Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast

2151 Arapahoe Ave. , Boulder, CO 80302 USA (Show map)

About

The Briar Rose is located in downtown Boulder with very close proximity to the University of Colorado, Naropa University and the Pearl Street Mall. The B&B is run with kindness… to the environment… and to the guests that arrive from across the world. A full, organic breakfast is included, and looseleaf green, black, and herbal teas are served throughout the day with fresh-baked treats. Fresh flower arrangements can be found everywhere, and the gardens are lovely Spring through Fall.

Lovely B&B

4.4 on September 01, 2018

We stayed in Blanca. It's an absolutely beautiful room. If you have a need to stay in the university area, then this is one of the nicer options you are likely to find.

Lovely B&B

4.2 on August 28, 2018

I didn’t expect Briar Rose to be so nice. The prices were low compared to Boulder usual prices so I thought it might be less than optimal. The bathroom in my room was remodeled and very clean. The staff could not have been nicer. There is parking - another surprise as it’s in a congested area where parking is at a premium. I would stay there again.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for the lovely review! We're glad we could pleasantly surprise you.

Wonderful Staff & Fantastic Place to Stay

4.0 on August 24, 2018

I really enjoyed my stay at Briar Rose in Boulder. The staff was great and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable (although I'm really glad I brought my own hair dryer). It was obvious that the Briar Rose takes environmental sustainability seriously. They even have bikes guests can borrow to get around town, unfortunately for me, when I could have used a bike, we couldn't get the lock off the gate to get to one! No worries though, a bike rental was just down the way. The location is perfect for attendance of my conference on campus. $8 cab in the morning and a nice walk in the evening, or bike. Breakfast; however, was one item only. If you didn't want waffles, then you needed to find another breakfast. That piece was a little disappointing BUT the food was delicious. I would definitely stay here again, especially since the cost was no more than the hotels in town. This was much better than a hotel room!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind review! We're sorry to hear staff had difficulty opening the gates for the bikes. We are happy to make alternative breakfasts if sweets aren't your preference. We hope you stay with us again!

Boulder gem

This bed and breakfast is charming. The rooms are carefully appointed and spotless and have comfortable beds. The staff is extremely kind, helpful, hard-working and welcoming. We were made to feel right at home. The breakfasts were delicious! We particularly enjoyed the homemade granola and yogurt, the fresh fruits and homemade breads! We will definitely recommend Briar Rose!

Been staying there for over 25 years and it's still a great B&B!

Loved the Briar Rose B&B and their staff!

4.0 on August 16, 2018

The B&B itself was AMAZING! I loved it. So very comfortable. And the tea service was so very much appreciated. I had to work late one night and I very much appreciated the caffeine boost without needing to leave the grounds. Also, great location and easy city to get around. Just 2 things: 1, I'm glad I brought my hair dryer 'cause there wasn't one provided in my room. Lots of other amenities but not a hair dryer. 2, There's one option for breakfast. I was offered waffles and when I asked for eggs, I was told "not today". I realize this isn't a restaurant, but I thought there should be more than one choice. That said - this was 20 times better than any hotel I could have stayed at and I'd stay there again.

Innkeeper Response
So glad you enjoyed your stay! I'm sorry to hear that staff didn't offer you a substitute breakfast, as we always want options to be available.

hidden gem found

3.8 on August 10, 2018

this is our 4th stay in different rooms and each room has something good.. Spacious or cozy, in the garden , yard , or back patio, you can find a place to call your home. Missed Rae this last time. My wife wasnt feeling well and they made her a tray. This B&B has a million little things that make it a solid whole. Hope it stays that way.

Weekend stay

5 on August 09, 2018

We stayed at Briar Rose for a weekend. The BB is relaxing, comfortable and very friendly. The BB was located within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Boulder so we never had to use our car other than to go to hiking trails. I would recommend the Briar Rose to anyone who is looking to chill for the weekend.

Lovely spot in Boulder

4.2 on August 07, 2018

A beautiful, tranquil garden offered a respite from our travels. The staff were warm, welcoming and always eager to be of help. We have stayed in many, many bed and breakfasts and count this one as one of the best. Oddly, I do not think that we met the owners as they appear to maintain a low key presence. They should know how fortunate they are to have such a charming staff.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for the lovely review! Our owner is here in the early mornings to lead meditation, and loves to meet the guests. Hopefully you'll meet him next time you stay!

About the innkeepers

We have owned the Rose (the business) since July, 2004. Today the Rose reflects our slightly eclectic blend of East and West - the Rose may now best be described as "Zen/Victorian-light". Most importantly, the Rose reflects our values of taking care of whoever walks in the door. We are fortunate to have a delightful staff of friendly and hardworking young people. Jessika ran the Rose day-to-day until Natalie came along in 2013 (finally!). (The photo was taken in 2014 on a vacation of our own.)
