An unforgettable stay. Relax and rejuvenate at this newly renovated modern meets historic inn, located in quaint walkable downtown Sutter Creek. You’ll experience warm hospitality and a tranquil ambiance. In October 2013 the Hanford House Inn re-opened after a year long top-down renovation. All rooms and common areas have been updated for modern conveniences and amenities yet the sophisticated antiques and furniture made from re-purposed wood are utilized in the decor to maintain a rustic charm. For every reason. For any season. The Hanford House Inn accommodates each guest and occasion with utmost care, and provides an exceptional setting in the heart of the Sierra Foothill wine region. During your stay, enjoy the many seasonal and year round activities that this northern California destination offers. All guest rooms include fresh baked hot scones delivered to your door as well as a chef prepared breakfast for two people at the restaurant. In addition, guests also receive a complimentary glass of local wine.

The Hanford House Inn was perfect for us! Not a traditional B&B but not a traditional hotel, the best of both worlds in a small, modern inn. We loved the historical touches mixed with modern conveniences. The fresh scones and chef prepared breakfasts were fabulous! Especially loved how the morning dining area is set up like a small restaurant so you do not have to sit with strangers! Innkeepers Robert and Athena are friendly and so helpful with planning fun things to do, places to see, and restaurants to try. Relaxed wine hour in the evening was a very nice addition to our stay and great way to try local wines. We are already planning our return trip!

Very nice atmosphere, great and friendly service, clean and beautiful room + fantastic breakfast. What more can you hope for? If ever back in SC, I'd stay again.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend in Sutter Creek at the Hanford House. The owners were very nice and friendly, and the Inn was very well kept. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hanford House!

We just returned from a great time wine tasting in Amador County. We were lucky enough to stay at the Hanford House Inn. I can't say enough positive things about this bed and breakfast. The owner's are so gracious and upbeat and helpful. Dana, the innkeeper at the front desk when we arrived, was delightful. We had the best night's sleep in our spacious, air conditioned room. We got to lay in bed longer than usual when coffee and freshly baked scones were delivered to our door. After a leisurely bath in our wonderfully appointed bathroom, we enjoyed a truly gourmet breakfast. I know I sound like a travel writer and I believe more travel writers should discover this golden nugget in the Gold Country. It was simply fantastic!

We loved staying at this inn. The innkeepers/owners were so nice and accomodating, offering suggestions for dining and asking us about our days. The breakfasts were fantastic. Athena is a trained chef, so much attention was paid to presentation and of course, taste. We also enjoyed the wine and cheese hour every evening and the fresh scones each morning before breakfast. The room we stayed in was large and the bed was very comfortable. My ONLY complaint was that the bathroom was a little older and probably could be updated, but it was very clean. We would definitely stay here again!

We were greeted by Robert (owner) who was so friendly. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants and wineries. He was very knowledgeable about the area and seemed to always be available. The inn is lovely. Breakfast was scrumptuous ... thanks to Athena! Our room was perfect for our little 2-night getaway (Sweet Dreams, #9). We would definitely recommend this inn ... and already have! We hope to return.

we just stayed for one night, looking for a B&B that actually has a king size bed. The room was nice. The breakfast great. We never did get to meet the chef, Athena. The evening appetizers were a disappointment, nothing like the picture on the web site showed. The cheese was so small you had to put several pieces on the toothpick to even get a taste and there was only one apple in the bowl. The price was good and so was the location. Robert is a pleasure.

New owners Robert & Athena are delightful. Their friendliness and genuine hospitality made our stay special. Everything was great, including the fabulous breakfasts, evening wine and cheese, and our beautiful room. It's a place to return to in the future!
