Sedona Paradise

5 on September 14, 2018

This little gem is tucked away in the heart of Sedona. Almost everything is within walking distance: galleries, restaurants, shopping, wine bars... The hotel itself is enchanting. From the Trumpet Vines covering the entry - which brings the Hummingbirds - to the vine covered patio where you sit by the fire every night, to the comfort of the individually decorated rooms. It is so quiet, you feel completely secluded from the rest of the world. The food is outstanding and the portions are HUGE! We are definitely going to stay here again. Absolutely loved it!

What a wonderful surprise!

4.6 on September 14, 2018

El Portal was a delightful place. Located in a highly desirable location yet is was tucked away and very private. The rooms were a interesting surprise and furnished comfortably (except for the pillows which were overstuffed and a real neck killer!). The homey atmosphere was inviting and I would love to stay here again.

BEST IN THE WEST

5 on August 30, 2018

Steve and Connie have an incredible eye for detail, and a harmony not found in many lodges. With an astounding collection of Spanish Revival and early Calif antiques they have furnished each of the twelve rooms accordingly. Amenities abound with hors d'ouves in the afternoons, cookies and other treats. Rooms are spacious with saltillo tile floors, fireplaces and comfy chairs. The Great Room, where breakfast is served is as welcoming as they come. Chirping birds, Craftsman furniture and windows looking on to the enclosed gardens and patio provide a secluded beauty. If you are lucky Steve will have his two basset hounds( the ambassadors) about!. This ;lodge is completely PET FRIENDLY . We will no doubt be back on our way thru Sedona!!!...Marc & Ria

Gem of a Place!

4.8 on August 22, 2018

What a wonderful place this is! We had a very comfortable stay here. This is one of the best dog friendly properties we've stayed. The courtyard area is lovely and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting out there in the mornings and evenings along with our Golden. The breakfasts were delicious. The location is perfect. You can walk to shopping and restaurants. Our dog loved this place. Upon check in you receive a basket for your pet with treats, blankets, etc. Our dog loved his blanket, and that is what he slept on. We would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning!

Innkeeper Response

Sedona Bliss

5 on August 21, 2018

What a hidden pleasure - big enough for all the top line services and small enough not to be over run with people. PET friendly the biggest plus. Beautiful rooms, private patios and friendly guests, what's not to like! Come relax at El Portal, you'll be glad you did.

Perfect Sedona Experience

5 on August 20, 2018

From the moment we checked in to El Portal we felt at home. Steve and Connie were gracious hosts and the hotel is simply beautiful. Each room has it's own unique feel and are spacious and comfortable. In the evening we sat by the fire in the courtyard and enjoyed the night sky. Our only regret was not stating for more than one night.

Innkeeper Response
We wish you could have stayed longer too - there's so much to experience here in Sedona! Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We hope to see you again!

The only place I've ever stayed in Sedona

4.8 on August 13, 2018

This is my 4th time staying at El Portal, always in a different room. The staff has always been great. My favorite thing to do is come into the court yard at the end of the evening and have a night cap by the fire.

Innkeeper Response
Thanks for your great review! Love how you end your evenings! Hope to see you again.

A must stay in Sedona!

5 on August 11, 2018

We absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to go back! We only stayed one night because we were on our way to the Grand Canyon. I wished we had more time here. The owners were so friendly the rooms were gorgeous and clean and the grounds were just beautiful. I will recommend it to anyone I know traveling to Sedona. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!!
