The Camellia Inn is simply charming and that charm is matched by owner operator Lucy and her staff. My wife and I went there to celebrate her birthday and stayed two nights. The location is ideal as you can drive out to visit wineries (there are dozens of choices within a 15 min drive) during the day, come back to the Inn after a couple then visit one of 30+ wineries on the Healdsburg square that you can walk to from the Inn. Then it's off to dinner on the square at any number of excellent restaurants. Since the Inn has parking this is all super easy. I also love a morning and evening swim, so be sure to pack your bathing suit as the pool is secluded and lovely. All in all this is an oasis of serenity and the perfect getaway.

Wonderful bed and breakfast within walking distance of Healsburg. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Cypress House, a two bedroom condo/apartment in downtown Healdsburg owned by the Camellia Inn. It was beautiful and super clean and in a great location. We stopped by the Camellia Inn and the ladies there were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and such. Can't wait to return again! We didn't eat at the Camellia Inn, but we have eaten there on previous visits, the food is delicious!

This is a lovely B&B with a great location, clean, spacious rooms, and a very helpful innkeeper.
3.8 on October 01, 2015
this is a wonderful little inn where the owner meets you at the door, and all the guests gather for wine by the pool at 5 pm. We felt like we were meeting up with old friends rather than people we had just met. The room was very clean, and quiet. We had a great night's sleep. It's within easy walking distance of the town square.

The Camellia Inn is amazing. The rooms are clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. It is very close to downtown Healdsburg and the grounds of the inn are beautiful. Most of all, Lucy, the innkeeper, is incredibly hospitable, attentive and has wonderful recommendations. All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay while you explore wine country!

Lucy is a wonderful innkeeper and went out of her way to do everything she could to make our visit perfect. The breakfasts were outstanding and the wine and cheese by the pool were so pleasant. The best B&B experience we have had.

Loved Lucy, the breakfast, the room, the sunday paper, etc. Great place to stay in Healdsburg.
3.6 on August 04, 2015
We stayed in the two bedroom apartment in The heart of the downtown. The apartment was very spacious for two couples. The location was right on the main strip however it was very quiet at night. We would definitely go back there. The rating for on-site dining was low because if you stay in the downtown apartment you don't have on-site dining.
4.6 on June 10, 2015
I recently stayed at the Camellia Inn during the Healdsburg Jazz Festival. I stayed in the budget room which although small, did not at all detract from the great breakfasts, evening wine & cheese pairings, and Lucy's unique ideas for spending time in the Healdsburg area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camellia Inn. We were delighted to find out we had been upgraded to a larger room upon arrival. The entire Inn was charming and perfect for a getaway for two. We greatly enjoyed visiting with the other guests at the nightly wine and cheese event and at morning breakfast. The staff at the Inn was incredibly helpful and guided us to some fabulous food and wine spots including advice as to where to stop on our journey to Northern California. I truly hope someday my husband and I are able to return to this sweet historic Inn and stroll the streets of Healdsburg again one day. It was our favorite place on our ten day trip to Cali.

We stayed in the apartment for my daughters wedding. It was better than we expected and overall absolutely perfect. The Camellia Inn was helpful and accommodated our needs beyond belief. Apartment was bigger than we expected and was just great!
5 on June 01, 2015
The Camellia has set the bar for us. The bed was so comfortable with luxurious linens. The Inn is beautiful and Lucy and her husband make you feel very well cared for. The location is perfect for walking into downtown Healdsburg. We typically don't stay in B&B's, but the Camellia changed our opinion completely!

My wife and I are from Boston and spent a night at the Camellia Inn while we toured through Sonoma. Lucy, who runs the Inn, was friendly and fantastic to deal with. Our room was large, clean, and the breakfast was delicious. This Inn is right in downtown Healsburg within minutes of all the great restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops. We highly recommend the Camellia Inn if you are looking for a place to stay in Healdsburg!

My daughter and I stayed at the Camellia in this past week - having made a reservation for only one night originally -- we asked if they had a room for a 2nd night. We loved the ambiance of each room and the decorating was outstanding! Breakfast was another wonderful experience. Absolutely amazing breakfast was served both days and we would venture another trip just to stay there again! Thanks to Lucy and Archie and their fabulous staff. deb & michaela

Having never stayed at a bed & breakfast, I was a little apprehensive about the experience. The Camellia Inn was amazing! Our room was very clean, cozy, and comfy. We had a queen 4-post bed, fireplace, and spa tub. The room had a private entrance off the breezeway which made it very convenient to access. A major plus was the onsite parking. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Each evening had wine, cheese, and crackers available for a few hours. Coffee, tea, cocoa, and cookies were also available throughout the evening. The pool looked very inviting, however I did not use it during this trip. The walk to the square was within five minutes. Service was great! We received wonderful recommendations for dinner and wineries along with a map. I definitely recommend and would love to stay here again!

A favourite B&B for us, this was our 2nd stay here in the budget room - a real bargain by any standards. Lucy's baking and breakfast cooking remains outstanding and the house is a gem. We met lovely people at happy hour in the house - another bargain. This B&B is extremely well run and I discovered that the staff has been there for years which tells you something about working conditions and loyalty. All shops and main street are within walking distance. Other guests loved the new restaurant one block away called La Vallette, just opened a few weeks ago. We were lucky enough to be there for an in-house concert of guitar and Irish pipes in March. Lucy has a music series so check it out on her website.
5 on March 27, 2015
The room was charming, clean, and spacious; the price very reasonable; the included breakfast really delicious; and Lucy was friendly and attentive.
5 on March 23, 2015
Lovely, lovely, lovely! Lucy is a charming hostess and the Inn is an architectural gem! Tastefully decorated with period pieces but not at all stuffy, we immediately feel relaxed upon arrival. First class amenities like luxury sheets and soft robes made us feel pampered as well. A true respite.

Accommodations were better than expected. We stayed off site at their Cypress house while visiting the Inn for Wine tasting. Everyone was very courteous and helpful. We are looking forward to booking another vacation and staying there again.

Lucy and her team are wonderful and made our stay most enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the Burns night - what fun. I look forward to staying at the Inn again.

We stayed in Cypress House, a 2 bed/2 bath appartment downtown. The location was great - just a few blocks from the downtown square. We were next to shopping and banks, but it was very quiet. The fold-out sofa in the living room was comfortable - I'm not kidding! There's a great kitchen with all you need to cook a nice meal. All with garage parking and a security gate. I will definitely go back and stay here again.
4.6 on November 20, 2014
The Roost was perfect for our stay. Room was cleaned daily. We never partook in the dining due to meeting with friends, but there was service for hot tea during the day. Loved being so close to the square yet far enough that the evenings were quiet. Loved our patio where we could sip wine until dinner and the camelias were absolutely gorgeous! Will definitely stay here again!
4.2 on November 05, 2014
We were in the area for a wedding and this was the perfect place. It's just off the beaten path to be quiet, but close enough to all things downtown to be able to walk . Great service with great recommendations and yummy breakfasts.

My wife and I stayed for only two nights on October 2014, to visit the Vinyards. We were very positively surprised with the Camellia Inn and her onwers; what a beautiful experience in termos of building, locations, hospitality, etc. This is our first time in a Bed & Breakfast and we loved it.

Lucy was a delightful host and was full of good information about the town and surrounding areas. The breakfast every morning was divine! I would strongly recommend the Camellia Inn.

We recently stayed at Climbing Rose Cottage in Geyserville and had a lovely time. The cottage was more than we had expected. Fully self-catering and well equipped, including a much appreciated hot tub to soak weary running muscles (we ran a half-marathon). The cottage is about 3 houses away from the main street of Geyserville where the restaurants and wine tasting rooms are, you couldn't ask for a better location. The house is very clean, comfortable beds, has a fireplace and a nice garden attached. Felt safe and was quiet. Ideal. Highly recommend.
4.2 on October 27, 2014
This place was a perfect location. Everything was walking distance. We stayed here because we did the half marathon run. The race was not far at all from our room, it was just a perfect day for running. Then afterwards we went to have cocktails to celebrate our finisher...lol

We enjoyed our brief stay and were sorry not to be able to stay longer. The house was very comfortable for our three person family. No dining was included. Many restaurants nearby.
4.6 on October 05, 2014
We stayed her last year and came back again. I liked this B&B because you can walk to town, the inn keepers are helpful but not intrusive, there is lots of community space ( living room, pool) to spread out in, and you can have breakfast anytime between 8:30 to 10. Great value for Healdsburg.Highly recommend.

We made our first visit to Healdsburg and Camellia Inn the first of September for 4 nights. We stayed in a king deluxe room, which is quite spacious. Comfortable sleep is important to us and the Inn provides it. Our room was amazingly quiet and the bedding was so nice, I heard several people express interest in ordering sheets. Also, the pillows were not too thick. My neck is most appreciative. Bottled water was placed in our room every day and breakfast was perfect, offering variety and interesting conversation around the table. The only downside to our room would be a spa tub shower, requiring some agility to climb into and there are stairs. I think the description in the website covers that and there are other rooms to choose from if that is a problem. The location is great for seeing Healdsburg. One block and you are in the shopping, dining area. We walked to dinner every evening; no need for a car. Lucy, the innkeeper, was very helpful, getting winery and dining reservations for us. All in all, a great place to stay.

My fiancée and I stayed for one night, and that's our biggest regret of our stay: not staying longer. Healdsburg and the Camellia are brilliant. Hindsight being twenty-twenty, we would have cut a day off our stay in Mendocino and spent it instead at the Camellia. The room was small, but had everything we needed-- plus we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The wine and cheese happy hour was a perfect welcome, and it took us a lot of willpower to pull ourselves away to go and get a proper dinner in town. I would highly recommend staying here to friends and family, and in fact already have done so. We agreed we need to come back.
3.8 on September 03, 2014
The cottage was very well kept and comfortable for our family. Lucy was great at getting back to us on our questions in a timely manner and providing suggestions. The only issue we encountered was a shortage of parking. It wasn't always clear to us where we could park and if our car might be towed. The Dining rating didn't apply to us as the cottage did not include breakfast.
4.4 on September 03, 2014
My group of friends stayed at the Climbing Rose Cottage, which is off-site from the main Inn, about 10 minutes away in Geyserville. We LOVED it. There were five of us friends reuniting and we were so happy to have a whole house to enjoy together (rather than be split up in hotel rooms without common areas). We sat outside under the orange trees, drank coffee with our feet in the outdoor hot tub and watched movies in the living room. We loved the location. There was just enough in Geyserville to meet our needs...a coffee shop for breakfast, a mini mart for snacks and drinks. We felt in the middle of all the winery options and really enjoyed our surroundings. The rooms were clean and accommodating. It was a private place where we didn't worry about making too much noise. Over all it was such a pleasant experience and I would certainly recommend to any small group or family wanting to stay together. (Keep in mind that it's not attached to the regular B&B, so breakfast isn't included!)

3.0 on August 24, 2014
Comfortable room with nice lines and bedding in well maintained, historic B&B. We were not able to take advantage of the outdoor pool, but imagine that is a nice feature on a hot day. Wine service in the late afternoon provides a meeting place for guests, but we were disappointed in the quality of the wine served since Healdsburg is in the heart of great wine country.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Camellia Inn. It felt like home. We stayed in the Queen room with a Jacuzzi and it was a great way to relax after a day of wine tasting. The wine and cheese hour was also a great time to trade stories with the other residence. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a nice quiet getaway.

I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced bed and breakfast experience!

Charming Inn! Lucy and Archie were very friendly and helpful. They suggested some fantastic things to do in the area that we did not know about before and were so glad we did go. The wines and cheese evening reception was superb. They served world class wines that we gladly drank :-). The location is excellent for walking to the best restaurants and the plaza. Our room was very charming however I am a "sheet snob" and would have preferred nicer/more cotton bed linens, but for the reasonable rates we are not complaining. Thanks you guys!

Very friendly run business and very welcoming and willing to help in any way they can. Only thing I wish they had a TV in the room and I understand that this was a bed and breakfast place. But sometimes you want to watch the news etc.
4.6 on July 16, 2014
Camellia Inn is a gorgeous place to stay. The furnishings both in our room and in the public areas were lovely and comfortable without feeling like you were in an antique museum. The vibe was laid-back California cool. Our room and bath were spacious enough for the two of us. The guest room iPad came in handy when looking up information. Breakfast was self-serve from several buffets next to the formally-set dining room table. Lucy and staff were on hand to keep the coffee pot filled and to answer guests' questions. Lucy and the staff know Healdsburg intimately. They gave great recommendations on wineries, dining, and the Tuesday night Healdsburg concert in the plaza! It was a treat to not only look forward to afternoon tea and cookies, but to enjoy pre-dinner wine and cheese out by the pool! It was very easy to talk to the other guests under these very sociable settings! Camellia Inn is a short 2 to 3-block walk to the center of Healdsburg's shops and many restaurants. Camellia Inn made our wine-tasting trip to Sonoma really special. I would definitely book a room again at Camellia Inn if I were to return to Sonoma County.

The Camelia Inn is a lovely home with lots of interesting features such as fireplaces and collections. The inn keepers were low key but helpful. The inn is very conveniently located within wlaking distance of the town square and excellent restaurants. The surrounding area had a wonderful selection of wineries that you could drive or bike to. The delicious breakfasts and poolside wine and cheese servings provided a chance to meet other guests and share experiences.

We booked the apartment as it seemed very convenient for our one night stay in Healdsburg. I believe though, we missed out on a typical Camellia Inn experience based on the inn's ratings. The apartment is worn down and definitely needs a refresh. The carpet should be replaced throughout and the decor needs some attention. Beds were comfortable and it is very convenient to the downtown area. We were hoping to show our friends who like luxury hotels that B&Bs are the way to go but unfortunately, this didn't do the trick!
4.8 on July 08, 2014
We arrived at the charming inn and were immediately shown our lovely little room in this restored Victorian after which we joined a few other guests for the afternoon wine tasting. The inn is very friendly but remarkably private and quiet. it is just a block off the main square and was perfect for our weekend stay. Delightful and an exceptional value as well!
4.8 on July 07, 2014
This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. I really didn't know what to expect. The inn is charming. Our room was very nice and very clean. I didn't like the sink outside the bathroom but the bathroom is nice and updated. There is no central air but the window unit kept the bedroom cool enough. The breakfast was great and we loved the wine and cheese in the afternoon served by the pool because the weather was so nice. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything they do at the Camilla Inn.

Lucy, Archie and their staff are consummate hosts at this charming B&B/Inn. The breakfasts are outstanding and the pre-dinner wine and snacks served by the pool add an additional personal touch. Camellia generates a warm and comfortable vibe amongst all of the guests. Healdsburg is a fantastic base for touring the Dry Creek, Russian River and Alexander Valley wineries, as well as being a funky town in itself, with many fine shops and restaurants. Consistent excellent service is what you would get from Camellia Inn. Lucy and her staff were great in catering to our needs. From great rooms, delicious breakfast, to making dinner reservations at local restaurants is a tip of what Camellia Inn provides you. A great location allows easy access to fabulous wineries within minutes and just steps away from the main square in Healdsburg. Lucy’s knowledge of the area, rich history, and relationship with businesses make her a valuable resource in answering questions or finding things we needed. We will most definitely stay at Camellia Inn in the future.

The rooms, cleanliness, and dining all lived up to the pictures on the web site, so the reality met my expectations. It was Lucy and her recommendations that provided outstanding service and increased value. Lucy helped us with dining reservations. She listened to what we wanted to do and responded with recommendations for a winery tour, lunch spot, and the route for a scenic drive. These recommendations were spot on, and gave us an exceptional day in Healdsburg. Thanks Lucy.

Every part of our experience at the Camellia Inn was positive, from the reservation process, to the courtesy from Lucy and her staff, to the comfortable and clean room and amenities, and the prime location near the downtown square in beautiful Healdsburg, to the delicious breakfast. In addition there were extras like wine and goodies in the evening, an evening drink, chocolate in the rooms, and cookies all day. If you went in the summer time you could take a swim in the swimming pool, but we were enjoying the day before Thanksgiving and loved the fire places carved in marble, an elegant old world atmosphere. We also met some really nice people at breakfast. Most of the people we met at breakfast had been there before and were returnees, always a good sign! I feel very certain that we will be back to stay.

Camellia Inn was a gem right in the heart of Healdsburg. Just far enough outside the main Village area, but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Great people, nice amenities - especially the wine, cheese and cookies in the evening. Accommodates dietary restrictions in the menu as well. Highly recommended!

This inn is a good choice for a visit to Healdsburg. A few blocks off the main square, you can easily walk to anywhere in downtown. The rooms are well appointed and clean, the innkeepers were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was flavorful and fresh (which isn't easy for a buffet service, when we ate towards the end of the seating). I would stay here gain.

The room was very nicely furnished, the bed and bedding delightfully comfortable with a very nice bathroom. Only issue was modest water pressure in shower, but not too bad. The breakfast was buffet style and quite tasty and plentiful, with group seating that enabled us to talk with other guests. Definitely worth going back to.

The inn keepers at the Camellia Inn in Healdsburg are just great. The breakfasts are a fine way to start the day and the wine tastings by the pool are an excellent way to meet other guests and chill before dinner at one of the many great restaurants that are a block or two from your front door. A combination of old world charm and tech country convenience. We would stay there again!!!!!

This was our first stay in a B&B. The theme of the house is Victorian, which we understand means"old". But we don't think means old and tired. The carpet was very worn and dirty. The light fixture above our bed was pretty but full of dead bugs and dirt. Breakfast was good. But dirty dishes were left on the table too long after people left.
5 on October 30, 2013
We would stay here again. Every part of our stay was wonderful, From our warm greeting to our last breakfast, we really felt like we were welcome, felt like the owner cared about us and that we felt so comfortable there. Our next wine tour will require that we stay at the Camellia Inn!

I stayed here one night and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean. The house is completely charming and the owners were very helpful and nice. The community breakfast and wine tasting the night before were a lot of fun. I would definitely go back.

This was truly one of the best B&B experiences that I have had. Lucy was a wonderful hostess and the guests were a delight to visit with. The inn is situated close to the plaza which makes for an easy walk. I would definitely stay here again.

The service was perfect. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable or the area. She was always cheerful and happy to make reservations for her guests at any restaurants or wineries. A beautiful, full breakfast was provided for all guests every morning. I would definitely stay there, again, and recommend the Camelia Inn to my fried Nds.

Great Room and very nice stay. Charming.

Our party of four's Healdsburg weekend was made even more memorable because we had a two bedroom cottage 10 minutes from town. The cottage was really well equipped, very quiet, and enabled us to enjoy breakfast at the house, soak in the hot tub and enjoy Sunday football. We love all of the Camilla properties!
5 on October 13, 2013
We have been staying here for many years and are always pleased with the location, cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, charming rooms and excellent breakfast. Lucy, the inn keeper is always welcoming and helpful. There is a lot of attention to comfort and great tips to local wineries and restaurants. It is a wonderful place to stay.

This is an alternative we accepted because the Inn was full. It is a well equipped comfortable house a bit out of the main portion of town. It is a serious bike ride if that is your means of transportation. It worked well for us (my wife, son and his wife and I) but it does not give ready access to the quaint town of Healdsburg. Lucy was kind to let us check out late since we were on a bike ride into the afternoon we planned to depart. Overall it was a good experience.

There were 6 of us and this was the perfect place for all of us to stay together. Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't included, but the apartment is right beside a fabulous bakery that had wonderful breakfast and free refills on coffee. It felt so homey and was within walking distance to downtown and the restaurants. Lucy sent us a list of restaurants, and we went with Bravas Tapas which was amazing. She also offered to set up reservations and anything else we needed. Archie gave us a map and wine tasting coupons and pointed out a few wineries to us. They were so helpful. I would definitely stay with them again!
5 on September 13, 2013
My husband and I arrived at the Camellia Inn at 6 p.m. after a very long trip. We were tired and hungry. After Archie, the very friendly owner, showed us our room (beautiful!), he promptly directed us to the pool area, where several guests were enjoying complimentary wine, cheese and fruit. Pure heaven! The conversation was lively and the wine was just what the doctor ordered. Breakfast the next day was too delicious to be true - both filling and healthy.
3.4 on September 11, 2013
Good value for room price (150 a night) but minimal offerings at breakfast (cereal, granola, fruit in small amounts, and one very small hot dish) although the coffee was great. Clean, good room but a little awkward given the shower and toilet was in one corner closet and sink was in main room. Not the most romantic of layouts.

We enjoyed our stay at the Camellia Inn. It is walking distance to Healdsburg Square and many of the local attractions, which was the main goal for us. Service from Lucy and the staff was fantastic -- she knows the area well and is full of great advice.

5 on August 06, 2013
We often stop in Healdsburg when we visit the wine country (we live in LA), and love it. This trip we decided to stay in town and a friend recommended Camillia Inn. We will never stay anywhere else. Lucy (owner) was so helpful and friendly. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable...you can walk to any restaurant. The breakfast served was amazing! There is also wine and cheese in the early evening. Lots of little touches (chocolate kisses and water bottles in the rooms, homemade cookies in the afternoon) show how much the owners care about their guests. Fellow guests were friendly and interesting, and willing to share tips over breakfast and wine. As I said, PERFECT!

Camellia Inn is a wonderful little B&B close to everything in Healdsburg. The room was great and the pool an added bonus on a hot July day. Lucy was very helpful in making dinner recommendations and following through with a reservation for us. I would stay again next time I visit the area.
4.2 on July 18, 2013
Camilla Inn is a charming B&B in Healdsburg, which is the nicest town in Sonoma County. You can park your car at the Inn and walk to a fabulous dinner, wine tasting, town concert or many shops and antique stores. Lucy the owner is wonderful at making you feel at home and has many ideas for your visit. Breakfast is wonderful and the daily wine and cheese at 5:30 by the pool becomes a much enjoyed social event. We loved it!

2.8 on July 01, 2013
Prior stay in the Inn was wonderful. The offsite apartment didn't receive any servicing during our three nite stay. Still it is a large apartment with kitchen that allowed our family to room together. Value wise it is very good but could do with a facelift and cleaner carpets.
5 on June 27, 2013
This Inn is a beautiful old Victorian home located within walking distance of Healdsburg Plaza and most of the excellent restaurants in the town. The Inn provides off-street parking and has a god size pool for warm days. The breakfasts provided by owner Lucy are very good, and the wines served with cheese in the afternoon are consistent with the reputation of the three wine producing alleys that meet in Healdsburg. This Inn provides good value for the money.
5 on June 26, 2013
This was our second stay at the Camellia Inn. We love the location, just a couple of blocks from Healdsburg's beautiful main plaza with loads of lovely shops and restaurants. The Inn is beautiful, the rooms are charrming, and Lucy is always ready with the perfect suggestions for exploring northern Sonoma. Everything about our stay was perfect.

This is our 2nd time to stay at the Camelia Inn. Lucy and Archie treat their guests excellent - they are friendly, great at suggesting restaurants & vineyards, offer free wine and cheese tastings each evening poolside, yet allow the guests complete privacy. The inn is in the perfect location. Their Victorian home is beautiful, and furnished with antiques that are truly comfortable. We highly recommend this incredible property - for the ammeneties, location and value it cannot be beat!

We just returnedd from an amazing 4 day stay in Wine country. Our trip was stellar due in a large part to The Camellia Inn! Lucy and Archie, the proprietors, are personable and knowledgeable. The food was tasty and our stay in the royalty room was deluxe. We were happy about not Spending all our money on our stay. It made buying the wine easier to swallow!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at the Camellia Inn. We were visiting for our honeymoon and wanted a comfortable bed and breakfast in a picturesque walk-able town that wasn't as commercially touristy as Napa Valley (so we've heard). We stayed for four nights, and Lucy, our innkeeper, was genuinely warm and welcoming. She clearly takes pride in caring for her guests and her gorgeous historic property, and gave us great recommendations on wine tours and where to dine. The breakfasts were AMAZING and there was always plenty of it. She even created a different smoothie every morning! One of the other guests was vegan and Lucy made sure she had something else homemade specifically to fit her food preferences. Between the breakfasts and the wine and cheese hour we learned that several of the guests have been coming to the Camellia Inn for years. The property was clean and beautiful, the service was excellent, and the rates were beyond reasonable. We can't wait to go back for our one year anniversary!! Matt and Katherine H. May 21-25, 2013

You probably don't want to stay in the room across the street from the main building, otherwise a wonderful experience. Archie is the perfect host and location is excellent
5 on May 30, 2013
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay in the budget room at Camellia Inn! For the location and all the Inn has to offer, the price really cannot be beat. The room was small with a double bed and private bath across the hall, but it was just enough for the two of us. We were hardly there anyway as we were out exploring wineries and the town most of the time, so it worked out perfectly. We were able to spend two nights in Healdsburg instead of just one because of the great price for the budget room. The Inn is beautiful, clean, peaceful, and just a couple blocks from town. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and there was always fruit or chocolates around to grab for a snack, as well as the afternoon wine and cheese reception. I called about a week ahead to notify the Inn about my gluten intolerance and they were easily able to accommodate my dietary needs. I also received a postcard from the Inn about two weeks before our stay, which was a really thoughtful touch. We were the youngest guests, being in our mid-20s, but everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and professional during our stay. We didn't have the opportunity to meet the owner, Lucy, as I think she might have been out of town, but Archie was always around and had impeccable recommendations for the best area wineries, restaurants, and bars. He never steered us wrong! We really enjoyed meeting him. Thanks to Archie, Lucy, and the rest of the staff for their hospitality and for making sure we had a wonderful experience!

This inn has everything you could want - beautiful rooms, antique furniture, toiletries, stuff you forgot (like tooth brushes), bathrobes, pool, wine and cheese in the afternoon, 24-hour coffee and cookies, a great breakfast, helpful hosts, and probably other things I've forgotten. I've never stayed anyplace that gave the guests so many extras. And it's only 2 blocks from the plaza.

The Camellia Inn is a lovely Victorian mansion set in downtown Healdsburg. It's a short walk to day spas and bakeries. There are many fine dining establishments. We stayed in the Tower East king deluxe room, which is spacious and comfortable. There's a sitting area in the room, with a jacuzzi in the shower room. Highly recommend the Outrageous French Toast served at Saturday morning breakfast. Also a plus is that cranberry juice is offered. Just a relaxing visit. Prepare to shift down.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Camellia Inn. Breakfasts were wonderful - plentiful options, and tasty choices with quality bread from the local bakery. The lovely sitting room was pleasant with warm sunbeams. We enjoyed reading both the local paper and the New York Times both mornings. We stayed in the budget room and although it was smaller than the other rooms and had a double bed rather than a king or queen, it was just the right size for us! The location was ideal and we barely drove all weekend. It was so nice to be able to walk into town rather than drive. Lucy was away while we were there, but Archie was good company and we appreciated visiting with him and the rest of the staff and guests. Highly recommended and we hope to stay there again someday!

This was our second stay in 6 years to Lucy and Archie’s exquisitely decorated Victorian home surrounded by lovely blooming camellias. Loved: the complimentary iPad and internet access provided in the room; full hot breakfasts during the 2 mornings (locally grown fresh fruits, yogurt, granola, cereals, fresh baked bread, hot croissants, Mexican breakfast casserole, fruit smoothies, juices); wine & cheese hour to meet other houseguests and talk about places of interest. Lucy gave great advice on eating at the local Healdsburg restaurants, all within a 2-block walk from the inn. Used the Sonoma wine pass and Lucy’s excellent advice to visit wineries in the Dry Creek area. With so many wineries & so little time, we made stops at those highly recommended by her and other local winegrowers. Only downside was the heater blower in the room’s old fashioned under the floorboards heater kicked on every 20 minutes to keep the room at a comfortable 72 degrees on the chilly nights.

We love this 2 bedroom apartment for our family of 4, 2 adults two 20something girls. This is our second stay. It is a great location, quiet for sleeping, walk to shops, restaurants, strolling. Huge kitchen and living room. My only complaint is the bedding. Wish it was a little fresher smelling. Beds a little uncomfortable, but fine our 2 night stay.

Can't beat the location with regards to being able to walk about town. We had the smallest room with the separate bath - not a problem. Terrific bed and bath linens. Very quiet at night even though facing street and close to main square. Excellent service by owners and staff - always available but never "in your face". Very good breakfast included traditional breakfast buffet items plus freshly made smoothies, hot entree, freshly baked coffee cakes or rolls, very good breads. Always fresh whole fruit as well as fruit cup. Owner very helpful with maps, suggestions, passes to wineries, offers to make dinner reservations. Easy off-street parking. High consideration for bicyclists. The best - the nightly gathering with other guests for wine and snacks by the pool (weather permitting, inside if weather not so nice). A super opportunity to meet and share with others - our group was a true mixed bag coming from Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado, Sweden, Maine.

We were very pleased with the spaciousness of the downtown apartment. A second bath would have been nice, but the full kitchen was a real bonus. For our Honeymoon we made our first trip to the wine country of California and found the gem that is the Camellia Inn. Lucy, Archie, and the others at the Camellia Inn were fantastic hosts. We stayed three nights and enjoyed every minute of it. They were always prepared with suggestions of activities to do, wineries to see, and restaurants in which to dine, and their recommendations hit true to the mark every time. We had a fantastic experience and have already been recommending a stay here to our friends and family.

This is a great B&B. Owner's were very pleasant and the prepared food was excellent. We had the small room with a bathroom across the hall. The value was great. The only negative was the quality of the mattress.
First thanks for staying with us and second thanks so much for taking the time to provide valuable feedback for us. We pride ourselves on good mattresses and linens - so it sounds like we're ready for a new one in the Demitasse room. The small room is great value but only if you can sleep well! Thanks again and come see us again, we loved having you with us.

Beautiful room! Well-appointed and luxurious . . . even the shower! I felt welcome from the very beginning. Archie and Lucy are gracious hosts. Breakfast was a feast each morning, and the table was set beautifully. Lucy is on hand at breakfast, remember what we did the day before, and asking about our plans for the coming day. I needed a jeweler during my stay to repair a necklace, and she had the perfect recommendation. She knows the area well, and she is well-known and deeply respected by those around. I feel like I've made a new friend. I could not have been more pleased with my stay, and have already recommended it to several of my friends. The Camellia Inn sets the bar high!

We absolutely loved staying here! Lucy was so helpful and the inn was beautiful! We stayed in the Budget room with the detatched private bath and it was so clean and comfortable. The inn was quiet even with road construction right outside our window. There was a 5pm complementary wine and snack hour by the pool everyday and we got to meet several guests and chit chat about each others adventures. The breakfasts were delightful and one dish was made from veggies right from Lucy's dad's garden! I really can't say enough great things about the inn and Lucy. We would definately stay here again.

From the moment we arrived, we were provided with great service. After our warm welcome and personal tour, we were able to quickly drive to may area wineries. We had the pleasure of staying at the Camellia Inn when we were in Healdsburg for a wedding weekend. The innkeeper, Lucy, was warm and welcoming. Our room (Tiffany) was really comfortable and a great place to come home to at the end of a fun day. Comfy robes were provided and we loved the bathroom amenities. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to eat breakfast at the Inn, but I gave it a top rating because I was forced to select a rating. Pool was nice and relaxing. All in all a great experience. We will definitely stay here again if another Healdsburg weekend is in the works.
4.2 on July 18, 2012
Delightful B&B within walking distance of downtown Healdsburg. Lovely hostess/owner. Extremely comfy bed and exceptional linens, etc. The wine by the pool was a nice touch. Breakfast is at a large oval table. I am not one for chit chat in the morning so this was my only issue with this B&B. So it was great coffee in a quiet corner for me. Otherwise, a fantastic place that I would highly recommend.
Thanks so much for your feedback. Guests are always welcome to take a tray back to their rooms with breakfast - I just have to remember to tell everyone that! We want to have options to fit our guest's needs. Hope to have you with us again.

This charming place is walking distance to restaurants and cafes in Healdsburg. After a day of sight-seeing wine tasting it's a great place to retreat for a dip in the pool before walking to dinner in town. We stayed in The Roost, a room in a house across the street from the inn. It was great, especially for folks who'd like to keep a little distance from the conviviality of a B&B.

The Inn is located within walking distance to the town centre. The hosts were gracious and assisted us in making reservations, guiding us where to go and providing tourist information. The nightly wine and cheese was a great way to taste a few more regional wines and to meet some of the other guests.

An excellent B&B in Healdsburg. Convenient walk to downtown. This B&B has been in the family for over 30 years. Rooms were perfect and food delicious. I'd highly recommend to others.
Thanks so much for your lovely comments. We are so happy to be celebrating our 30 year anniversary this year. Guests like you make it such a delight to be in this business. Enjoy your summer!

I had booked the budget room, as I was traveling alone. Upon my arrival I was upgraded to the Luxury Suite. It was charming. The lovely wine tasting and cheese was nice each afternoon/ evening and the people were helpful. I will definitely return.

Our stay at the Camellia Inn was fabulous. Lucy made us feel right at home from the minute we arrived. Breakfast every morning was terrific with fresh fruit, fresh bread and smoothie shots. We left for our day of biking with homemade energy bars and returned to fresh cookies. After we washed up, there was wine and cheese. For dinner, we followed Archie's recommendations each night and we were never disappointed. Then, time for bed in an amazingly comfortable bed with super soft sheets.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Climbing Rose Studio which is part of the Camellia Inn. The room was large and airy with a wonderful "soaker" tub.At the back of the studio was a charming garden which was very private. The studio is situated near the best restaurants in Geyserville. We loved walking up the road a bit to the "Locals" Tasting centre where we had tasted great local red and white wine from the area

After exploring Napa several times, we ventured over to the Sonoma side. The inn provided the most convenient place for visiting any number of wineries including several in town. Our host were outgoing and helpful, offering advice and a willingness to make reservations. The rooms were lovely. The evening wine and cheese gave us a chance to meet some of the other guests. Breakfast was top notch. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks!

Camellia Inn is one block of the main square in Healdsburg. A great location. Within walking distance of restaurants, shops and tasting rooms. The Inn is quaint, the rooms are well maintained and decorated appropriately. The breakfast each morning home made, and the owners are available to give advice on which wineries to visit, etc. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, and definitely would stay there again.

We were fortunate enough to get the downtown apartment that is part of the Camellia Inn. It was above the most delicious French Bakery, where we could just go downstairs, pick up some breakfast goodies and enjoy them in the comfort of our apartment with morning coffee. We could walk all over central Healdsburg and shop in all the stores that were right there. We had dinner down the street at Willi's Seafood and Raw Bar... it was so good, we ate there 2 nights in a row. I would recommend this Inn highly. Lucy is very sweet and accomodating. Great if you have a group of girls for a weekend stay... could sleep 8 easily.

We stayed in the Demitasse rom which had a detached private bathroom across the hall. The tub, which dates from the 20s, iwas extra long and I enjoed taking a long, soaking bath. The room was fine and comfortable. After a long hard day of wine tasting, it was nice to come back to the Inn and have some cheese and more (!) wine set out. There were wines from wineries we hadn't visited. In the morning, the large dining table was the place for a communal breakfast (yummy) where we had a chance to trade tips with our new friends. I would recommend this place highly and already made areservation to return next year. Tamar and Scott--Chicago, Illinois

We are wine country novices and so could not believe our good fortune to end up in the charming town of Healdsburg at this wonderful B and B. It is no small feat for Lucy to maintain this beautiful Victorian home in such a pristine state. Our room was so comfortable, with its fireplace and four posted bed, and we spent more time in the room than we usually do, just to take advantage. Breakfast was not your ordinary fare, and was delicious and plentiful. We met the most lovely couples, from newlyweds in their 20's to European and S. American visitors. The wine and cheese get-togethers in the afternoon provide a wonderful opportunity to share winery recommendations and make new friends. We will definitely return.

We have stayed here before and enjoyed it.This time around was a little less interesting. The breakfast was a little underwhelming. We opted to skip breakfast Sunday morning and went somewhere in town. The staff is friendly but did not get the service or attention we got last time we were here. It is a charming old Victorian house that needs a bit of work. I would stay here again.
Thanks so much for your helpful feedback. Looks like I need to do a lot more staff training! I was on vacation during your visit this time and I apologize that your experience was not better than your last visit. I have reviewed everything with my relief innkeeper and be assured that the quality of our breakfast and guest service is our highest priority. With an old house we're constantly trying to keep up with maintenance so any specifics would be helpful as well. Please let me know when you visit again and thanks for saying that you would do so. Every guest is important but our returning guests are very special to us. Again thanks for your comments! We really appreciate knowing how we can improve.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Healdsburg is a very pricey destination. Our rates are the least expensive for rooms within walking distance of the town plaza. With breakfast, afternoon snacks, wine and cheese reception - we try to remain moderate for the area. We really appreciate the feedback.

We had a fantastic time at the Camillia Inn and have wonderful memories of our two days spend there with the beautiful breakfasts that we took poolside and the scent of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies wafting through the house before tea time. The amenities were more than ample, the room and bathroom very clean and the owners were so kind and accommodating. We will recommend this sweet little B&B to anyone who passes through Healdsburg, as it is also located so centrally, just a 3 minute walk into town and in a beautiful neighborhood that is perfect for scenic morning jogs.
4.6 on September 11, 2011
Lucy, the innkeeper, besides doing all the things you want and expect from a top B&B, deftly does more. Somehow, she fosters great interactions among guests that wouldn't happen without her. Also, she is THE expert on the area and is an incredible resource for all things Healdsburg. We were there mostly for wine tasting and she gave us passes for free tastings. It's pretty much impossible to not love Healdsburg, but a stay art Camellia makes it even better.

My husband and I were guests at the Camellia Inn about 20 years ago. Our return visit brought back fond memories. We love the setting, the staff, the breakfasts and the location. Close to shops and restaurants but quiet and serene. We will definitely stay here again and I hope it won't be 20 years before we return.
2.6 on August 23, 2011
I have to preface my comments but saying that this was the very first B&B my husband and I ever stayed in. With that said, the Camellia Inn was nice but just wasn't our taste. The room we booked was exactly as pictured and clean but had a window A/C unit (which is unsettling for us Texans) and was down the hall from the (private) bath. While we knew the bathroom was not en suite when we booked, it is a bit further than we expected (note: our room did have two robes for our use). Additionally, there is only one TV and we found that the furniture in the living areas was uncomfortable for lounging. Checking in was a bit confusing (there's no "front desk") and the other residents were much older than us (we are in our 30s). However, breakfast was good and is served from 8-10am and the property is close enough to Healdsburg to walk with no problems. Overall, the Camellia Inn is a nice place to stay (if you love B&Bs you will most likely love this one, too) however, we have discovered that we prefer a more traditional hotel while vacationing.
Thanks so much for your honest feedback. As you said, Bed & Breakfasts aren't for everyone. It's interesting about our demographic mix of clients. We usually have guests of all ages but every once in awhile we'll have a majority of older guests or a majority of younger! Your comments about confusion and comfort I'm taking to heart and to my husband. I'm going to see what we can do to improve on both levels. Sounds like we probably won't be seeing you again but please come back to the area as there is so much here to enjoy. Your thoughtful critique is much appreciated.

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment in downtown Healdsburg, and it was delightful! This accomodation does not include breakfast. But, it does include a full, well-equiped kitchen. We went to the Safeway (within walking distance) and bought food, then cooked breakfast in for ourselves each day, and packed a cooler of lunch food for picnics at nearby wineries. Great spot for families with older children (ours are in their mid-20s so could legally drink wine.) There is sleeping for 8-9 people (although comfortable for only 5-6, since there are only two bedrooms and one bathroom. The common living area is great for card-playing and movie-watching, as well as eating together. Fun to go out to dinner and shopping and wine tastings within walking distance. Nice French cafe immediately below.

Okay, so I'm the only girl in the country who wasn't thrilled with California wine tours -- but this trip changed my mind completely. It was my third (and very best!) trip to wine country. We loved Healdsburg and The Camellia Inn made the experience even better. The Inn itself is located 2 blocks from the charming town square which is filled with notable restaurants, shops and wineries. What sets it apart from the competition is the professional and dedicated work of the owners. We enjoyed our "history" lesson with Ray and Lucy's AMAZING cullinary treasures -- she brings new meaning to the word "breakfast!" Complete with a beautiful pool where wine is served at 5:30 sharp -- we couldn't have asked for anything more. Both Hubby & I agree "We'll be back!"

Healdsburg is our go-to destination when we want a respite near home and we've tried several B&Bs over the past 20 years. We've stayed at Camellia Inn twice, and absolutely love it. We look forward to our next stay!

This was the perfect spot for our Russian River wine experience. Lucy is very modest about her inn and her cooking abilities; they both are actually outstanding. We loved the relaxed atmosphere for her breakfast buffets; folks had a great time sharing their experiences from the day before and Lucy helped all of us a great deal in planning our day and offering tips and vouchers for winery tastings. She really knows the area. Enjoyable wine and cheeses around the pool in the late afternoon/evening, too. Right in town, it was a joy to walk to dinner and take in the small-town atmosphere of Healdsburg. (We just wish we had been there on a Tues. night to take in the music in the park.) We booked the smaller room with the bathroom down the hall (for our use only, not shared). The room was absolutely perfect for two; a great way to save a some money. And the window air conditioner was a godsend on our stay; it was 95 degrees both days. We recommend Camellia Inn without hesitation. (and Lucy, thanks for all the Jelly Belly candies; I certainly had my share...)

I just stayed 6 nights at Camellia Inn. It is in a residential setting, only 1.5 blocks from restaurants, shops and the main downtown part of Healdsburg. The rooms and photos on the web site are very accurate. There is nice pool in the rear of the house with several tables and chairs. The best assets that Camilla Inn have is Lucy and Archie. They have been doing this a long time, and know the perfect balance of being there when you need them and letting you feel like it is your home away from home. Their advice on restaurants and everything else was accurate, and exactly what I was looking for. It was so wonderful to come back from a long day and have their wonderful wine and cheese set out for us. It was nice to sit out by the pool, have some wine and talk with the other guests. Camellia Inn is a great value. Naturally I will stay there on my next visit.

The inn is within walking distance of the town square, but the immediate neighborhood is very quiet--which was great for a good night's rest. The house itself is delightful, especially if you're interested in historic architecture. And the breakfast did exceed expectations! It offers a little bit of everything and was very good. I would definitely go back for another stay.

We stayed at one of the Inn's two-bedroom apartments right off the main square in Healdsburg (only a few blocks from the Inn). The location was fantastic--the apartment is accessed by an unassuming door right next to a French bakery, which meant it was only steps from all there is to do downtown. Once inside, it was completely private and felt like a true home-away-from-home, with all of the conveniences you could need (full kitchen, well-sized and appointed bedrooms, great living room area with board games, DVDs, etc.). We found the rates to be a great value and probably one of the best deals for downtown Healdsburg. We intend to go back again in the next few months!

Outstanding host/owner Lucy makes everyone feel welcome. The rooms are first rate and the location means you can walk to everything you need to get to. And the biking in the area is the some of the best we have ever done. We rented bikes from Wine Country Bikes and they set us up with self guided tours that were the best.
Thanks for your comments. It is definitely biking time here in Wine Country. We have such great routes based from Healdsburg. We attempt to give the best service and amenities we can provide at a price that is reasonable for Healdsburg. Hope you'll come back again soon.

My room was quite spacious. My sister, who paid more for her room, had a very small crowded room.
First of all, we loved having you and your family with us. Our rates are based on the amenities in the rooms, ie. whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, etc. Your sister was booked into our whirlpool tub queen room which was originally the home's kitchen in 1869! We actually upgraded you to a larger queen that we most recently had put a whirlpool tub in. We always try to upgrade a group's organizer if we can (hint to those of you that love to work on a trip's details). Healdsburg is an expensive destination (like most of the wine country) and we try to keep our rates moderate for the area. Thanks for the feedback - it always helps us to be on our toes!

We had a wonderful stay at the Camellia Inn. We stayed in the "budget room", because as you can probably imagine, we were on a budget. It exceeded our needs in so many ways. The room was bright & sunny. On the small side & the bathroom is large but down a short hallway. To our surprise it honestly did not impact our stay in a negative away at all. The Inn itself is beautiful and very large-lots of sitting areas to spread out in if needed. There's a TV room & free wireless. Walking distance to beautiful downtown Healdsburg where there are countless delicious restaurant options. Lucy was wonderful-so helpful with planning our days filled with wine tastings, biking & dining. We loved the delicious breakfasts she created each morning, as well as the wine and cheese hour after a fun day out in the vineyards and the town. It was very clean (and I'm a clean nut). The bed sheets were so soft and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this Inn to someone else and hope to return in the near future!
We loved having you with us! For years we talked about turning the Demitasse room (budget room) into a spacious bath for the queen room next door. Healdsburg has just gotten so expensive that we decided to keep the room at a very reasonable price ($139, even the motels are more). This allows guests who are on a tight budget or those visitors that prefer to spend their $$ on wine or dinner to still have a room walking distance to the plaza. Yes the room is small but most people are out touring all day and enjoy the value the budget room provides. Hope to have you and your husband back again soon.

We would stay here again but would look to see if there is better first. Lucy was really nice and helpful. BTW we ate at Madrona Manor...WHAT A DINING EXPERIENCE! SIMPLY DELIGHTFUL. Spoonbar was just ok but SCOPA (I think that was the name...on the square) was REALLY great! Share the dishes and have fun!

3.2 on April 17, 2011
I stayed at one of the downtown apartments, not in the Inn. The apartment was spacious and in a great location...just steps from everything on the square. It wasn't decorated as quaintly as the inn, but it was nice to have a kitchen to make coffee, store leftovers, etc. My one complaint is the beds were not very comfortable. Luckily I was getting a massage the next day, so that helped, but could not have slept there more than 2 nights. (My friends had the same complaint.)
Thanks so much for your comments. We regularly monitor and purchase new mattresses and have not had any complaints. I will look into which apartment you were staying in and of course order replacements if needed. We want our guests to enjoy Healdsburg and a good night's sleep helps that endeavor!

My girlfriend and I recently spent two nights in Healdsburg at the Camellia Inn. The place was perfect because of its easy walk to the restaurants and bars downtown and it's proximity to the Russian River and Dry Creek vineyards. But the best part of the stay was Lucy, the innkeeper, who was super friendly, very knowledgeable about the surrounding vineyards and dining, and even helped us ship wine back to our home state. I would certainly recommend this inn.

My boyfriend and I went during December and despite chilly, somewhat rainy weather, we had a wonderful time largely due to Lucy's awesome establishment and her friendly staff. Camellia Inn is quaint and friendly and within walking distance of "town" which is perfect when you're really taking advantage of all the delicious wines. Highly recommend!

This B&B was an outstanding find !! Perfect location in town walking distance to restaurants, shops, wine tasting and etc. The house itself is fabulous, design, decor, furnishings and ambiance. Lucy is an excellent host, pleast to be around and have a conversion with and her baked treats that she makes daily are to die for as well as daily special unique breakfasts. We look forward to our next stay there. J Guevara

We had stayed at the Camellia Inn many years ago and it was a joy to return! We loved the room, service and wonderful breakfast.

My husband and I just spent a wonderful weekend at The Camellia Inn. The home itself is an intact home from the Victorian era that is completely decorated with antiques and art from that period. They served tea and cookies, wine and cheese in the large inviting drawing room. The breakfast was delicious. Especially appreciated was the room upgrade that they offered us with no extra charge, which they said they always do when available, and the warm conversation and guidance about the area and restaurants. The hosts have a long history with the inn which shows. We lived in England for many years and this was just like being in the English (or Scottish!) countryside. We can't wait to go back!

This is the second stay we had and it was better than the first. We will definitely make this an annual vacation.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Wine Country. We had spent our honeymoon in Healdsburgh at an outstanding B&B but this time we wanted to be within walking distance of the square. Camellia Inn has a fabulous location and we were able to walk to all restaurants, shops, etc. The inn is much more "rustic" than I had expected because I missed the fact that in-room TVs were NOT listed on the room features. We were just really surprised since we didn't see this noted anywhere on the website. Our room had a "fireplace" but it was really just a fake gas type heater looking thing, so that was disappointing. The jet tub was huge but we never used it. All in all, I would consider this an average place with above average location and breakfast. It is communal dining with no options to sit by yourselves, so if you aren't into that, I would find another place. There were many people at the Inn who obviously come back year after year. Maybe I was just spoiled with some of the other options in Healdsburgh.
Thanks so much for your comments! The downside to being in this business for 30 years is that sometimes we're a little slow on the latest trends - TV's in the rooms. We've considered this issue over and over in the last couple years. For now we've decided to upgrade our common television room and keep the guest rooms "unplugged" except for CD/MP3 players & WiFi. We have recently refreshed our web page and added some content indicating our TV free guest rooms. Our "gas fireplaces" are used for heat and do have flames but I can totally understand a desire for a wood burning effect. We are not allowed to burn wood within the city of Healdsburg but have nice wood fireplaces at our out of town cottages. For those folks who would prefer dining not at the communal table we are happy to provide trays for self-service that you can take to enjoy in your own room. I am so sorry you were disappointed with our inn. We try to keep our rates moderate for Healdsburg and luckily there are many nice places to stay in our town. We want our guests to be happy and comfortable so we apologize that we weren't able to meet your needs. Thanks for trying us and for your constructive feedback. We can always be better!

The innkeeper, Lucy, is a well informed resource for touring Sonoma and her dad, Ray, adds the local color. We look forward to returning on our next trip to northern California.

Came in a couple of days early for the Russian River wine event. Always like Healdsburg. Decided to try the Camellia Inn and was very pleased with the accommodations. The room was comfortable and breakfast was great. Also very convenient to town.

Camellia Inn, while quite pricey does have a great location. It's an old house on beautiful grounds with a pool. The king rooms were well located for us--two couples traveling together as they were located upstairs separately from the rest of the rooms. Breakfast was good and the owner gave good directions to the wineries and restaurants. If you love bed and breakfasts, this is an ideal getaway spot when in Healdsburg, but it is quite pricey.

Our stay at the Camellia Inn was the perfect weekend getaway. The room was attractive, spotless and well stocked. Lots of thoughtful touches like freshly baked cookies and cofee/tea available any time. Breakfast was much more than toast and coffee and the company of the other guests truly enjoyable. It was our first visit but it won't be our last.

The property and the innkeeper could not hve been nicer. Also served a nice breakfast and the property was a short walk to the town square.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Inn and used it as our home base for exploring the wineries in the Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Alexander Valley. Lucy was a fantastic hostess and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the wine and cheese parties around the pool each evening and the fantastic breakfasts! Our room was very comforatable and clean. We are already planning our return trip to the area and will definitely visit Lucy and her team again!

We rented the cottage near the Russian River...about 5 mins from downtown. We loved it! The beds were comfy and I was in the hot tub every night! The robes were a nice touch and everything was very clean. (less clorine in the hot tub would be advisable).

Owners Lucy & Archie couldn't do more for us. Their Inn is simply charming. Food and service outstanding. Since we were from out of state they both had great tips for us to explore the area. They offer some fantastic connections and recommendations for tours and nearby retaurants &wineries. They also made several reservations for dinner and tours. If we ever go back west to the Sonoma/Napa area again ,our stay at the Camelia is a definite. Arlene & Bob New Jersey

we spent two nights at the Camellia Inn and enjoyed it immensely. We had the "budget room," which was very small, but comfortable and sufficient. The Inn itself is gorgeous, and the breakfasts, wine & cheese, and other snacks were wonderful. Overall an excellent experience and we'd highly recommend the Inn to others.

Every summer my sister and I escape to the Camellia Inn and this is our 3rd year. Lucy and staff are wonderful, the breakfasts are the best, located a block from the square, the best pool in town and we always meet the nicest people staying there as well. Highly recommend it!

My recent visit was short but sweet. The inn continues to meet high expectations with great ambiance, service, and more than adequately sized beds and rooms. Don't miss this place if you go to Healdsburg.

After a business trip my husband and I met in San Francisco and headed north to Russian River wine country. Camellia Inn in Healdsburg is ideally located for venturing out to the Alexander and Russian River valleys or for staying put and enjoying the Healdsburg offerings. Our accommodations were great and Lucy and staff made sure that we had everything we needed. they had good suggestions for local offerings and even assisted with our Friday night dinner reservations at a local restaurant that was within walking distance of the Inn. The fact that they reached out a few days before we arrived to see if we needed reservations was especially thoughtful and it ensured our ability to get into the restaurant of our choice. Breakfast was delicious with something for every taste; the fresh baked bread and croissants were outstanding. We will definitely stay at Camellia when we travel this way again.

We spent a wonderful two nights. The Inn is on a quiet street but just two short blocks to the Healdsburg Plaza, the hub or shopping, restaurants, etc. A surprising plus was how much we enjoyed talking to other guests from around the U.S. and abroad at breakfast and for wine before dinner.

Love this place. Rooms are comfy, quiet and nicely appointed. We celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary here and enjoyed every minute. Breakfasts were tasty. We spent the days exploring Healdsburg and the surrounding area - wine tasting of course.

Our stay at the Camellia Inn was all we hoped for and more as we were needing a respite from our busy lives. Everyone, the staff and the other guests were so nice and friendly, the food was outstanding,(esp. the cookies every afternoon!), the bed comfortable, the location perfect for our dalily bike riding, and the atmophere, charming.

We stayed at the Camellia Inn for three nights just before Thanksgiving 2008. The room was very well appointed with a comfortable queen size four poster bed, tiled shower and ample storage for our clothes. The room also had a gas fireplace which we used to heat up the room since it was about 50 degrees at night! It worked very well and added ambience. The rest of the house was elegantly decorated but not overdone as many Victorian B&Bs can tend to be. The living/front rooms were open for guests and were used in the evening wine and cheese tastings. There was a TV room downstairs but no TVs in the rooms (which we prefer). We were able to park our rented tandem bike in the garage and there was plenty of off-street parking for guests' cars. The pool looked lovely although it was closed for the season in November. The service was outstanding. Lucy asked every guest what their plans were for the evening and the next day and promptly suggested and arranged dining reservations, tasting reservations, etc. She even knew which restaurants had the best hamburgers in town and who was open on a Monday night for dinner. We had many questions and concerns about driving directions, hours of operation, and practical matters and Lucy always had an answer or a solution. The service, in a word, was outstanding. The morning breakfast buffet was very well balanced. There was fresh bread for toast, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, cereals, coffee, and tea. Every day there was a new smoothie and a freshly made and delicious breakfast entree. We enjoyed almond croissants with huevos rancheros one morning. There was something to satisfy every taste and appetite and lighter healthier options as well.

Quiet residential street, yet a short walk to the great restaurants and shops of downtown Healdsburg. Lucy and her staff are helpful and welcoming, the common areas inviting, and the guest rooms comfortable and reasonably priced for this expensive area. Enjoyed the flexibility of the buffet-style breakfast. Having a convenient desk and free wi-fi was fantastic.

Of all the B&B's we have stayed at this one definitely ranks the highest on service and attention to detail. Lucy is the best innkeeper we have ever had. And, top that off with a beautiful B&B and a great location and you have a real winner!

We love the Camellia Inn. The Innkeeper, Lucy Lewand, is extremely helpful in booking reservations at wineries and restaurants. She gets us discounted wine tasting at local wineries. The family produes award-winning wines which are complimentary every evening with cheese and crackers. The breakfasts are excellent. The rooms are charming and comfortable.
