The best decision I made was to stay at Castle Marne on my way through Denver. After weeks of traveling, I enjoyed relaxing in my room, taking a bath in the claw-foot tub, and sipping sweet tea. It's an easy walk to the Botanical Garden, one of my favorite places to spend time. Hot tea and warm cookies before bed was served in the evening. Because I had to leave early the next morning for the airport, I missed breakfast, but my hosts left me homemade muffins and a travel coffee cup to fill and take with me. So nice. A little pricey for my budget, but worth it.

This place was beautiful. It is a family run B&B and it really shows that they love the place. it is perfectly restored. We stayed in the room with a private balcony and hot tub - it was perfection. The breakfast in the morning was great - the people working the B&B were so nice. I don't see how they could make it better.

We had a wonderful time when we stayed at Castle Marne. The staff was very welcoming at check in and put us at ease immediately. The house is gorgeous and well preserved, with an air of stepping back in time. I was surprised when they were ready to accommodate my Gluten Free diet with special little bars at tea. This was the cleanest Bed and Breakfast we've visited. The room was well appointed with thick, clean towels, bottles of water for guests, and comfortable robes, and the bed deliciously comfortable. (We loved the antique walnut bed.) The entire house is clean with no musty, old smells and my allergies did not act up. The breakfast was wonderful, different but not fussy. We were up on the third floor and it was so quiet and cozy, we felt like we were perched in the trees. Loved it. Just a short walk to several good restaurants, a huge book store and other little shops. It was fun to walk around the neighborhood and look at all the historic houses. We are definitely going to come back when we are in Denver!

Castle Marne is not just a bed and breakfast. It is a destination for a very special afternoon tea experience. Along with the beautiful four course tea party, a castle tour is provided. The tour provides Denver and architectural history and takes you back to a beautiful time in Castle Marn's life cycle. The owner led tours always give you new details, so don't hesitate to go again and again.

Loved this place so much I wish I had more reasons to be in Denver. Fabulous hospitality and amazing place. I enjoyed my own hot tub on a delightful porch. Excellent choice. Would return in a heartbeat.

Castle Marne is a rare find and a lovely B & B. I would highly recommend it as the home is beautiful and very well maintained. The owners are on site and personally serve their guests. The breakfast served never fails to disappoint and they always add a special touch such as edible flowers and home-made muffins to keep me coming back. The family is lovely and always go out of their way to make our stay special and that is why the Castle Marne is our favorite B & B in Denver!

I've stayed at a variety of B&Bs, and Castle Marne was truly exceptional. The staff was friendly and most helpful, and the place itself is gorgeous. I loved having my own balcony with a table and chairs and hot tub. It provided a wonderful respite from the hectic conference I attended. A wonderful place, with the highest recommendation.

We went for one night to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the day we met. What a treasure just 20 minutes from our home. The house/castle is amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was charming.

A very unique, very charming property. We rented the full house for our wedding on a Sunday evening. All of the staff was extremely helpful. Melissa helped every step along the way in getting our ceremony planned and set up. Property is exactly as it appears in the pics. Would definitely do it all over again.

Absolutely 1st class experience! We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite which was hands down a very cool room. The staff treated us so kindly and we felt like royalty there. We would highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed in the Conservatory room in January. We received a gift certificate for Castle Marne as an anniversary gift. We had an incredible experience! The Conservatory is on the main floor, so we were worried we would hear other guests and staff, but we didn't hear a thing! The afternoon tea, evening cookies, and breakfast were all delicious! I have some dietary restrictions, and the staff accommodated my restrictions for breakfast. Most places would just cut out the ingredients I couldn't eat, but the staff at Castle Marne bought an alternative. I was very impressed!

We had a great stay at the Castle Marne for a last minute getaway. We were very grateful for the special attention to provide us with an excellent gluten free breakfast. We stayed in the Van Cise room and loved having the private hot tub. We have already recommended the experience to our friends.

My husband and I spent the night at Castle Marne in celebration of our wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Raymond room. It was small, but had everything we needed, and was very clean and comfortable. What we especially enjoyed was our own private hot tub on the deck outside our room! The staff had the hot tub already heated up for us when we arrived. We had dinner at a nearby restaurant (there are many good ones to choose from in the neighborhood). It started snowing while we were at dinner. When we got back to Castle Marne, we got in the hot tub and had a VERY relaxing time. The water temp was perfect, and enjoyed the lightly falling snow at the same time! Breakfast the next day was excellent, and the staff was very gracious. We highly recommend a stay at Castle Marne!

I was visiting friends in Denver and needed a last minute place to stay. I arrived late in the evening, after the doors were locked, but they truly "left the light on" for me -- along with a pot of hot herbal tea and a crystal bowl of fresh baked cookies. The “Castle” is a beautiful place, charmingly and lovingly restored with a myriad of details to explore. It felt warm and cozy like being at grandma's house -- if my grandmother had been wealthy and had staff to clean, cook and turn down the beds! My room (the Lang) was quite small, not much space to move around, dominated by a massive queen bed, which was extremely comfortable with luscious sheets and pillows; however it was very tall - one needed to climb two steps to get into it (the steps were only on one side of the bed which would make it awkward, to say the least, to try to get out of bed from the wrong side!). In the morning after a lovely sleep, the owners greeted me with a delicious breakfast of fresh muffins, fruit, interesting scrambled eggs and delicate almond flavored pancakes served on fine china and crystal. The owners made me feel so welcome and I would be delighted to stay here again.

My husband and I spent 3 days here at Thanksgiving. The bed was so comfortable we slept like babies, a rarity for us. We loved the authentic Victorian decorations, and the delicious breakfasts! The Thanksgivig meal was also delicious. They had tea every afternoon and evening with goodies as well.the only negative was the heat went out for a couple of hours... But they fixed it right away, and we had space heaters in the meantime. We felt a part of their family, and loved their great service! We would definitely go again!

When we arrived at Castle Marne late at night, we were met with a literal castle; an impressive and imposing and majestic, historic, stone structure right in the middle of a quiet Denver neighborhood. The first night we were nestled in a cozy but comfortable third-floor room with it's own private hot tub on the balcony! It was simply but elegantly decorated and had all the amenities we could need and a comfortable bed, clean towels, a clean bathroom with a gorgeous claw-foot tub and shower. It is beautifully furnished with well-preserved antiques, and has retained its original glory in amazing woodwork, stained glass, and hand carved details (stunning mantle in the living room!) while still feeling fresh, clean and functional. Breakfast in the morning was served in the dining room. Coffee was available in the exquisite adjoining living room while we waited for the meal to begin. Breakfast consisted of delicious house made muffins, a fresh fruit "sculpture" adorned with fresh picked, peppery nasturtium flowers from the garden, scrambled eggs with veggies, and a baked apple french toast. The staff were very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and gave us great recommendations when we asked about where to go on a walk. Our second night we stayed in a lovely second-story room which, like the first, had everything we could need and was extremely comfortable. We had to leave very early the next morning, but there were muffins, fruit and hot coffee waiting for us on the front desk to take with us. You will not find people more warm and accommodating than the folks of Castle Marne, and though the exterior and interior of this B&B are absolutely stunning, it is the kindness of the staff that sets this one apart from the rest. You will be cared for and lavished upon at Castle Marne! We cannot wait to return to Denver and to Castle Marne and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable lodging experience in the city.

My husband surprised me with a night stay at Castle Marne while we were in the Denver area. Upon arrival, the front door was opened as we were welcomed into the lovely Bed and Breakfast. We checked in and were given a tour all the way up to our room on the 3rd floor. We stayed in the Mason suite, which had its own jacuzzi and small bathroom, that was definitely a plus! The garden area outside was the cutest. Tea was served a couple times throughout the day. The staff was very helpful with suggestions for dinner as well as anything else we needed! Breakfast was very good also. Overall this was a wonderful experience and would recommend to anyone in the Downtown Denver area to enjoy a night or weekend.
4.8 on April 27, 2015
Loved the recommendations over breakfast for places to visit nearby. The innkeepers took the time to find out people's interests and cater their recommendations to each guest. We received great recommendations for both places to eat and attractions in the area. Thanks for a great experience!!

I brought my wife to Castle Marne this past weekend for her birthday and we loved every minute of our two night stay there! I highly recommend this bed-and-breakfast for many reasons especially the beautifully preserved castle itself the warm kind staff and the homemade breakfast and desserts at night that made us feel as if we actually lived there! Castle Marne is a experience that you must try when you come to Denver!

My husband and I recently stayed at this historic Bed and Breakfast. Though located downtown it was wonderfully quiet, the staff was so warm and welcoming and breakfast was a delicious work of art! The owner shared interesting sites in the area as well as the history of Castle Marne. Loved every moment and the afternoon tea was a delightful bonus!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Castle Marne in March in the Van Cise Room. We were very happy with the beautiful room, private balcony and hot tub! However, the hot tub did not work the second night (our last night). The bed is probably the most comfortable bed you will ever sleep on. However, the shower/bathtub setup is pretty small, not recommended for those who do not like small, enclosed spaces. The staff is extremely friendly but not intrusive, which I appreciated. I like knowing I can contact someone and rely on them to be there but not feel like my space is invaded. I have to be honest, we are in our 20s and during our stay we were by far the youngest individuals at the breakfast table. Which was not a problem for us at all, we enjoyed meeting well traveled folks from all over the world! If you are looking for a quiet oasis during your stay in Denver, Castle Marne is it. The breakfast was delicious, and I even got a complementary mug to add to my collection :)

We truly enjoyed our weekend getaway! It was the perfect place to disconnect with the world and reconnect with each other. The personal touch and conversations with Jim and Diane and the charming person who checked us in (apologize, I've misplaced your name) were a highlight. We are looking forward to planting Nasturtium in our own garden, thank you!

So I jus and and I stood here for 4 days. We have stood at several b&b's in the past and had a certain expectations. I really wanted to like this place but, there were a few details that got in the way. First the room we stood in didn'that have a tv, this would not have been a huge issue if we only stood one or two days, but 4 days without tv was a bit much for me. Second the breakfast was good but it tend to be the same everyday quiesh and muffins, it got old after the second day. I was also a little disappointed that much of the work seemed to be done by hired helped, I'm somewhat accustomed to b&b's being more intimately ran. The location was great, but I'm not sure that I would stay again.
Thank you for your honest review. I apologize that Castle Marne did not meet your expectations. We try to be sure that everyone booking a room here knows in advance that we do not have televisions. There are two main reasons for this... As a historic landmark property we try to not distract from the beauty of the building and fit the period of the time the house was built. Secondly, we like to have our guests come down from their rooms to enjoy the company of the owners and other guests staying with us in our parlour, or to head out into the Denver evening to enjoy all that our city has to offer. Unfortunately, that means that sometimes a guest that is looking for down time in their room my get bored and that is why we provide wifi throughout the building to feed the need for technology. As for your second point, we have a big staff here, more than most BnB's our size because we take guest service very seriously. Our owners are reaching the age that they just can't do everything they used to do, so that means much of the daily stuff gets done by staff like myself. Our staff works hard at treating each guest just as Jim would, and try to welcome each guest at Castle Marne a unique experience that they don't get at most BnB's. Again, I am very sorry that we did not meet the expectations that you had of Castle Marne and of bed & breakfasts in general. I hope that you would reconsider, and give us a try again next time you are traveling through Denver.

Nicely located; not far from downtown Denver. Charming, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Nice, quite neighborhood for the B & B. We look forward to visiting again in the spring/summer when the garden will be in bloom.
Thank you for the honest review and kind words. The tulips started to sprout this week, a little prematurely since we are expecting more than a foot of snow this coming weekend, but it is a sure sign that spring is coming! We look forward to you coming back again soon!

What an amazing place to spend time! Castle Marne was beautifully decorated in Victoriana holiday garb. The propietors could not have been more welcoming! The entire house is spotless and the rooms are amazing, each with its own story. Breakfast was beyond yummy! Be sure to ask Jim for a story or two! Louie always had great suggestions on where to visit and each member of the staff was coridal, helpful, and always available to serve! I strongly suggest you spend at least one night at Castle Marne on your way to the ski resorts! you won't be disappointed!

We were in town for a formal business event, and had searched for somewhere elegant to stay. We don't get to come into the "big city" often, as we live in a rather far remote area of the state. Castle Marne was definitely the highlight of the trip to Denver! The entire place is beautifully decorated, including the rooms - not just the parlor!. The room was quiet, not cramped with furniture, and the bed very comfortable. Homemade treats and tea/coffee were always available, and truly we felt like we were at home. It was hard to tell there were other guests staying there besides ourselves! That is until morning, when we all got the chance to meet over breakfast. Pleasant conversation and wonderful food graced the table as we all shared stories of where we were from. Everything about Castle Marne is top-notch, and is one of the best places we have ever stayed. We will definitely be back!!

immediately at first glimpse, you know you are stepping back into history. And the proprietors have such respect for the history of this lovely building and for this historic neighborhood and for the city of Denver. We felt pampered, the rooms were perfect, the breakfast delicious, and the cookies at night, warm and a treat. Seems that there is no place we would rather stay in Denver than this special bed and breakfast, with the special hospitality and pride of our hosts.

My wife and I decided to have some us time, since it has been a long time. So after dropping the kids off to spend the night at grandmas. The price was a bit more than we would normally pay for a room overnight. We did arrive late, but they were more than accommodating to get us in after normal check-in time. Our room was very impressive in it's old Victorian style, very clean and just over all beautiful. Our room had a balcony with a private hot tub, just icing on the cake. The bed was very comfortable with extremely soft sheets. We took the late breakfast option and they served a very good breakfast casserole, some fresh fruit and muffins. Toward the end of breakfast we were told about some ideas for around the city based on our interests and also give some history about this amazing bed and breakfast. We believe the overall experience was worth every dime and we will be visiting again. We are currently discussing plans with a group of friends to all stay there this coming summer.

I planned a surprise birthday weekend for my husband and the Castle Marne ticked all the boxes for a romantic weekend. I took advantage of everything they offered the candlelight dinner for two that was private and cozy and the 5 courses were phenomenal. The romance pkg that included 12 of the most beautiful long stem red roses I have ever seen and 6 melt in your mouth truffles! To my most thankful surprise of being upgraded to the Presidential Suite which is gorgeous! Our experience at the castle was only two nights but we had such an amazing weekend and were so relaxed and detoxed from the hustle and bustle of life when we were back home we felt like we had been gone for a week! :) Castle Marne will forever be a special place in our hearts from now on!!

I was lucky enough to stay at the Castle Marne for a weekend recently and would highly recommend it to anyone. The Castle is in an extremely walkable area, as we walked down to the Botanic Gardens and the Tattered Cover Book Store without going more than eight blocks in any direction. The owners are collectively wonderful and individually a lot of fun. The breakfasts were incredibly good and there is tea and snacks in the afternoon when you are needing a pick-me-up. I will definitely be back.

Castle Marne is full of original architectural features to admire and the hosts are very gracious. We would be happy to return on a future trip to Denver.

I've enjoyed staying at quite a few bed and breakfasts, and let me say, Castle Marne ranks right amongst the best I've stayed with. There is a certain expectation of a bed and breakfast that is very different from a luxury hotel. You chose a bed and breakfast for the unique environment, the history and the company. Castle Marne really stands out to me as a bed and breakfast that understood that immediately. By giving their rooms no TV (though WiFi is available) they provide an inviting throw back to the history a bed and breakfast like this represents. What stands out to me is the food, though. Breakfasts were incredibly well done and provided food that is a rarity even for a bed and breakfast. What stands out, though is the catered dinner. We had ordered a catered dinner for our weekend getaway, and frankly the food provided from Castle Marne rivals some of the better restaurants I've been at in New York, DC, or Miami. The strong attention to detail and the unique environment make this one of the best bed and breakfasts I've stayed at anywhere in America, period. (We stayed in the Mason Room)

Castle Marne is a wonderful place to stay. The house is beautifully restored. The grounds are very nice - the patio garden is a great place for wine with friends. The innkeepers are super friendly and cheerful. All the food was fantastic - afternoon tea, bedtime cookies, and especially breakfast. The formal breakfast was beyond anything I had expected with beautiful table service, homemade muffins and bread, tomatoes and edible flowers fresh from the garden. I absolutely recommend this inn to everyone that loves historic homes, b&b stays, or is looking for a nice vacation in the city. The location is also fantastic - one block away on 17th are many great restaurants with patios.

Would highly recommend !

This was an extremely unique place to stay in Denver. The location is very nice for walkers like myself. There is plenty to walk to within a reasonable distance including Colfax and Jonesy's Eat Bar which I highly recommend. The building is beautiful inside and out, and it is clear that a lot of work and detail goes into maintaining all of the fresh flowers and decor. Everything was very clean as well. The staff was wonderful and accomodating. Breakfast was seriously fantastic. The private balcony and hot tub in the Raymond Room were very relaxing and the hot tub was easy to uncover and start. And the robes, OMG, the robes. I think I'm foing to buy one of those online! The only down side is that the Raymond Room is very very small. There is literally nowhere to sit or open your luggage inside the room except for the bed. This was fine for us, but if it had rained and I could not be outside, it wouldn't have been great (no TV). Just be aware and plan accordingly. Also, I would like to see the addition of making ice/buckets readily available so that we can chill a drink in our rooms. The staff did provide ice upon request as well as a corkscrew. Overall, I highly recommend Castle Marne!

We stayed at Castle Marne for a romantic weekend getaway. This was only the 2nd time we have stayed at a B&B, and it totally lived up to our hopeful expectations. The price was about half of what was available for similar accommodations in the Denver downtown hotels. We stayed in the Van Cise room on the 2nd floor with its own private balcony & hot tub overlooking the garden. We were impressed by how quiet it was--we barely heard a peep from the other guests when we were in our room. The Inn itself is a historic treasure, beautifully restored & decorated in Victorian style. The garden is cozy & relaxing. The roses were just beginning to bloom, but the peonies were in full glory & their fragrance filled the air. We live in a rural mountain area, so we're not used to the city, but we felt safe in the Inn & with its location. The innkeepers are a family with 3 generations caring for their guests. They are all so warm, friendly, helpful, & super knowledgeable about activities around the Denver area. They were attentive to our needs without being overbearing. Breakfasts were served around the large dining room table. The food was not only delicious, but artistically presented. We were offered our choice of 8 or 9:30 for breakfast, which was really nice. And when we returned to the Inn at night, we enjoyed the hot tea & warm cookies that were left out for us in the sitting room. While we were there, some of our fellow guests were two newlywed couples, one that even had their ceremony there in the garden, and both couples raved about the private candlelit dinners they had been served, complete with mini cakes. We would definitely stay here again, and we give a robust recommendation of Castle Marne as the perfect place for couples to stay. Steve & Karen Shackles, Dillon, CO

We first stayed here 2 years ago. The family was very accommodating that time, when we had to switch rooms to stay there for the whole length of our stay, other people had reserved rooms so no room was available for the whole time . This time we stayed in the Lang room. It was smaller than our prior rooms, but very nice. The bed requires steps to get into, which was interesting. This time the inn was full most of the nights of our stay, except for breakfast or meeting downstairs, you are unaware of other guests, so it is very quiet. The innkeepers and their children are very friendly and helpful. We visit Denver regularly and will be back again. There are still more rooms to stay in, and the breakfast is great.

Love the old house and the work done to bring it back to its glory.

My wife and I were very happy with our one-night stay at Castle Marne in August. The warmth of our hosts and their eagerness to be helpful were especially noteworthy. The house has its own history and distinctive Victorian charm; the neighborhood was upscale suburban residential, the location was near major through-streets, though not within walking distance of downtown museums, shopping, pubs unless you are a very dedicated walker. The breakfast was elegant -- hosts urged conversation among guests. Parking was easy. The room was small but very clean, well appointed, and air conditioned (a must in August!).

My boyfriend surprised me with a night at Castle Marne and it was wonderful. Beautiful property, great food and wonderful people!

We found the eclectic but tasteful decorations lent this B&B a very friendly and human feel. Not like most hospital-like chain hotels. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly, interesting, and helpful. The room/bathroom was impeccable and it was a great place for a honeymoon/anniversary get-a-way.

We have never stayed at a B&B before and the family made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing! They made us want to visit more, although this will be hard to top!

We stayed in the Lang room for a night and got a wonderful family atmosphere experience. The food was great, the room was nice, but the innkeepers were what made the stay special. Jim's knowledge of the decor was fantastic and his ability to snip a tale rivaled the best of them. We'll definitely be back and will try a larger room. It was nice, but a bit tight with the giant bed.

Enjoyed a stay in this beautiful historic home. Location is great for seeing the sites of downtown Denver. Hosts were a delightful family who made us feel at home and were helpful as far as suggesting places to eat and things to do. Feel it is a good value for a downtown stay. Enjoyed the complimentary tea and sweets as well.

This B&B was the start of our 5-state and 9-night road trip. We began this trip in utter luxury. From the comfortable bed, beautiful décor throughout the home, friendly staff, delicious home-baked cookies that accompanied teas in the evening and nighttime, to the helpful and informative hosts, we couldn't have been happier or more content. I wish we could come back to see the garden in full bloom. I loved the stained glass and the staircase. You should spend some time looking around this beautifully restored home. Off-road parking and quiet neighborhood add to the attraction of this B&B.

Home sweet home on the road. Needs air conditioning. Food out of this world.

We stayed in Castle Marne for our wedding anniversary in the Tower Room. It was spacious, comfortable, and delightful. We seek out places with character and charm. Places to make memories, not just places to get a night's sleep. Castle Marne was wonderful and the innkeeper was like a friendly character from an old movie. Highly Recommended.

Incredibly beautiful, meticulously restored beautiful castle in Denver. Exceptional service; you feel like you're at home. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. We had a great time!

First off the shortbread cookies are the most amazing things I've ever eaten... I love the tea times throughout the day! The staff is extra friendly and very helpful with recommendations on things to do around in the area. Will come back here on future visits!!

I stayed at Castle Marne in Denver during a business stay in September 2012. The "castle" is outstanding and the history and restoration is just wonderful. The food and service was excellent and I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone wanting to stay at a beautifully restored home built over 100 years ago....complete with an English Garden.....I'll stay there again.....JoBeth

We were in Denver for two night and rather then stay at a hotel, we gave Castle Marne a try. What a gem! The rooms were cozy and well appointed. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast, tea services and evening cookies were amazing. The location was exactly where you want to be - within a short walk from almost everything in the city you'll want to see and if you have a car, parking on the street is easy. And, the price was less than you'd expect to pay for such a place. All the above would be enough of a reason to return, but the kicker is the building itself. This place is a piece of Denver history and is such a star. Unless you have to be at a certain hotel for a conference, give this place a try.

We only had a brief stay but wish it had been longer. The property is incredible -- so hard to believe it used to be a single family home.We stayed in the room with the private jacuzzi on the balcony, which was a nice treat. (The bed is a little small in that room so be aware if you have two large adults). The house is on a quiet neighborhood street, but there are several great restaurants and bars nearby. The hosts treated us like family. When we had to leave before breakfast, they made us fresh muffins for the road so we didn't go hungry. I'd highly recommend this property.

I was looking for something outside of another chain hotel for a recent visit to Denver. As someone who travels for business, hotels do not feel like home no matter how luxurious they can be. The Marne is first and foremost, a home. Outstanding innkeepers and incredible breakfast!

I stayed here one night using a bedandbreakfast.com gift certificate when my friend and I met in Denver. We stayed in the Raymond room because we knew we'd be hiking a lot and wanted to use the hot tub, plus it was affordable! Especially with the gift card. The inn was in a great location! Walking distance from some great restaurants and close to a lot of great attractions. The innkeepers were so friendly, nice and funny. We had a great bunch at breakfast who were all very interesting and chatty. And we had a GREAT breakfast! The food was wonderful right down to the edible flowers. I would love to come back if I'm ever in Denver again!

The castle is a beautiful, romantic place that helps you step back into history. The furishings and decorations remind you of a time long ago when things were simplier. The innkeepers were very attentive and accomodating to all our needs. The accomodations were excellent and so was the food. A perfect place to stay to get away from it all.

Very charming B&B. The staff is very friendly, helpful and charming. The breakfast is great. They provide tea and cookies in the afternoon, and you can sit or in their lovely garden. We stayed in the Raymond Room, which has a private balcony with a hot tub. The hot tub was great, but the room was very little, so we felt a bit cramped. We had to coordinate our sleep, turning in the same direction at the same time to avoid bumping knees. Other than that, the stay was great. Walking distance from good restaurants, nice ambiance.

Arrived as guests, left as friends. Comfortable bed. Hot tub on balcony was a bonus. Very tasty breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We loved the Castle Marne and its owners! Everything was beautiful and perfect for our 35th anniversary. Melissa gave us tips about where to go and what to see and she even made reservations for us! We felt right at home. They go the extra "mile high" by serving tea at 5 and night-time tea.

We were looking for a different way place to celebrate our 30th anniversary and the Castle Marne was the perfect choice. They really made it extra special. Our hosts made us feel at home and was hard to leave.

This b&b served as my home away from home when i attended a conference in denver in july. it was much cheaper than the five star hotel with much better service to boot. Innkeepers Jim, Diane, Melissa, etc. were wonderful to me, helpful in every way imaginable. I felt like a guest in their home, a showcase in and of itself.

This outstanding show home from the 1880's is just minutes from downtown Denver. The Van Cise room had a private hot tub on the balcony with a queen bed and private bath. The innkeepers were top notch and the food offered was delicious! Would definitely go again.

We couldn't have asked for more. The people made the difference -- so proud of their inn and its history.

My husband and me stayed in May this year at the wonderful Castle Marne. We were greeted warmly welcomed by the owners of the stunning historic and beautiful building that is so lovingly and detailed prepared, and they have done the best that we feel homelike. It feels like being on a journey through time. The rooms are comfortable equipped and clean. Breakfast and tea cakes were so delicious that I absolutely had to have the recipe book to take a bit of Castle Marne to Germany. The charm and the whole atmosphere of the Castle Marne will be unforgettable. If we come back again to Denver, the Castle Marne is our first choice, and we can highly recommend it. We thank the entire family Peiker for the wonderful time.

It was our first trip to Denver and we couldn't have wished for a better introduction to the city. Our Castle Marne hosts were lovely: generous with their knowledge and time, and happy to share their wonderful stories about the area. It was a pure pleasure to stay in this beautiful old historic mansion. We hope to return for another stay soon!

This beautiful historic building has a great location for sightseeing in Denver. The whole family contributes to running the inn, and all are very helpful and service oriented. We stayed in the Tower room. It was a little inconvenient having a bath down the hall, but I believe all the other rooms have the bath en suite. A restaurant that was only 1 block away was suggested by the owner of the inn and it was fabulous. Defiinately have a meal at Il Posto during your stay at Castle Marne.

My husband and I stayed at the Marne in March and had a wonderful time. The innkeepers are friendly and knowledgeable. They truly go out of their way to make you feel at home. The room was clean and comfortable. Keep in mind that there is no air conditioning. I am pregnant and we stayed on the third floor, so I was very grateful that it was cool enough overnight to open the windows. We reserved the six-course dinner and enjoyed having the dinning room to ourselves. The food was delicious and we made sure to pick up a copy of their cookbook.

This bed and breakfast is so wonderful, I'm extremely glad we chose it. We stayed for one night, and everyone there was very friendly. The afternoon tea was perfect, and breakfast was one of the best meals I've ever had. The castle itself and all of the rooms and decor are beautiful, and the family told us all about the history and art of the building. We stayed in the Raymond room, and the hot tub on the porch was great! If I ever need to stay in Denver again, it will be at the Castle Marne.

We had a wonderful time at the Castle Marne! Jim is a wonderful host and chief! The entire family is so sweet and gracious! The food is amazing! The afternoon and evening tea is fabulous! The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming! We felt right at home! They are also wonderful concierges with maps and coupons and info on when to go where and what great places to eat! Fabulous all around! I still want your recipe for Sour Cream Poppyseed Muffins! :) Blessings! Faith and David

My husband surprised me with a weekend at the Castle Marne. I highly recommend it. The people are friendly and helpful. We had a candle light dinner and the meal was fantastic. The only improvement I can see is breakfast. The eggs in the dish were a bit dry. Other than that we had a lovely time and it is close to 16th street (not walking distance). We will be back!!

We found this beauty through Groupon and absolutely will recommend it to friends! The hosts were all so nice, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious...what more can we say! They directed us to a gem of an Italian restaurant that was only a block away. The Tower room was roomy and even though the bathroom was just down the hall, it was our own private facility so no waiting in line! Very highly recommended!!

We chose the inn for its close proximity to the Denver Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and found even more to like in the immediate neighborhood. Our two night stay was so enjoyable we may choose to go out of our way to stay there again on future visits to Denver.

The owning family of this B&B exceeded our needs, always with a cheerful attitude and winning smile. It is obvious that they take great pride in maintaining this historic property, and love to share its history with their guests. The beautiful mansion has been painstakingly restored to its former glory based on old photos of the interior. Although the Raymond room, where we stayed, is rather small, it was comfortable, and a soak in the private balcony hot tub was a welcome amenity. The large portioned breakfasts were all delicious, and each plate even included edible flowers freshly picked from the on-site garden. We especially appreciate the hospitality shown by Melissa, Jim, and Louie Jr, who were the proprietors we had most contact with. We look forward to our next stay if we are ever in Denver again.

The host, Jim, was the perfect example of a host. Charming, kind, thoughtful and entertaining. He made the best carrot muffins I've ever had and I didn't even think I like carrot muffins! He even made a to go bag for my sister and I tied with a ribbon. We loved our room with the large bathroom, beautiful tiled fireplace and balcony with a hot tub. I wish we'd had more time to stay and chat with Jim. Loved the antiques and architecture as well. Amazing visit!

My husband and I recently traveled to Colorado from Arizona. Colorado is a stunningly beautiful state and we were impressed with the amazing scenery, cool temperatures and we loved the town of Denver. Hidden in the heart of the city is the most amazing B&B called Castle Marne. What a marvelous old place! Being a mystery writer, I'm always interested in experiencing new places and Castle Marne brims with charm, elegance and grace. I must find a way to work it into one of my novels! Our friendly hosts couldn not have been nicer, the breakfasts in the gracious dining room were simply scrumptious, our room was clean as a whistle and the comfy bed afforded us two restful night's sleep. We admired the beautiful paintings, wall hangings, antique furnishings and grandather clock. We very much enjoyed the tasty afternoon tea while listening to the calming strains of classical music in the backgound. Staying at Castle Marne was such a memorable experience for us that we plan to return again as soon as we can. The old castle is perfectly aged like a good red wine and we highly recommend it for a romantic getaway you'll not soon forget! Sylvia Nobel Phoenix, Arizona

My husband surprised me with this for Valentines day last year, and it was superb! It's also a haunted mansion! I didn't realize this until the middle of the night, when I woke my husband because of the super loud music being played in the other room. He heard it too, and went to talk to someone downstairs. There was no one there, but the music stereo was turned way up on old classical music. No one else in the entire place heard it, and the staff swear they left/turned it on. So! It was a marvelous place, with mystery and appeal! I'd highly recommend it!
