My birthday trip included two wonderful nights at Gosby House Inn, and the present from my husband couldn't have been more fabulous! We had the wonderful, large Trimmer Hill King room, #13, downstairs, with it's own sitting porch off French doors and a fireplace. The afternoon wine happy hour, and incredible breakfasts, were icing on the 'birthday' cake! Dinner right across the street and The Red House Cafe was terrific! Wish I could stay at least twice every year! Love everything about it, and Pacific Grove is SO much better than Monterey or Carmel in my book. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Gosby House for helping to make my birthday exceptional.

Our room was cozy and just right for two. Breakfast was excellent and wine and cheese in the evening was a perfect end to the day in Pacific Grove. The birds in the morning were our alarm clock!

We have been to Pacific Grove many times and this was our first stay at the Gosby House Inn. The staff was great. Breakfast was amazing! Tea time had great wine, dessert and snacks. If you want to be in the heart of downtown Pacific Grove, this is the place. You can walk to all the old shops and restaurants within minutes. Lovers point is only a 10 minute walk. We do recommend requesting a room away from the Lighthouse Ave. side. The traffic won't let you sleep in and can be really loud. Highly recommend staying here!

Pacific Grove is a fantastic alternative to staying in Monterey. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is about a 20 min. walk. Lovers Point about 10 min. Our accommodations were spacious, clean and comfortable. By no means is a Holliday Inn type of hotel. It is over 100 years old, is full of charm and not a box. The breakfast is full of variety and tasty. The afternoon refreshments include wine cheese, crackers, some sort of quiche and many other things. Having been to a few of the Four Sister Ins during the past decade or so they are always my first choice when traveling.

We had a very relaxing weekend getaway. The food and wine offered was delicious and the location was perfect. Thank you!

We celebrated my husband's birthday by staying the weekend at The Gosby Inn. All the little touches made the difference; the balloons waiting in the room, the champagne on ice, the turn down service, the complimentary appetizers and drinks and the absolutely fabulous breakfasts. The room had a fireplace we used as much as possible and the balcony gave us a cozy place to start and end the day. LOVED it!
2.4 on April 11, 2018
I have stayed in many Four Sisters Inns and those were very nice. This one was clean, but the room we had did not have a bathroom in the room. It was not convenient to have to walk across the hall to use the restroom and shower, not to mention having to use the facilities during the night and having to walk the halls in my night clothes. I probably wouldn’t stay at the Gosby house again.
4.6 on April 11, 2018
I would definitely recommend The Gosby House. Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed our room and our two night stay. This b&b is in an ideal location with tons of restaurants and shops in walking distance! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This was our second stay at Gosby House. Chose to stay again since our first visit was so pleasant. When we are next in the area I’m sure we will stay again as it’s lovely and a great value. Staff is gracious and accommodating.

My husband and I have stayed at the Gosby Inn before and as usual the service and helpfulness of the staff working there is exceptional. The breakfast is amazing, as well as the wine and appetizer hour. The only thing I noticed is the room decor, chairs, linens, curtains are starting to look a little tired and the bed was not the most comfortable. The towels and robes were very rough textured. It would be nice to see the rooms updated a bit. Other than that, we loved our stay and of course everything about Pacific Grove. Loved the Mexican restaurant within walking distance. http://www.peppersmexicalicafe.com

Staff at Gosby House went out of their way to make sure Guests had a good experience. We enjoyed the afternoon wine and cheese. But breakfast was outstanding! The egg dish was my favorite with mushrooms, onion and cheese. Muffins were delicious. Only minor problem was TV did not work. Staff attempted to fix it but were not able.
5 on April 06, 2018
The rooms are charming and well kept. Our bed was very comfortable. The full breakfast and the wine & hors d' ouvers happy hour were delicious. Sharon, the manager, was friendly and most helpful in accommodating a special request. The other staff are pleasant and immediately responsive. This wasn't our first stay at the Gosby House and we will happily return.

The Gosby House is a clean and very inviting place to stay. They serve an excellent breakfast and we love the wine hour. The wine hour includes wine and much delicious appetizers. The staff at Gosby House is wonderful and they always make our stay pleasant. The wine and breakfast hour is a fun time to socialize with other guests, and of course, we love Pacific Grove.
5 on April 03, 2018
We stay here often for our anniversary. It is a lovely Bed and Breakfast where the staff attends to every detail. The breakfasts are always good with a variety of items to choose from. You can be as private as you like or mingle with the interesting people who stay there. It is within walking distance of the theater and many little shops. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is only a mile away and can be easily walked to along the footpath that lines the bay. A great experience and only two hours from our house.

Great staff and breakfast! We sadly missed the complimentary wine happy hour, but we did get fresh lemon bars one evening and delicious oatmeal cookies the next night. We had the Victoria room which was a little tight, but I knew this when I made the reservation---also one of the less expensive rooms. If you feel you need a lot of space, then you will want to pay more and book a larger room. I would stay here again and recommend it.

The Gosby House is an outstanding B&B , if the other Sisters Inns are like this, you have a lifetime member. Thank you, Carol Fernandez

awesome place! Love the rooms, staff, food and price!
5 on March 21, 2018
We have had the wonderful opportunity to stay at The Gosby House Inn several times over the last year. A week ago our last minute plans showed only a few rooms left, so we selected room #13 Trimmer Hill. We were pleasantly surprised that this room turns out to be our favorite so far! Spacious, great walk-in shower, and a perfectly lovely, large private deck with a porch swing and fantastic views of Lighthouse Avenue. Trimmer Hill is right off of the main dining area, making it too easy to sneak out for an extra cookie or nibble from the Afternoon Wine & Hors D'oeuvres. Kinda hate to let the cat outta the bag, but this room is special indeed!

We stayed two nights in room #10, the Victoria/Albert room. The room was one of their smallest, and I knew this when making the reservation, but keep that in mind if you want a bit more space. The breakfasts were fantastic and the cookies and afternoon snacks added to the stay. Great staff recommendations for where to eat as well. Great location with walking distance to the main area of town. I would definitely stay there again.

Ideal B&B service and easy walk to great restaurants and ocean. Ample breakfast.

Gosby House Inn has a feeling of staying at a family house - a bit like at grandma's house. Rooms are not modern but are comfortable and cozy. The room we had included a fireplace, which was nice to have for atmosphere. The bathroom could use some towel racks. There is nothing to hang your towels after you shower nor any provision in the sink area to hang your towel or wash cloth. The breakfast is a plus. Lots of fresh fruit, muffins, an assortment of breads and an egg dish. Good coffee and juices. The afternoon wine/ appetizers is also very nice. These features add value to the stay.

We’ve stayed in many Four Sisters Inns and always love the experience but the Gosby House needs a comfort update, the beds are hard and lumpy and bathroom floor was dangerously slippery! Time for a facelift!

We found the Gosby Inn a delightful place to celebrate Valentines 2018. The Inn has Old World charm and is very comfortable. The meals were superb. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The location is perfect. The Inn is quiet and peaceful, just what we were looking for.
4.4 on March 01, 2018
We enjoyed our recent stay at Gosby. As always, the rooms were comfortable, the service great, and the food was delicious. We had an upstairs room with a small balcony that gave us an extra does of sunshine. The view is mostly of rooftops, but it is still wonderful to be able to step outside and enjoy the morning air. The in-room fireplace keeps things cozy and the bedding is comfortable.

We stayed 4 nights in the Lover’s Point room at Gosby House. It was perfect, start to finish. We parked the car right in front of our room when we arrived and never moved it until we left. Literally everything we wanted to do in Pacific Grove was within walking distance, including the Aquarium and Monterey Fisherman’s Wharf. As for the Inn itself, the staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast and afternoon appetizers/wine were well presented and delicious, building, furnishings and grounds were clean and simply lovely. Added bonuses: fresh cookies and coffee in the parlor all afternoon and the weather was glorious!!

The Steinbeck Room is Beautiful. It's private shower and bathroom are separate. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening wine and hors d'oeuvres, and delicious breakfast. Thank you for your Hospitality...

We spent last Sunday thru Wednesday nights at the Gosby House Inn in Pacific Grove. It was delightful, start to finish. The Inn is beautiful with immaculate gardens. Breakfast each morning and appetizers/wine in the evenings was always filling and delicious. In fact, we only ate out a couple of times, though there are many excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. In fact, pretty much everything of interest in Pacific Groce is well within 2 miles. We parked our car on 18th Street when we arrived and never touched it again until we left. Every staff member was pleasant and smiling, from the front desk, cook, housekeeper to the gardener and handyman. We will definitely return to this little piece of heaven!

My wife and I have been staying at the Gosby House Inn for over 20 years. We've always enjoyed the B&B experience and especially the Gosby House Inn., We are going to stay here again, however, after 20 years they need a deep cleaning in the bathroom. The smell of mold is ever present and visible around the bathtub. It's been cleaned daily but not DEEP CLEANED. It appears the sisters never come by and perform a routine inspection. It makes me feel that we're not special enough to have the best, which the Gosby House Inn is not any longer.

We always thoroughly enjoy staying at Gosby House Inn. The staff remember us, even though we only go once a year! The goodies are delicious, and you can't beat the surrounding area. Even if the weather doesn't cooperate, you can sit in front of the fireplace and read or play games.
4.6 on January 16, 2018
This is a great B and B. Nothing is to far away from this location as it is very centralized. The only drawback is it is not on the water which would probably raise the price. Our only complaint was the music when we first arrived. It sounded like a funereal home. That is a simple fix.
4.8 on January 16, 2018
It was our 18th Wedding Anniversary and the perfect location and accommodation. The staff was friendly, kind and exceptionally professional. The room was quaint, had a warm decor, intimate and in a peaceful and quite location. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious. My husband and I have already made plans to return. We absolutely loved it!

What a great place to stay if you just want quiet, peace and a get-away from a busy life. Beautiful room and amenities, delicious hearty breakfast, wonderful happy hour and COOKIES anytime! We had to pace ourselves to make sure we still had appetite for special dinners out. The location is great to just step out the door and go for a long, leisure walk in the quaint and beautiful setting of Pacific Grove.

For about 10 years now, we've been going to Gosby House sometime between our anniversary and my birthday. It's always a great experience. Even though we're only there once a year, the office staff recognize us and greet us cheerfully. The snacks and breakfast are always delicious. Even if the weather isn't the greatest, we can sit in front of the fire and read books.

Excellent service and hospitality. Room was lovely. Enjoyed the fireplace. Wine and snacks were great and delicious breakfast. They even had heKthy foods, stevia, gluten free, and stevia!!! A+

My husband and I were in search of a quiet and intimate location near the beach and I but in walking distance to other restaurants and shops and we found it! A beautiful bed in breakfast right in the heart of downtown Pacific Grove. We absolved the hospitality, food and location not to mention the friendly and professional staff. We’re going back again in just a few short months just for a relaxing getaway and a wonderful beach walk. The room decor was absolutely warm, cozy and comfortable.
5 on January 01, 2018
Pacific Grove I believe is the nicest of the the three little towns on the Monterey Peninsula. This B & B did not disappoint, no more than 3 blocks from the beach, centrally located and very quiet. Cute shops and a variety of excellent small restaurants literally on your doorstep. It is an original Victorian and feels warm and inviting. The staff, service and amenities were perfect, Complimentary wine, tea, coffee and snacks in the afternoon added to the ambiance. Breakfast was delightful.

We enjoyed our stay at Gosby House..... Delicious breakfast and very conveniently located. Our room was the only drawback.....needs a bit of repair and the small bathroom was too close to the bed. Good shower, though.

Your staff is gracious and helpful. Ben was a delight! He was very accommodating and had a charming sense of humor. Our room (Jim-Jim) seemed to be under the inside stairs. It was very distracting the first night (Sat.) The combo of probably fewer guests Sunday night and our getting used to the sound made it OK that night. Your building and location are lovely. The food is great. It was our second visit and not our last.i.

We received a gift of a visit to Gosby Hourse and decided to use it around Christmas. The main rooms were well decorated. The staff were freindly and competent. The food service was adequate, but unimaginative. The location was very convenient and the beach was a lovely spot to walk on.

I was attending a yearly conference at the Asilomar Conference Grounds. I like to stay in different places each year. I found the Gosby House to be a delightful place. My room was small, but the fireplace made it quite cozy. Breakfast was amazing and the evening wine and snacks were a welcome surprise. My only concern after checking in was parking since they do not have a dedicated lot, but parking on the street did not prove to be a problem at all. I would stay again!
5 on December 18, 2017
Great stay as usual. This time we tried the Holman room, large room with fireplace and balcony -- really enjoyed it. Sharon who works the front desk is always so friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast never disappoints.

We have stayed at the Gosby House Inn at least once a year for the past 7 years or so. Once we tried a different bed and breakfast in Pacific Grove, but quickly concluded that we need to go back to the Gosby House and not make that mistake again. The house has a very warm and comfortable feel about it. We like the rooms with entrances to the outside. We love to sit by the fire and read. It is a very quiet and relaxing weekend for us.
2.6 on December 14, 2017
Our stay was pleasant; however, for the price the rooms are in need of some updates. The rooms were more along the line of what I would expect for about $200.00 per night, not $315.00

First time at Gosby House- plan to return. A great time of year to visit Pacific Grove and we had a great time at the inn. Would strongly recommend it to anyone.
2.8 on December 06, 2017
We have stayed at the Gosby House Inn many times before. We felt that so many things were lacking. Every time we have stayed at Gosby or any of the Four Sisters Inns there has been a welcome card with our name on it on the bed. This time, nothing. We have always gotten a turn down and chocolates but this stay on our first night they didn't do that. The afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres were just sad. We have noticed for the past several years that their hors d'oeuvres have gotten more and more chintzy to the point that they aren't even worth eating anymore. We used to enjoy a hot dip with crackers or bread and a vegie tray with dip, and usually at least one more savory dish. Now you are lucky if they put out vegies with Ranch dip and some crackers. We found that the people that work there are not as friendly as people in the past. It's sad to see everything change for the worse when they are still charging top dollar to stay in their inns.
3.2 on December 05, 2017
My wife and I stayed for a night to celebrate the beginning of our Thanksgiving break, and it was lovely. This is our second Four Sisters bed and breakfast experience, and it did not disappoint. We stayed in the Judge Langford room, which was small, but we didn't need a huge suite. So that was fine! We would have appreciated the doors being a bit more thick and sound proofed since our room was close in proximity to a couple others, but it wasn't terrible at all. The afternoon wine and snacks along with the other food provided by the Inn is always good. The lemon bars they had in the evening were amazing. The location of the Gosby Inn is awesome. Tons of restaurants in walking distance, and a stroll down 17th takes you right to Lover's Point, and that is a view if there ever was any. We went to dinner at Favaloro's, which was decent. The gnocchi and Argentinian Malbec for dinner was delicious. I would recommend!!! Pacific Grove is a quiet little town that is perfect for a night or two to get away from home and relax.
2.4 on December 04, 2017
Charming house -- room was clean and bright, service was friendly, but common areas were dusty. Also, the common eating spaces were pretty small given the size of the inn crowds, and there were mad breakfast rushes. We tried different times, and one morning we came down and all hot food was gone mid-way through breakfast service. We waited around for a while but didn't end up eating breakfast on the days we stayed. There are several great brunch places in the neighborhood, and we tried those instead.

Our stay at the Gosby house was fine – but for the price, I would’ve expected more. It is right in the heart of Pacific Grove which is a wonderful place to visit. Walking around this area is really great, and we enjoyed our time there. I wish the staff had been nicer, the breakfast had been a little above bare-bones, and the rooms had been less dusty. Also, the old-fashioned gas fireplaces hissed all night, making us worried that there was something wrong with it. It turns out that they are just built that way… A fact that was brusquely told to me by a employee who had obviously had this conversation many times before.
4.2 on November 24, 2017
Stayed 2 nights in Lovers Point room. At checkin, we had to wait 15 minutes to check in as the clerk was away from the desk. Room was perfectly cleaned. Extra nice touch were the birthday greeting balloons that were already in our room. Breakfast was yummy, but no meat/protein the 2 days we were there. Overall, we were very pleased and would go back and recommend to others.

We really enjoyed spending staying at the Gosby House Inn while in town on our 30th Anniversary. We loved everything about this house, its charm, character, location..... Breakfast was amazing and generous with different egg dishes each day on our 4 day stay. Afternoon happy hour was a nice touch when we were around to enjoy it. Our only complaint would be the beds, or more specifically the mattresses. They were very uncomfortable and therefore I could not get a restful nights sleep. As the owner of a B&B in Wisconsin, having a comfortable bed was our number 1 priority. If the Gosby takes care of this they will be 5 stars across the board.
4.4 on November 20, 2017
Loved room 16 "Jim Jim"because of its outside entrance to the street a few steps away from our car. The shower was a little erratic going cold without notice and after adjustment would soon be burning hot; never did quite figure it out. The fireplace in the room was cozy. The appetizers and breakfast were excellent.

This is our second time to stay at the Gosby House and we were every bit as pleased as the first time. It's location on the main street of Pacific Grove makes for easy dining, shopping, and it's within a short distance to the ocean. The staff is friendly, professional and helpful. The atmosphere is conducive to enjoying fellow travelers. We met people from Sweden and Denmark, as well as East Coast people. Breakfast and snacks are always delicious! We'll definitely go back again and highly recommend the Gosby House Inn!

Our favorite inn on the Monterey Peninsula! We've been staying at Gosby House for over 15 years, and it's amazing how well the inn is maintained. It's clear the inn is managed with love and that each staff member takes great pride in working here! For breakfast, there's a bountiful buffet, and a tasty hot dish every morning. We always feel restored and pampered with each stay. We LOVE it! We've stayed here for many birthdays and special occasions -- already booked again for my birthday in February ... Yes, it is that good!!

We got a room they described as small because it was cheaper, and it was small. It had room for a queen bed and some nightstands but not much else. There was hardly anywhere to set our luggage and stuff. The bathroom was a normal size and felt roomy in comparison. The inn does have sitting areas downstairs where you eat breakfast, and they are accessible all the time. We found ourselves sitting on a sofa downstairs enjoying some of the dessert and hot beverages they provide in the evenings. Breakfast was quite good. Each morning they had a hot vegetarian egg dish and a sweet breakfast dish (example - baked scrambled eggs with some cheese in them and crepes with fruit), along with fresh fruit, oatmeal, muffins and breads. We came here for the aquarium. This inn is about a mile away and we chose to walk. It is a pretty flat walk, no hills. The shorter way is to go down Lighthouse, but the more pleasant way is to head north until you hit the pathway along the shore.

Beautiful Victorian House in an excellent location at the heart of downtown Pacific Grove. Bright, spacious, well-appointed room. Friendly helpful smiling service! Breakfast buffet healthy, varied and beautifully presented. Complimentary wine and appetizers in the afternoon a surprise - abundant and tasty recipes. The overall atmosphere of Gosby is so comfortable and friendly that visitors felt it too - we socialized with each other during the breakfasts and cocktails, a plus travel experience. Most of all, great value: our Gosby room was less expensive than other B and B's! Will definitely go back there again! Clay and Eleanor from Vancouver

Gosby House Inn is a cute Victorian style house about a mile from the aquarium, and within a short walk of many restaurants and coffee places. We got a small room which felt kind of cramped. It had no room for a closet but had a little area where you could hang up some clothes. The bathroom was nice and of a normal size. The house does have ample common areas downstairs which I felt made up for having a small room. There are tables and some sofas to eat breakfast at or relax in the evening. Breakfast was excellent. Each morning there was fresh fruit, bread, a muffin, an egg dish and a sweet breakfast dish, and an assortment of hot beverages. They also have wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evenings.

We stayed at the Gosby House 29 years ago on our honeymoon and returned to celebrate this year. It was just as quaint as we remembered. The room was nice, but could use a little loving makeover. We love old homes so it didn't bother us. The staff was outstanding and ever willing to help make our stay more pleasant. Delicious breakfasts and tasty evening treats were something that makes these inns more special than others. One thing we did not remember was the noisy sea gulls who never seem to sleep for more than a couple of hours a night. Because there is no air conditioning and the windows are open their concert cannot be avoided. All in all, we love The Four Sisters Inns and will continue to look forward to our stays at their lovely places.

The room we stayed in was small, but had a Jacuzzi tub! Centered right on Main street, everything is within walking distance. The staff was kind, the food good. Wish we could have stayed more than one night.

Lovely B&B in Monterey. Rooms were very nice and quiet. Breakfast was filling and delicious. Some of the rooms have separate bathrooms - a toilet and shower off the hall but a sink in your room - just be aware if you're booking those.

Gosby House is an elegant, authentic, well-kept piece of history, with romantic rooms and pleasant views. The Staff is friendly and professional, the food (breakfast & afternoon tea/wine) is wonderful, and it is only a few blocks from Lover's Point. This is our favorite place to stay in the Pacific Grove/Monterey/Carmel area.

This was our second time at the Gosby House. The breakfast is really good. Staff was helpful on places to eat and wineries. Our one complaint was the bed was not really that comfortable.

It was an experience not bad but definitly lots of room for improvement as far as the feel of the B&B on a personal level a bit off

My wife and I stayed at the Gosby House in July. The room was beautiful, the service excellent, and the ambience exceptional. The staff is always kind and helpful. We have made it a family tradition to stay at the Gosby House when we are in the Monterrey Bay area.

We loved our time at Gosby House Inn. We were in the Dr. Hart room which is at the front of the house. It was very spacious. If you looked closely and on a clear day you could even see the ocean over the rooftops of other buildings. Everyone was very nice and friendly. The breakfasts were very good. There was a problem with seating but we were told they are aware of the problem and working on a solution. They also have nice wine and hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon. We did get spoiled on the fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Yummy! The area around the Inn is wonderful. Lots of restaurants and cute little shops. Also located about a 5 minute walk down to the beach. Will stay here again. Thank you Gosby House Inn!

Pro: Lovely Inn we have been staying for 30 years... Con: The bathroom shower in Room 13 goes in and out very cold and hot...not a pleasant experience to shower...hope it gets fixed soon.

I felt mixed emotions it was a bit of commercial rather personal , the website did not show accuracy, for the specific room i thought we get room service for the breakfast part??? did not happen though i dont eat dairy, but there was fruit which was great.

We stayed recently and also 3 weeks prior to that. On both stays our shower would go from cold to hot to cold. We have been coming there for over 30 years. We having been staying in that room, almost exclusively. Very disapointed in the shower experience.

Been a few years that we have stayed at a bed n breakfast it was our anniversary 15 years thank you very much I was not let down room was great people and staff friendly and helpful. Only problem I had was that I didn't get a pound of bacon for breakfast but there was a great array of things to eat .we will go back. We had room #20 lovers point it was nice !

First time stay in b&b. Nice experience. Especially enjoyed the full breakfast and happy hours in the front sitting room. Older rooms to be expected are a bit more noisy than in a newer building.

Gosby House provided everything we needed to a very high standard. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast and 'tea' (with wine!) were delicious. We highly recommend this inn.

We live in Oklahoma and we try and visit about every five years- I lived in Pacific Grove as a child and so I come back to relive the good memories- was in the Monarch Butterfly Parade one year- spent a lot of time making the butterflies to put on my costume- great memories- my house off of David Avenue isn't as big now as an adult it was when I was 10 years old. The Gosby House always seems to be our bed and breakfast- the quaintness of just being an old Victorian house- we especially like meeting new people by having breakfast with them, sitting around the table-strangers at first and friends for a moment in time- thank you for the experience- Trudi Barnett - Bristow, Oklahona

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gosby House Inn. The room (TA Worker) had a very comfortable bed and a newly remodeled bathroom. We were especially delighted with the quality and deliciousness of the food served for the daily happy hour and breakfast. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

The Inn is a quaint Victorian house, and it was rather enjoyable. We stayed in the Steinbeck Room, and it was decorated in a Victorian style with many flowers. This room had a sink in it but the private toilet and shower were off the hall. This wasn't too big of an issue, but people do need to be aware of it. This is the only room with the toilet and shower outside of the room, so it was private for us. I did know about it when making the reservation, so it didn't come as a surprise. Our room was ready when we arrived. We asked if we could store some items in the refrigerator, and the host agreed. When we came back from dinner, our bed was turned down with a couple of chocolates on the pillows. We went to Gosby House on a Monday night, and Pacific Grove is very quiet on a Monday. After dinner, my husband and I took a little walk around town. There is a lovely park with a beautiful ocean view down the road. Although it was really quiet on Monday evenings, in the morning, I was surprised by the amount of car and truck noise we heard. The biggest issue is that the room was really warm even with the windows open. The evening was chilly outside, but my husband and I like our sleeping area to have cool fresh air. If you like it warm in the room, you will love it! We never mentioned it to anyone, so it is totally our issue, not the Inn's. There is a wine tasting in the evening and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Both were lovely! It was a sweet, enjoyable evening at the Gosby House Inn. It doesn't have the craziness of Monterey Bay, so if my husband and I go back to the area, I would stay at the Gosby House Inn again. I would highly recommend it, especially if a couple is celebrating a fun occasion such as a birthday or an anniversary. It is a very romantic spot to do this! Have fun at the Inn; we did!

The Gosby House Inn is simply idyllic. It's quiet, cozy, friendly, and on the main street in Pacific Grove. The staff was very helpful and didn't hesitate to call the local Italian restaurant to make reservations for us. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide selection. Everything is made in the kitchen just off the main room. I loved being able to walk out the door and take an easy stroll to Lover's Point or stay on the same street as the Gosby House and hit all the shops and restaurants. You can't beat the location.
5 on May 30, 2017
Room was much more than we expected. There were balloons in the room welcoming us for my husband's birthday. Wine and cheese was great and so was the breakfast. Would definitely recommend and would use again.
3.6 on May 23, 2017
Stayed 2 nights in Rm #14 (Flora's Room) which is on the first floor of the main building. Check-in was welcoming and smooth. Room was as expected based on the website description (the shower/spa tub IS deep and involves stepping over a higher than usual wall to enter). Loved the window seat (overlooks small side garden & side street) and bed was reasonably comfortable. A refrigerator would be nice but ice buckets and ice are available. Parking can be a little tricky in late afternoon. Easy downhill walk to the Monterey Bay at Lover's Point past other beautiful Victorian homes. Breakfast was tasty. Able to reserve an early May stay at special winter discount rates through their website. I would certainly stay again. If you do have mobility issues, I would recommend confirming the location of the room as the stairs to the second floor were a bit narrow and steep.

Spent two nights here recently. Had a great stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room, while a little small, was well appointed with a really comfortable bed. Breakfasts were excellent. Quiche one morning, eggs benedict another and always with plenty of pastries, fresh fruit, juice etc. Love the afternoon treats too.

My husband and I stay at Gosby Inn whenever we visit Pacific Grove because it has proven to be the best inn locally. The staff is starting to recognize us, as we visit this area two to three times a year. This particular inn has everything we need and want when it comes to experiencing a home-like stay. This inn is clean and well taken care of for an old boarding house built in the 1800s. The inn's main kitchen is always bustling with the kitchen staff, which consists of a couple of women, whom turn out to be the best cooks in the area! They cook the breakfast and make up the evening hors d' oeuvres. The front desk is always willing to help, whether you need dinner reservations at a restaurant or taxi service, Some folks complain about the lack of parking. That can be tricky since the inn is located in a busy downtown area. I have never found it to be an issue. Pick your battles. If you have to park your car half a block away, well taking a walk back to the inn won't kill you. Besides, your arms and legs are not there for decoration. We will always stay at this inn, it is the best!!!

I arranged for a surprise birthday getaway for my husband and me. We have stayed there sever times over the past 10 years--and it never disappoints. The service is excellent. The rooms are darling, and very well maintained. We stayed in Room 6, which is quite small but perfect for a single or couple traveling lightly. The bathroom was spotless. The Gosby House breakfast and afternoon hors d'ourves are scrumptious. The location could not be better for restaurants and shopping. And the price is very reasonable for the quality and caliber of the entire experience.

We were given a get away package to the Inn and we were apprehensive! ( concerned about privacy etc). But we had the most enjoyable weekend ever! Our room was charming and quiet!!! Our own porch with a porch swing - so relaxing and peaceful. How special to come in from an afternoon walk and have wine and cheese waiting for you with music playing in the background! And freshly baked cookies before bed!!! Not to mention amazing breakfasts!!! What a treat and surrounded by Beautiful scenery ( and there's the shopping!). The staff is great, so helpful! Really looking forward to coming back.

The proximity to the water was great as we were able to easily walk down to the ocean. The room that we stayed in seemed as though it could have used a little TLC though. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I enjoyed staying at the Three Sisters Inns and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home and wished we could have spent more time there. Parking was a bit tricky, but the having the annual arts and crafts fair right outside the front door, during our stay, was well worth it. The staff was warm and was able to accommodate our request for an early check-in since we came into town to attend a wedding. Much appreciated!

Being a repeat customer we got an excellent value at Gosby House Inn. Had breakfast delivered to our room, very tasty, every detail was complete and on time. Our only inconvenience was room being charged to our credit card when paying cash which resulted in us not being able to use the card for incidentals for 3 days.

This is my fourth or fifth stay at the Gosby House. Enjoyed the comfortable room, afternoon hors d'oeuvres, plentiful breakfast, cookies, and all day hot beverage station. This inn is in a charming town with some cute shops and eateries, and is very close to Carmel and Monterey with many opportunities to shop, fine, experience the Aquarium or just relax and enjoy beautiful scenery. Some of the rooms are very small, and one room had a tub so deep it was almost inaccessible. We had 2 rooms, one was fine but rather stuffy with a deep tub, the other was larger with a lovely deck and small but very adequate bathroom for our needs. The food and service is exceptional. I would have like to have a fridge available in all the rooms. The gas fireplace with a timer is a nice touch.

Our stay at the Gosby House Inn was wonderful. The Inn is very charming and welcoming. All of the staff was extremely friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful seating area with a window that looked out onto the garden area. The morning full breakfast and the evening wine and appetizers were all very tasty and plenty. We will be returning to this Inn for another stay soon.

The area is lovely within walking distance from waterfront and resturants. An easy drive to whale watching. Our room had the toilet and shower in two separate rooms across the hall. Not a problem. The sink in the room was tiny but sufficient. (A way to wash hands in toilet room would be nice.) Amazing breakfast. Excellent poached eggs!!
3.8 on March 05, 2017
We love the Gosby House. This was our second visit. However, we were quite disappointed with our room this time. This particular room is called Reverend Jewel. The room is extremely small, especially for $160 per night. The bed was so-so, disappointing for a Pacific Grove Bed & Breakfast. The room is on the first floor and the one and only window in the room did not have a screen so we felt uncomfortable leaving it open at night not to mention the fact that flying insects would get in. The major issue I had was with the bathroom. The floor in the shower was not sloped or had a lip keeping the water from seeping out into the middle of the room. Granted, this room is considered an ADA room however, Gosby should take measures to improve drainage of the shower by re-grading the bathroom floor and adding an additional shower drain. After my first shower I had to literally use every towel provided to sop up the water that covered the entire bathroom floor. Except for our room issues this time, our stay was very enjoyable. Their staff provides excellent service and the breakfast and afternoon cookies are delicious. We will definitely be back but will never again stay in room #15 Reverend Jewel and I would advise anyone that does not have a disability to not occupy this room either as you will be highly dissatisfied.

My husband and I booked a last minute overnight get away for our wedding anniversary. We looked online on Friday, February 10 for a b & b near Monterrey for Sunday, February 12. Most of the places we found we really expensive. We found a cute little room at Gosby House that was in our price range. When we got there, they had upgraded us to a bigger room at no extra charge since they weren't full. It was wonderful. They had hors douvers in the evening with wine and a decent little breakfast the next morning. We met a really nice older couple who were also celebrating their anniversary. We were close to the beach (3 block walk to Lover's Point) and there are lots of cute shops and restaurants to visit. If we had wanted to, we could have walked the mile or so to Cannery Row in Monterrey but we decided to stay close. I really recommend Gosby House.
5 on February 02, 2017
We booked a "last minute" reservation and received a 34% discount. The price we paid included afternoon appetizers, wine, coffee, cookies and soda. And the best breakfast! Not just a "toast, fruit and cereal" breakfast - they had waffles, crepes, hot and cold cereals, fruit, pastries... it was lovely! Altho it is not on the ocean, it is a very easy walk through a lovely neighborhood to the beach. And it is just a block from "main street" Pacific Grove which is full of charming coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. Not the "touristy type places" that are so common in Monterey on Cannery Row. We will definitely be back! Oh - and room was great - loved the fireplace and balcony.
3.6 on February 01, 2017
There is a variety of choices of rooms. We stayed at Gosby primarily because they were offering a 2 nights for 1 special rate. Would probably not pay regular price for the larger rooms; not because we were unsatisfied , but given the number of other lodging choice in the area.
5 on January 28, 2017
We have been staying at Gosby House about 10 years now - we usually go some time between our anniversary and my birthday (2 weeks apart) and thoroughly enjoy our stay each time. Friendly, helpful staff, great rooms, fun location, yummy food!

Parking upon arrival was a big issue with me alone in a very crowded Pacific Grove during Christmas week. I finally found one 15 minute space after driving around and around for quite a while. Once inside I discovered there is only street parking and all cars must be moved by 11:00am or receive a parking ticket. The stairs were very steep. Perhaps if I had been notified of this I would have left some luggage behind. The food was plentiful and pastries, cakes, etc were delicious. However, the egg dishes were extremely salty and could not eat them. The price of my tiny single room was fine and had all the conveniences. Not sure I would stay there again.
3.8 on January 08, 2017
My wife and I have stayed here several times and have always been happy with our visit each time. The rooms are quaint and full of personality. The breakfasts are wonderful and we enjoy the afternoon snacks as well. The only thing my wife and I have an issue with is the mattress. Maybe an upgrade to nice, modern mattresses and/or memory foam toppers would be wonderful.

Stayed here many times but this was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. Cute but no room for luggage, no closet. Breakfast is good but would be better with some bacon or breakfast sausage, or potatoes with the egg dish. But on the plus side location is great, it's quiet at night, staff are nice and it's a genuine Victorian. Cool.

Beautiful inn. I stayed in the Steinbeck Room. Although the shower and toilet are in separate rooms, it's not inconvenient, and they're just across the hall. Breakfast was fantastic, and in the afternoon/early evening they have wine and hors d'oeuvres that can work as a light dinner. The hotel is walking distance from most points of interest, including the aquarium and Fisherman's Wharf. This is a fantastic B&B and a great place for exploring Monterey.

I treated my boyfriend to a one night stay for his birthday and it was great! They offer complimentary wine and appetizers each night and a wide variety of breakfast foods in the morning. We also got an in-room couples massage which was very nice. It was a bit of a squeeze to fit both beds in the room we chose, and they had to carry them up the stairs, but it was very nice for us. I would stay there again, and wish we could have stayed longer. When I made the reservation they asked me what the occasion was and when we arrived there were Birthday balloons and a nice card in our room. I appreciated the personal touch.

This was our second year staying at the Gosby House Inn and, as expected, it was a fabulous experience from the moment we arrived (early and in need of a space to park our luggage until check-in time) to the moment we departed (two days and 2 nights later). We highly recommend the small extra stipend to have breakfast delivered to your room, and speaking of which...we have stayed, both years, in Jack's Peak (room 23) and also recommend this private & quiet setting (just not the week we will be returning!) The Gosby House Inn, centrally located... within walking distance of restaurants and great shopping - is a delight as is the staff. Seriously...you cannot go wrong here!

Absolutely nice stay in Pacific Grove at this charming Inn. We stayed in the Jack's Peak-room with balcony and a (restricted) view to the ocean. Nice, clean room with all you could ask for and a spacious bathroom with jetted bathtub. We visit the Pacific Grove / Carmel area frequently (eg. a dozen times a year!) and nearly always choose Four Sisters Inn as our home base. Gosby House Inn has such a welcoming staff! It's very apparent from the receptionist, cleaning staff, cook to manager all take great pride in their jobs and the Gosby House Inn. We love that each room is unique in decor and architecture, something to meet every occasion and mood from a short stay to a special celebration! We will be back!

The innkeepers were so helpful at the Gosby House. They made several suggestions of area restaurants, had tickets on hand to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the B & B had a great deal of helpful information about the Monterey and Pacific Grove area. We appreciate the innkeepers keeping us aware of the parking limitations out front of the B & B, as well as future discounts on the Four Sisters properties. We were even given ice packs for our cooler! Delightful stay!

Great little place and staff... only draw was the parking..... spend the time to take a walk for lunch/dinner as better prices are out there

we were travelling from San Fransisco to San Diego and chose Pacific Grove as an overnight destination. What a great place to stay, we loved the town, restaurants, shops, etc. The Gosby House Inn was fabulous and we would go back if in the area. We really enjoyed the charm and beauty of the Inn and the room was perfect. The afternoon wine and cheese, the evening turn down with chocolates and flower, and the breakfast were all well done and greatly appreciated by the weary travelers. I would strongly recommend staying in Pacific Grove and definitely look into staying at the Gosby House Inn.

We liked the fact that there was coffee available all the time. The only problem is the toilet in the Robert Louis Stevenson room sits on a pedestal, causing your feet to dangle as you use the toilet. Unsafe

If you love old charming environment, this B&B is outstanding. The breakfast was one of the good ones we experienced. The price however is a bit on the high side.

We were traveling from SF to SD and this was one of our stops. We were so pleased with the Inn as well as the area. The inn iolder well kept and run very well. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the evening turn down with flower and chocolates was a nice touch. Very cozy place allowing people to get together in the evening to chat and make new friends. The breakfast wraps very good and we loved the proximity to all oth the tourist areas such as cannery row and the aquarium. I would definitely stay there again.

A very warm welcome and spotless comfortable rooms. The breakfast which is freshly prepared especially the muffins, was excellent.Pacific Grove is a beautiful place and perfect as a base for exploring the Monterey and Carmel area. If i visit this area again I hope Gosby House is available.
5 on July 19, 2016
I have visited many B&Bs nationally and internationally (including in Monterey) and Gosby House stood up to the very best. It is conviently located in old Pacific Grove within easy walking distance of boutique shops and a variety of dining options as well as being a short distance from the bay and Cannery Row/Downtown Monterey. The rooms are good size for an older (1886/87) property and well appointed. The grounds are inviting and well maintained. The breakfast, though buffet, is very good and the afternoon wine, crudités and hors d'eouvers very accommodating. Evening coffee, tea and dessert is awaiting your return from dining. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the personal touches most welcoming. Turn down services, chocolates and personal notes in the rooms are inviting and a full array of tv options and free wifi consistent with expectations of today's properties. We will definitely stay again. Russ Lindgren Folsom, Ca

This was the second time my wife and I have visited the Gosby House Inn. Definitely very pleased with the visit! The Dr. Hart room was FANTASTIC, my favorite room now! Wonderful character with bay window overlooking Lighthouse Street, nice spacious room design, a charming queen size bed with a quilt that kept us very comfortable during the cool evening, bathroom and shower very clean. Bonus: street lamps acted like night lights for our room, that was a nice touch! Complimentary wine, coffee, hors d'oeuvres, breakfast all outstanding too! Restaurants within walking distance very good as well! We will certainly be coming back!

Enjoyed stay at the Gosby House. Dr. Hart room was spacious, comfortable, and relaxing. Thank you for the champagne and the chocolates. Enjoyed the afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres, and coffee; evening cookies; and the cooked breakfast in the morning. Missed the lemon bars, quiche, pizza, and after dinner liquor that we also enjoyed during our last stay in 2015. Will probably return to Dr. Hart room next time. Thank you.

The inn needs a little attention, but this does not detract at all from the Inn's comfortable and nicely decorated interior. It is right in the center of Pacific Grove's charming downtown area with its many shops and eateries. Delicious breakfast and wine and appetizer hour.

Gosby House was one of the best accommodations we had in a 7 week trip. They provided nibbles and drinks each evening as well as a lovely breakfast. The B&B is in a heritage house and Pacific Grove has a lot of character and charm

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience at Gosby House Inn. I would have given the onsite dinning a higher rating if the hot portion of their breakfast had more variety. They did offer a lot of fruit, carbs (bagels, toast, English muffins, etc.) yogurt, cereal and other cold items. The room was a nice size for me although my husband wanted it bigger. The location of Gobsy was so ideal to shops and the beach/ocean area. Parking on the side streets is not limited and you can park in the front of Gosby until 11 am. Overall, we would definitely stay here again. They have great specials during the winter and spring.

We went for a quick overnight stay at our favorite Pacific Grove B&B. The breakfast was great and so is the staff.
3.4 on April 28, 2016
This inn is marketed as a high end bed and breakfast but overall I think it is just OK. My wife and I have stayed at many B&B's over the years. The staff was great and the breakfast was very good. The room had a few problems....the bathroom fan sounded like a diesel truck. This is something that was obviously ignored and not fixed for some time before we got there. The lock/door knob for our room did not give a feeling of security...it was loose and the door could rattle loosely when closed/locked. So it seems there are maintenance issues here that detract from the enjoyability of the inn. I would search for a different place to stay next time.
5 on April 21, 2016
We got a great offer, two nights for the price of one night and all my expectations were met. My husband and I had a beautiful master bedroom on the first floor with a small private patio facing the street. It was lovely decorated, very roomy, except for the small bathroom and very clean and airy. Definitely recommend the Inn. The breakfast offered many self serving breakfast dishes and fruits. We parked on the street without any difficulty. We will come back for sure.

It was the best birthday ever.

For the price point, The Gosby House Inn is the best we have found in the Pacific Grove area. There was an ample Happy Hour and a tasty breakfast, and our room was nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and professional, The only possible negative was we stayed in the Steinbeck room up front in the turret that faced the street, and the street sweepers come out on Tuesday mornings at 445 AM, and loop around again at 530 AM. BUT we stayed Saturday night also and Sunday was whisper quiet. For the price we paid, I am VERY happy and satisfied and we will definitely visit the Gosby next year.
5 on April 05, 2016
Gosby House Inn is a very central place to stay in the lovely town of Pacific Grove. The front desk person on check-in was great and recommended a few places for us to have dinner etc. The room was beautiful and comfortable with a great view toward the water. The inn is just a quick walk away from the water and the walking around Pacific Grove is perfect.
4.8 on March 28, 2016
Value and excellence from start to finish. Unless you require perfectly level hallways (NOT a feature of this old house) you won't find a place with more charm and quality for a price like this, maybe anywhere.

This was our fifth visit to the Gosby House Inn. It is in a wonderful location, and close to restaurants and attractions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We stayed in the carriage house around the back of the Inn in Jack's Peak. The room was spacious with a fireplace, refrigerator, coffee maker, whirlpool spa tub, shower and balcony. The room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The breakfasts are outstanding, with wine and hors d'oeuvres offered from 4:30 to 6. There is an evening turndown service. Everything about this Inn is perfect. We will be back

Gosby House is a beautiful Inn in the Victorian style. The rooms are spacious, have fireplaces and new bathrooms, at least in our room. There is a delicious breakfast with home-baked good and a nice array of fruit, breads, eggs, yogurt, etc. In the afternoon, there is wine and cheese. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is within walking distance for most venues.......you could live here.

We were delighted with our cozy house in Pacific Grove. We were warmly greeted by Ben, we shared wonderful afternoon appetizers and wine with other guests, and then went to delicious restaurants all within walking distance from our House. The rooms were well-appointed, clean and we had a cozy fireplace to add a special bit of cheer. The breakfast was especially wonderful. Every morning was something new, even items for those who were gluten and lactose intolerant. Plus as an added treat, some great little baker in the kitchen always had a few cookies in a jar, 24/7 I hope we can return again someday.

Another birthday, another celebration! Birthday balloons, chocolates and a rose at turndown! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the staff made us feel like honored guests, remembering us by name from earlier stays. The fireplace in the room gave such a cozy feel to the room in the late evenings and in the early mornings -- also the room had been freshly redocorated!. The breakfasts were memorable and the cook here is incredible, and always an nice variety of dishes and beverages presented for breakfast! Cookies in the evenings for those who like sweets, and a pleasant happy hour helping all to relax before dinner! Even the hallways are bright and cheerful! Such a well run inn, we return several times a year!

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and loved it, and once more last year. We were able to book the same suite as our honeymoon- #22! It is a beautiful room, very comfortable and with the added bonus of a balcony with just a bit of a sea view. We notice, however, a bit of cutting back in terms of breakfast. While the second day was wonderful (spinach crepes), the first day (egg casserole) was not "outstanding", though adequete. This would be our only possible criticism, and it is mild. On the whole, we loved our stay once again, and enjoy the staff here as well!

My husband and I totally enjoyed our mini getaway at Gosby. The staff, accommodations, food, wine, other guests were more than we expected from a B&B. Looked forward to breakfast and afternoon "happy hour" to visit with other guests and enjoy the delish plates. Gosby was truly friendly, very comfortable and you can't beat the location. Everything from ocean, shops, yummy restaurants and lovely residential neighborhood. We would love to be able to return to Gosby from Colorado later this year. Thank you Gosby...you were just what we needed!

Stayed here during my winter break from school, right after the New Years. It was an awesome experience in such a cute & charming inn with delicious food & kind workers. The shower stall in my room (Dr. Hart) was a bit small. There was a single strand of hair on 2 of the pillows. It was not something I was expecting & I'm sure other guests may not be happy if they saw that on their pillows either. Other than that, everything was nice & exceeded my expectations.

Stayed for two nights on New Years weekend. Very pleasant staff. Cozy, well appointed room. Situated right in the heart of a wonderful little town. Many things to see and do within walking distance. Yummy choices each morning for breakfast. Appreciated the Cream Sherry nightcap when our day was finally done. We took our wine out to the back seating area our second day and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Well kept, well run - hope to be back soon.

We stayed only one night, on New Year's Eve, and got exactly what we wanted: peace and quiet, comfort and warmth. The fireplace in the living room was a cozy place to read, our bedroom was just the right size with space heater and comfortable bed, and the breakfast in the morning was an amazing array of homemade goodies: oatmeal, muesli, crepes, egg dish, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, good coffee. They even have almond milk and gluten free bread available on request. Nice staff, too!

The house was clean and our room was ready when we arrived. Staff helped us with our luggage. There was a variety of food every day. The PM treats helped us satisfy the need to eat when we came home from the day's events to rest before dinner. The house was accessible to everything. We did not even use our car to go anywhere. Walking to the seaside to go to the aquarium was fun. Taking pictures with the rough sea at the background was awesome! The only negative is we were not able to see the lighthouse because it was only open from 1 to 4pm. But we enjoyed the stay in the house.

If you don't like boring motels, this charming victorian is a good alternative. We enjoyed the sitting rooms downstairs, also used for breakfast, and our room and bed were very comfortable. I could hear the tv in the next room for most of the night, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. We made a last minute reservation and could only get the room listed with the bath and shower in the hall. It turned out to be just a toilet in one room, and the shower in another room, with a small sink in the bedroom, not one full bathroom as I assumed. It was ok for one night and the price was very reasonable for the area.
5 on November 11, 2015
This is the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Gosby house offers a wonderful and generous wine and appetizer gathering and home made cookies through out the day. These gatherings gave us the experience of meeting some very nice guests during our stay. The last time we stayed we cancelled our dinner plans since we so enjoyed just relaxing in the wonderful atmosphere of this Bed and Breakfast. The included breakfast is also quite generous and delicious. We only wished we had stayed longer.

My husband and I like to take a retreat now and again from our busy lives. As we both work in luxury hotels, it's a nice switch to be on the other side of the desk. We actively seek out Four Sisters Inns as we have now stayed at least 5 of them. The service is always friendly and consistent at every property we stay at. This trip was extra special as we were celebrating our 1 yr wedding anniversary and also enjoying a short babymoon as I was 8 months pregnant! We were immediately charmed by Gosby Inn. It was like a step in the past. We stayed in the carriage house which was separated from the main house but a little bit more exclusive. We loved our private balcony, our deep jet bathtub and all of the unique furniture. The best part is that it was all such a wonderful welcome away from our noisy citylife. And the staff were kind enough to put a couple balloons and s sweet note of congratulations of our anniversary. We took advantage of the complimentary hor dourves and the breakfast in the AM. Always a delight!

My wife and I stayed on a weekend and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Steinbeck room which has a stunnning view looking down Lighthouse Ave. that is beautifully light up at night. This room does not have its bathroom within the room, but it does have a sink within the room which made having the bathroom down the hall much less of a nuisance. Breakfast was good and the afternoon wine/snacks were nice. We especially liked the Sherry that was available in the evenings. The location in the middle of town is great with many outstanding restaurants within two blocks. We did not have any problem finding parking. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the Lover's Point room and absolutely enjoyed our stay. We decided to take a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary and I couldn't have pictured a better place to stay. The hotel staff was great, the location was within walking distance of plenty, and the room itself was a nice treat. Even when there was a power outage that affected 55,000+ people, the staff did their best to make all of us comfortable and still provided us with our morning food and beverages. I can't thank the Gosby House Inn enough for making our weekend worth remembering.

Stopped here on our way down California on our road trip. We wanted a relaxing place after having to drive all day and that is exactly what we got. Our bed and room were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was big and the water pressure was great. The only thing that wasn't amazing but was still really good was the breakfast. It was the usual cereal, muffins, fruit and quiche which were all delicious. We have just been to bed and breakfasts that offer 3 course breakfasts before so it did not amaze us. We would definitely come back here again. We loved the small town, wish we could move here!

I had seen the Gosby House on several occasions in my travels through the area, but had never had a reason to stay. My Girlfriend came to visit from Canada, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to stay. We were not disappointed. The room was clean, and nicely decorated, the turn down service at night was a nice touch, and the Breakfast, Wine and Cheese, and Nightcaps, were all nice additions. Would definitely stay here again.

We'll going back to Gosby House Inn relatively soon. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and Pacific Grove.

My wife and I have stayed at the Gosby House at least once a year for the last several years. It is a great place to stay and we highly recommend it. We have stayed at various other PG B&Bs and prefer the Gosby House, due to location, price and quality of the rooms. The food is perfect for us, relatively basic and not too heavy, but tasty. My only suggestion for them is to improve their Internet connection. It is functional but not very fast. That said, we will be returning next year to the Gosby House for another wonderful weekend in Pacific Grove, you should too!

Very helpful, we added an extra night at the last minute and they gave us a nice room and moved our luggage for us. Nice personal touches like evening turn down service.

Pacific Grove would always be my choice to stay when visiting the Monterey Bay area. Gosby House is well positioned within Pacific Grove close to nice resturaunts, a short walk tyo Lovers Point, and easy to find on the main route along the Bay. The room was great, the breakfast was outstanding, and the staff was helpful.

I fell in love with Gosby House Inn from the moment I stepped out of my car. This place is wonderful. I would love to come back one day! Each evening when I returned to my room there was a rose and chocolate laying on my bed and my bedding was turned down for the evening. Delicious cookies at 3 pm and wine, cheese, vegetables and appy's at 4:30! Restaurants and the Ocean just minutes away! Beautiful beautiful city!! Love love love the history of Monterey! I love this place!! My favorite part was breakfast. Fabulous buffet!! Soooooo good!! Ben, who worked at the front desk was super nice and very accomodating! Next time I will book one of the rooms facing the back courtyard... I think mornings would be quieter.... 5/5 for this gal!

A very pleasent b&b in close proximity to the Monterey highlights as well as the Pacific Grove shoreline. The service is of a very high quality. Breakfast was good and exceeded my expecations. You will always find a willing-to-assist staff, who is knowledgeable. Highly recommanded.

Gosby House Inn is an ideal place to stay in Pacific Grove, CA. It is in a convienent location in the cute and quiet community of Pacific Grove. It is a short walk to Lover's Point on the Bay. The food and rooms are great.

We greatly enjoyed our anniversary getaway at the Gosby House. Room was very nice and the food great.

This place is wonderful. I will be back for sure. I love all the little touches; turn down service with rose and chocolate, warm cookies at 3 pm, breakfast brought to you in bed, balloons and a note from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. A quick walk to restaurants and the Ocean at Lovers Point. I love this place. Room 19 was in the back patio and I loved having that separate french door entrance.

Our daughter has stayed here and recommended it for its charm, great breakfast, and the wine and cheese happy hour. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at that time and the beds were so comfortable. Great location. We will most definitely return.

Found this B & B totally by accident and I'm glad I did. Great service, clean rooms, and quite a spread for breakfast. About a mile from the aquarium and you can purchase tickets at the front desk so no lines! You are also within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay here again when I return.

Great location on main street, Caleb and Ben were helpful and friendly. Afternoon hors d'oeuvres and delicious morning breakfast. Just a few blocks from ocean. Great shopping and restaurants all down the street. Cozy room with flat screen and private bath. All we needed. Pacific Grove is an adorable community with lots to do in area including Pebble Beach Golf, Aquarium and of course Rt. 1 along the ocean.

My husband and I have stayed at the Gosby House many times in different rooms. This was our first time in the Robert Louis Stevenson room. As usual, it was beautiful and the people and service was wonderful. Breakfast was a treat, with each dish delicious. We had plenty to eat. The coffee was good, too! I love the turndown service with the chocolate on the pillow. Small detail, but I wish they had two ply bathroom tissue. It was so thin I felt like I was using half the roll each time.

We stayed in the Farley Room. The room was lovely. Sitting in front of the fireplace at night was delightful. Everyday after sightseeing coming we came back to appetizers and wine. There were several good restaurants within walking distance and the weather was perfect. Breakfast was delicious. Staying 4 nights, we enjoyed a different hot egg dish each morning with a variety of fruits, breads and standbys of oatmeal and yogurt. We met guests who shared suggestions for our visit which we were able to fit in our plans. It is a fabulouse B & B.

We're frequent sleepers with the Four Sisters Inns and have stayed at the Gosby House Inn many, many times over the past 15 years! In recent years, amazing as this seems, it gets better and better each time! My husband and I had the most relaxing and enjoyable weekend last weekend... the breakfast was absolutely delicious, and omg, the cookies!!! Normally I am not a cookie eater, but I ate 3 cookies in one evening ... I would buy the cook's cookbook if it's published! We can't wait to go back!

My husband and I have been coming here for years. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff is wonderful, as always. The wine and hors d'oeuvre are a nice touch, and my son especially enjoys the homemade cookies after dinner. The bonus for us , of course, is that they welcome children. We stay at the Gosby House at least once a year, and we are never disappointed.

My wife and I stayed in room 14, Flora's Room. The room was very nice and comfortable. The location of the room was very convenient, being located on the first floor just around the corner from the reception desk. My only disappointment was the size of the tub/shower combination; the tub was too small for either my wife nor I to fit in unless showering. Our favorite part of our stay was the afternoon Wine & Hors D'oeuvres. We expecially enjoyed this time sitting in the comfort of the front common room in front of the fire place. Over all, we loved our stay and plan on returning when possible.

A Spring Break trip to Monterey Bay with our daughter couldn't have been made more perfect thanks to the staff and the accommodations at The Gosby House. We arrived late afternoon just in time for the wonderful hors d'oeuvres. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. The rooms were absolutely charming with the antique furniture and décor. The breakfast choices were outstanding, and even our finicky teenager found lots to love for meals! We have memories to last forever and hope to visit and stay at The Gosby again.
3.8 on April 16, 2015
We arrived to a cozy room that was cleaned and prepped with a couple of balloons, a greeting card, and a personalized "happy anniversary" card. The room we picked was on the smaller size, but we spent most of our time outside of the inn. Lots of shops and restaurants are located on the same street. It is also a short walk over to Lover's Point. The front desk was polite and informative on the different times for events. We missed the wine tasting but we did have breakfast. It was a simple breakfast with options like cereal, muffins, oatmeal, toast, bagels, and warm quiche. Overall, it made our anniversary a little more special.
4.4 on April 15, 2015
We were really happy with our stay at the Gosby House Inn. It was close to everything and just a few blocks (easy walking distance) from the beach. We stayed in a room separate from the main house. It was a great room with lots of privacy. The breakfasts were phenomenal. The only less than perfect thing was the WiFi. It was pretty iffy out where we were.
3.8 on April 14, 2015
We were celebrating our anniversary and the accommodations were nice; however, there were a couple of families in the rooms next to us that allowed their children to run from room to room. It was a bit noisy.

This was my first time staying at Gosby house. This quaint B&B exceeded my expectations. The complimentary breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, great coffee, overall many choices. The room rates were also great compared to the area. I will recommend this place to friends and family. I will be returning soon!

Stayed 2 nights in #18 Julia - room with outdoor entrance. Lovely room with f/p, jacuzzi tub. Very nice and roomy! Within 2 blocks of many good restaurants, in nice safe area for walking; only 4 blocks from the ocean and Lover's Point. Stayed another night at end of trip in #7 upstairs. This room was very small with no seating area. Recommend choosing larger room if at all possible.

I have stayed in several B&B's and The Gosby House Inn was outstanding. I am a travel agent and would recommend this B & B to everyone. The room was quaint, the breakfast was delicious. There was a lot of choices for breakfast. The afternoon wine and snack foods were a real treat after a day of sight seeing.

The stay was wonderful for one exception. There was construction across the street due to a home remodel that was was very loud and started very early. There should be a notice about that, or no guests should stay in the back building until the. Instruction is complete.

My husband and I love visiting Gosby House a few times a year to get away. Staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable, and food is good. Can't beat the location! I came myself this weekend for just some me time and to enjoy the beautiful beach. I stayed in room 16 which can be a little noisy. We prefer other rooms such as 1,18, and 20.

This is a very good value. Within a block of two of the best restaurants in Pacific Grove. Staff accommodates gluten allergies and will prepare eggs without dairy. I live in SF and my mom came to visit me from San Diego last weekend. We decided to do a mini-getaway together and go down to Monterey. I would HIGHLY recommend The Gosby House Inn. It was super cute, nice and had everything you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Their breakfast was like an upgraded continental breakfast with more options and homemade items than I expected. There was always tea, coffee and cookies/cakes in the afternoon and a little wine reception at night. The location was the best part. Right in the middle of Pacific Grove, next to tons of great restaurants, little shops and a cute bookstore/coffee shop. It's a short walk down to the beautiful beach/coastal area too. I'm glad my mom and I stayed in Pacific Grove, so much personality. The Inn really made the experience too!

A great place in a pleasant neighborhood near restaurants and the seaside (Lover's Beach). We stayed in the Robert Louis Stevenson suite, room number 5. It wasn't cold enough to use the fireplace, but it would have been nice. Breakfast was different each morning and very good. The evening reception included wine and a freshly made snack. One night we had spinach dip which was delicious. Overall a most refreshing and most excellent place to stay.

Gosby House was a very welcoming, clean and comfortable place to stay. My husband and I arrived around 4:30 just when snacks of fresh vegetables, crackers and a good selection of cheeses were being put out. Both red and white wines were served. And for those with a sweet tooth, a delicious dense chocolate cake. What a welcome! With renewed energy we took a quick stroll down to a delightful park on the bay, then returned for a delicious supper at The Red House just across the street from Gosby House. Our room, just off the dining area, was very quiet and with the fireplace, became very cosy. Breakfast the following morning was scrumptious! I would return in a heartbeat.

Great inn, near all the activities in Pacific Grove, Monterey and Carmel. We had a nice suite and the common areas are great. They serve a very nice breakfast and the staff was very helpful. We met several folks that have used the Gosby House for up to 20 years. That is one of the best recommendations when guests return again and again.
4.4 on November 17, 2014
I gave the room a 3/5 only because it was not mind-blowing. I have seen better rooms in less iconic locals. That having been said, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the room. It was clean, quaint and comfortable. Certainly the food deserves a mention. They offer some of the best homestyle cooking I've had at a B&B (and if you want you can get the cookbook). The service was also very good: friendly and accommodating. What I like best about Gosby House is the location. It's located on the corner of a little string of shops. It's quaint, quiet and absolutely adorable at night. The divided street makes you feel like you're in a village square, and the sidewalks are lined with little lamps that give it that warm Thomas Kinkade feeling at night. Also the shops are nice if you like window shopping or overpriced antiques. Coffee and pastries available down the street--unless you prefer in house... you can't go wrong really.

My husband and I had a delightful time at the Gosby House Inn. Greeted with delicious pecan squares and light snacks, we felt welcomed immediately. The inn is located nearby many restaurants and quaint shops. The restaurant we selected to try out was about a 15 minute walk. The queen size bed in the Jim Jim room needs replacing. I wasn't able to sleep well, probably due to my husband's tossing and turning. I could feel every turn and toss on the other side of the bed. The morning breakfast was substantial, nothing too gourmet, but very tasty and filling. We would come back and stay again in the future.

The morning breakfast was delightful, a full compliment of hot and cold breakfast foods, each meal better than the last.

My stay at this charming B&B was very nice. The staff is welcoming and helpful. We were surprised by the 4:30 tea time/happy hour. They served coffee/tea and a homemade cake, as well as wine and light appetizers (veggie tray/chips & salsa). We sat in the parlor and enjoyed chatting with the other visitors. The rooms are decorated very nicely and everything is in good working order - not always the case in older homes that serve as B&B's. There is no air conditioning - not a problem for us in October, but something to note for the warmer months. I would definitely stay at the Gosby House Inn again.

The Gosby House is a lovely place set in the heart of beautiful Pacific Grove near shops and fine dining. It is a very short walk to the beach and Lovers Point. We stayed in the Holman Room which was lovely and very cozy. It was our anniversary so when we arrived, we had balloons and a very nice card in our room. Each night chocolates were left on our pillow with turn down service. The breakfast were bountiful and very tasty. We also booked our room with a special deal which made it very very reasonable compared to other places in Pacific Grove.

Stayed the weekend at Gosby House again (have stayed there a weekend or two every year for the last decade). Great location, nice room, overall good experience (there is a reason we keep coming back). Highly recommended. We have stayed at most of the B&B's in PG over the years and this one is the best value. The food could be improved but that is not the reason we go to B&B's nor a reason no to choose Gosby House.

My girlfriend and I came down for one night and loved our night! The appetizers with afternoon wine were great, as was breakfast! The rooms and the entire inn are adorable. As a heads up, after 8pm the doors lock. The man who greeted us told us to use a side door (which we were never shown to). Turns out the front door is fine to use, but be warned that the lock is kind of sticky and counterintuitive. Overall, we had a great time!

Great food, wonderful people and walking distance from the beach. Whale watching and wine what else could you ask for. Can't wait to stay there again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Room 3 for a quick getaway.. it was perfect for a night. Great location. Only issue with the room was that it was right at the top of the stairs. Other than that, the wine during the evening was lovely and breakfast in the morning was great!

We stayed at Gsoby Inn for our 20th marriage anniversary. It has been a fantastic experience in a romantic cozy location. We will go back there for sure!

This was the first time booking with a B&B, so i wasn't sure what to expect. After staying here, my wife and I are actually more inclined to book with B&B's in the future vs. big hotels. The community was quiet and genuine. The room was really nice and very clean. The staff and service were outstanding. I would highly recommend staying here.

Gosby House Inn was a good choice for our one night stay in Pacific Grove. Our room was quaint. We had an issue with our room but the staff addressed our concern and dealt with it expeditiously. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely dining room. I would definitely recommend this place to other travellers.

My husband and I spent three nights at Gosby House Inn last week. I had carefully selected this inn after searching on-line and looking at many lodging choices in Monterey, CA. As my rating indicates, I was well pleased with the inn. The staff was courteous. The morning breakfast and evening wine and hors d'oeuvres exceeded my expectations by far. If we should ever return to Monterey, we will stay here again.

Stayed 1 night - staff very helpful & friendly. I stayed in what had to be the smallest room which I knew going in, but it is really small. There was barely enough room to place my bag. The sink is in the main room, not the bathroom. But very comfortable, nicely decorated. The grounds were very pretty. There was no fan in the room, and even though I opened the window the room seemed too hot. Overall I would stay here again, but probably not in that same room.

The inn was perfectly situated on a corner of the main street with lots of cool business within a short walk, plenty of parking & 2 blocks from the rugged & gorgeous coastline (Bayline?) When we arrived were greeted by Ben who was most hospitable. he got us situated, made dinner suggestions and reservations for us that evening. the inn was charming, the rooms were comfortable & well appointed. breakfast offered a nice variety of fruits, homade muesli, egg dishes etc. delicious! (i find myself craving their muesli.) In the late afternoon there was wine and selection of appetizers then sherry &sweets (homade cookies & cakes etc) put out for the evening. We love the Gosby House & Pacific grove & will definitely get back there!

My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon at the Gosby House. 20 years later, we were back for a very nice weekend getaway to celebrate. the service is always excellent, and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. My only issue is that I wish there were a bit more room somewhere to stow our luggage, which always seems to get in the way.

I would have liked some bacon, ham, or something other than the droll eggs served day-in, day-out. I guess that's what I get for staying 4 days.

My stay was only for one night but it was perfect. The people working there were all very kind and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. .and they also have several menu's of the restaurant's in the area so you can already decide which one to go to. I would definitely come back.

We are repeat guests at the Gosby house. They are a little pricey in the summer, but their winter specials are great. During the course of a year, it averages out fine, price-wise. An excellent bed and breakfast. Clean, roomy, delicious breakfasts and snacks.
4.2 on August 11, 2014
My husband and I visit Gosby House almost every year for our anniversary. We love the Monterey Peninsula and find Gosby House to be the most reasonably priced place to stay. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. We enjoy the wine and cheese in the afternoon and the cookies and sherry at night. Breakfast the next morning is always very good. Staff is very friendly too. HIghly recommend this place!

Searched for months for places to stay in and around Monterey Bay. Was looking for quality out of the tourist fray. The Gosby Inn in Pacific Grove was completely perfect. It is a short walk along the water to Monterey Bay. Our room was large with a balcony, fireplace, and private bath. Complimentary breakfast each morning included eggs oatmeal, cereal, fresh breads, fruit, coffee and juice. It was delicious. We were able to get our Monterey Aquarium tickets on site and avoid long lines when we got there. Restaurant suggestions were perfect and there was water, coffee, and fresh cookies available throughout the afternoon. We were thrilled with the choice and would absolutely stay there again.

My husband and I got away for just one night for our anniversary. We could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived until we checked out we were treated like royalty. We will definitely be back.
5 on August 04, 2014
We stayed three nights. The food was very tasty. The house was very clean. The only complaint was the parking. If you stayed in the house during the day you had to be sure to move your car every 2 hours. We stayed during the week so the parking was not too bad, can only imagine what it would be like during the weekend.

Went back with my daughter after being there 21 years ago with my husband, and it was just as quaint as I remembered. The location is great; close to the shore, and within walking distance to restaurants (Passionfish was one of the best meals of our whole week long stay in Napa, S.F & Monterrey) and other attractions. They went above & beyond by having balloons in our room as I had indicated we would be celebrating my daughter's college graduation. Food was great at the wine & cheese reception as well as the full hot breakfast in the morning. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return! (hopefully before another 21 years goes by!)
4.2 on July 31, 2014
The room was quiet and did not have any disturbances in the hallway or street traffic. The variety of room choice are large and very accommodating with all amenities. They turn down your bed at night and leave chocolate and a rose to welcome you! The "Happy Hour" was very nice. It actually had a nice variety of fruit, crackers, sweets, and even a hot artichoke dip. Your choice of white and red wine, coffee, tea and soda offered upon request. The late evening still had sweets and a sherry liquor for your enjoyment. The Breakfast catered to the vegetarian that may have stayed by not serving meats. The choices of egg casserole, steel cut oats, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, home made muffins, bagel slices, and toast were enjoyable. They served Orange and Cranberry juice, along with coffee and tea. It is located on a main street that has many restaurants and shops that are all in walking distance of the B & B.We will return and look forward to staying once again. I would recommend The Gosby House Inn to anyone who wants to get away.

We love the Gosby House, this was our 3rd stay with them. Service was excellent as usual, They even has gluten free bread for me at breakfast. We had a downstairs room facing 18th street this time, we usually stay upstairs in the carriage house. Very nice large room with a patio. I just wish there were screens on the windows for security purposes and to keep the bugs out. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and nice little boutiques for shopping.

The room was beautiful and very quiet and private. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The only problem was that the sink in room we stayed in had a very bad odor. We had to brush our teeth using the bathtub faucet. We did let the staff know and they offered to use some type of chemical to take care of it, and they may, have but it's didn't help. They told us it was a common complaint for that room. We'll come back, but we will avoid room 21. Hopefully this will be fixed one day because the room was perfect otherwise.

We were there the Fourth of July week, when prices are higher. Over all, we love the Gosby House and have stayed at the Four Sisters Inns many times. The staff is always great and professional. The wine and cheese and the breakfast was very good at this Inn.
3.6 on July 02, 2014
Relaxing place to stay. Generally quite a few people about in the common areas of the house, and especially at breakfast time, things were a bit crowded and hectic around the food. Our room on the ground floor was subject to the very noisy plumbing of the neighbors above - a rather unromantic detail.

This is probably the 4th or 5th time we have chosen to stay at the Gosby house in Pacific Grove. There are lots of B&Bs in the area, but this is one of our favorites. The rooms are nicely arranged with plenty of amenities. And the breakfasts are super! And they run special discounts throughout the year.

We arrived to a beautiful carriage house room, phenomenal service and a quiet idyllic retreat. We loved the peaceful ability to be alone with others. Downtown Pacific Grove is a treasure and Monterey Bay a gift.

Gosby House was the first stop on a 6-day getaway for our 40th anniversary, and the second time we have stayed there. We played golf prior to check-in, and settled into a clean, comfortable, pleasantly decorated room. We decided the bottle of champagne in the evening and breakfast in bed the following morning were worth the extra cost, and we weren't disappointed. It's proximity to PG Golf Links makes it a natural whenever we come down to play again, and worth the drive even from Black Horse/Bayonet. Thank you for starting our celebratory week off in such fine fashion. We look forward to being back soon.

We have stayed at a number of Four Sisters Inns over the years and have enjoyed them for their comfort, character, and wonderful breakfasts. As always, breakfast was the highlight. What a beautiful spread of delicious choices. Our bed was comfortable, as always at these inns. I would, however, suggest that this particular inn might benefit from a bit of updating. The aroma from the old sink in the bathroom was strong and sewer-like. Phew!!! I hope that the problem was corrected before the next guest arrived. We enjoy staying at the Four Sisters Inns because they are unique and special. I just hope that they consistently keep the inns updated so that they maintain the level of excellence for which they are known.

Our stay at the Gosby House was a last minute decision and we are very glad we stayed. The check in was great and the staff professional and very gracious. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable. The front desk called us to ask if we would like reservations at a local restaurant and they did, which was perfect. Our stay was very nice and positively memorable.

Loved the old-fashioned feel... nice antiques in our bedroom, VERY comfortable mattress. The breakfast is to die for, not to mention the afternoon wine and heavy "snacks" (more like a mini-meal, and delicious). The location on Pacific Grove's main street is very convenient.... walking distance to terrific restaurants, nice shops, and a short stroll to the ocean. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night.
4.2 on March 03, 2013
Great deal for a sweet little inn away from the hustle of Cannery Row. The wine and cheese hour plus breakfast was better than expected and the food was very nice. Staff very helpful and friendly. Only suggestion was the menus of near by restaurants were outdated. The one we chose then walked to was closed due to a fire. Also, the addresses of the restaurants weren't on most menus.

My husband and I decided to take a romantic getaway trip for our 8 yr. anniv. We chose this B&B because of the reasonable price and the photos online. The room was amazing and the atmosphere was soothing. We stayed one night and really enjoyed it. I do agree that I was under the impression it was run by the owners and not a staff but they were friendly. The park we liked the best was each room had its own bear you could adopt and I felt it was a sweet and romantic gesture to be able to take them home. One negative is the parking. They do not have their own parking so you have to hassle a little. I would stay again.

Nice...pacific grove is a cute little downtown. The problem was that I had thought it was on the water down by lover's point. (That b&b is The Three Gables.) But the Gosby Inn is cute in itself and the breakfast was amazing.

My wife and I stayed at the Gosby House for 2 nights for a much needed quick getaway. The staff is friendly and the overall place emits a friendly, elegant, and cozy vibe. The full breakfast was good, and the afternoon wine plus evening sherry set the right mood. The location is great, being walking distance to some of Pacific Grove's finest restaurants and shops. My only issue was the bed: both my wife and I found the bed a bit uncomfortable, so we didn't sleep as well as we expected. Of course, some guests may find the bed to be just perfect, but for us it was too firm and a bit lumpy. All else was great.
3.4 on March 26, 2011
This is a beautiful house on a really nice street for walking and shopping. The informal but impressive breakfast gets the day off to a great start. The street is lined with cute shops and very good restaurants (Red House and Favoloro's Big Night Bistro will both surprise you). It's also an easy walk to the aquarium and Cannery Row, and the staff will be happy to give you directions. Highly recommended.

We prefer a bed and breakfast to a hotel, and for good reason. The house was lovely, the staff courteous and friendly, and the food was very good. We also enjoyed our evenings chatting with the other guests in a comfortable setting with a fireplace. The Four Sisters Inns are our favorites.

My husband and I were very pleased with our stay. When we checked in we received some great tips, including the coastal walk from Petaluma to Monterey and driving the 17-mile drive. We purchased the dining package and enjoyed a very good meal at Fandango. We were in Room 13. It's right off the lobby/dining room which probably scares some folks away, but there is a double set of doors which blocks any sound. We thought noise might be a problem, but it wasn't at all. It has a nice little private balcony with a porch swing that we enjoyed. Breakfast was full and delicious, and we received more great local tips when other guests joined us at our table (driving Big Sur and a snack at Post Ranch Inn)! We would recommend Gosby House to friends and visit again, for sure.

My wife and I have spent the last six or seven or eight January's at the Gosby House in Pacific Grove. This last January we spent time in three different rooms each very comfortable. Each morning after breakfast we take a long walk along the ocean about three blocks from the Inn. The biggest decison we make all day is which way do we go today, left or right. Left is definitely better with views of the ocean waves crashing along the rocky coast. The weather has never been a problem for us as we always dress in layers for our walks. The breaksfast each morning is always filling. The one thing I would like to see added to the menu is breakfast meat such as bacon, sausage, etc. Another benefit of visiting in January is the specials the Inn offers. Two nights for the price of one brings us back each year. Also the tourist season is mostly at a standstill and walking or driving to the many dining options is never a problem. The Monterey area offers many things to do for visitors of all ages from the Aquarium, to golf, sightseeing, the 17 Mile Drive, endless shopping and so much more. We have already booked our reservations for January 2011. Be sure to try the Fish Hopper restaurant on Cannery Row. Wonderful meals

I spent two nights in the main house, and found it very nice, Although run buy employees, the personal service provided, made you believe they were the owners. Breakfast was above average and very nice room and ineterior spaces to socialize, and garden as well. The only intial negative was the on street parking, but that proved not to be problem, as you could park right in fron of the B & B. I made one unusual request and it was attended to promptly and efficiently. Monteray also was a nice place to stay in with numerous resturants and shops.

The staff was very polite and friendly, the breakfast in bed is fantastic, and the room was splendid. At night we sat by our fireplace together. In the morning you have a choice of coffee houses to choose from and it's a great location. The Aquarium is just down the street along with walk along shopping and great resturants. YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE! We LOVED it!!
