting on the quiet deck with views and hummingbirds was so restful. Breakfast was delicious and conversation with fellow travelers ended our stay with fond memories.

The Salida area offers a wide variety of opportunities for fun, from high country Jeep/ATV trails to river rafting to hiking and more. Jon & Terre' have a wonderful place, with on-property hiking trails, friendly atmosphere and great food, too! We enjoyed three nights at Tudor Rose for a week long high county Jeep trip. Thanks Jon & Terre', for making our stay a trip highlight.

We arrived at Tudor Rose on a dreary afternoon but decided to take a quick stroll around the 3/4 mile trail on the property. About halfway through our walk the sky dumped huge amounts of rain on us. By the time we got back to the house we were soaked. Hosts Jon and Terre' had been watching our progress and thoughtfully met us at the door with big, fluffy towels. That was not expected! The accommodations were wonderful; breakfast and snacks were fresh and beautifully presented. They are definitely a class act and we'd be happy to return for another stay.

We have stayed twice at the Tudor Rose's in one of the Chalet and have thoroughly enjoyed our time there. John and Terre' were friendly and professional. The chalet was spacious enough for two couples, comfortable, super-clean, and suited us well.

If it is rare to find an English style cottage in the middle of the Colorado mountains, it is more amazing finding this magnificent place, these good people cater to us with such an ease, they make it look simple! the rooms are so comfy you'll want to live there, when we got back from dinner, we went into the hot tub, they provided robes, for us, we went to bed smiling, and woke up to a great breakfast. we felt at home! Thank you for your great service!

We didn't rate the food here as we were in a chalet and didn't eat with the bed and breakfast group. This was our second time to rent one of the chalets, and each time was great. John and Terre do a fine job, and we will go back. Salida is also a fun place, and we went to Noah's Ark for a river trip with our grandsons--first rate!

We took a trip to Salida as a quiet getaway and got exactly that. This property was beautiful, and quiet! We enjoyed the wildlife including the hummingbirds and the deer that were roaming outside. My husband and I decided on the Henry Tudor Suite which was very good size, and had a hot tub in the room! The breakfast was very tasty and the folks running the place couldn't have been nicer. I highly recommend this for your next stay and will be going back myself for sure!

My husband and I stayed at the Tudor Rose for only one night as we were just passing through town on our journey to the Four Corner States and Santa Fe, NM. Our hosts were warm and attentive and made us feel as if we were their only guests, which we were not. Our acomodation was spotless and the beds were very cozy and inviting. The shower was enormous. Breakfast was home made stuffed French toast, fresh fruit, juice, milk and plenty of coffee. Coffee and cookies were available in the evening. My only regret is that we didn't have a lengthier stay.

Everything was so clean, so comfortable and we wanted for nothing - except help with working the Dish TV!!! Thank you Jon! It is a lovely area with beautiful views. We did not dine at the bed & breakfast, as we stayed in a chalet. Chalet #1 was beautiful. Our hosts were very nice. We had a slight leak at the kitchen sink and it was fixed immediately. The loft was wonderful and the layout was perfect for 3 people. Might want to consider a trip to IKEA for a few things for the kitchen, such as a potato masher, coffee scoop, dish rags (we had dish towels only), etc. Could also use an extra roll of paper towels, some sugar/sweetener and other traditional things in the kitchen in case the guests want to cook. Salt and pepper was all that was there. We did enjoy our time just to rest and relax.

Found this Gem online, Came in from Calif. for a 2 day dirt bike ride. Not knowing the area I did a little research and booked one of the Chalets. This place is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet, clean, comfortable get away from it all kind of place ! If I ever get close to Salida and need a place to stay I will definitely be calling Tudor Rose.

This place completely exceeded all my expectations. We rode our motorcycle all day and were completely worn out, praying the place would be clean and comfortable. It was all that and so much more. The hot tub outside was a great surprise as well! We will certainly be back soon.

We were very pleased with our decision to stay at the Tudor Rose. Initially, we were apprehensive about staying in a bed & breakfast. But were were pleasantly surprised with the friendly service and great breakfast. They have a large property that guests can explore, a great view of the mountains and an excellent deck for relaxing. We stayed in the Blue Room and enjoyed it very much. It had a private bath and sink which was nice. Jon & Terre were also very helpful in find things to do in Salida. Overall this is a great place to stay. I would go back there in a heartbeat. Salida is a beautiful city as well.

It was surprisingly clean and breakfast was excellent. My only complaint is that the owners were a bit off-putting at times. We ordered pizza and they got our delivery wrong and had to return when they rang the doorbell the owner seemed angry to be unnecessarily disturbed. He made us feel uneasy. We had packed our bags for three trips back to back with more cloths than we could keep up with and had difficulty keeping our room neat after long days of skiing. The owners informed our friends that our beds were unable to be made one day because " there was stuff everywhere". I was mortified when that friend announced it to the group. That was pretty unprofessional in my opinion. Other than those two encounters they were quite pleasant and hospitable. I would recommend staying there to others although, after my experience, I wouldn't do it again.
We are sorry that this group of seven had an uncomfortable experience. We were suprised by the late night doorbell and orginally thought it might be someone looking for a room or a guest that had forgotten their key. Once everyone got settled with their pizza, all seemed well. We also take pride in our housekeeping staff and their efforts to clean during a guest's stay and we apologize if we miscommunicated our concerns. We have a strict policy on not touching or moving our guest's personal items and we wanted to communicate our difficulties in being able to make up the rooms properly. As always, we appreciate any and all comments from guests that allow us to continually improve the B&B experience
