About

We are setting the new standard for the American Bed and Breakfast Inn. We cater to the new generation of B&B guests who want something more than doilies, egg bakes, and cheap sherry. With no televisions in the rooms, we choose to be counter-cultural and encourage our guests to disconnect from the world in order to reconnect to each other. This is not an inn for traditional B&B people. We are attracting the next generation who want great food for breakfast, well beyond the traditional omelets, frittatas, and egg bakes of old. This is where you get to experience a chef’s creative innovation each morning, one of his 150 recipes for breakfast, such as Corndog Omelets, Tomato and Egg Soup with Grilled Cheese Croutons, or S’mores French Toast with house made Marshmallows. And, YES, WiFi is available for those who feel they must stay connected to the outside world, but our hope is that you will learn to leave all that aside to enjoy great Napa hospitality here at the inn and at the wineries. We are in the heart of downtown historic Napa with access to 400 plus wineries in the valley, and Sonoma is just a 15-minute drive away.

Beautiful!

We had a wonderful stay, Jim was very helpful in recommending an itinerary for our day out in Napa. Their home was beautiful and the breakfasts were fit for a king.

Can't Wait to Go Back

4.8 on August 15, 2017

Jamie and Jim are the consummate hosts. Warm and engaging and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was better each and every day. The property is charming and the garden is beautiful. I highly recommend the Inn on First with no hesitation. We would not only plan to stay there again, we would plan a trip around being there.

What a lovely place!

5 on August 06, 2017

We stayed one night and didn't want to leave. The room we stayed in was clean, comfy and large. This place pays attention to details down to bath salts for you to try. Cookies, tea and coffee always available and even a picnic basket ready to go. The breakfast was amazing! We will definitely come back but this time for a longer stay!

Innkeeper Response
We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed staying with us so much and enjoying all of our little extras. Come stay with us again soon!

Great Place to Relax

4.2 on August 03, 2017

First time in Napa and fell in love with Jim and Jamie's hospitality. The welcome bubbles, port, afternoon cookies, and morning breakfast feasts are amazing! Even if one is not a big breakfast eater, make room and time for Jim's creations. Book your wine tour with Jamie. He's very knowledgeable, personable, and will get you into dome amazing places. Be sure to ask Jim for dinner recommendations, too. He won't disappoint.

Innkeeper Response

Amazing B&B

5 on July 11, 2017

Our stay was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and incidentals for wine country exploring such as water bottles and even a backpack to enjoy during the visit were available. The breakfasts were delicious and fresh, along with fresh juice. Each morning was another different but fabulous meal! We highly recommend it!!!

Innkeeper Response

Great introduction to Napa

4.2 on July 04, 2017

Beautiful convenient location. The inn keepers went out of their way to assist, offer suggestions and ensure that guests had plans and arrangements made if desired. Our room was very comfortable. Only complaint is that the AC is very loud. The facilities and grounds are very nice.

Fantastic B&B

5 on May 15, 2017

I don't think I could say enough good things about this place or the couple who runs it that would do it justice. Jim and Jamie are so accommodating and on top of things and their B&B is so clean, relaxing and beautiful. The breakfasts we ate were outstanding and so different. Jim makes them fresh each morning. The breakfast area is very peaceful with running water and delicious scones/pastries to munch on as you wait for your breakfast to be served. Both Jim and Jamie made it a point to ensure we had a great experience outside the B&B as well. They recommended touring companies, restaurants, and things to do around Napa. They even called into a restaurant that's tough to get reservations for and got us a table for that night. This really was an incredible place that I would recommend to anyone staying in Napa. Thanks Jim, Jamie and your adorable pups for making it an unforgettable trip for us.

Innkeeper Response

Thanks again for choosing our B&B, we appreciate your recommendation, and we hope to see you again in the future!

Signature Dish

Corndog Omelet
Take an open faced omelet. Fill it with spinach, prosciutto, and pepper jack cheese. Roll it up into a long cigar shape. Cut it in half, dip it in corndog batter and deep-fry until golden brown. Served with mustard, this dish brings together the smoky, sweet, spicy goodness of breakfast in every bite.
