This is a fun, historic hotel. I wanted to get away in a one off type place that wasn't your typical generic hotel and this place delivers. It's right in the middle of downtown Benicia as well so it's really fun/lively on the weekends. Bed was comfortable and jetted tub was huge. Just make sure you email/call if you plan to check in after 6pm...they setup your access a little different after hours.

Old charming hotel. Comfortable bed, great bathroom, sunny room. My dog was treated very well. Perfect central location. Walk to shops and shore. The elevator is noisy so stay away from it. Breakfast is basic. This is a B and B not a "hotel". I will return. I was delighted with it. I didn't eat at the hotel.

I was very satisfied with my stay. Free WiFi and continental breakfast. Great accommodations. Very nice staff. Bars and restaurants within walking distance.

We only stayed for one night but the hotel exceeded our expectations. Very nice atmosphere and dining experience. Set in old town Benicia, anyone would have a great experience.

We love the Union Hotel, and will stay here again. Our room was large and comfortable, and the Jacuzzi tub is lovely to sink in to! We had the continental breakfast with was good, but did not have dinner in the dining room because we had an office Christmas dinner scheduled elsewhere. The dining room looked very inviting though, and the bar is beautiful. We would like to try the food here during our next stay. We highly recommend the Union Hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay!

Benicia is a lovely town, and I was excited to stay in this historic hotel right in the middle of downtown. My room overlooked First Street, so easily walkable to several restaurants and shopping. However, there was quite a bit of street noise late into the night, especially with Farmer's Market on Thursday night and live music and big crowds on Friday night. The room was nice and very roomy, the bed comfortable, and plenty of hot water. Was disappointed with the "continental breakfast" which consisted of boxed sugary cereals, coffee, tea, and a couple pieces of fruit. I have eaten in the restaurant in the past, which was delicious, but did not eat there on this trip. Still, it was a good value for the money, and I would definitely stay again in the future.

If you are going to arrive later than the 3pm to 6 pm check in time BE SURE to call and actually talk to someone at the hotel (leaving a message will not do) as you need a code to get in and there will be no one at the desk. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay. The room was older but pleasant. Some of the yelp reviews say that their rooms were not clean but ours was clean and neat. It is not the fanciest place, but was very pleasant. We stayed on Sunday night so there was no problem with noise. Street parking. Nice downtown Benicia location.

This was a quick getaway that was close enough to home so we didn't spend time traveling. I loved that we stayed in an historic building and we walked everywhere! Didn't need to use the car at all so it was very relaxing and refreshing!! Benicia is full of California history so check it out!!

Loved the room and had dinner at Randy's down the street. Met some great people.

We loved the location, a short walk from the fishing pier and gorgeous sunset views. Jazz in the restaurant downstairs on a Thursday night was a real bonus. The room was spacious and comfortable, with interesting, slightly funky decor. We weren't even tempted to turn on the very old TV, and the in-room coffee maker made stuff that tasted like cooked plastic---but the wonderful old stained glass windows in the bar and restaurant make the Union Hotel a real destination.

This place had me at "jacuzzi in every room." The beds are comfortable, the jacuzzi is big enough to stretch your legs across, water's hot, and room's are spacious and large even at the lower price points. We even had a refrigerator, sitting chair, and beautiful view from ours. The carpets are a nice touch and the room is beautifully decorated and easy on the eyes. Breakfast is no frills but made to order hot and fresh each morning - eggs, bacon, fruit, and toast with coffee/tea and oj - but ask for some cheese on the eggs and it becomes a diy bacon egg and cheese sandwich - delicious! Would come back in a heartbeat!

I planned my daughters birthday around this hotel and city. It was a more than pleasent stay. The hotel was more than accomadating! I needed to decorate her room and they worked with me through the whole thing. The girls had a fabulous time exploring this quaint little city. The room had air condition and a pull out sofa with a fridge and a microwave. Breakfast was included and seated in the Dinning Room and you had two choices to choose from. This hotel might just surprise you! My daughter and her guests loved it! Thank you Union Hotel for making her Birthday a great one!

I want here on my wedding night, after the hottest day of the year. The A/C was broken in the room that they had us in. We had to just live with the heat, cause they were booked. They moved us to a new room the next day, but I mean really. It was so hot, that we just sat in a tub of cool water most of the evening.
