My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. There are only four or so rooms so it's a small but quaint B&B. We wished we had walked down to the corner restaurant for breakfast to get a better feel for the town and town's people.

We loved our stay at the McCloud River Inn. There were so many nice touches, and the laid back attitude of the town of McCloud was reflected in the easy living that McCloud River Inn offered. The breakfasts were outstanding, and the conversation with fellow travelers was superb. We'll definitely return.

We stayed in the off season. It was quiet and peaceful. The staff was so accommodating. Loved the water - pure and delicious. Wish I had chosen a room with a bathtub - so I could have bathed in it. Took the package with a massage included. OMG - best massage of my life!!

My GF and I stayed in the same room we shared a year prior. Still beautiful, still peaceful. People are warm, food/coffee is good. McCloud is paradise in the alpine hills (shh - it's still a secret). The building is old and spacious. The dorm-style shower head could use a little work. Expect a journey back in time.

My wife and I traveled up to McCloud to enjoy some peace and quiet without our kids for our 5th wedding anniversary. We booked the Waterfall Room. A very cool, cozy room with a HUGE jet tub for two. We booked the romance package which included chocolates and a big bottle of champagne. There was a problem with the jet tub the day before we arrived, but they were able to get it fixed before we arrived for the weekend. They even discounted our room rate. The breakfast is very tasty. You get plenty of food. You do eat breakfast at a family table in the dining room with the other guests that are there for their stay. We got very good service and I would recommend anyone wanting to get away for 2-3 days to stay here. We happened to be in town during the BlueGrass Festival which was also a fun event to attend. There's plenty of nice shops, hiking, fishing and things to do in McCloud. It is such a pretty town, really a breath of fresh air. We will definitely be back!

A lovely overnight stay on my way to Reno. Service and helpfulness of the staff was excellent. Clean and tidy, loved the bedding. The breakfast was excellent and delicious. The town was fun to explore in the morning before I hit the road. (couldn't get the "Outstanding" buttons to work in the review process)

We enjoyed our stay at the McCloud River Inn. It met all of our expectations, was very nice. The McCloud River Inn does not have "Onsite Dining" in the sense of dinner, but it does have breakfast. Staff and owner were very hospitable, and I would recommend McCloud River Inn.

Loved, the Inn. The room was cute, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a nice relaxing evening away from work. We had dinner at the local McCloud Hotel and it was absolutely delightful. We stayed in the "Waterfall" room with the spa tub. While it was a nice large soaking tub, the jets did not work.

I stayed at McCloud River Inn for 2 nights in last week of December 2016. I was traveling with family - two of us, along with our 2 kids. I stayed in Mother McCloud Suite. Our stay was great, and staff was very accommodating. I was traveling with a child with special need, and was made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was great too. Room was beautiful & cosy, bathroom was clean, and beds were really comfortable. Only thing I can suggest for improvement is internet. We had no signal in our room, and room had no TV too. Not that I'd complain about that, but it becomes a necessity sometimes when you're traveling with children. This place has its own rustic charm, and it's not your cookie cutter hotel (and that's what makes it special). We would like to go back! - Ram Dwivedi

Ursula was a wonderful hostess. She switched out our wine for sparkling cider, at our request. Breakfast was tasty, hot & fresh each morning. Mike made delicious cookies that awaited us both evenings. The history of the Inn is amazing. Such a wonderful stay! Thank you!

Overall our stay was very relaxing; Although the room was dirty on arrival. Mirror in bathroom was splattered with dirt, I had to dust room at the beginning of our stay, and under the bed was very dirty. I think they need to be more diligent about cleaning their rooms. Towels also smelled like mildew. Room was very cute but very dusty. It was so quiet! Very relaxing and we felt very welcome! The gourmet breakfast left something to be desired; we didn't eat breakfast on the second day. Gourmet breakfast consists of a cut of fruit, a cup of orange juice, a banana muffin, Keash. If you like coffee and Keash then it's the perfect place for breakfast! No meat, no potatoes, not even tea for non coffee drinkers, everything was made with bananas so you have to like bananas too. Ursela was so kind and did anything she could to make you feel at home. Mike was nice too. It would be perfect place to stay if breakfast was better and the towels/ rooms were cleaner. We really enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely stay again but I would bring my own breakfast and duster.

Each room of this historic building is decorated to take you back to the grandeur of the Victorian age and still offer the comfort of modern amenities. We had a wonderful time celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary at the inn. Everything was clean and comfortable. I wanted to take the bed home! The breakfast is delicious and the hosts, Ursula and Mike treat every guest like a dear friend. There was nothing negative and I've been recommending this place to everyone.

We always enjoy ourselves at this quaint and very hospitable B&B! Staff are diligent and friendly, the Inn is beautiful inside and outside and the location is superb. The breakfasts are always fabulous and even though we checked in late, there were still warm cookies for us downstairs. Soon there should be snow up there too!

Just east of Mt Shasta is the delightful little town of McCloud. Within this town is the McCloud River Inn, an old mill company office transformed into a terrific B&B. The character of the old mill is maintained with our room being one of the old offices complete with wood paneling and plenty of natural lighting. A warm welcome by one of the proprietors, Ursula, including a tour of the old building, a private bathroom and a great breakfast make this B&B one of our favorites and certainly on our list for a return stay!

This is probably the cutest inn I have ever stayed in. The decor throws me back into the past in the best ways. I walked around to the vacant rooms to check them out. They were all beautifully decorated. Our room was roomy and comfortable. The bed is wonderful. I have a hard time sleeping away from home normally but slept like a baby. The breakfast was delicious. I definitely want to go back for another visit when I have time to explore that area.

What value; $99 package for a lovely suite of well appointed rooms, quality linen and comfortable beds, spacious and a fine breakfast. The $25 gift certificate the outdoor recreational store took the cake. The BnB has lovely common spaces and a relaxing atmosphere. There was no staff there when we arrived; a help yourself orientation but there were yummy cookies to greet us. The only compliant I would have was the small bath towels but next to the pluses this was very minor. We will definitely stay there again when we travel to the Mt. Shasta area.

This place is right in line with other quality bed and breakfasts. The place is nicely kept up and has a great atmosphere. Inn keeper is professional and friendly. Check the Inn's website for specials. We booked a great special that made this a real value (normal prices are still fair, but it's nice to get a good deal).

Ursula and staff are top notch! Room was very nice. The fresh baked cookies when we arrived were awesome!! Quiche for breakfast was the bomb! Even the people staying there were very nice! Rooms were quiet. One couple was worried that their 10 month old kept everyone up...we never heard a peep!! We will definitely be staying there again!

A bed so comfortable we didn't want to get up, except we didn't want to miss the generous and excellent breakfast. Isn't that what a bed and breakfast is supposed to be? The house was once the administrative offices of the lumber company that owned the town, and there's lots of history around if one is interested. Our room, Switchboard, was large, beautifully decorated, and comfortably furnished; however, thankfully, traditional decor stopped at the door to the modern and functional bathroom. Our hosts were helpful, interesting, and kindly kept hot water for tea available all day long (since it was either raining or snowing, we worked and read in our room a lot).

We decided to stop in McCloud en route to an event in Oregon, and are glad we did. The inn is very nice and the service friendly. A nearby hike to waterfalls along the McCloud river was recommended which we thoroughly enjoyed. Freshly made cookies were an unexpected treat on our arrival!

My husband and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary by getting away and staying at this Inn. We loved the beauty of the area and the gorgeous Inn! Our first sight and smell when we walked in were from the the delicious plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies that were there for all the guests! Our room was perfect and we loved relaxing in the whirlpool tub for two right in the bedroom! Not far from the Inn are amazing places to hike and see the breath-taking falls! This was my favorite anniversary celebration by far and we really hope we can go back soon! Thank you Ursula, for taking care of us! PS. We loved the breakfast quiche, yogurt and fruit too! I stayed at the McCloud River Inn during Memorial day weekend. The room I stayed at The President's Map Room was so cozy, comfortable, and very spacious (even a both room was spacious). Breakfast was delicious each mornings. Fruit with yogurt was served beautifully, and the main plate followed. Coffee, tea, and home-baked cookies are available all day. It took 15 min or so to get City of Shasta, but I enjoyed driving on 89. Scenery was beautiful. Also, there were a lot of places to see and visit in McCloud. Highly recommenced!!

This was my second visit to McCloud River Inn. Despite my disappointment over a last minute dog sledding trip cancellation, my sisters and I had a wonderful time exploring the Shasta region, having a wonderful birthday dinner at Wayside Café and enjoying the hospitality of Ursula and her husband Mike. The full breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, and Ursula allowed us a late checkout while I consoled myself with a pedicure and manicure at a local salon. The cookies in the afternoon are soooo good. The town of McCloud is a friendly place to visit and central to the Ski Park and other area attractions. We are planning to be back for the Christmas season with more of the family to stay at the Inn.

Stopping at the McCloud River Inn was a one-night stay with our intention to make it to Ashland, OR for a matinee the next day. The snow began falling just about check-in time (6PM); we saw a note and keys in the welcome box directing us to our room, but Ursula and Mike hadn't left yet. We had scheduled a meal in Dunsmuir (around 15 miles away) and after quick hello's and their opinion that the road from McCloud to Rte 5 would be navigable without chains so far, we had a great dinner at Cafe Maddelena. Our trip back was uneventful except that the snow covering Rte 89 was not insignificant. We slept hoping the snowfall would stop. It did not, and by daybreak McCloud was a winter wonderland with chains required from McCloud to the freeway and on the freeway well past the Mt Shasta cities heading north. We were served a delicious frittata for breakfast by Ursula and discovered Mike piecing together a set of cables to get us on the road. He mounted them and showed me how to handle them. I offered to pay for the cables and his service and he waved me off. Long story, short....the cables held out through the snowy portion of I-5 headed up across the Siskiyous, and we made our matinee at the Oregon Shakespeare festival with 20 minutes to spare. Next trip we will plan some more leisure time in McCloud, which looked to be a fascinating step into an earlier time and Southern side of Mt. Shasta. The hosts at the McCloud River Inn have two new fans. Ed and Rina, Santa Cruz, CA

Stayed here as a gift, we will be back. The rooms are huge, nicely decorated. We looked at all 5, every one was outstanding. Food was excellent, nice array of things to pick from. Nice big screen TV in one room, plus a fun sitting area in the back. The Innkeeper made cookies every day, not fair to make the house smell that good. Stay here, it's a nice location, right next to the main street, very short drive to restaurants in town and also to town of Mt. Shasta. Very friendly staff, gave us some great dinner ideas.

I have stayed at the McCloud River in on 4 separate weekends and consider it a unique and enjoyable place. It has an excellent location, is quiet, the room was ornately decorated and furnished and spotless. The food is always something new and excellent. I highly recommend anyone visiting the McCloud area to try it-I almost guarantee they will return time and again as I have. Bill Malosh Sacramento, Ca
