Victorian Farmouse Getaway

4.0 on April 25, 2016

We spent a peaceful, relaxing weekend in this beautifully renovated Victorian farmhouse. The gardens are lovely. We went wine tasting and bird watching at the lake. A weekend to remember.

Innkeeper Response
We are happy that your weekend provided you time to relax as well as explore. The recent rains have expanded the bloom in the garden. Hope you'll bring a good book and give yourself time to read under the trees next time.

Idyllic Farmhouse

4.0 on April 13, 2016

Elegant, beautifully restored Victorian farmhouse set in lush, lovely gardens. Heritage trees and old-fashioned roses. Breakfasts were delicious, even though I was a challenge because I'm allergic to eggs. The most serene, relaxing weekend my husband and I have had in a very long time. We intend to go back.

Innkeeper Response
We hope you'll return to relax and rejuvenate. Our grandson (also allergic to eggs) has sent us some of his new favorite breakfast recipes to share. Thank you for posting a review.

A Gem in Lockeford, CA

5 on May 24, 2015

We chose the Inn because we found the chain hotel Stockton offerings boring. The Inn is definitely not boring. The original woodwork, the lush gardens and the extraordinary breakfasts are all special. The Inn is listed on the national historic register and comes with a fascinating family story

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for finding us and enjoying your stay. Love your review! Come again as there is more California history to discover around here.

Our stay was met with pleasantries in several ways: a warm and friendly reception, a room that was inviting, beautiful decorated, and comfortable, a relaxing garden to stroll through, and breakfasts that were wonderfully prepared and graciously presented! We look forward to another stay with the hosts and at the Inn at the Locke.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for letting others know how much you enjoyed the many aspects of the inn and its surroundings. At this time of year, we find many little treasures growing in the gardens and such interesting birds migrating through.

Fantastic Valentine's weekend

5 on February 18, 2015

We had a wonderful stay in the Inn at Locke House. The house itself is beautiful, and the hosts were friendly, warm and made us feel completely at home. And the sheets are the softest we've ever felt. Seriously. Go just for the sheets. The Lodi area was a revelation to us - we've lived in Northern California our whole lives but have never spent any time in this region. The wineries were excellent, the town charming - good shops, good restaurants - just very fun. And the Inn was the perfect base for exploring. Close to town, but far enough away to feel like you are in the country. We whole heartedly recommend the Inn for a great get-away.

Innkeeper Response
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We think this area is also an undiscovered gem. Did you know that Stage 2 of the AMGEN Tour de California will end in Lodi May 11? We've got a great Amgen weekend special on our website! Look forward to seeing you again.

Largest of the Main House rooms, Abington has views of the front and bluff gardens. A favorite for extended stays. Like the other rooms, it features an armoire from the Civil War Era and has a gas fireplace. The desk, table and chair afford you space to write and gaze out at the lovely views. Its private bathroom with large corner shower is outside room. Of course, we provide robes for your use!

Once used as a small study, the Bridgewater is a favorite for readers and private "retreaters" who can look up and see the rare Asian evergreen tree just outside the front windows. Like its private bathroom, it is done in pewter and blues. The private bathroom outside the room features an antique clawfoot tub with shower in tub. Again, enjoy use of our cozy robes and the warmth of the gas fireplace in winter.

The most Victorian of the Main House rooms was considered the "best" bedroom in the Lockes' day. Its private bathroom features an antique clawfoot tub with shower in tub. Sitting at the corner table/desk you can view the lovely pines just outside your window.

Coziest of the Main House rooms, the Berkshire with its cheerful yellows has a great view of the bluff gardens, especially of the lovely persimmon tree. It's bathroom - also in yellow - has a large shower. In winter the floor is heated - just as are all the Main House bathrooms. You can view the fireplace from your bed or as you sit in Mrs.Locke's lovely rocking chair.
