Newly remodeled, and newly renamed (formerly The Shelford House), this intimate bed and breakfast enjoys a spectacular vineyard setting. Classic Queen Anne architecture and French styled decor are the defining characteristics of our accommodations. Some of our 7 distinctively decorated guest rooms feature jetted tubs for two, private decks, fireplaces, and all the modern amenities that refined travelers look for in luxury travel. Located in the charming and unpretentious town of Cloverdale, which has just been voted the "#2 Coolest Small Town in America" by Fodor's Budget Travel, we are only 90 miles north of San Francisco. Boasting a climate so consistent that you could almost set your clock by it, our visitors are nearly as happy with our weather as our sundrenched grapevines are!

This was my first experience at a bed-n-breakfast in Sonoma county. Really cozy, homely atmosphere with great service..splendid 3-course breakfast served right from the kitchen..the cooks served us fresh fruits/juices, oven baked rum cakes and perfectly warm mediterranean Frittata and crispy crepes (with the best cheese sauce ever!). The French press coffee was fresh and earthy. The view of the vineyard from the room was the highlight of our stay there. Would highly recommend this place to anyone planning to spend a laid back romantic weekend getaway in the wine county.

We stayed for our anniversary and everything was outstanding! We booked the Echezeaux room and fell in love with the beautiful view from the private balcony. The property is absolutely charming. The carriage house was very cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! Roxanne helped us customize and map out our wine tasting spots in Geyserville and Healdsberg, which worked out great. She really went above and beyond to make our trip special. We had a wonderful time at Auberge and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Sonoma.

We just completed a trip to the Pacific Northwest starting the the Wine Country of Sonoma County. We stayed at 7 different B&B's from Northern California up to Seattle, and the Auberge On the Vineyard was our favorite. A wonderful experience all around. Thanks Roxanne; all the best to you!

This was our third time at Auberge on the Vineyard. This time, we stayed in the Carriage House (with the jacuzzi tub in the room). We LOVED the kitchen in the room, which allowed us to cook simple meals and eat on the deck overlooking the beautiful vineyard. The innkeeper, Roxanne, even let us borrow her BBQ one night. We had gotten engaged at Auberge last Oct, and spent three days in June on a mini-honeymoon, and have gotten to know Roxanne. The breakfasts at Auberge are not to be missed! Roxanne is a wonderful chef. The rooms we've had (so far different for all three of our stays) are wonderful. The staff there are nice and very accommodating. And we always meet interesting people during breakfast. We'll continue to keep coming to Auberge every time we stay in the Sonoma Valley. It's our special place! Heidi & Ross

From the vineyard views, to quaint atmosphere, our room with the amazing tub with a vineyard view, the beyond delicious breakfast, very friendly staff, benefits of the tasting pass for area wineries, and the location is what we came to find as the best B&B we have stayed at. It's safe to say we will be returning as the go to place for us in the wine country.

We wanted a week-day get away place and we will definitely come back. It is 2-1/2 hour drive and so worth it. The Victorian house is very homey and comfortable. We stayed in the main house. The breakfast was fabulous. We felt so at home sitting on the porch reading and overlooking the vineyard. Cookies were available in the dining room for a nice treat. Bellehop the cat, added to the ambience of the home away from home feeling! Definitely worth it.

The Auberge is a nice play to stay. We stayed in the main house in a room with a king bed. The bed was comfortable but the room was small and the bathroom tricky to navigate. You had to be careful going into the bathroom or using the commode or you could easily bump your head. The bathroom was light and airy and nicely finished. The big downer was there was no view of the vineyards only trees.

Sancerre is situated on the second floor in the quietest corner of the carriage house. Decorated in soft hues, this comfortable guest room is the most serene and feminine in the Carriage House. Designed especially for two people traveling together who prefer having their own beds, this guest room features a European style matrimonial style bed with plush mattress that can be configured as either a king size or twin beds, depending upon preference. Additional features include a 32 inch flat screen TV, gas fireplace, air conditioning, and a bath with Victorian claw-foot tub and other Victorian fixtures.
Situated on the first floor, this is one of our most charming and affordably priced guest rooms. It features vineyard views, a queen-size bed, air conditioning, small flat-screen TV, and a private bath with antique Victorian claw-foot tub. From this vantage point, you’ll be the first to awaken in the morning to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods.
Located on the second floor, Lorraine offers a queen bed, small flat-screen TV, air conditioning and four large bay windows views of our massive heritage oak tree AND vineyard views. Although it has its own spacious and well-appointed bathroom with claw-foot tub, one must venture a few steps out into the hallway to reach the bathroom. Purportedly haunted by a female ghost who frequents the hallway, those soft footsteps heard pacing outside your door may be of ghostly origin!
A large private deck with spectacular southern views of the surrounding vineyards is the special feature of this fabulous second floor guest room. Boldly decorated, appointed with a king bed with plush mattress, convertible sofa, gas fireplace and 42 inch flat screen TV, this spacious air conditioned guest room has been specially designed to help men feel more comfortable in a B&B setting. Not a lace doily to be found here in this light-filled romantic haven! A mirrored vanity and deep soaking tub with shower are the finishing touches to this very hip abode.
Vouvray has wonderful west-facing views of the vineyards and mountains, as well as private access to the west deck on the building. Resplendent in its vineyard colors, this expansive second floor guest room offers a king-sized bed with plush mattress and bold iron headboard. Features of this expansive guest room include an electric fireplace, 42 inch flat screen TV, air conditioning, gorgeous French antiques, and a completely remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower made of bronze and green glass mosaic tile. Tres chic!
Situated on the first floor, the Montrachet suite has its own private entrance, sitting area, and kitchenette. Measuring nearly 500-square-feet, a person could almost play hide and seek in this expansive guest room which includes a king bed with firm mattress, air conditioning, fireplace, 42 inch flat screen TV, Jacuzzi tub for two with vineyard views, and separate shower. There’s also a private deck just steps away from the surrounding vineyards.
The air-conditioned Petite Auberge is a bright and spacious, newly remodeled two-bedroom, one-bath cottage in the heart of Alexander Valley wine country. The spectacular vineyard views from the cottage are the main attraction. Kick back on the expansive private deck and soak up the sun – or relax under the leafy canopy of a 100+ year old tree and feel the cool evening breeze on your face as you take in a sunset over the hillside. Cheerfully decorated with an eclectic mix of antiques and modern furniture, this cottage will allow you to enjoy all the comforts of home without any of the bother. A great-room style living/dining/kitchen area brings friends and family together. The living room has a 55-inch flat-screen TV with BluRay player and a wonderful collection of DVDs on hand (although, frankly, with the vineyard views we enjoy, who wants to watch TV?)
In one of our most popular rooms, enjoy a view of the wooded hills from a quaint window seat accented with four large bay windows. Located on the second floor, this air conditioned guest room has an oak high-back king bed featuring a fabulous vantage point from which one can gaze out the window or watch TV. The large private bath is distinctively retro, with two sinks, vineyard views, large walk-in shower with skylight, and plenty of room for that private massage if you feel like treating yourself.
