From our first contact until our departure we have nothing but good things to say about this bed and breakfast. The large house is situated to give you a amazing view of a large lake surrounded by big pine trees. The room we were given was large and comfortable with a great view. Down the hall there was a large room with a big TV with every channel you could ever want. They had soft drinks and snacks and even gave us small bottles of wine that was really good. The breakfast was so good we didn't even need lunch. Our hosts were great tour guides, directing us to great little restaurants and pubs. and other places like one of the worlds best gardens which was only a few miles away. The only thing that might be negative for some is that it was wonderfully rural and not easy to get to Victoria if that is the purpose of your visit. We loved the hosts and felt it was the best deal we got on our whole trip.
thank you for this awesome review it was pleasure to have you stay with us and hope you come again David and Jill

We had a great stay here. There is an amazing view, everything was clean and tidy, and David, the host, was very generous and even gave us free wine. Breakfast was delicious. The price is extremely reasonable. We would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I recently stayed for two nights at this very nice, off the beaten path, BnB. David was extremely gracious and full of interesting history and stories. We elected to have breakfast a little later, but the irresistible aromas from his early morning preparations brought us to the table early each day for a breakfast any way we wanted it. Very close to Butchart Gardens and less than 30 minutes from downtown Victoria. The views from our room were simply outstanding. If we ever get back to that part of the world, this BnB will be on out list. The Humfelds

My husband and I were in our third week of travel...starting in Fairbanks, AK working our way down to Seward for a southbound cruise through the Inside Passage, ending up in Vancouver, B.C. for a short stay...then over to Vancouver Island. We had never been in this area before and wanted to stay somewhere other than a "city"...someplace we could unwind, get into the culture a bit, and experience the "behind the scenes" beauty of Vancouver Island. We could not have chosen a better place! Rae Leigh Heights B&B is located in Saanichton and is a "hidden gem" high up on the side of a mountain In Saanichton with vistas that will take your breath away. It's also close to the town of Sydney, which has excellent restaurants and shopping. We were so excited when we arrived and just can't say enough about this dream of a B&B's location! Our stay was in the Opal room. We took time to go into Victoria one day, which is about 20 minutes away, but we were eager to get back to the B&B to sit on our balcony. Then, the next day, we enjoyed touring Butchard Gardens, which is only about a 10-15 minute drive away...but, again, we just wanted to go back to the B&B and sit on the balcony to look at the hummingbirds and the views! Dave and Jill Bailey, and their son, Mark, were so gracious to talk with us, but also leave us to our "space". Such nice people! The first evening we were very tired from travel and had decided not to go out to dinner...Dave would have no part of us not eating, so he whipped us up a delicious sandwich. We had our own refrigerator...and they provided ongoing snacks, Coffee, wine...whatever we wanted! Must say, our favorite highlight of visiting Vancouver Island, B.C. was staying at Rae Leigh Heights. This B&B exceeded our expectations and we hope to go back one day!

What a wonderful and peaceful place! My husband and I wanted to find a place "off the beaten path" so to speak! This B&B is located 12 min from Victoria, North East from Buchart Gardens, nestled in the forest on the mountain. The hosts greeted us so warmly and were a joy and so much fun to be around! The service they gave us was wonderful. We swam in the pool, enjoyed the hot tub and David kindly showed us some walking trails around their place. The breakfast was wonderful. The atmosphere was welcoming and so much fun! We felt at home right away! The room was a little small, but we were late with our booking, so we got their so called spare room. It was still lovely! The location is awesome and we truly enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful setting! The views are incredible! We will come back for sure! Thank you David and Jill for making our stay so lovely!

David was wonderfully friendly and kind. He drove us from the airport and downtown as we needed. It was the perfect getaway after our hectic wedding. The view can't be beat, and we enjoyed the hot tub and the complementary wine :)

Thank you for an amazing stay. We had no idea what to expect as the room was booked for us. This is no ordinary B and B! We were greeted by David as we drove up and were welcomed with open arms. After viewing our room (Opal), our private terrace with amazing views and the common area, we went to hot tub with complimentary champagne, towels and robes. We had access to a pool, walks on trails, delicious breakfasts, complimentary wine and great views during our entire stay. We were sad to leave! Thank you David and Jill for the best stay!

Booking lodging via the internet is always a bit of a guessing game. Through BedandBreakfast.com, we reserved Rae Leigh Heights for a recent weekend getaway. We could not have done much better. The home’s location is idyllic. Situated on a hill at the very end of a quiet lane, RLH features stunning views of the Saanich Inlet and surrounding hills. While the trees stand tall about the property, the open garden offers sweeping vistas of the bay and landscape below. From the moment we stepped from the car, the fresh air and peaceful setting began working their magic on us. As our host said, if you squint a little bit, “you can almost see the Vikings’ sails making their way up the fjord…” The home itself is well appointed. Common areas are welcoming and comfortable. Interesting décor from various places around the world lend an international feel. We found our room to be very comfortable and tasteful. It felt like home within minutes. A comfortable bed, sufficient closet storage, an in-room coffee maker, and breathtaking views combined into a restful hideaway. We found our hosts, David and Jill, to be among the friendliest folks you could ever hope to meet. Their gracious hospitality, attentiveness, and kindness were wonderful. They took splendid care of us. The generosity of David’s fresh breakfast portions was matched only by his sense of humor. We recommend booking here only if you enjoy a restful home, in scenic beauty, with friendly hospitality, run by kind people. Just, please, don’t book it when we want to be there. Michael & Lindy

This is not an ordinary B&B, apart from the picture-postcard view, charming hosts, wonderful breakfast, it is very quite yet close to downtown Victoria or Airport. It is worth the try to stay at this place and enjoy the warm hospitality offered by the hosts.

Stayed at this BnB for six days 13-19 April 2016. Very friendly hosts Jill and David, their house is beautiful and the scenery is priceless, a nice place to stay if you want to relax in a quiet setting. They have one small apartment that has all the facilities, it would be suitable for a couple who wants to celebrate an anniversary and cook their own meals. I was welcomed with open arms and a glass of wine - bonus after being on the train four days and a few hours on the bus/ferry to the island - it was like being home away from home. With the huge of breakfast they serve you will not go hungry, all fresh and delicious. Thank you Jill and Dave, I enjoyed my time while staying at your place, hopefully you will have many people coming to your place // Lise

My sister and I stayed at this B&B the end of March and it was fabulous. The hosts are very gracious and fun to visit with. The property is beautiful and the walking trail was a wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and way more food than one should eat in a sitting. There were several other guests while we were there and no issues with noise at all, great sound proofing work on the rooms. My sister and I drove in to Victoria sight seeing, as this was our plan, but I would go back to Rae Leigh just to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the quiet beauty of the property. I will be visiting this place again and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in this area.
