I came here for peace and quiet and got exactly what the Dr ordered! I can't say enough about it and there are too many details to mention! If you're lookin to get away, this is your outdoor way. I wish I had had more time there! I'm recommending this place to everyone. Breakfast was great, brought to my room & my hosts gave me all the privacy I needed! Just fantastic! Thanks again Doug & Alice! I hope to stay again when I have more time. God bless!
Toni and Scott were very welcoming and very hospitable! It was a lovely weekend getaway and the food was absolutely delicious! I had no idea that Scott was a chef until I got home and read up about their inn and their background! The food was amazing— truly spectacular!! We enjoyed the hot tea, cookies upon arrival and the beautiful surroundings of their home. It’s location is extremely convenient to Great Smoky National Park and town. We will return and look forward to it!! Julie & John
This place was fantastic. We were looking to explore the surrounding areas and wanted a place that was close to everything we had planned. Being right in Bryson City gave us plenty of places to eat and things to explore, and it is close enough for trips to Asheville via the blue ridge parkway. The room was very nice with plenty of space. It was very nice having hot water for tea at night and coffee served every morning. The breakfast was amazing. Most hotels offer some sort of breakfast, but it is a joke compared to what we were served at the Folkestone Inn. We paid less to stay here and had better service and food than any hotel would provide. We hope to visit again very soon!
My husband and I had a little birthday getaway. We choose the Andon-Reid Inn. We had the Grand Library Suite. It was so cozy. The bathroom alone was to die for. The breakfast was good. I'm not big on breakfast but still enjoyed it. The little town was cute. The basement game room was lots of fun. Andrea and George, the host, we're very warm and welcoming. And full of knowledge on the area. I would love to come back again one day.
Innkeepers were very accommodating to help us with our scheduling changes. The Inn had an open and friendly atmosphere. The innkeepers create a feeling of welcoming and leads to a very relaxing stay. I would highly recommend.
Toni and Scott has a fantastic place. Breakfast was awesome and their hospitality was southern style. They were most gracious in helping with anything we needed. Bryson city was beautiful with hiking, waterfalls, and train rides. It was also close enough to other towns that you wanted to explore. We had a great weekend get - away. Thank you
George & Andrea are wonderful hosts and breakfast each morning was a delicious start to the day! The photos on their website are "spot on" as were recommendations of places to go and things to see/do while in the Waynesville area. Normally we enjoy trying new B&B's when traveling even to the same area; however, next year we'll return to the Andon-Reid Inn!
Toni & Scott work very hard to please all their guests! Their breakfast is the most pleasing and the food is so ample, you won,t even want any lunch! The area where the Inn is located is so peaceful, yet close enough to town to enjoy! Don,t hesitate to book this Inn, you will love it! J&G Renfrew
The inn is beautiful tucked away in the mountains but only a 5 minute drive from town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. the breakfast was 3 courses of gourmet farm to table food. Folkstone Inn was just the right mix of cozy and welcoming. We look forward to coming back!
I had a really enjoyable couple of days to myself at Folkestone Inn. Toni was great and recommended some nice hikes within the park. The breakfasts were fantastic. I would definitely recommend the inn as a relaxing refuge and great place to launch hikes in the Smokies!
THe owners outdid themselves in the breakfast that was provided....wonderful three courses each morning, The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the stay in the 1920's farmhouse was wonderfully inviting. The town of Bryson City, NC, is only five minutes away. The entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains is close by and there were several nice restaurants in town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! KLUx
We so enjoyed this peaceful gem in the woods! The setting couldn't of been more lovely. We were warmly greeted by Alice, Doug, and the adorable Skippy. Our room was cozy and we enjoyed snacks out on our private deck listening and watching the stream that runs along the property. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is definitely the place to go! We are hoping to return again!
The Owls perch is a luxury accommodation situated deep in the woods. Perched above a beautiful stream, the rushing waters lull you to sleep in the evening after a nice dinner on the porch. The owners are a pleasure to chat with, and leave you as much privacy as you would like. The accommodation is impeccably maintained, tidy and clean. Reasonably priced, it makes the perfect getaway. I would recommend this B&B to anyone without hesitation.
We spent two nights in the Folkestone Inn and were very pleased. The INN sits on the edge of a national forest just outside of Bryson City. Very quaint and comfortable with wonderful food.. The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad is close by and is a very scenic ride. I would definitely stay again.
The large front porch welcomes you as the rocking chairs beckon you to sit, read a book and enjoy the hummingbirds. The rooms are so very cozy with personal bathroom and balcony. The claw-foot tub is a nice touch! The breakfast is delicious and made by a superb chef using some locally sourced produce. The hospitality is outstanding! I felt like I was family and at home!
If you are looking for seclusion, quiet and adventure, this place is for you! We were excited to have an experience that took us up into the woods (half an hour in). The scenery is outstanding- the creek below cascades down over rocks. Alice and Doug are lovely, and our room was a fun-sized cabin that completed the ambience. Breakfast was good too! Attention to detail was considered in design and decor. What a fun place to stay! Since Alice had mentioned that their place was removed from town, we ate at The Hub (a converted gas station) before heading in. We wanted to arrive before dark, since we knew the remoteness could present a problem. But Alice's directions took us right to the place! Although the cell will not work, we did put our car's gps on and actually saw Squally Road on it! Be sure to travel while light since the road is narrow at points. Road travel is not for the squeamish. :)
If you're looking for somewhere to get away from everything the Folkestone inn is your place. This plane was amazing from check in to check out. The rooms are clean and so tidy. The breakfast is second to none!! But the icing on the cake was sitting on the porch, watching the chickens. Best getaway ever!!!
The Owl's Perch is a beautiful, off the beaten path mountain getaway! The Squally creek mountain stream is very soothing & a great place to enjoy Mother Nature's true beauty. Doug & Alice's hospitality is top notch & they truly love their perfect getaway to share the experience with others. Thanks Doug & Alice for a wonderful weekend experience!!! We stayed at the Andon-Reid Inn earlier this month for two nights. George and Andrea who own and run the B&B are tops in their field. They have a beautifully restored home that is clean and comfortable. They are very warm and friendly and make you feel at home. Your have your own Keurig in your room with coffee and tea. A mini frig in your room. Water and soft drinks provided. They welcomed us with a lovely note in our room along with cookies and chocolates. Snacks and a delicious baked good are provided in the family room. Breakfast is delicious and filling. A game room, exercise room and tv and dvd player downstairs. Many magazines and books in the Inn on the area, as well as recommendations by the owners. A gorgeous view of the mountains and cool breeze on the porch. Can you ask for more?
We can't say enough of how wonderful our stay was at Alice and Doug's place. This was our first "unplugged" vacation in years and a much needed one. The space is small but well laid out and adequate. It is very clean and has all the essentials we needed. Thoughtful touches throughout the place really shows how caring the innkeepers are to ensure a comfortable experience for their guests. As for the location and setting, couldn't get any better than listening to the river below put you to sleep at night, and waking up seeing the morning sunlight shining through the tree branches right from your bed. We highly recommend this home away from home and would love to come back again.
We stayed at the Andon-Reid on July 3 and 4. It was the perfect base, we spent the first day in the Smoky Mt. Park and on the 4th traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville. George and Andrea are the perfect hosts. They helped with dinner plans and served excellent breakfasts, even going out of their way when we had to leave early for a long drive home. We have rarely encountered more attention to detail. In addition to the meticulous condition of the home and grounds, the afternoon treats were greatly enjoyed. Our stay in the Blue Ridge room was delightful and evenings spent on the porch with a glass of wine and a splendid mountain view continue to provide pleasant memories.

The Folkestone Inn is one of a kind! Toni and Scott are wonderfully hosts. The breakfast is amazing. The banana bread was the best I ever had. The room was so comfy and perfect for relaxing. The claw foot tub coupled with Toni's homemade bathsalts are a must. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bryson City.
Scott and Toni run a beautiful, relaxing old-timey inn. We stayed 3 nights and had one of the most enjoyable vacations ever. The Inn is charming and cozy. Scott cooks breakfast every morning and it is always varied and extremely good. Toni made us feel so comfortable and at home. She also gave us great ideas for day trips and shopping. There is free wi-fi but no television; but with the views and location of the Inn you will not miss it!
This is an amazing place. Beautiful, quiet, calm, surrounded by nature. Words cannot describe having a home-cooked (by the host) hot breakfast on the balcony shaded by tall trees while listening to the sounds of the creek below. The hosts are wonderful, and are a wealth of information on things to do and see in the area. You will not regret your stay.
This was mine and my boyfriend's first time in Bryson City and our first time staying at the Folkestone Inn and we will definitely be going back! Toni made us feel right at home from the minute we got there. Every morning we woke up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and breakfast cooking in the kitchen. Scott and Toni are both chefs, so we knew breakfast wouldn't disappoint. The first morning of our stay Scott made sausage gravy with homemade biscuits. The next morning he whipped up lemon souffle pancakes with blueberry syrup that were to die for. We stayed in the Falls & Creeks room, which was very spacious and had a very comfortable king size bed. I loved that the rooms didn't have TV because it gave us time to really enjoy our surroundings. The fireplace in the room made it extra cozy and warm throughout the night. We walked some trials in the Smoky Mountain National Park which is right down the road from the Inn and we were pleasantly surprised when it started snowing. There is an adorable little town just a few minutes up the road with nice shops. It was nice to sit in the living room and chat with Toni and Scott. They told us about their plans to plant their own vegetable and herb gardens in the spring so they can use their own fresh ingredients for their cooking, so we will definitely be visiting again this spring/summer! Staying at The Folkestone Inn is a must if you're visiting Bryson City!
Clean comfortable rooms, great breakfasts. The innkeepers, Scott and Toni, were extremely friendly and helpful. Bryson City is a nice, relaxed town, with easy access to the Smokey Mountain Park, very different from the insane commercialism of Gatlinburg on the Tennesee side of the park.
Great B&B. Have stayed at many and this is one of the best. Hosts attention and though on what amenities might be wanted was amazing. Neat town location and then only a 30 minute drive if you wish to go over to Asheville. Plenty of cute shops and restaurants in Waynesville though if you are staying for just a couple of days. If longer, probably want to venture further as it's a small town. We totally enjoyed our 3 night stay there and I highly recommend it.
