Channel Road Inn recently was ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the Best Bed and Breakfast inns in Los Angeles. Located in the seaside community of Santa Monica, this charming inn boasts many rooms with ocean views, fireplaces and/or jetted spa tubs. The finely crafted historic inn offers visitors to the Los Angeles area a relaxing haven by the sea. Guests enjoy the fabulous complimentary amenities including a bountiful breakfast and afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres. History of Channel Road Inn: The Channel Road Inn was built in 1910 by architect Frank T. Kegley and is a rare West Coast example of a shingle-clad Colonial Revival home. Originally owned by Thomas McCall, a prominent local businessman, the house was moved to its current location near the beach in the Santa Monica Canyon in 1977. After having been abandoned for years, and with the encouragement of the local historical societies, the house was lovingly restored and opened as a bed and breakfast in 1989. Although extensive renovations have been done throughout the years, the house still boasts many of the original Craftsman accents such as the massive oak front door and Batchelder tiles in the living room fireplace.

Wife and I have stayed here at this B&B for the second and were quite pleased each time. The facility is very well kept and the personnel are very friendly and gracious. This place is located very close to a lot of activities such as the beach and a lot of great restaurants. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay that is in a very strategic location.

so Room #5 faces away from the street but gets a lot of afternoon sun in August. Sad to say it was hot late into the night and the limited AC could not keep up nor is there an individual thermostat. Opening windows was essential but that brought in guest noise, traffic noise and security lighting. Otherwise Channel Road was wonderful but a hot room is a big otherwise

You are very close to the ocean here but also unfortunately a busy stree. Stay on top floor away from street. Take Uber over to tar and roses!

I reserved a deluxe king and in the past (stayed there many times)...there was a separate sitting area/pull out couch. But apparently not all of them are designed like that and because my daughter brought a friend we were certainly crammed.

Beautiful and cozy setting just like Home! Staff was extremely friendly and we ran into some wonderful conversations with a few of the other guests...We will definitely be back!

I loved everything about my stay at the Inn. I arrived later than I had hoped so didn't have much time to explore, but I felt so very welcome after a long day of travel. The bed was delightful. The room was cozy with nice touches, very different from your standard hotel room. Breakfast in the morning was so amazing - homemade banana bread - mmmm! I would love to return and spend some time exploring the area.

Another wonderful stay at Channel Road Inn! The location is perfect for visiting with my daughter and family. The breakfasts, afternoon reception are always enjoyable. Dominique was a delight and I was pleased she was able to add my granddaughter and daughter for breakfast with me on my last morning. Great place to relax and the location is ideal so close to the beach. Only disappointment was the stuffiness of the room. A ceiling fan would helpful!

We really enjoyed staying at the Channel Road Inn in Santa Monica. It is a great location, nice to be just outside of the busy hustle bustle. The food (including breakfast and a happy hour) and hospitality touches made it special, as well as how clean and quaint the inn was. It is still a true B&B and in our opinion a bit pricey for what it is, but would still recommend it to friends and family who want a lovely, quieter spot. Thanks! Hope to be back.

My family of 4 stayed squeezed into a ground floor room that has a connecting room via the bathroom. Tho' the main bedroom and connecting room was a bit cramp in space, nevertheless we enjoyed the facilities and amenities in the room as well as in the main living and dining rooms of the Inn. The breakfasts were all so pleasant, so were the afternoon wine and cheese! The service of staff were gracious and friendly. Our family enjoyed the warmth of this Inn and rested well. It was indeed an unforgettable BnB!
