Great Stay at Maya Mountain Lodge

4.6 on January 26, 2018

Elmer and Jose were very helpful from reservation to our departure. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The room was not fancy, but the attraction of Maya Mountain Lodge is outside. The vegetation, the pool, the birds and the smells of this awesome location must be experienced out doors, maybe in the hammock. Chef Norberto expertly executes the healthy choice menu and offers many flexible choices. His preparation of a T-bone steak was perfectly cooked and tender. The Ethic dishes provided a delicious culinary tour of Belize's six most dominant again with a level of flexibility. Chatting with Bart, exploring the grounds and spending a couple of days in the kitchen with Ms. Elisa and her crew were highlights of our stay. We will return, because we fell in love with this awesome location and the terrific people that made our stay so memorable.

Wonderful jungle retreat

4.6 on January 17, 2018

My family of five stayed at the Maya Mountain lodge from 12/29/2017 - 1/2/2018. The lodge itself was beautiful and the grounds kept up very nicely. The service and food were both outstanding. They made it a priority to source only the best foods and to prepare new and interesting meals each day taking from myriad local cultures. The staff was warm, engaging and helpful every step of the way. We could not have been happier with our stay in the Belizean jungle.

It’s ok

4.0 on January 03, 2018

Staff is wonderful, the food is great, and the rooms are clean. However for the food to be wonderful you have to wait a very long time. One night we waited over an hour for our supper. Breakfast was a little faster with about a 25-35 min wait. We ate here because it was part of the package with our room. Internet was horrible and you can barely get on. Full strength, but pages never loaded. I’d stay here again if nothing else was available, as it was the staff who made the place better.

Had a wonderful time

The staff was so helpful and welcoming. I stayed there 10 years ago and had a wonderful experience, and it is just as lovely! 3 of us stayed in a cottage with one bed and 2 bunk beds. Food delicious!

Pleasant stay, thanks to great staff

4.2 on January 11, 2017

My family had a very pleasant stay at the lodge during the holidays. The staff are all amazing and personable. We had breakfasts everyday and dinner one night at the lodge. The food was decent, although we did choose to eat in many of the restaurants in town for the rest of the nights. We had a car and would advise that although the town is somewhat within walking distance, it is much easier to get around with a car. The walk back to the lodge is also uphill.

October Stay

Great staff - nice locale - good food

Almost perfect

4.8 on August 01, 2016

Everything was perfect! The staff was really nice, the food in the restaurant delicious and the location beautyful! The only thing that wasn't perfect was the wifi. It got really slow in the evening. But important things, like writing emails, were still working. So no big problem. I would definitly stay there again!

Jungle Getaway

4.6 on May 22, 2016

The room was much better than I expected. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The tours were terrific. Every night was a different menu. We were disappointed that the chocolate making workshop had to be postponed to the day after we checked out. Terrific coffee with breakfast!
