Very far from the road, so be prepared to drive up a long private drive. Incredible views of the vinyards and surrounding hills. Supplied lots of snacks and breakfast, but restaurants are pretty far away.

My husband and I just stayed in the Dunning Vineyards guest house this past Mother's Day weekend. What a wonderful treat. Beautiful. The Villa is roomy. It even has a kitchenette, and dining area. The bathroom is very large. Awesome bathtub.. The views of the vineyards were just magical. Felt like we were in Europe. The guest villa sits above many of the vineyards. See the rolling hillsides. The breakfast provided were so tasty. The quiches we had spinach and cheese, then the next morning we had ham and egg quiche. Orange juice and coffee with some coffee cake muffins. What more can you ask except being with the one you love. We decided to bring an ice chest with snacks and water. The little refrigerator is a plus.We then went into town to go to dinner. The Dunnings are wonderful and friendly people. This trip we were able to talk with Bob (co-owner) about Paso itself and its history while wine tasting in their taste room. Come see them. You won't be disappointed. Stay the weekend and give them a try. See you again, Bob and Jo-Ann. Konki J. P.S. my rating shows an onsite dining: my mistake. You need to go into town for dining unless you do a take out and come back and enjoy the view on the awesome patio. Just relax and seriously enjoy the beauty and quietness.

Dunning Vineyards Guest Villa is a stand alone apartment located at the top of a rough, winding road. It has great expansive views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains, which are best enjoyed from the patio. It is very quiet except for chirping birds, farm equipment and the occasional overhead plane. Very relaxing and romantic. Inside, in the bathroom, there is a nice 2-person jetted tub with large windows. There is also a shower and a separate room for the toilet. The kitchenette has a small fridge (no freezer) and a microwave. Sufficient dishes and cookware were provided. Every day 2 servings of quiche, muffins and orange juice were provided in the fridge. The bed was made and towels were replaced daily. The king sized bed was very comfortable, though it seemed that the flat sheet and blanket were too short for the bed. Tasting of the winery's fine products was included. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the price was competetive but we do have a few suggestions: More attention could have been given to cleaning the place; lots of dust & cobwebs on screens, windows, lamps and under furniture. The shams and duvet cover appeared soiled. Patio plants had been neglected and weeds were sprouting up through the patio bricks. The patio fountain was out of commission. If a stovetop and freezer were included there would be more options for preparing meals for dining in. Some of the instructions for guests were outdated (how to turn on fountain) and hand written notes were left with the wifi password and satellite tv info. A bit more attention to details would make this b&b perfect.

We have already recommended Dunning Vineyards private Villa to some friends and look forward to returning to it someday. Convenient location for wine tasting and very private. Room amenities & serve yourself breakfast and coffee were excellent.

We had just one night at Bob's beautiful guest villa but we made the most of it. After a delicious meal in downtown Paso Robles, we soaked up the atmosphere of the vineyard in the giant jacuzzi bath while sipping on his house red. The following morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the patio while watching the local wildlife and taking in the stunning views, before enjoying a private tasting session with Bob in the tasting room. We arrived on a busy bottling day,but Bob couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Would 100% recommend for an authentic experience on a Californian vineyard.

If you want complete privacy, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect retreat for you. A nice, quaint little villa up a winding road with a breathtaking view of surrounding countryside and vineyard. The villa itself is nicely appointed with everything from a spacious bathroom with a luxurious jacuzzi tub to a small kitchenette with a mini fridge and microwave. It was like taking a weekend to Tuscany without the long flight as it is just a few hours drive from Los Angeles.

We found this place at the last minute, knowing we would only be spending 1 night in Paso Robles. The guest house is beautiful - high ceilings, huge bathroom, and beautiful views from the front steps. Bob is a great host - waited up for us even though we arrived late, did a tasting, and gave us some great lessons on wine. Sad we were only able to spend 1 night.
5 on February 27, 2015
Dunning vineyards guest villa exceeded my wildest expectations. The winding road up to the secluded villa was breathtaking, especially in the morning. We saw wild turkeys, and deer in the morning mist. The guest villa took us away to Italy. It was a dream. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a secluded getaway. We will be returning, often.

Excellent time spent at Dunning! We had the villa at the top of the hill and it was fantastic. The room was immaculate and the owners had provided fresh juice, yogurt and quiche for the next morning. There was also assorted chocolates, popcorn and a few other snacks/drinks. We were able to taste their wines. They're a small vineyard, and don't produce the mass amounts of wines of the larger vineyards, so it was nice to taste the quality wines they produce. We would definitely stay here again. While it seems they are away from the chaos of a city, they're still close enough to restaurants and other wineries to be able to enjoy the area. Only recommendation would be to tend to the keypad that opens the gate to the villa; the keys are pretty difficult to activate.

The Guest Villa was great! It was quiet and had a beautiful view. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away and that doesn't want to stay in a typical hotel. The wildlife is a great bonus.

Spent two nights at the villa at the end of August and it was everything we could have hoped for and a whole lot more! The peace and tranquility were just what we needed at this stage of our CA trip. The villa was so perfect that we didn't move from it for the duration of our stay other than a trip down to the wine tasting. We had brought some food in with us and although our intention was to go back into Paso Robles to dine we couldn't tear ourselves away from this little bit of paradise! The villa has everything you could possibly need for a short stay with breakfast items being placed in the fridge for the following morning. The quiche was SUPERB! Particularly the bacon one! We purchased one of the wines and thoroughly enjoyed it as we gazed over the beautiful countryside. The only thing that may have enhanced our stay further would be a couple of loungers. The chairs are perfectly adequate but we would have loved to have had the chance to lie star gazing at night. All in all I could not recommend the villa highly enough. I only wish it was closer to home and we would be back in the blink of an eye!

Spacious room, great bathroom, beautiful view, very comfortable bed, and fantastic owner. What more do you want? OK. There are more. Awesome wine, extremely quiet place (no one's around, except the owner's house next door), best value to stay in Paso Robles, and fine dining in downtown Paso Robles isn't too far away. Now, can you ask for anything more? Dunning Vineyards truly is a hidden gem.

Oh what a way to spend the afternoon. My Wife & I purchased a lovely bottle when we checked in. Sitting on the patio with wine & cheese overlooking the vineyard was just spectacular. At night cool breezes star lit sky and sound of surrounding nature made for a memorable stay. Highly recommend.

The view is magnificent and the privacy is exceptional. We had coffee and breakfast on the private patio each morning. I would recommend this B&B if you are looking to get away and feel like you are part of wine country. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom luxurious (the sink is a pedestal so there is nowhere to put any make-up or products). Since this was advertised as a “luxury villa” we had certain expectations. Continental breakfast – not really – there wasn’t a variety of baked goods, butter, jam and perhaps some cold meats and cheeses or other assorted pastries. What we had was a small pitcher of juice, a smaller container of milk, two pieces of quiche, two granola bars and two packages of instant oatmeal that were left in the refrigerator the day before for us to heat in the microwave. The quiche was good but we didn’t bother with the oatmeal and we had the granola bar as a snack during the day. Overall, less than we expected and we ran out of milk for our coffee both days - I'm sure if we'd thought of it after the first day, we could have requested more. It would have been nice to have some bottled water or sodas in the fridge. Unfortunately the "welcome" letter was buried under a plate on the table so we didn't actually see it until our last day - it actually pointed out that the water in the shower is reversed and would have saved us a call to the owner upon arrival. The biggest problem with this B&B is cleanliness – the cloth placemats, napkins, & bath towels all had stains, the utensils in the drawer had crusted food on them, the robes had holes and other people's hair on them - basically, I don't believe that anything was really cleaned and sanitized before our arrival. I do think that a quick afternoon spent at Home Goods to pick up some decorative elements and clean/new robes, towels, etc. and a little more attention to the breakfast, would do this B&B a world of good and make this a must go back to B&B.

We were greeted warmly by our hosts, Bob & Jo-Ann. Our room was nestled into their vineyard behind a key code entry gate for added security. We were given the run of the land to enjoy morning and evening walks with our dog. We enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness provided by the property on which we stayed.

My wife and I decided to add an extra stop on our trip to our nieces's wedding and decided Paso Robles would be a good spot, She had been to Dunning before with her sister for a tasting and was sure I would like the reds. We arrived a little before the end of tasting but enjoyed an unhurried opportunity to try our way through from white to red - She was right and we had to make a little extra room in the back for a case to go. We spent only one night in their hill top Casita, which has extraordinary views. The dogs enjoyed several long walks in the vineyard before we left and we enjoyed a quiche muffins (from a local french bakery) and fresh juice left conveniently in the fridge for our early morning exit. Bob and Jo-Ann were very inviting and we will look forward to swinging buy the next time we have the chance.

This experience was perfect, and even better than we imagined. Fantastic views of the beautiful vineyard, lots of privacy, and very upscale accommodations. Our host was very personable and welcoming. Breakfast is ready when you are, which you get to enjoy from the patio while taking in the view. They have lots of snacks and wine to enjoy as well. We wished we could stay longer!

Dunning Vineyards Villa is a wonderful getaway. Starting with wine tasting in the Dunning Winery which is fantastic you drive through the scenic vineyard a short distance to the hilltop villa. What a view! Tastefully decorated, it is perfect for a couple. Exceptionally clean. Sip wine on the patio and watch the distant fog roll in from the coast. The breakfast was from a Paso bakery and was very nice. Be aware that there is a microwave for hot food.

This guest house in on top of a rolling hill that looks over Paso Robles, and the Dunning Vineyard. The accomodations, the ambience and the service were quite amazing. The owner himself opened the vineyard up for us for a special tasting as we came during the week when it was typically closed. The value and time spent are completely worth the trip. Bob was so accomodating and sweet. You would be a fool to pass up this place.

We stayed at the Guest Villa at Dunning Vineyards based on a recommendation from a friend. It was even more romantic and wonderful than we thought it would be! The villa is beautiful. Everything you want can be found within the four walls - a small kitchen filled with breakfast (homemade quiche, blueberry muffins, juice, milk, coffee), cheese and crackers, and all kinds of little touches that made it special. The king size is bed is comfy and the view from the bed is spectacular. The jacuzzi bathtub is large enough for two (and so is the large shower!). There is a large, secluded patio with table and chairs and a fountain, so you can sit outside and drink your wine (I recommend their Syrah), eat your cheese and crackers and just unwind and reconnect with your honey. The villa is a short drive to downtown Paso Robles, which has tons of great restaurants. And, it's right off of Highway 46, where there are tons of other wineries to visit, if you're up for wine tasting. There are deer everywhere and it just adds to the beauty and the feeling of seclusion. I highly recommend staying here. We're already planning our return trip - but next time we're planning to stay two nights.

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. It was private, romantic and luxurious. Everything we had been hoping for. Bob Dunning took great care of us! There was beautiful quiche and coffee cake in the refrigerator for our morning breakfast along with coffee and orange juice. I loved that we had the convenience to eat when we wanted instead of being on someone else's schedule like you are at most B&B's. Bob also allowed us to check out late due to not having another guest that next evening which made for an even more relaxed stay. We are Paso Robles locals and will be recommending the Dunning Vineyard Guest Villa to all of our friends and family.

My girlfriend and I stayed at dunning for 1 night as a quick getaway. Though we knew it was going to be a beautiful room with a great view, nothing could have prepared us for what we got. The guest villa at dunning was absolutely breathtaking. The room had everything we needed for one night, ad though we knew that Bob was just a phone call away, he and his wife did a great job at making us feel like we were the only two people on the vineyard. I rated dining a 3 because there was none on the vineyard, this is what we expected so we cannot dock the vineyard for that. This was well worth the money and I look forward to staying there again in the future.

Nice casita located on a hill with sweeping views (the best part of the lodging). Room was OK - nice bathroom but the lighting/electrical switching system was burdensome. Breakfast was sort of do-it-yourself in a small kitchen area. Host was very welcoming and wine barn is worth visiting. Biggest pluses - privacy, acres of winery and open space, great views.

Total relaxation in seclusion & comfort! We spent hours every morning & evening enjoying the beautiful view from the hilltop overlooking the valley vineyards! We looked forward to every sunrise & sunset. I can't stop thinking about how much we enjoyed our stay and when we can get away again! We'll be back!

The drive up to the villa was challenging, but the view from the patio is spectacular! It's also very private, and if you like stargazing, away from city lights. A highlight is the large tub with a wall of windows overlooking the vineyards. The place has a king-size bed, large flat-panel TV, microwave and small refrigerator but no freezer. The bathroom is also gorgeous. And you can't leave without tasting the Dunnings' wine! We joined the club.

The Dunning Vineyards Guest Villa is a great place to stay for a romantic and relaxing weekend getaway. The view of the vines from the top of the hill is beautiful. This private oasis away from the hustle and bustle of town was exactly what we needed. Bob and Jo-Ann were very accommodating and their breakfast service was delicious. We also loved their estate wines, which were available within the villa kitchenette. We will definitely be coming back!

If you want serenity and a beautiful view this is it! We stayed for a long weekend at the beginning of November and were very happy with our choice of B & B. Very comfortable and worth the price for what you get. We rated the dining on what we thought it would be as we did not dine there.

The Dunning Vineyards Guest Villa is a unique and private room at the top of the hill next to the Dunning's residence. A wall separates the Villa from the family home, providing a private retreat at the Guest Villa. The Villa itself is spacious and comfortable with a patio looking over the vineyards and hills. Everything we needed was at the Villa, including breakfast, which was good because of the remote location and our reluctance to leave the serene location.

The Dunning Guest Villa is absolutely gorgeous, and you will be captivated by it inside and out. Owners Bob and Janice our gracious hosts, and the homemade quiche in the morning was delicious. The location within the backcountry of Paso Robles is perfect for a day of winetasting.
4.4 on August 14, 2012
Stunning detached villa constructed in the Tuscany style - 12 foot ceilings, soothing beige and brown motif, giant whirlpool tub, and huge perfect bed. You are high on a hill in a remote part of wine country, so the only noise you hear are crickets in the evening and roosters (far away) in the morning. Breathtaking view. Very lovely. Bob and Jo-Ann are charming and they turn out first class wine too. Only drawback is that the breakfast part is more Continental than what we're used to. Otherwise, a perfect getaway. We'll be back.

My wife and I stayed two nights in July 2012 and loved the guest villa. Bob was very nice and gave us a private wine tasting of their fabulous wines. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience.

Don't let the long, narrow (and partially unpaved) roads stop you. The Dunning Vineyard Guest Villa is a beautiful oasis in the country. It sits atop the rolling hills and overlooks the entire valley. Bob and Jo-Ann are wonderful hosts. The villa is so tastefully decorated and has its own private patio. There are thoughtful amenitites including a delicious breakfast items...and of course, bottles of Dunning award-winning wines. We very highly recommend the Villa! Nancy and David Haller

The landscaping in front of the villa however could use some freshing up, at least pull the weeds. The tasting room was getting a over haul, at least htat what it seemed. After being greeted with a wine tasting at the Winery, Bob was kind enough to show us the way up the hill to the villa. Our son had stayed here before and we had seen photos, yet we were still unprepared for the fabulous view and privacy that awaited us. The room is spacious with a very comfortable bed and fabulous bath (especially loved the tub). Home cooked goodies (even quiche!) are provided for breakfast. The patio is a great place for lingering over a good book and wine. During our stay, there were amazing hummingbirds that provided great bird watching as they constantly visited the fountain to drink and fed from the potted plants. And we visited several times by the Dunning's very friendly dog. It is also great property for a morning walk.
5 on September 12, 2011
My husband requested at least 2 nights but there was only 1 night available so we had only the one night to bask in the villa's warmth, charm and thoroughly relaxing beauty. Unfortunately, we were unable to arrive in time for a sunset drink on the patio overlooking the vineyard valley below. However, the morning sunrise was spectacular with hummingbirds visiting the water fountain and flowers on the patio. Everything was exactly what we looked forward to and was totally worth it for just the one night. We look forward to visiting regularly.

The Guest Villa at Dunning Vineyards is a treasure. If you seek peace, quiet, and a luxurious place in which to privately enjoy the company of another or your own thoughts, this is your spot. High on a mountain overlooking rolling hills of vineyards, the guest villa is equipped with all you will need including a huge jacuzzi spa tub, satellite TV & radio, fridge stocked with snacks, cupboards with tea, coffee, cocoa, wine, lovely china and silverware, a kingsized bed, huge shower and bath - it's divine, and very reasonably priced. Bob and Joanne Dunning have created a one-of-a-kind spot just 10 minutes from downtown Paso Robles, unique and restorative of mind, body and soul. Their home is just next door, should you need anything, and the wine tasting room is down the hill a ways. The Zinfandels are especially wonderful, but all the wine is delicious and you will not want to leave without joining their wine club, which also gives you built in discounts on the guest palace-oops I mean "villa"! Not to be dismissed are the animals you will see around during your stay, most often Ralphie their sweet and affectionate dog and the sleek black vineyard cat who just loves to be petted and scratched. We also saw deer, wild turkeys, hummingbirds on the villa patio. Many wonderful birds can be heard and observed from the table and chairs on the stone patio that overlooks the 180 degreee views of paradise below, as you sip your wine or tea or coffee and relish the sweet fresh air, fabulous vistas, and total peace you find yourself in. You will want to book ahead and plan your return!

Spent 2 nights at Dunnings B&B in Paso Robles. Loved the views at the villa. The villa was spacious and very confortable. Loved the jetted tub. As wine club members received a free bottle of wine with our stay and of course tastings of the wonderful wines in the tasting room. Breakfast was simple but good, quiche, bagels, fruit, juice and coffee. The location is ideal, very private, and no other guests! Saw deer and a fox frolicing around the vineyards on the drive up to the villa. We will be back for sure.

The view from the Dunning guest villa is amazing. The tall ceilings really add a dramatic effect. The jet tub is nice, and was the shower. The refrigerator was stocked with bagels, bread, cream cheese, coffee, and orange juice. The villa has DirecTV, which was really nice. A few additional touches would be nice. I would suggest adding a toaster oven, instead of just a regular toaster. And, the WiFi signal was really weak. The villa was advertised as having free WiFi, but I could only pick up the signal on my iPod Touch if I held it really high in the air. But, the view really made up for any WiFi signal I didn't have. I would stay here again. You really feel like you're getting away from it all.

My fiance and I stayed here Christmas Eve, and Bob accommodated us with an afternoon wine tasting before taking us to the villa. The wines are excellent and unique -- I highly recommend them. And Bob was very friendly, sharing interesting information about his wines and the history of wine making in the Paso Robles region. This visit to California was the first time we did wine tasting and Bob's personality contributed to an extremely positive experience. Then the Dunning villa -- nothing whatsoever to complain about. It was stunning and perfect, with a gorgeous view of the vineyards and rolling hill countryside. Two thumbs up and full stars.

Our recent stay at the Dunning Vineyards guest villa was very enjoyable. The setting is spectacular, very scenic, private and quiet. The villa is modern and very clean and appointed with nearly everything one would need. Two additions would be most welcome on our next stay: an iron and ironing board, and more space to place one's clothing. We'll definitely stay again next time we visit the Paso Robles area. The dining rating is based on our dining experiences in the city of Paso Robles, which were excellent, in particular our two dinners at Artisan Bistro

The Dunning Vineyard Guest Villa exceeded all our expectations. Set high on a ridge, the view is sDunning, no less. We arrived late in the evening, and a couple of bottles the local wine were waiting for us. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a starlit sky and the beautiful fresh air. A magic moment! Next day we had a long chat with the owner, Bob, and tasted his products, and they are Outstanding! All in all very recommendable.

We've stayed at some very nice B&Bs but this guest villa is by far our favorite. The one bedroom villa is spacious, very comfortable, clean, private, and with luxurious amenities. We loved the Tuscany style decor. Bob and Jo-Ann were friendly and inviting. They made sure we had everything we needed and that we had our complete privacy. The view from the terrace was beautiful early morning, dusk, and evening hours and the sound of the fountain on the terrace was so soothing. We absolutely loved our stay and look forward to going back

This hilltop villa with panoramic views of the west side Paso Robles mountain range and vineyards is breathtaking. The Dunnings have created a romantic refuge with top notch bedding, jacuzzi tub, and a wonderful deck to relax and enjoy the country setting. This gem is a must for anyone wanting a private respite nestled in the vineyards. Truly an outstanding destination!

JoAnne, and Bob, have just completed a new guest Villa with a view that cant be beat. The two person whirlpool tub, and super tall ceilings offer every comfort one could ask for. Combine that with the ultra plush robes and towels and you almost dont want to leave to go wine tasting. These guys should be very proud of what they have to offer, we will be staying here many times in the future.

SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THIS LOVELY PLACE. THE VIEWS WERE GREAT AS WE SAT ON THE PATIO AND ENJOYED OUR DELICIOUS DUNNING WINE, ESPECIALLY AT SUNSET. THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE & MADE IT EASY TO SLEEP IN LATER THAN I NORMALLY DO. PEACE AND QUIET AND A PERFECT GET AWAY FOR 2!
