We have made this our home away from home for years.Jim and Ayla make us feel so welcome and truly seem to enjoy what they do. Heartily recommend the experience. Pam and John Gipson

Cute place, nice people, issue noise

3.2 on March 26, 2018

Hosts are very nice and helpful. Yummy casual breakfast in room. Downtown so easy to walk to shops. We stayed in two rooms, both were cute. The first was an older style that I like, though smallish bathroom. The next night we were in the King room above the office -- bigger, more updated, big bathroom. Nice garden in the back. BUT be aware that there's a loud hum there from the restaurant next door that's quite noticeable -- and more so from the office/king side of the hotel. It goes all day, from about 10am to 10pm. (I think a different time range on weekends vs. weekdays.) I even asked about noise before coming, and they'd said some people notice a fan, making it sound minor, they thought maybe it was fixed. But to me it was more impactful than that. I personally didn't find it restful to be there in the morning once it started, or during the day, say for a nap. So consider how much that matters to you, and weighing it with other factors you might be considering.

Best Place too Stay

My Husband and I have stayed here 4 times and each time have had a great experience, the Bed and Breakfast is in walking distance to shops, great places to eat and view the beauty of Mendocino. Best of all the breakfast they bring to your room is amazingly delicious.

Lovely stay

Very charming place with wonderful service, at a price point that makes Mendocino a bit more accessible than some of the other places in town. We look forward to staying here again.

Christmas time visit

5 on December 23, 2017

After a long drive on a very wintry day, I arrived at Seagull Inn to see the lamp on in the window of my room, which the hosts had already heated for me. Such a warm and welcoming stay, from start to finish. I'd never been to Mendocino during the Christmas season, and the inn looked beautiful with its twinkling lights, the wreath on the door, and boughs & ribbons decorating it like an old-fashioned Victorian Christmas. Just perfect. My very favorite place in Mendocino.

Delightful B&B!

5 on December 19, 2017

We visited the Inn for a weekend getaway and were not at all disappointed! The room we had (Driftwood) was spacious and had lots of windows. There's a small gas fireplace/heater that was all we need to stay cozy and warm during the sub-freezing nights. The room was clean and well-appointed. The staff that greeted us upon arrival (Laura) was cheerful and helpful in pointing out local "to-do" activities. The proprietors, Ayla and Jim, are gracious hosts and we really enjoyed spending time with them. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous! Across the street from the Inn, we walked around the headlands and took MANY photos for an hour or two. The restaurants and coffee shops were all unique and enjoyable. I heartily suggest Moody's Organic Coffee Bar as well as Patterson's Pub. The Mendocino Hotel has a gorgeous lobby that's worth stopping in to see; and you might as well have a cocktail while you're there! There are a plethora of breweries and wineries to visit as well. We'll be back!!!

Wonderfully Funky B&B

3.4 on December 01, 2017

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Sea Gull Inn, the room was clean and the staff was genuinely friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast which is, muffins/danish, yogurt, fruit, and coffee; brought to the room, which suits our needs because we usually eat a smaller breakfast. I recommend this Inn to anyone who likes old, but well maintained houses, this building has rain gutters made from Redwood, now that's funky! And quite wonderful.
