The Briar Rose is located in downtown Boulder with very close proximity to the University of Colorado, Naropa University and the Pearl Street Mall. The B&B is run with kindness… to the environment… and to the guests that arrive from across the world. A full, organic breakfast is included, and looseleaf green, black, and herbal teas are served throughout the day with fresh-baked treats. Fresh flower arrangements can be found everywhere, and the gardens are lovely Spring through Fall.

I recommend Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast without qualification. Two aspects stand out for me in particular - the incredible service; it was kind, immediate...and accompanied by conversation (if I so wished). Delightful young people. Then, I was quite surprised by the fact there is a zendo as a part of the Inn. As a meditator, I found this to be quite special.

Our adult kids live in Boulder and we decided to spare them hosting us 24/7 during our visit over the Thanksgiving weekend. It turned out to be a terrific choice - because Briar Rose is a lovely, peaceful and quiet retreat which was welcome after raucous days with family! The breakfasts are memorable and the kindness of the staff is outstanding. Coffee on a tray was available any time of day - which turned out to be very important to us. Would love to stay there again - and hope to do so.

What a wonderful place. The room was just perfect. The food was delicious. The breakfast, the banana bread, and the endless selection of tea. Each stay member went out of their way to make our stay special. They even left chocolate and roses in our room when they found out it was out honeymoon. We would love to come back and stay again!

Briar Rose was a welcomed rest from a busy week in Denver. The hosts are extremely welcoming and breakfast was delicious. Our room was comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and balcony! The in room tea service and selection was great too! The location was a little more off the beaten path than we anticipated, so we needed to drive to more sites than planned. We'd stay here again when we're back in Boulder.

Only spent one night at the Briar Rose but we made an excellent choice. Easy walking to the mall, restaurants and activities.

We were in Boulder October 20-23 and stayed at the Briar Rose. Its a lovely B&B with a very friendly staff. The onsite amenities were as described - hot tea and homemade shortbread cookies available all day and evening. The room was comfortable although the bathroom in our room was quite small (adequate but small). The location was convenient to the central area - Pearl St mall about a 20 minute walk. Overall a very nice stay.

We stayed here the night of our wedding and it was very relaxing. The room was fantastic and the inn had set out some roses for us. The bed was very comfortable and the rest of the inn was very cozy and quiet. Only downside was that we had expected something a little more exciting for breakfast, but we were just offered the last of the pancakes and some eggs.
We always try to offer a full variety of items to our guests at breakfast to our guests -- We start every meal with fruit salad, yogurt, and our homemade granola. As well as a fresh baked bread or muffin in baskets on the tables. The main course of the day alternates between sweet and savory days so guests staying multiple days don't have to eat the same thing twice. We do pancakes, waffles, or french toast on those sweet days and a main egg dish such as veggie scramble or frittata on those savory days. We always allow guests to ask for substitutions for alternatives (for example if they don't prefer pancakes we'll gladly make eggs). And the tables are always stocked with all the condiments needed for the day: sugars, sweeteners, honey, syrup on a sweet day, butter, and jams). Our aim is to fill you up with home-style, down to earth breakfasts made from organic & local ingredients. We are sorry if your breakfast experience did not represent our typical eagerness to please.

We loved being able to walk into the downtown/central park area along the Boulder Creek path, which is close by and a full 10 degrees cooler in the summer. There is a very nice welcomeness to this B&B, and the staff will go out of their way to make you comfortable. The Courtyard(s) on the property are very nice for having a drink outside and enjoying the beauty of the neighborhood. The parking is at a premium, but once you park you can walk as above.

Gary & Jessika Hardin
We have owned the Rose (the business) since July, 2004. Today the Rose reflects our slightly eclectic blend of East and West - the Rose may now best be described as "Zen/Victorian-light". Most importantly, the Rose reflects our values of taking care of whoever walks in the door. We are fortunate to have a delightful staff of friendly and hardworking young people. Jessika ran the Rose day-to-day until Natalie came along in 2013 (finally!). (The photo was taken in 2014 on a vacation of our own.)
Vegetarian vegan, wheat-free, allergy sensitive.
Gary's own recipe for this great egg and veggie dish has been a guest favorite for over a decade is amazing with a side of salsa! We use only the finest organic ingredients and make (nearly) everything from scratch each morning.
