Key location by the beach

4.2 on September 17, 2018

Wife and I have stayed here at this B&B for the second and were quite pleased each time. The facility is very well kept and the personnel are very friendly and gracious. This place is located very close to a lot of activities such as the beach and a lot of great restaurants. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay that is in a very strategic location.

wonderful but...

4.2 on August 30, 2018

so Room #5 faces away from the street but gets a lot of afternoon sun in August. Sad to say it was hot late into the night and the limited AC could not keep up nor is there an individual thermostat. Opening windows was essential but that brought in guest noise, traffic noise and security lighting. Otherwise Channel Road was wonderful but a hot room is a big otherwise

Stay and enjoy ocean!

3.4 on August 19, 2018

You are very close to the ocean here but also unfortunately a busy stree. Stay on top floor away from street. Take Uber over to tar and roses!

summer stay

2.8 on August 16, 2018

I reserved a deluxe king and in the past (stayed there many times)...there was a separate sitting area/pull out couch. But apparently not all of them are designed like that and because my daughter brought a friend we were certainly crammed.

Home away from Home!!!

Beautiful and cozy setting just like Home! Staff was extremely friendly and we ran into some wonderful conversations with a few of the other guests...We will definitely be back!

Such a sweet surprise!

5 on July 23, 2018

I loved everything about my stay at the Inn. I arrived later than I had hoped so didn't have much time to explore, but I felt so very welcome after a long day of travel. The bed was delightful. The room was cozy with nice touches, very different from your standard hotel room. Breakfast in the morning was so amazing - homemade banana bread - mmmm! I would love to return and spend some time exploring the area.

Just great

5 on July 18, 2018

Perfect room, very comfortable bed, good sitcom, outstanding staff and surprisingly good complimentaries

Home away from home

4.4 on July 02, 2018

Another wonderful stay at Channel Road Inn! The location is perfect for visiting with my daughter and family. The breakfasts, afternoon reception are always enjoyable. Dominique was a delight and I was pleased she was able to add my granddaughter and daughter for breakfast with me on my last morning. Great place to relax and the location is ideal so close to the beach. Only disappointment was the stuffiness of the room. A ceiling fan would helpful!

Great stay in Santa Monica

4.0 on July 02, 2018

We really enjoyed staying at the Channel Road Inn in Santa Monica. It is a great location, nice to be just outside of the busy hustle bustle. The food (including breakfast and a happy hour) and hospitality touches made it special, as well as how clean and quaint the inn was. It is still a true B&B and in our opinion a bit pricey for what it is, but would still recommend it to friends and family who want a lovely, quieter spot. Thanks! Hope to be back.

Unforgettable BnB

4.6 on May 13, 2018

My family of 4 stayed squeezed into a ground floor room that has a connecting room via the bathroom. Tho' the main bedroom and connecting room was a bit cramp in space, nevertheless we enjoyed the facilities and amenities in the room as well as in the main living and dining rooms of the Inn. The breakfasts were all so pleasant, so were the afternoon wine and cheese! The service of staff were gracious and friendly. Our family enjoyed the warmth of this Inn and rested well. It was indeed an unforgettable BnB!

Santa monica gem

Lovley place, great location, would highly recommend

Lovely safe charming place

3.8 on April 06, 2018

It was a perfect place for relaxing and walking around. Close to the ocean and long beautiful walks. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!

Very pleasant stay away from urban region

4.2 on April 03, 2018

Convenient location north of downtown Santa Monica, very relaxed atmosphere, excellent morning breakfast, although an espresso option would be a nice addition. A bit expensive, but probably in line with the area.

Delightful, warm and homey

4.0 on March 31, 2018

We absolutely love this Inn. Everything about is is truly lovely. The rooms are light and airy, with king or queen beds, fresh quality linens, some with fireplaces, some with walk out balconies. Staff aim to please and are very professional and sweet. This was our second visit and we will always return if we can get in. They have 15 rooms and are popular. The prices are fair relative to the area. The nearby hotels are very expensive and while this Inn is not “ cheap”, it is affordable. The people and the setting are nurturing. The food is what one might eat at home but is nice— always something sweet available, along with a breakfast spread that always includes a hot egg preparation, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, breads. Happy hour includes cheeses, veggies, wine. The condition of the facility is excellent. Try it but don’t expect a hotel. Only one complaint— the water is lukewarm. If you require a really hot shower, you will be disappointed.

4.6 on March 17, 2018

Wonderful Inn located 1 block from the Ocean. Everything about the Channel Road Inn is top notch: the friendly, courteous, helpful staff, the charming, spotless and spacious guest rooms, public living spaces and outdoor porches, the delicious breakfasts, all the amenities, (free parking, beach towels, bikes, home made cookies, high end toiletries, etc). This is a beautiful home lovingly restored and maintained.

Needs refurb!!

2.0 on March 14, 2018

Room (and bathroom) on top floor in back is very, very tired. Musty carpet smell, very unattractive furniture. Toilet tank was running, hotel staff had to turn it off, promised plumber next day--we cut our stay short and checked out after one night.

great location but uncomfortable bed/bedding

3.0 on March 09, 2018

The property was very well located for strolls on the beach, and the hosts were very, very gracious; they couldn't have been nicer. However, the big disappointment that overshadowed our stay was the poor bed and bedding. For the caliber of inn and the price, we were expecting today's standard for premium lodging: a luxurious bed with soft linens. But instead, the bed was just "tired". The mattress was very firm and not at all comfortable. The down pillows were way past their prime and could not be fluffed. The sheets felt like they'd been laundered too much and were not 100% cotton. It felt like we were staying in an aunt's spare bedroom, rather than a $350+/night B&B. The night before, we'd stayed at a resort in another city that was actually less expensive and more comfortable; having that bed as a comparison made this especially disappointing.

5 on March 08, 2018

The staff, Holly, Dominque and Heather were exceptional. We had a late flight to Australia and spent the day in Santa Monica. The Inn was so nice to hold our luggage until we left late in the evening. Also, the Inn serves afternoon multiple snacks with your choice of red and white wine. We would definitely stay here again.

Channel Road Inn experience

4.8 on March 08, 2018

There was one concern with our room. The hot water in the shower was only lukewarm at best.

Great stay at the Channel Road Inn. .

5 on March 01, 2018

Service was solid and the accommodations were very nice. This inn is well located with easy access to Santa Monica, the beach and our friends in Pacific Palisades. We weren’t that bothered by the traffic noise during the night, but there is a bit of car noise on Channel Road. Certainly not enough to keep us from staying there again.

Very pleased!

5 on February 28, 2018

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was inviting, the property was really nice. We enjoyed the breakfast and the wine/appetizers each day and night. The only downside was our room was located facing the main street so we had a lot of road noise. We do plan on booking at this property in the future but will make sure to have a room not on the main road. We are anxious to try some of the other Four Sisters properties!

Enjoyable stay!

4.8 on February 23, 2018

Very comfortable stay and excellent service. The breakfast was wonderful. Stayed in the main floor petite suite which was perfect for me as I was just recovering from shoulder surgery. I had a concern that I shared with the manager, which was quickly addressed. Major props for that! Can't wait for my next visit!

Really enjoyed our stay

5 on February 13, 2018

We are really glad we booked a room with Channel Road Inn. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was delightful and the food was delicious! Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect baby-moon

4.2 on February 11, 2018

My husband and I enjoyed a two night stay for a quick baby-moon. All of the staff made us feel welcome and special. The food was delicious, there was always something baking and making the house smell wonderful. The location was perfect for a walk to the beach or a short Uber ride to great restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant oasis

4.6 on February 04, 2018

Enjoyed our stay. Staff was excellent! Lovely environment and close to beach promenade. Highly recommend!

Excellent venue in beautiful location

4.4 on January 27, 2018

We enjoyed our sojourn here for 3 nights in a very peaceful setting in a busy area. You are walking distance to the beach and the path that leads to either the Santa Monica pier and points further south, or north to Malibu. Its a short drive to Malibu or to the Broad and Getty museums, which we enjoyed.

This is a special place!

5 on January 21, 2018

The host Dominik has superb customer service talent, and makes this place a special place. Tucked onto a hillside, makes the view great. Rooms or clean, atmosphere is warming.

Complete Comfort

5 on January 08, 2018

I'm a regular to Channel Road Inn and every visit is a pleasure. Everyone on the team is happy and welcoming and the rooms are always perfect. I can highly recommend this B&B as one of the best.

Lovely as always

4.4 on January 02, 2018

This is one of my favourite places to stay and this time was no exception.

A lovely stay

4.6 on December 26, 2017

The Channel Road Inn is very cozy and the rooms are comfortable without being over decorated. The common areas are really beautiful. The afternoon wine and cheese is fairly extensive, and included many yummy snacks. The breakfast was good and the coffee was excellent. We stayed in #12, which is a light-filled room (windows on 3 of 4 walls) in the back, so it is nice and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this lovely inn without hesitation!

Relaxing, homey feel

5 on December 22, 2017

Stayed for two nights and it felt like coming home every night. Staff was amazing! Professional, friendly, and genuine. So convenient and relaxing. The food was delicious and the bed and breakfast was very cozy and inviting. I can't wait to come back!

Home away from home

4.6 on December 12, 2017

Came to see the city I was born in for the first time and was delighted to feel so at home. Our room looked out over the garden and was very peaceful. Loved the short walk to the beach walking and bike trails. Just far enough away from the busy pier but easy enough to get there. Breakfast and happy hour were perfect. It smells like baking all day!

great mini-vacation

5 on November 12, 2017

We live nearby but wanted to celebrate our anniversary away from home. We loved the living room, breakfasts, wine and cheese in the evening. Very close to the beach and great restaurants. We liked the room with the fireplace on the 3rd floor; it also had it's own balcony [room 9]. The innkeeper even helped carry luggage up to your room if you needed it. They have rooms on the ground floor as well as 2nd and 3rd floor, but no elevator. They have their own parking lot with enough spaces for most of their rooms as well as a handicap space; great as street parking can be hard to find at certain times of day.

Pleasant One Night Stay

3.6 on November 08, 2017

My wife and I needed a one night stay in Santa Monica, and we prefer a Bed and Breakfast. I was happy to find a Four Sisters inn there, because they were highly recommended by a friend. The staff was enthusiastic and helpful. We needed a very late arrival time, and their instructions for entry were clearly provided in advance. Room was clean and comfy. Breakfast and ambience very nice. Beautiful beach just a few minutes walk.

Loved our short stay!

4.6 on November 05, 2017

We took one of the larger rooms to allow us to stretch out a bit. Welcome was very warm and we enjoyed the afternoon nibbles plus yummy cookies (and welcome note) in our room. The suite was peaceful and we enjoyed a quiet night with a breakfast of a warm egg dish and accompaniments. The small restaurant across the way met our meal and budget wishes with their Early Bird menu. The home is lovely overall with many common area seating spots so you don't feel you've crowded other residents. Would love to come back again if Santa Monica is our destination.

Perfect place

4.2 on October 03, 2017

We enjoyed staying at the Inn. It's perfectly located to visit all the LA sites and have a relaxing time at the beach.

Cute and comfy place to stay

4.4 on September 13, 2017

Clean and comfy, food was good and service was great. It was a particularly hot week so rooms were hot because no air conditioning but we enjoyed our stay.

Great staff

3.6 on September 09, 2017

We received an upgrade without asking; very considerate front desk staff!

Stay wasn't as wonderful as in the past

4.2 on September 04, 2017

I requested a room in the front which is sunny and bright, but ended up in a room in the back, rather drab, and not quite happy with it. Beds . are wonderfully comfortable, as are the rooms downstairs, but the bathrooms and water pressure definitely need upgrading

A prize find

4.6 on August 25, 2017

Wonderful location - our room was what we expected. We got to see many of the other rooms and they looked good too. The value, staff and other guests were great. The evening wine and cheese was a nice benefit.

Charming and very close to the beach!

5 on August 15, 2017

Absolutely beautiful and full of charm! We loved staying at the Channel Road and hope to come back again! Highly recommend.

Santa Monica BB

4.6 on August 13, 2017

Outstanding property one block from the ocean, great running routes on the stairs and dining. It is very comfortable with a good breakfast and evening wine and cheese. We would definitely return and do recommend.

Channel Road Inn

4.6 on August 13, 2017

Great place to stay in Santa Monica. Beautiful historic home within walking distance to the beach.Staff are super friendly and the breakfast is wonderful. My only gripe was the parking situation (not enough spaces for the number of rooms). There is on street parking close by, but it wasn't always easy to find a spot. Would definitely stay there again.

Best kept secret in Malibu

4.6 on August 11, 2017

We could not have been more pleasantly surprised at this B&B. The house is immaculate and comfortable. The service is welcoming and the food delicious. I am glad there weren't any "chain" hotels in the area because it forced me to do some research and find Channel Road. We could only stay a night but we would stay much longer in the future plus take advantage of their amenities for the beach. Lovely stay!

Channel Road Inn Excellence

4.6 on August 01, 2017

Wonderful breakfasts each morning. Great location in Santa Monica. Room was very nice and the staff were friendly and always had a smile on their face.

Quick trip to Malibu

3.4 on July 24, 2017

We had a quick 24 hour stay to visit with our son and avoid awful one day round trip between Newport Beach and Malibu. Getting too old to deal with the traffic. Instead, we had a pleasant lunch and dinner with our son and a very relaxed evening and leisurely breakfast at the Inn. Glad we did it; nary a problem and we left with especially nice feeling. I think we'll do it again.

Charming Inn in Santa Monica

5 on July 21, 2017

Channel Road Inn is a lovely oasis in the midst of Santa Monica. All of the unique rooms in this grand craftsman style home are beautifully furnished with comfort in mind. The staff is friendly and gracious, and the buffet breakfasts were delicious, with everything including homemade baked goods, eggs, fresh fruit and juices. On the first day we arrived homemade cookies were in our bedrooms with a welcoming note, and wine and hors d'oeuvres were served in the afternoon. The beach is just a short walk down the block, which was perfect for an evening stroll. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay, close enough to enjoy exploring LA, but a wonderful retreat after long days of seeing the sights. I look forward to returning to the Channel Road Inn.

EXCEPTIONAL Channel Road Inn Staff!

3.0 on July 20, 2017

Exceptional service and warm welcome, even after arriving after 1000p PST! Room was very nice but details in cleaning lacking, bathroom in particular. Very comfortable bed & clean linens. Balcony could use a good cleaning and front porch a good sweeping for guests to enjoy breakfast. Inn was VERY BUSY and a great problem to have in business. All staff at Channel Road Inn were EXCEPTIONAL and I have no concerns other than better detail in the cleaning. EXCELLENT breakfast, cookies in our room upon arrival and evening treats!

Perfect stay

5 on June 25, 2017

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful, especially Heather! Best freshly baked cookies we've ever had. Very clean and relaxing!

5 on June 11, 2017

This wonderful place was the highlight of my trip. The food was so delicious! It was clean and the linens were fabulous! Don't miss this place. It was walking distance from good food and the beach.

nice place

3.6 on June 05, 2017

Family of three, One son age 23. Nice with two bedroom , sharing bath. Lovely place, stayed there for 5 days. Everyone that works here are super nice. Nice breakfast, coffee and tea all day included. Maybe it would be nice with som cheese and ham for breakfast and a possibility to buy a beer or a glass of vine in the evening, since the living room is a nice place to be.

Santa Monica peaceful retreat

4.8 on June 03, 2017

charming clean quiet conveniently located

Hidden Gem

5 on May 31, 2017

We recently stayed at the Channel Road Inn - alas, for only one night. The Inn is gorgeous (public rooms and individual rooms). The staff is wonderful - bright, attentive and knowledgeable. Though located on a somewhat busy street, the traffic noise is a non-issue. We will stay at the Inn from now on when we are in LA (it is far superior to even nice chain hotels for the same price).

Lovely Stay at the Channel Road Inn!

4.2 on May 31, 2017

I stayed 2 nights at the charming inn and would recommend it. Reception was friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in the door; the innkeeping staff were capable and responsive; the "petite suite" was cozy, clean and comfortable. The old house has all the charm one would expect of a Four Sisters Inn -- I will go again!

NWC Review

4.6 on May 13, 2017

The Inn had considerable character and as should be in Santa Monica, it had ample outdoor spaces above in a lounge garden area, both front and back porches. The wine hour with cheese and breakfast offerings are both casual and excellent. The rooms are different, clean, spacious with quality furniture and excellent bedding and bath products. I prefer boutique hotels often when I travel, yet this inn had enough different charms, a casual elegance, superior location and a level of privacy that would be hard to surpass.

Home from home

4.2 on May 07, 2017

Just beautiful! Wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was so pretty and welcoming. All staff were polite and willing to please. Breakfast was delicious and the afternoon cake a real treat.

Wonderful home from home!

4.0 on April 26, 2017

A very warm and inviting hotel. All staff were very accommodating and the room was beautiful.

Perfect place to stay

5 on April 17, 2017

This bed and breakfast was the perfect place to stay for our weekend getaway. Easy going compared to a hotel and much nicer and more homey feel to it. Super comfortable beds and a really great atmosphere. 5 minutes to the beach and walk way that leads right to the pier. Beautiful garden, etc. What an awesome little place.

Lovely get away spot!

5 on April 03, 2017

Had a wonderful experience at Channel Road Inn. The staff is wonderful and so accommodating. The evening snack and wine was a nice touch and it was just beautiful sipping the wine and sitting outside. The morning breakfast was plentiful and very yummy. Our room was quiet and there was a nice breeze throughout the night. Hope to stay again when I go to Santa Monica for a visit.

Shut your eyes during a stressful day and imagine yourself here

4.6 on March 23, 2017

I've visited Channel Road Inn several times over the last twenty years and every time its as good or better than I had remembered. Beautiful, bright cozy room with huge comfortable bed and lovely views. Tasty breakfast, snacks and evening wine & cheese (and hummus, olive tapenade, etc etc). This is the room I go to when I shut my eyes during a stressful day and take a deep breath full of the memory of the seaside air at this lovely Inn.

Perfect base camp for exploring LA/Santa Monica/Malibu

4.6 on March 20, 2017

Friendly, easy going, professional staff. Free parking and breakfast in this area kept us here. Little touches like fresh baked cookies and evening treats were appreciated.

Four Sisters

3.6 on March 18, 2017

I was pleased by our welcome and the room. However, the garbage collection the next morning (not the inn's fault) was very loud and the breakfast buffet is not what is advertised on the site. The breakfast factored into our booking. We were very disappointed in this regard.

Beach Getaway

3.4 on March 11, 2017

Parking onsite is tight, especially for our SUV. We found free street parking a couple blocks away. The banana bread and egg fritata were excellent. We walked to the beach.

Our perfect, relaxing stay-cation place

4.6 on March 03, 2017

This was our 2nd year at the Channel Road Inn. We use it as a place to relax by the sea, catch up on some reading in the great common area, and enjoy the Inn and area's hospitality. We also love climbing up the steps to Montana Avenue and walking along the ocean. It feels miles away from the normal traffic and other grinds of Los Angeles. The perfect place for a local or distant getaway.

Nice Stay

4.2 on February 04, 2017

Ken was great at reception with a warm welcome and introduction; always helpful and always with a smile. Inn is in a very central location with restaurants, grocery stores within easy walking distance

Wonderful staff

3.4 on January 30, 2017

The staff was the highlight of our stay. The main areas of the inn are delightful, cozy and warm. Although our room was kept very clean, I was disappointed in the condition. Also, having linens that are blankets and spreads seems outdated and using comforter covers would mean to me that all are easily laundered between guests. That is why hotels have gone to that, I'm sure.

A Real Gem!

5 on January 25, 2017

We are from Texas and did not know about Four Sisters Inns in California -- what a treat this was. The location was perfect in Santa Monica for everything we wanted to do. We loved our room and the staff was delightful. We especially enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts and Happy Hour every day. We would definitely stay there again!

I Highly Recommend

5 on January 24, 2017

This hotel was a great choice. We were close to the Santa Monica Pier and other shops. The food was great as was the service. I highly recommend The Channel Road Inn.

3.6 on January 22, 2017

Service was great. The only complaint is the pillows were worn out and smelled of body door.

Getaway to LA

3.8 on January 02, 2017

We needed a little break from Northern California weather, so we went down to the Channel Road Inn for 3 days between Christmas and New Year's. LA was on its best behavior: clear air, warm temperatures, sunshine, little traffic. We could even see snow on the San Gabriel Mountains. We chose the Channel Road Inn because we'd stayed there a couple of times before and liked it. I gave it "exceeded my expectations" ratings, because that seemed apt, although--since my expectations were pretty high based on past experience--"met my expectations" would have been more accurate--but that seemed ungenerous. I went down to "met my expectations" for onsite dining. The only meal served there is breakfast--which is included in the room rate. I rated breakfast at 3 circles because I seem to recall individually cooked and served breakfasts in the past and now it's buffet style. The food was fine, but the experience is a little less luxe.

Great antidote to the mega hotel

4.2 on December 27, 2016

Particularly for a couple of east coasters who were up before the sun rose, this is a lovely place to stay. We loved making ourselves comfortable in the living room next to the fire while having a few cups of the coffee that was already brewing well before dawn. The breakfasts and late afternoon treats are so homey. Rooms are small, but that's fine. The bed was comfy and the rooms surprisingly quiet. I might be concerned if there was a rowdy crowd, but it probably doesn't usually attract that sort of guest.

Love the Inn. My favorite place to stay in southern california when there on business or pleasure.

5 on November 30, 2016

The best ever. One of my favorite spots.

Good location, nice but expensive

2.8 on November 29, 2016

The highest priced on our 24-day-trip in California, room smaller than many others, afternoon wine and apéro is no additional value (no-name-wine, self service), night attendant playing cards with boyfriend in front of the fireplace. Yes, it's a neat old house with stylish interior. The location is special, quiet and close to the beach. But overall it was not really a great value.

one night stay

3.6 on October 30, 2016

We said in the smallest room but at a reasonable price. It was just right for a short stay. The bathroom was immaculate. The morning breakfast was served right on time with nice quiet places to sit and read the newspaper.

A gorgeous and refined place to relax!

5 on October 11, 2016

My husband and I stayed for three nights at the Cannel Road Inn, and it felt like a dream vacation! It is a short walk to the beach, and there is a tunnel to the beach for foot traffic that runs under the busy intersection. Each time we were at the beach, it felt private and peaceful. The inn also had a nice breakfast spread with fresh fruit, baked on-site muffins, and other breakfast delights. The atmosphere was relaxed, and there was someone there to make sure the guests were happy at all times. I loved the decor, such as the beautifully adorned living room with fireplace, and the color palette used. They really know how to put the finishing touches on a stay, providing chocolate chip cookies in the room, an hors d'ouvres hour, and even had soft music playing the day of our arrival! We can't wait to go back!

Best B&B

Amazing experience at Chennel Road Inn

4.8 on August 24, 2016

We had such a great experience at Channel Road Inn. All the staff were very friendly and super nice to our 3 and 1 year old kids too, like calling them by name. We really felt their hospitality with personal touch. The interior decoration/bedding was superb and we loved the complementary breakfast menu and also the afternoon treat.

Great get-away

5 on August 24, 2016

Terrific location, steps away from the ocean, $6 Uber ride to the pier and many restaurants. The innkeepers really care about their guests, place definitely has a ver intimate feel.

Great first B&B experience

My wife and I loved the Channel Road Inn. This is our first experience with a B&B and it could not have been better. The location close to the beach is great. The breakfast was great, it really felt homemade. We reserved the budget room but were upgraded upon arrival. Thank you.

Super B&B near the Pacific

3.8 on July 12, 2016

Channel Road B & B is a find in an area with a dearth of places near the beach. From what I heard from our fellow wedding guests who stayed here, their rooms were excellent and spacious. Lack of cooling and screens in one room was a problem for one couple. Since we needed an accessible room, we chose the Budget Queen and, though quiet and private, it was exceedingly small. There was no room anywhere to put our luggage and it was always in the way. Very cute room, sink in sleeping area. It is the least expensive of the rooms, one of the other reasons we chose it for just a one night's stay after the wedding. I would not recommend that room if accessibility is not an issue. Not wheelchair accessible as there are several small steps up to the room. Buffet continental breakfast selection was limited but excellent. Good coffee! Lovely areas to sit and relax: large living room with comfy couches, porch with tables and chairs and large lounge, sunroom, seating in the breakfast area. Late afternoon wine and nibbles. Staff is friendly and go overboard to accommodate. Rachel and Dominique were super. Highly recommend - just not MY room! (Unless you are one person)

We've stayed at CR at least 10 times & love it. This time only disappointment this time, was the detached room we stayed in (due to super busy time when we made reservations). Room was okay but not as lovely as others. Air moisture scent issues and very close to main road.

Best B&B in town

4.4 on June 11, 2016

We had a charming & professional welcome by BETH .The house is well located and only a 8min drive from Oceanside. Room furniture a bit old fashioned but clean & romantic. RACHEL is an outstanding cook and imaginative by preparing the food for the afternoon buffet and breakfast. The WiFi connection was excellent and better than in the intercontinental LAS.Thks for a nice stay & your customer care! Very relaxing

Last stay here was over 15 years ago. It has maintained its high quality and calm oasis in the midst of a very active environment outside the front door. Nice breakfast and afternoon tea supports the nice atmosphere.

New Perspective on business travel

4.8 on May 14, 2016

I was not used to staying at a B & B for business trips, nor was I inclined to do so, but my recent stay at Channel Inn Road B & B for a business trip to Santa Monica changed my perspective on this. I would definitely return to Channel Inn Road B & B for business or pleasure, because my stay there for business was such a pleasure.

Charming B&B

Great vaca

5 on March 17, 2016

My stay was absolutely perfect other than the bed. The bed was truly the most uncomfortable bed and was very hard. I had to sleep in pull out couch and pad it to make it somewhat comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again if it weren't for the bed. Everyone there was very helpful and beyond nice!!

Channel Road Inn a delightful surprise.

Wonderful B&B. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable.

Rubbing Shoulders with the Rich & Famous

5 on March 16, 2016

We were on our Honeymoon from Australia on the last leg of our journey was this wonderful quirky B&B just up from the beach on the border of Santa Monica. Its a very interesting building, of arts & crafts in origin, parking is a little tight but you can park on the Street. Our room well appointed on the 2nd floor looked at he rear of the property but was private enough for us to enjoy our stay. Breakfast was delicious, you can speak to the staff via the original kitchen which sports an original 1950's Hob Range making it very homely. The lounge is sumptuous & opulent. It was an interesting stay, we passed an older man on the stairs on the way down to breakfast & it was the Actor Ed Asner at the bottom on the stairs was a film crew filming a documentary starring Ed. The Inn is close in proximity to Brentwood, & we went to the Farm Shop at the Barn Complex. It is also the area Marilyn Monroe lived in & we visited her grave at Westwood Cemetery only about 15 minutes away, it was very touching her flowers are renewed every day by Joe DiMaggio's estate, the cemetery is only the size of a few house blocks is free & worth the visit, Marilyn has neighbours, Dean Martin, Eva Gabor, Natalie Wood, Farah Fawcett, Merv Griffith, Mel Torme & many more famous people. The Channel Road in is well situated to the start of Malibu, we drove along there to Camarillo Outlet for some bargains. Great drive with beautiful views. The next day we drove in the other direction arriving at Santa Monica Pier famous in movies like The Long Kiss Good Night or 1941. It is the end of Route 66 and worth a visit & a frozen custard ice cream cone. If you are going there check out Santa Monica Mall its quite something with sculptures of dinosaurs and good shopping. Overall we came back to our Channel Road Inn, it is good value for money, staff pleasant. If you want to get away from LA traffic & LA hustle bustle then this gem of a Guest house is the place to book.

Beautiful place to stay

4.6 on March 13, 2016

We've been staying at Channel Road Inn 3 weeks out of 4 for the last couple of months as we're working on relocating. It's a wonderful experience. It's in a beautiful location, the rooms are lovely and each unique to the other, and the service is excellent. If you're looking to stay someplace more personal than a hotel, this can't be beat. And you can't minimize how amazing it is to be staying in the canyon, with the gorgeous landscape. So thankful we found this place!

My new favorite Inn!!

4.0 on March 09, 2016

Overall, the Channel Road Inn exceeded both mine and my husband's expectations. We will definitely be back! I would like to point out that I/we've rated the Onsite Dining as OUTSTANDING due to the absolutely wonderful "homemade" complimentary breakfast. The wine and cheese hour was also nice and a lovely treat. These are the types of perks that'll keep me comig back! Thank you guys- D&T

Christmas Party Getaway

4.8 on December 29, 2015

Nice one night getaway destination.

Great location and warm atmosphere

4.6 on December 14, 2015

Staying at the Channel Road Inn is like visiting a family home, which indeed it was back in the day. The staff is wonderful, helpful when needed and leaves you to enjoy the home as if it were your own when not needed. As it was just a couple of weeks before Christmas, decorations appeared during our two day stay and the atmosphere was festive. A fire blazed in the living room, wine came out in the afternoon and the breakfast was very good. Our room as comfortably decorated and had a small deck overlooking the road with a slice of water view. The road is busy but with the windows closed it was quiet. The bathroom had a large vanity with two sinks but the only caveat I might mention is that the tub/shower needs a makeover...I am sure that is in the works, as the rest of the place is immaculate. We have stayed here many times over the years but had not visited in a long time and were worried it might have changed, but it remains charming and is extremely well located for not only Santa Monica but for the Getty, UCLA, Brentwood, Belair and Hollywood/downtown.

4.4 on August 20, 2015

The place has a lot of feature, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was afternoon tea and wine and breakfast included which were great. The room was cosy clean and cool in the heat. Great location. A 2 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute drive to Santa Monica pier. Next time we book again for sure...

Very nice and pleasant stay at Santa Monica.

5 on August 18, 2015

Perfect location and a very recommendable stay!

Room was clean and large. When we arrived, a staff welcomed us. As for value, it was a bit expensive. Onsite dining was good.

3.4 on August 12, 2015

It is a bit inconvinience because it is far from central Santa Monica. If you want go to central Santa Monica, we recommend to take the car or bus. By on foot, it takes about 30 minutes but this hotel was nice. If you can get the chance to visit Santa Monica, we recommend to add to your hotel selection.

Living the American Dream

This is a beautiful stylish property just a short walk from the beach. We were delighted with our room and sunny terrace. Our needs were well catered for and we enjoyed meeting other guests over cheese & wine - such a good idea as not everyone is feeling sociable at breakfast time.

Idyllic with a few drawbacks

3.4 on June 24, 2015

This B&B is in a wonderful location in Santa Monica Canyon, just a half block from Will Rogers Beach. It's an old house, beautifully and very clean. One drawback is that it's stuffy. The ocean breeze would take care of that, but strangely all but one of the windows in my "Spa Room" wouldn't open. To get to sleep, I had to keep the balcony door open, which was mildly scary for a New Yorker. Another con is that no laundry service is available, which would be really handy after playing tag with the waves along the shore.Another mild negative was that the person who checked me in didn't seem happy to have me there; maybe it was just me, but she just rattled off a spiel and wasn't particularly welcoming. When she told me where information on tours was, I told her I grew up here. I expected at least mild curiosity, but she just said, Oh, really? and went right ahead with her talk. Nobody else was there, so it wasn't like she was rushed. Oh well. Other than that, I really enjoyed the bougainvillea and morning glories outside my window, and the rocking chair, and the bed was super comfortable!

another wonderful stay

4.6 on June 02, 2015

We have been staying at the Channel Road Inn for several years now and only last year we recommended it to friends of ours. Needless to say, the loved it too. The rooms are comfortable, the food is delightful, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

A Jewel in Santa Monica!

4.6 on May 24, 2015

We found this amazing inn through searching for quaint places near the ocean with great reviews. And, we were not disappointed! In fact, we LOVED how close the inn is to the beach, with easy access via the "tunnel" along with the complimentary bikes that we were able to ride from the Inn for a very pleasant bike jaunt along the PCH bike trail. The food in the local area is decent although I think you can get a better fare of food by going into the city a bit further than what you might venture in walking distance. The Golden Bull was reasonable in price and good food. The Hungry Cat was pricey but great if you love fresh shell fish. We found a really good cafe in the downtown area of Santa Monica within biking distance. I think it was the salt fish or something along those lines. Anyway, the staff at the Inn was FANTASTIC. Each where very helpful and assisted us with any needs we had. The morning breakfasts were hot and yummy each morning at the Inn. There is a wonderful selection of books and movies in the parlor area and great seating for morning/afternoon/evening to connect with other guests. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Channel Road Inn and highly recommend this place to any looking to experience the Santa Monica area.

we spent a Wonderfull time at the channel road inn; it is very quiet and so charming; we enjoyed the happy hours and the amability of our hostess; we also enjoyed strolling around as the hotel is very near the sea; if we have the chance to come back we will with no doubt stayed there again.

We Hope to Return Soon!

5 on April 01, 2015

This was our second stay at the Channel Road Inn in Santa Monica and we plan to return again and again. After a long flight and hectic traffic, it felt like we were returning "home" as we checked in and relaxed in our room. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and breakfasts were always first-rate. Best of all, we were able to take advantage of the free access to bikes, and we biked down to the Venice Beach boardwalk and back on a sunny March day!

Outstanding Staff

3.6 on March 08, 2015

We've stayed at several of the Four Sisters Inns including Monterrey, Dana Point, and Seattle. Each has its own character, as does the Channel Road Inn. It is quaint, the rooms are nice, and the location was perfect for our weekend plans. I found the bed a little uncomfortable, though my wife slept well on it. The inn is an old house, so it has all of the charms that come with that. The wifi is fair. The food is good, though with limited selection. The staff, though, is outstanding, and will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable and pleasurable.

Not worth the expense

2.0 on March 03, 2015

My husband and I stayed at the Channel Road Inn for one night in a queen room with a fireplace. The room was in the front of the inn and you could hear the traffic during the evening and morning hours. Unfortunately we had to finish some financial business and the WiFi was totally unoperational in the room. I informed the staff of the problem and they said they would speak to the manager. Another patron had advised me of the same problem in the other upstairs room. Also it is unacceptable to do check ins and keep the mangers office in the corner of the kitchen. We would never return to this establishment and feel that it is overpriced for the value.

Santa Monica at its Best

A very pleasant stay

3.0 on February 22, 2015

My husband and I were only here for one night, at the end of a week's visit to Southern California. But it was a perfect location for us to end our 4-day trip to San Luis Obispo and to get to LAX the next day. The room was comfortable, a good size, with appropriate amenities. The Inn is charming, with very attractive common areas and helpful staff. It was nice to have wine and hors-d'oeuvres, and then a full breakfast in the morning. And we were able to stop off at Palisades Park on the way to the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

Would definitely stay again if ever back in the LA area.

Beautiful property, wonderful breakfast, good service. Each room totally different from the next. They go above and beyond. Recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the madding crowd.

Lovely and a fantastic location

5 on December 14, 2014

The bed was on the firm side (which I don't mind). My husband can't sleep on a very firm bed, so it's lucky I was alone on this trip. What a lovely hotel! The lounge and breakfast areas are so inviting. Breakfast was fantastic. I loved the room. I was in Los Angeles on business, and it was a great treat to return to the Channel Road Inn every evening. I usually stay in hotels associated with Hyatt or Hilton, and I found this inn very much nicer.

Good, reliable B & B well located just off PCH

4.4 on December 06, 2014

Needed one night conveniently located near hospitalized friend in Northridge. My wife and I have always enjoyed this comfortable inn on periodic trips over many years. Coming down from the Bay Area, we prefer PCH route to Channel Road which is a good jumping off place to various LA destinations. The living and dining areas are really nice. The service is always excellent. Food in the morning and late afternoon is attractive and tasty. Most rooms have been very nice although, this time, Room #1 had awfully thin walls so voices from next door and sounds from above were pretty loud. Fortunately, the neighbors weren't too bad and we still enjoyed our stay. This place just feels very comfortable.

Channel Road Inn

4.6 on November 16, 2014

A really nice place. The location is great and the ambience of the breakfast and living areas downstairs is outstanding. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The staff went out of there way to provide computer access for my wife. The room was a little small and the mattress was brutally uncomfortable but the bathroom was large and updated. Would stay here again.

Charming B&B

5 on November 15, 2014

We very much enjoyed our stay in you lovely B&B. The room was very spacious with lovely furnishings and bedding and a had a large balcony/patio off it. The wine and snacks at 5pm were a nice surprise. We did not have a chance to try the breakfast as we were meeting friends elsewhere, but it all looked delicious. We highly recommend the Channel Road Inn to anyone looking for a convenient and very pleasant place to stay in Santa Monica.

A Great Home Away from Home!

5 on October 03, 2014

I was traveling with a colleague for work in Santa Monica, and although there are many fantastic options accommodation wise in and around Santa Monica, Channel Road Inn was by far the best value for money. Also, the service was excellent and the location provided easy access to downtown Santa Monica, the 405, and LAX. Channel Road Inn was quiet and cozy with all of the comforts of home. Great place for a road warrior to work and to lay their head!

Lovely little inn - great location!

3.8 on September 22, 2014

The Channel Road Inn is well worth a visit if you wish to spend time close to the beach in Santa Monica. The inn is very quaint, has outstanding service and has several restaurants within walking distance. Don't miss the wine and hors-d'œuvre served complimentary at 5 pm each day. Beds are comfy, bathrooms large enough, and the inn will let you use their beach towels. It is situated in a nice recidential area, Pacific Palisades, with good possibilities to walk or jog.

4.2 on September 09, 2014

A very nice getaway from the hustle and the bustle of the city. The little amenities from the evening wine and hors d'oeuvres, to the beach towels, to anytime treats all add up to a nice experience. We loved this place. It's so nice and romantic. We had the cozy queen. Very small room but it was very comfy. Had its own private entrance. The hor d'oeuvres were better than the breakfast IMO. The ambiance was amazing and beautiful. The hostess was very nice and provided all the info we needed. The beach is right down the street. You just have to walk thru a tunnel to get there. I can't wait to stay here again. The price was very reasonable. We plan in getting a bigger room next time. To enjoy it a little more.

Great Service, Friendly people!

3.4 on July 07, 2014

The thing that stood our for us at Channel Road Inn was the lovely people, they were friendly and helpful! The food options looked nice although not many options for vegans, but we were very grateful to have fresh fruit. The room was nice and the bathrooms are of a high standard. However the room we stayed in was a bit dark and quite stuffy! We often had to leave our door open to the street with the ceiling fan going to get some airflow as there were no other windows other than the double french door entry. Having a stuffy room that smelt a bit dusty was a bit off putting but because the people are so nice it helped to make our experience a good one overall! The location is a bit inconvenient if you aren't hiring a car to get around. It is an old residence with lovely character and a comfortable bed.

Wish I could have stayed longer

4.6 on June 28, 2014

My room was lovely! Two days was not long enough to enjoy all of the local attractions and nowhere near long enough to enjoy the inn. I look forward to spending more time there on another trip to the LA area.

I love this place!

5 on June 17, 2014

Everything about this hotel is perfect, the people, the rooms, the breakfasts, the price - don't ever change....

Heaven in Santa Monica

5 on June 16, 2014

This was my second time to LA. The last time I came, I stayed in a different part of town. The rate for The Channel Road Inn was great and it came highly recommended by a colleague. It was everything he promised and more. I loved the ability to run along the beach and cardio on "The Stairs" which are within walking distance, but my favorite thing was the breakfast and snacks available when you needed. It was like staying with a family member. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and infact am already making plans for a return visit to a Four Sisters Inn.

Like Four Sisters, just not this property.

Person checking us in was not friendly, then our small room had long black hairs (which did not belong to us) all over it. Busy road in front of property made for a pretty loud location. Considering what we paid, we had much higher expectations.

Our 5th time at Channel Road

We always stay at Channel Road when visiting our son in Venice. It is a good location and reasonably quiet. Esp on the west side away form the street. Staff always helpful.

Lovely Inn, Terribly Small Room

2.8 on October 07, 2013

The Channel Road Inn is a beautiful restored property located in a residential area of Santa Monica. It's very close to the beach, but a bit of a hike (or bike ride) to the main attractions around the pier. Bikes are available for free, which we happily used to tour the beach all the way to Venice. Choose your bike carefully - some of these are quite old with poor brakes. The Inn has marvellous common areas which are great to sit in and relax. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and there is a daily wine and hors d'oeuvres hour which were very tasty. Staff were always friendly. Our main and significant complaint was with the room. It was sufficient but very cramped. When you book a "cozy queen" guest room don't assume it is like the photo on the website. We had room 13 which does not match that picture. It was somewhat musty and the A/C, which could have cleared that out, barely worked. We were assured by the staff that, when we returned our first evening, it would be fine and the room would be cool, but that did not happen. The bathroom is extremely cramped, and you can't even get into the closet without moving a chair. While the Inn itself is lovely, I would hesitate to recommend this given the room we had, especially its inconsistency with the website image. Our ratings are based primarily on the size and state of the room.

Very cute

This place was super cute and clean. The only problem was we didn't stay long enough. We would stay here again.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Channel Road Inn a couple nights after christmas. We had a great time. Theres plenty of restaurants within walking distance, including a liquor store around the corner. It was a very relaxing getaway. We enjoyed every moment and I highly recommend it.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Channel Road Inn in Santa Monica. This was our first time staying in a B&B and it was the most wonderful expierence! I will definitely keep a look out for 'A Four Sisters Inn' in my next vacation. Regards, Tina

Great experience overall, and with a few minor improvements, it would have been perfect. Our room was beautiful and larger than I expected. The entire property is lovely, from what I saw. The weather wasn't very good, so we weren't able to take advantage of the beach, etc. but I imagine it would add to the experience even more. I'm picky when comes to beds and pillows, and I found both pretty uncomfortable (but again, I'm hard to please with that - my husband was fine). Our shower head was also VERY powerful, which wasn't so great. Other than that, we absolutely loved it and would go back. There are several restaurants within walking distance, which allowed us to really take advantage of our stay.

First ever stay at a bed and breakfast

Very nice experience. Within easy walking distance to the beach, but away from the noisy rat race. Good free breakfast and very clean, well-maintained property. Lovely historic home converted to a bed and breakfast. The only downside was the cozy queen room was very small. The queen-size mattress had seen better days; a full-size or twin mattress in that small room would give a bit more room for someone staying there. I passed along a brochure about the Channel Road Inn to a co-worker who might be headed to Santa Monic, and indicated an interest in where I had stayed.

Memorable Experience

The Channel Road Inn is a superior property with premium amentities and outstanding service. From the minute we walked through the front door, we were treated exceptionally well. The caretakers are always available and seemed to anticipate our needs without hovering or intruding on our space. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and loved that we could borrow bikes from the Inn when we wanted to explore further. There are several very good restuarants within walking distance, but don't think about having breakfast anywhere but at the Inn. Breakfast is tasty and provides lots of options.

Nice place

We recently went to this bed and breakfast and it was very nice. The rooms are unique and the environment pleasant. The afternoon wine and cheese was perfect, breakfast was great. No complaints we would come back.

Wonderful stay

It was a lovely place and the staff were so helpful and kind. The breakfast was wonderful too. The only negative is that the room was a little small, but it was what we paid for, so we expected that. The location was pretty good too.

Wonderful B&B, Great Location

We came down to LA to see "Mary Poppins," and stayed in this great inn. Super service, super dining, and a wonderful room. The location is within a stone's throw of the ocean, so we had the comforting white noise of the surf all night. Heather saw to it that we were satisfied in every way!

We recently stayed in January 2008 and we loved it. The staff was so... helpful. We used the bikes on the beach (they could be updated a bit). The food was wonderful - the room was delightful. We would stay here again. You'll love it. Clean, well maintained, beds are comfortable. I'm sure it's beautiful in the summer when everything is in bloom!

The best~~
