We spent two nights at the Mission Inn from Oct. 10-12, 2016. What an incredible experience. From Susan and Raymond, our hosts, to the staff, we were treated as family not just guests. All our needs were met from having out rooms tidied up before we finished eating breakfast to getting a nightlight bulb replaced. We were treated to beautiful murals not only in our room but also all common areas. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable; plus we had full climate control. The breakfasts expertly prepared by the chef and absolutely delicious. And what a delight to be able to eat on the veranda our last morning. Hors d'oeuvres were served every afternoon. The Inn is located a bit away from the "downtown" area but in is a nice walk and does provide a quieter venue and a long day of exploring Cape May. Finally, Susan and Raymond are excellent hosts. Both engaging and accommodating, they made our stay relaxing and comfortable in every way. The Mission Inn is a "must do" in Cape May. Frank and Abbie Garbe
My sisters and I just spent a lovely overnight at Elaine's. What a great stay! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bedroom was very comfortable and there was attention to detail. (soaps, creams, real wine glassess, ice bucket, plenty of lighting, new television) Patrick was especially friendly and helpful. Breakfast was gourmet! Eggs Benedict was amazing!! We will certainly be back!
Staying here should be a earned privilege. Beautiful murals in every room and common areas. Exquisite, delicious breakfasts. Parking on site! Great shower facilities and relaxing baths if you choose. Friendly clientele. Bicycles, a fully stocked kitchen area, home made hors d' ouvers & cookies. Best of all, friendly, caring owners Susan & Ray. A truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.
We stayed at the Candlelight Inn this weekend (late October 2016). What a fantastic B&B. The owners, Michael and Wanda, are friendly and helpful They prepare a fantastic gourmet breakfast. The Inn itself is conveniently located 3 blocks from a giant white sand beach and a 2.5 mile long boardwalk. It is a quick 15 minute ride into Cape May (in the off-season), and there is tons to do in the area. Our room was clean and inviting. The Inn as a whole has a ton of character. Wanda and Michael have a 5:00 wine and cookies that you can eat on the giant front porch while enjoying the evening and relaxing before dinner. This may be the best B&B I have ever stayed in.
Susan, Ray and their Staff are the very best. They're more like friends than innkeepers. They're warm, friendly, and can't do enough to make your stay memorable. And the food -- fantastic! We always look forward to our stay and have never been disappointed.
This was our first stay at Gingerbread House, and it likely won't be our last. Owners Fred and Joan provide a warm, welcoming environment for their guests...right down to the gourmet breakfast. The location is perfect, with a short walk to the beach and mall. Stay with confidence, you won't be disappointed!
This is our third stay at Rhythm of the Sea -- our favorite B&B in south Jersey! The on-site manager was friendly, helpful, and courteous. The owners are committed to providing guests with the best experience possible. They do, as well! That is why we were back for our third visit and expect to be there for a fourth. We are not alone in embracing the value proposition that Rhythm offers. On our most recent stay, we connected with another couple who also had stayed there when we last did more than one year ago. I believe we both made the right call. Two days to relax and enjoy Cape May in the quiet of October. Very nice!
The innkeeper John and the property were exactly as advertised and more. John kept me up to date as it was during the storm last week. Outstanding customer service. The property was very easy to locate and very period dated. John was very informative in explaining the origins of the furnishings and giving the history of the inn. He suggested a wonderful restaurant for the birthday dinner - the Marlton which is about four blocks down the street, which was a great dining experience and very much reccomended. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and John's service was beyond compare. We met and chatted with a number of the other guests there; making it a welcoming atmosphere. I have already suggested the Inn to several co-workers who are now making plans. This is the gold standard of what a b&b should be and I am proud to say that I stayed there.
If you are looking for a GREAT getaway...look no further. This is your destination for a great, amazing getaway. The rooms are large and clean. The food is scrumptious. The views of the ocean are fabulous. Close to all restaurants and events. Modern clean bicycles for toodling around the town. We always get melancholy on our departure, only because we had another amazing time and always cannot wait until our annual fall trip the following year. See you guys again soon. Thank you, thank you, thank you....for another great time spent at your Inn.
For us, it was just an overall pleasurable and relaxing experience. The room was comfortable, the food was excellent, service was great. Not to mention we were within walking distance of many of the sites in the town. Without hesitation, I would definitely recommend staying at your inn. When the opportunity next presents itself will definitely be back.
Love this place. My wife and I have been there twice now. Had an awesome fall visit. Room was a nice size, clean. Breakfasts were delicious, and wine and cheese always fun on the porch. John made sure that the weather was perfect. Eric
This was my second stay at a B&B in Cape May and as much as I enjoyed my first stay this visit to the Mooring B&B was absolutely the best! The owners Vince & Leslie were very helpful and gracious. Their breakfast every morning was stupendous! Typically in a B&B there is a buffet served in the dining room but since it was off season and there were only 4 rooms occupied we were pleasantly surprised with personal service and ordering. We were given a choice of "savory or sweet" as a main dish for breakfast and either choice would have been scrumptious. The presentation alone for the breakfast was a delight given I'm a huge Victorian era fan, so the lovely place settings and presentation were incredible. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone looking to experience a true Victorian Cape May B&B!
We've been staying at the Mooring for several years, and would not stay anywhere else in Cape May. Vince and Leslie make you feel like you are coming home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the breakfasts and tea times are delicious. The entire house is spotless and fresh at all times. We can't wait to return!
I booked for a family wedding in the area. I chose the candlelight Inn for the pictures and the breakfast. I treated my father and it was his first time in a B & B. He left his stories that I'm sure won't get forgotten and believe he had a great time!. the owners are fantastic with their hospitality, and going out of their way to please you. Mike & Wanda thank you for all you do for each of your quest!
The Inn is conveniently located by the beach, near excellent restaurants and the Inn Keepers, Susan and Ray are excellent hosts. Amenities provided (coffee and beverages at any time, snacks and afternoon breaks) contribute to the friendly atmosphere. Would go back again!
I've been to a few B&Bs in Wildwood and in Capemay and the Sea Gypsy is one of our favorites. Our hostess, Anastasiia, was charming as she led us to our room which had a private balcony. The house was decorated in period antiques and is in walking distance of the beach. Complimentary wine and fresh baked goods awaited us each evening and breakfast was delicious!
This inn is outstanding! The rooms are beautiful and the service you get us outstanding. It is directly across from the beach and sitting on the front porch is so relaxing and peaceful. They have homemade treats put out every afternoon with lemonade or iced tea. I wouldn't stay any other place in Cape May!
