The Old St. Angela Inn is now a cozy Bed and Breakfast Inn overlooking the natural beauty of the Monterey Bay. It was born a country home in 1910, converted to a rectory and then a convent in 1920, Within this turn-of-the-century, shingle-style home are rooms of distinctive individuality and warmth to provide you with comfort and serenity. Each Guest Room has a private bath, turn of the century antiques, little teddy bears, and other pleasant surroundings provide a relaxing, informal, "home away from home." Just 100 yards away from the water and only minutes from excellent restaurants and shopping areas, world class golf courses, Monterey's Old Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Walk to beaches, parks, museums and famed Lovers Point. Our Innkeeper will assist you with any dinner reservations, tours, picnics, bike rides and other special services to maximize your relaxation and enjoyment.

My husband and I stayed at Old St. Angela Inn this past weekend. It was a spontaneous trip. The Inn happened to have a last minute cancellation. We stayed in the Cape Cod Room. The Inn was just what we needed. I am very picky and my husband always worries if I am going to be comfortable. The service was great and you can't get a better value for your $. I enjoyed the atmosphere which was serene and relaxing. The breakfast was really good, better than dining out. I also enjoyed the tea time, which include red and white wine and delicious appetizers. The location was magnificent, we were one block from the ocean, so we weren't on the main drag, but we were close enough to just walk, 3 minutes if that and we were at the ocean. It was nice to arrive at the Inn and park your vehicle and be able to walk every where else until we departed. It was hard to leave, we will be back. If you are sensitive to a little street noise do not select Cape Cod Room. We were just lucky to get a room at the last minute so we are not complaining. I do not recommend eating on Cannery Row, Yelp and find some great alternatives.

We stayed two nights in the "Whale Watching" room at St. Angela Inn. We wish we were able to stay more! The room was so cozy and cute, and the view of the Pacific Ocean made it even more perfect! Each morning, I walked the block down to the ocean and visited with sea otters and harbor seals. It was my favorite part of the day. When I returned to the inn, I enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast (Mexican Quiche and Croissant, strawberry french toast). They also had wine, appetizers and sweets at 4:30 for the guests. All the food was excellent. The innkeepers were very polite, friendly and appreciative of our visit. At times, you can hear other guests walking up the stairs or turning on the shower. But it didn't keep me from relaxing or sleeping. It's an old house, so I kind of expected a little noise. I enjoyed the stay so much, I was kind of depressed when I had to leave to be honest. If I ever make it back to Monterey, I will be staying at St. Angela Inn.

We stayed at Old St. Angela's in April of 2011. A very homey and comfortable inn. The hosts were very pleasant and very helpful. Had wonderful breakfasts both mornings. Conveniently located to beaches and within walking distance to downtown Monterrey including the Aquarium and Cannery Row. Maybe just the luck of the draw, but the other guests were also very friendly, and told us that they are annual visitors there. Given other options in the area, this inn also offers very good value considering its location and the quality of the accommodations. Parking is on the street, but we did not have any trouble finding a space while we were there, but at a more in season time it might be an issue to find parking.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay two nights and had to leave early on the second day and miss breakfast. Dianne's breakfast on the first morning was great!. Jerry couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The rooms were charming, without being overdone, and the bathrooms were clean and spacious. The grounds are immaculate, and the way the Inn is situated, you do not feel like you are part of the crush of tourists in Monterey. If I am ever that way again, business or pleasure, I will be staying here.

My wife and I stayed in the Garden Gable room. Quiet. Jacuzzi tub. Seemed to be out and away from the other rooms a little bit more than the others. We had a relaxing evening and woke up the next morning to have a delightful breakfast. We did show up a little late that evening but the stay for the price was well worth it. Thank you to the inn keepers for our stay!
