If you want to stay where your every comfort is thought out and provided for, then this is the place for you. Linda and Norm have created a special place that made us feel like we were home. The food was over the top and we slept so good. The Tuscan room is so perfect. Private parking in front, so we could come and go when ever we wanted. The pool, landscaping and lighting were so enjoyable after a day at the beach. Thank you Linda and Norm, your efforts are truly a Blessing.

Slept in the Tuscan Room at this B&B for two nights with my girlfriend. The innkeepers, Norm and Linda, were very accommodating. Besides giving us a detailed tour of the room and its amenities, Linda took a lot of time when we checked in to introduce us to the local landmarks -- she hooked us up with a bike rental service, showed us the best places to eat, and was overall very warm and welcoming. The room was quiet, extremely comfortable and well-furnished. Bed was the best I've ever slept on. The outdoor seating area/garden by the pool was very relaxing and spacious. The cabinet was well-stocked with Trader Joe's food and condiments -- I would have liked a stovetop to make eggs & sausages in the morning but overall. The location was also amazing. Well within biking distance of all the landmarks around Mission Bay and right near the ocean. We had a late flight and our hosts were kind enough to allow us to stow our luggage temporarily at the property after checkout. We were in San Diego for a wedding, so we also needed to ship a dress to their location. They picked it up for us and had it ready prior to our arrival. They were so nice, really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed for 4 nights after a destination wedding nearby and had an absolutely great time. Linda and Norm were extremely accommodating and offered up some great places to visit and restaurants to eat at. The Tuscan room was so comfortable that we spent most of our evenings just relaxing there and recuperating from our long days of sight seeing. And the breakfast setup was great, allowing us to eat at our leisure or quickly on our way out the door. The area of San Diego that the B&B is located in was very quaint and has several lovely areas to walk along the bay or the ocean. It was a perfect place to stay and we look forward to going back again sometime soon!

We love staying at Beach Hut B&B in San Diego! We get to have breakfast any time we want to because the guestroom has everything you could want for breakfast right there in the little fridge and kitchen. Our bed was very comfortable and the guestroom was just big enough for comfort. Our hosts, Norm and Linda, are the nicest couple. We recommend this B&B very highly.

We had an incredible week in August staying in the Garden Cottage! We already know we will return again soon! Norm & Linda were incredibly gracious & attentive hosts! We were down for a week of rest & relaxation from our hectic worlds, and our only hope was to find a place that was walking distance to the beach and relaxing. The Beach Hut was perfect on all fronts! We loved that they have thought of everything and still ask if you need anything, but never intrusive. We loved the stocked Trader Joe's kitchen full of goodies verses making a set breakfast time each day like your more traditional B&Bs. So when we were not enjoying a quick dip in our always-private pool or enjoying the sun with a book we could walk just a few feet past the front gate and be down on the boardwalk. The location is simply perfect...10 minutes from the airport, easy access back to the freeways to take in San Diego and a short drive to all the cool little beach communities going north. One more item that is a must to share a bit about is the bed; this bed was simply amazing we slept so well, and with the room dark we slept in every day, not always thinking we would! The bed's linens were fabulous and we laughed with Linda that we had packed them up and were planning to take them home with us! In summary, if you are looking for a spot to enjoy San Diego for a relaxing vacation or perhaps a business trip away from the typical hotel chains and you are fortunate enough to find availability at the Beach Hut B&B treat yourself to this hidden gem! Please feel free to contact us with any questions as we know and appreciate the power of a personal recommendation and would absolutely love to support these wonderful folks and their B&B that they have clearly put so much thought and effort into making such a great spot for all of us that are lucky enough to enjoy it! My husband and and I stayed for 2 days at the Beach Hut during our stay in late May. The location is excellent, right in the Mission Bay/Pacific Beach area. The home is in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Sail Bay is across the street and Seaworld is 5 minutes away. Norm and Linda are extremely friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants, given directions to area attractions and just visiting out by the pool. The property is beautiful and immaculately kept inside and out. Both suites are decorated beautifully and are quiet, and very comfortable. The Tuscan suite, at the front of the property, faces the street. It is slightly larger than the Garden suite. We preferred the Garden suite because it was toward the back of the property and opened out onto their beautifully landscaped patio and pool. They patio also had a great firepit area also. We parked free of charge in the back and had keypad entry to their front and back gates. The mini-kitchen was amply supplied with breakfast items (pancakes, muffins, yogurt, fruit, cereals, milk, and coffee.) There is a minifridge, toaster, microwave, blender, dishes, glassware, and silverware. Both suites had flat screen TV's also and Wifi. I highly recommend staying here. I would stay here any day over all the hotels in the area that I researched. You will not be disappointed!!! Thanks Norm and Linda!! We will be back!

Have you ever eaten at a restaurant where the food is so artfully presented you hesitate to begin eating because you don't won't to disturb its visual appeal? I had a similar experience when I walked onto the grounds and into my room at the Beach Hut. The grounds and my room were so beautifully and artistically arranged I halted because I didn't want my presence to interfere. A deep toned wind chime greeted me as I first gazed at the beautifully landscaped grounds surrounding the small pool. Several sitting areas were arranged throughout the garden and I hesitated to sit in any because I didn't want to disturb the tranquility. The warm tones in my room had the desired effect of making me relax immediately. Attention to detail was evident throughout. Lighting, furniture, cabinetry, entertainment, and bathroom work to create a comfortable and welcoming environment. And what about restaurant wait staff that makes you feel welcome yet doesn't intrude on your meal? Ever had service like that? If so you will recognize the subtle personal skills that your hosts will use to balance your privacy with your need for interaction and information. Linda not only pointed me to the best burger in town, but we shared lively discussions of art, music, dance, history, and books. We even laughed about our shared love of 'The IKEA shopping experience.' And what about an eatery that is perfectly located so it is easy to get to and offers a host of nearby things to do following your meal? Well, outside the door and across the street of the Beach Hut lies Mission Bay and its wonderful bike path. I spent several afternoons cruising on a bike soaking up the relaxed vibe and the sunshine of San Diego at its best. So, if you like a balance between beauty and comfort; privacy and stimulating conversation all across the street from the water surrounded by a walking and bike bath, The Beach Hut in Pacific Beach may just fit your tastes perfectly.

Our stay was eight days primarily to attend our grandson's graduation from Marine boot camp (which is very close). We also visited other relatives and friends we had not seen for a long time.

This B&B was perfect for us -- we had just the right amount of privacy, the room was beautiful and Linda and Norm were such wonderful hosts. Unfortunately, it was cool and wet the days we were there, so we didn't have much opportunity to enjoy the beautifully landscaped yard and pool (next time!). The fridge and cupboards were fully stocked with delicious breakfast items which allowed us to have breakfast at our leisure while we got ready to go out and see the sights each day. The proximity to Sail Bay and Mission Beach was great - we did the 15-20 minute walk over to Mission Beach where we rented bikes and rode around for hours. The location was close to everything we wanted to see -- Old Town, shopping, Mission Beach. We already love visiting San Diego and now we have a great place to stay! We will definitely visit again.
We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed staying at our B & B and thank you for noting our unique location in the 4200 acre land/aquatic Mission Bay Park. Renting bikes is a wonderful way to enjoy sunshine and sunsets along the 13 mile Boardwalk around the Park and also at the connected 3 1/2 mile Boardwalk that runs along the Ocean shoreline. San Diego is in the top 10 cities in the United States for hours of Sunshine- so sorry you hit a rainy day -I'm glad you are planning to come back because it is spectacular here with the sun shinning!

We didn't know what to expect when we looked it up. We were immediately at ease after talking to Linda and everything after that was exemplary - the booking was a simple phone call, followed by a prompt email confirmation. Queries over email received prompt responses. We reached there much later than expected but Norm and Linda were very accommodating and stayed up to receive us. Once we were there we received an exhaustive tour of the premises and clear instructions on how to avail of the many amenities (tv/wifi/food), all of which are included in the price of the stay. We stayed in the Cottage room which is probably the smaller of the 2 rooms they have (based on the price, which is very reasonable) but even that had a spacious closet, a breakfast area with a fully stocked cabinet, coffee maker, microwave, a small fridge as well as a small breakfast table. I quite enjoyed the non-traditional "breakfast" - which was self serve. The freezer was stocked with french toast, pancakes and the fridge had milk, juices, yogurt among other goodies. Since we arrived late, it was nice to be able to get a snack before going to bed - instead of having to stop and get something from a store on the way (or go hungry). Norm and Linda were very helpful in giving us ideas for things to do and the house itself is set in a beautiful residential neighborhood. It's in one of the bays near Sea World - a short walk away from a beautiful, relatively uncrowded beach. So, yeah, we would highly recommend Beach Hut Bed and Breakfast for whenever you visit San Diego. And this will be the first place we check whenever we're in San Diego next.

This was a wonderful little b&b. It was within walking distance to the beach and we enjoyed walks on the beach every day. It was close to major dining and theme parks/zoos. The price was very good for being surrounded by beach side condos! Norm and Linda were wonderful to work with! We hope to return very soon!

My new husband and I stayed at the Beach Hut after our San Diego wedding. It was perfect for the privacy that we were looking for--it's close to lots of things to do in Mission Bay, but staying in one of the cottage allowed us the privacy that we wanted after the wedding as well. The breakfast was self-serve, so the minifridge was stocked with lots of good stuff to serve ourselves. The room was clean, modern, and well-furnished, with a shared patio area just outside. We talked to Linda, one of the owners, before our wedding night, and she invited us to come over and check out the place to make sure we knew how to get in when we showed up late the night of our wedding. Overall, a friendly atmosphere and very comfortable stay for our wedding weekend!

The Beach Hut is a top notch bed and breakfast. It is in a wonderful location, close to everything and lots of places that you can walk to (especially the bay). We loved that the "breakfast" foods were all in the room and we could use them at our leisure. The offerings were quite generous. An added bonus was that the bedding was luxurious.

Private stay in the cottage by the pool, the hosts were very helpful with dining recommendations. Location was great, across the street from the bay, a couple minutes to sea world, and other attractions. Accommodations were great, very cozy and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful experience! Great location! All we did was cross the street to San Diego’s beautiful Mission Bay! Restaurants, beaches and bars were within walking distance from our quiet street. Our Tuscany room’s recent renovation was fantastic—had a real decorator’s touch! The room was spotless. It had granite countertops, hardwood floors, comfortable bed and sheets, a seating area and a very nice large walk-in shower with the extra touch of organic shampoo and conditioner. There’s a flat screen TV, CD/radio and wireless access. The kitchenette’s mini fridge was stocked with an array of good quality breakfast and snack items. There were plenty of refreshments, a coffee pot and a microwave. We felt really catered to and carefree. Just outside our door, we took leisurely dips in the pool. The garden-landscaped spacious patio area had table settings, BBQ, etc. and was very pretty. Beach towels and mats were provided. It felt like our own private hotel suite but at a great value and without the chaos, noise and elevators. Linda and Norm, Beach Hut B&B’s host-owners, were wonderful—generous and lovely to engage, they readily answered our questions while allowing for our privacy. Beach Hut B&B is a charming space with equally charming hosts. We’ll be back to relax, enjoy and explore. Highly recommended!

I recently visited the Beach Hut B & B in Mission Beach and had a perfect stay. The Inn Keepers were delightful, and the cottage was quiet and very private. They thought of everything when they designed this cozy little space.

The room we stayed in for 2 nights was newly renovated with modern amenities, A/C, little kitchenette fully stocked with healthy breakfast treats, large soft bath towels and a very comfy bed. It was a nice break to return after a busy day exploring the beaches and San Diego. Very close--driving distance from any attractions.

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful hotel for a week for our honeymoon. The moment we checked in our room, we found a bottle of red wine and a balloon with "Congratulations!" on it. This was how Linda and Norm made us feel welcome, special and at home. The room, service, value, cleanliness and provided complimentary breakfast every day are all of that 5-star hotel standards. Furthermore, a reserved parking space was kept for us. Although we were far away from our home in New York City, we felt a home away from home. We would love to go back to this wonderful hotel one day and highly recommend this hotel and its owners Linda & Norm York.

I had business in San Diego the week prior to our stay. I combed the internet for a B&B in the La Jolla area and finally found the Beach Hut B&B... affordable and from the photos they had posted, it looked lovely. It was... everything my boyfriend and I needed and wanted. Beautifully and smartly appointed kitchen and bathroom. Everything is so clean and beautiful. We would highly recommend this property to other travelers, and if we have the chance someday, we'll definitely go back!

My wife and I just spent two wonderful nights at the Beach Hut and loved how close it was to all that the Mission Beach area has to offer. Private cottage is beautifully decorated inside and the very large patio area--including a small private pool--was an oasis of tranquility after a busy day of sightseeing. Norm and Linda, the innkeepers, were very hospitable while still providing as much privacy as we wanted.

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights in the cottage. It was cozy, elegant with 5 star bedding and furnishings. There was an excellent assortment of fresh and frozen breakfast items and we enjoyed our breaky sitting by the pool and soaking up the charming atmosphere. Sail bay and Mission beach beachwalk are only a short walk or bikeride away. We rented bikes and explored the area finding great restaurants and shopping everywhere we went. (Try the lunch special at Rockeys Pub just around the corner). Linda and Norm were incredible hosts and we will definitely be returning for more visits.

My wife attended a conference in San Diego and I was tasked to find the best place to stay. After reading many reviews, I select the Beach Hut and I was not disappointed. I found the room, parking and location to be exactly what I was expecting. The hosts, Norm and Linda, were very nice. The room was very clean and very comfortable and relaxing to be in. The beach on Sail Bay was very close and my wife and I enjoyed taking daily walks. It was a great escape and we had a wonderful time. I'd highly recommend this B&B to my friends.

I just spent five nights at the Beach Hut B and B. What a nice B and B! I stayed in the Garden Cottage and it was practically brand new because of the newly completed renovation. Very nice. Linda and Norm had also stocked a nice assortment of food for the do-it-yourself breakfast. Linda and Norm were very accommodating and helpful. Linda even gave me a private tour of the area! Now that's what I call great customer service! If I ever go back to San Diego, and I hope I do soon, I will be booking this bed and breakfast again!

My husband and I had a marvelous stay at the Beach Hut B&B. This perfect little cottage provided a private pool, perfectly groomed patio/yard, offstreet parking, and every amenity we could have wanted. Not a stuffy "dress for breakfast B&B", here at the Beach Hut we had a kitchenette in our room stocked with everything we could have wanted for breakfast plus a bit of refrigerator space leftover for our restaurant leftovers. And best of all--we ate breakfast when we wanted. We stayed over a week and found the location convenient to all of the activities that we pursued. We'd love to go back and would highly recommend this property to anyone. Norm and Linda are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. Even gave us great tips on affordable nearby restaurants!

If you need a "resort" to hang out at all day, this is not it....though the private courtyard pool is inviting. But if you want a quiet, elegant, well appointed room as a base to explore San Diego, this is it. Make breakfast, and take off and explore the Zoo, Sea World, or the beaches, knowing that you have a nice private retreat waiting for you at the end of the day without all the noise and hassle of a sterile hotel room. You will need a car, but at least you will not have to pay to park it yourself. We like to walk, so we walked to the beach and dinner, but some will want to drive. Central location makes it easy to get around.

My husband and I spend a 4 day weekend at the Beach Hut B&B. Although it is a big party weekend at Sail Bay, our room was quiet and peaceful all 4 nights. Our room was recently remodelled with a beautiful spacious bathroom and shower. The patio with mini pool was perfect for a mid-afternoon relaxation and the beach is just a short block away.

The Beach Hut B&B was a fantastic find! The place has been recently renovated, and the work isn't quite done. However, this never disturbed the peaceful atmosphere. During the time of our stay, neither the owners or any other guests stayed overnight, meaning we had the tastefully decorated gardens, complete with a small inground pool, all to ourselves. The room itself was wonderfully appointed, with a compact dining table, a television that folded into the wall to be unobtrusive, a DVD player with some movies supplied, and a fridge stocked with food for breakfast/brunch/snacking. The bathroom was also well done, with a clean, comfortable shower. Another nice touch is the keyless locks - you are assigned a password that is simple to remember and voila! no wondering if you remembered to bring the keys with you. Wireless internet is available - just ask Norm for the password. Aside from the property itself, the Beach Hut is located very close to the water - it's a two minute walk to a path that takes you along the harbor. This made for a great place to go running each morning. Actually, while we were there the San Diego Rock N Roll Marathon was taking place, and we were very close to mile 19. We spent a lovely morning walking to get some coffee and then cheering on the runners. Just perfect. We've recommended this place to friends, and if we return to San Diego, I would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach Hut. Norm and Linda were very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and accommodating. The bay was a short walk away, the ocean, about a mile and a half. Sea World, the Zoo and Balboa park were a short drive away. You make your own breakfast whenever you like. The room was stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, bagels, milk, orange juice, yogurt, frozen waffles, French toast, and pancakes. There is a small coffee pot and microwave. The bed was cozy, the street quiet, the hospitality warm. We enjoyed chatting with Linda by the pool. Overall, great place. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Beach Hut B&B in early December and had a wonderful time. Before we left home in (freezing) Oregon, the owners, Linda and Norm, contacted us several times by e-mail and phone to ask about our preferences in food and if they could make any suggestions regarding shopping, entertainment, sightseeing, etc. When we arrived in (sunny) San Diego it was like walking into our own private tropical paradise. The yard is green and beautiful and the pool is great to cool off in while getting a head start on your tan before hitting the beach. The room was recently redone in warm shades of brown and tan, and the marble countertops and tiled bathroom were much nicer than we usually see in an upscale hotel. The fridge and pantry were fully stocked with breakfast foods for us to enjoy at our convenience. We rented a sailboat on Mission Bay and walked around the bay to enjoy a very romantic dinner at the Catamaran Hotel. We could not have found a better location for our week long getaway, as it was close to Sea World, the Zoo, downtown, shopping malls. We plan to return next year with our friends since they have two rooms available - one with a fireplace.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach Hut. It is within walking distance to Mission Bay and has easy access to freeways that will take you to North County SD or downtown. It is impeccably clean, with a wonderful selection of breakfast foods. The full kitchen is terrific to have at your disposal. The sink/toilet area is a little tight, but the shower is quite roomy. The innkeeper is very pleasant and will work to accommodate your every need. (Most of which will be parking and the owner graciously allows you use of the reserved parking space!) I highly recommend the Beach Hut for your next trip to San Diego whether your stay is for one night or for a week!

Nice location for combined business and vacation travel. Renovations underway but have not interfered in a lovely stay of 9 days. Nicely stocked breakfast foods and owners receptive to guests requests (low fat for us) - good to e-mail food requests ahead. Location across the street from easy access to Mission Bay and easy route to Mission and Pacific Beach. Great area for walk, run skate or bike. The unit has a small fridge, micro, toaster and waffle maker. A charming space, neat and impeccably clean. 2 units available in the future. Exercise pool is solar heated and in the midst of these renovations the owners reminded us to let them know if we wanted to use it(covered to retain heat between uses)Ya'll come! The hosts are friendly, attentive but not intrusive. We would return.
