An East Colfax staple, The Holiday Chalet, Victorian Bed and Breakfast has seen many faces over the years. Built in 1896, the mansion near downtown Denver, has evolved from a personal home, to a boarding house for women and children, to an apartment house, and now to a cannabis and canine friendly Urban bed and breakfast, 120 years later. Enjoy your stay at our urban adventure launching site with a home away from home vibe. There is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel including the Denver Botanic Gardens, Denver Zoo, Cheesman Park, The Sie Film Center, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The Holiday Chalet is only two miles away from downtown and an infinite number of popular things to do in our own historic Capitol Hill neighborhood. We want every guest to feel like a local. Our friendly staff have the knowledge you need to get an insider's experience. Includes a full breakfast served daily, comfortable rooms, and a private courtyard. Most rooms have their own kitchenette and all have private bathrooms. Every room is air-conditioned and heated. We offer free wireless internet, photocopying and use of a computer terminal with printer. Holiday Chalet is a canine and cannabis friendly bed and breakfast. Smoking is only allowed outside and guests must be 21 to consume cannabis products onsite.

We were a bit hesitant given the surroundings but the attitude of the staff made up for all the deficiencies. The location is very close to all the places that we wanted to go and it is very near to all the eating places.Chris and John wemt out of their way to make oue stay that much more enjoyable. They have an onsite masseuse who does great work. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful B&B. Would highly recommend staying here!

I felt very unsafe at this B&B. The place is located across the street from a bus stop and many undesirable people walking around in the area. Two nights of our stay I slept horribly due to sirens and people yelling at all hours. I never met the inn keepers. I only dealt with the very young staff on call. One of our comforters did not make it to our room until 11:30 at night after I had inquired about it twice. Our room and linens did not smell fresh and I kept getting a dog smell occasionally in the hallways. You could not take an enjoyable shower because the temperature fluctuated from hot to cold the entire time. The one day we did let our room be cleaned one of the beds did not get made up properly (just the sheets pulled up to the pillows) and no wash cloths nor toilet tissue were replenished. I'm not sure what bedrooms they took these pictures from on their site, but ours was a far cry from what these look like. Our room had poor lighting and was very dark. It was not a pleasant stay. I never write reviews for places, but I felt like this one needed it!

We loved the location and when we arrived, the gentleman was more than willing to help us with our bags. Showed us the room and gave us a quick tour of the awesome house. We only stayed one night but the breakfast was simple and amazing, wonderful place to stay close to downtown Denver. Great experience for a couple of first timers. Will be back for sure.

This beautiful historic mansion has been masterfully repurposed into a delightful bed & breakfast. Convenmiently located near the capitol building, U.S. Mint, downtown, museums, and large city parks the entire interior is intact with original fireplaces, woodwork, and other details. Despite having been built in 1896 and after many years of loving use, my stay of four days before New Year's Day was amazingly quiet . . . in fact I literally didn't hear a thing. The rooms are furnished with period and vintage items - many lovely prints and photos of various sizes are tastfully placed in all the rooms and hallways. The owner and staff were a joy - and their friendliness and warmth made my visit that much more enjoyable. A terrific choice of breakfasts is served in a beautiful little dining room with the original fireplace and stained glass window. There was always a parking space on the adjoining side street which is lined with large trees and elegant historic houses. I wholeheartedly give the Holiday Chalet a full 5 star rating . . . nothing else in Denver even comes close. Very highly recommended.

We spent 3 nights at the Holiday Chalet and had an absolutely incredible time. The staff are a joy to be around...they more than anything else made our visit there a truly pleasurable experience. Small issues were handled quickly and in a very friendly manner. Our room was very comfortable and large enough to feel right at home in. Breakfast each morning was a joy...again...mostly due to the staff making you feel like you're a member of their special family. As a seasoned traveler...I look for places to stay that add flavor to my vacations and Holiday Chalet definitely does exactly that...they were one of the high points of our trip.

This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience and we were absolutely thrilled. The customer service was great, the room was absolutely beautiful, our breakfast was delicious, and it was very affordable. We will absolutely be back!

The staff were fantastic giving help and space when needed. The room we stayed in was really lovely and had lots of details that were greatly appreciated. The whole hotel had a great charm to it and we will stay again if the opportunity arises. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing space with old fashion charm. If you are looking for a modern hotel with lifts and gadgets though, this is not the place for you. We did however have wifi, a TV and climate control. Great location also if you are walking and using public transport.

This was really more of an old style hotel with breakfast. There are multiple rooms on three different floors and there is really no central sitting or meeting area so it was really like a hotel with a really good breakfast. There was not the traditional B&B experience at check in with an owner or inn keeper to tell you about the area and give you recommendations, make reservations, etc. The breakfast was very good and made to order. The room was nice but there was no way to control the heat (it is one of the old hot water or steam heating systems). We called down to the front desk and they did not know how to control it either so we ended up running the in window air conditioner all night to compensate for the heat. There was no thermostat in the room. It was nice, but if I had it to do over again, I would have stayed in one of the hotels in downtown Denver.
