Casa de San Pedro is an ideal southeastern Arizona retreat for naturalists and anyone who wishes to combine nature with comfortable surroundings. The territorial style hascienda inn is built around a courtyard and fountain. You enter our guest rooms, each with private bath, from the covered patio where you can relax and enjoy the birds which visit the fountain and feeding stations. In the summer, the hummingbirds are especially popular. Our elevation is 4200 feet with an average summer temperature of 88 degrees. Above all it is quiet. The inn is located at the end of the paved road, and is adjacent to the San Pedro River (the last free flowing river in AZ), and the San Pedro National Riparian Conservation Area (SPRNCA) which is BLM land. From the Casa one can directly access the SPRNCA and the River for nature and birding walks. The SPRNCA starts at our north gate and runs along the course of the river for 40 miles. The San Pedro River Valley is bounded on the West (7 miles away) by the Huachuca Mountains (where there are many canyons also famous for birdwatching), and on the East by the Mule Mountains, home of Bisbee AZ which is a charming mountain town with art galleries, great restaurants, and was home to the Queen Mine (Copper). The area is rich with Old West History (Bisbee, Fort Huachuca, and Tombstone are all nearby). Guests enjoy the peace and quiet of the Casa, the opportunity to commune with Nature, tour Old West towns, and enjoy world class birdwatching!

Greeting in parking lot by owners who offered to take luggage to room. Magnificent property and hospitality. Fabulous breakfast. Birds spectacular. Highlight was Friday bird banding on property where each guest got chance to release bird
Thanks for your kind comments. We also enjoy the Hummingbird Banding and learning more and more about all the great birds that reside in the area or migrate through on their ways North (Spring) and South (Fall)! We look forward to you returning when you can!

Beautiful, comfortable rooms, pool setting is super relaxing - the entire place is wonderful. Laundry facilities, communal fridge, hosts are warm, welcoming and eager to help. Graciously supplemented/changed meals to accommodate food allergies. Guided bird hike and hummingbird banding was beyond description. Wish we could have stayed longer - The Einbergers
Thanks! Well you can always come back, and stay longer too! LOL We enjoy having guests like you staying with us!

Casa de San Pedro is the place to go for a relaxing time in an environment that gives back to you the sense of your own time and space. You can read, surf the net, swim/spa and walk the adjacent nature reserve looking at the abundant bird life. The near by town of Bisbee is worth a visit and according to my wife especially the hat shop. There are numerous other walks up canyons and long the river. Going with a birding guide (birder) of which your hosts Patrick and Karl have the details is a good idea; we found Tom Clancy particularly good guide. The breakfasts are amazing thanks to Patricks cooking skills. I have no hesitation is recommending Casa De San Pedro B&B for a time out relaxing holiday. The bird life is amazing not least around the building its self.
Thanks for your review! We have such great fun with our guests as we all enjoy this peaceful setting - and all the many things to do in the area!

My wife and I spent two nights in the off season (for birds) but the feeders were still crowded with doves, quails, roadrunner, etc. We didn't want to go back into Bisbee for dinner so brought our own food to cook and grill. All the utensils and dishes and cookware we needed were available. Patrick and Karl were wonderfully welcoming and expert on the local culture.

This was our first stay here but it won't be our last. The grounds are clean and well tended and very appealing. The pool and patio are surprisingly nice for a B&B. Our room was great - a very comfortable King bed, plenty of space and a nice bathroom complete with festive Mexican tile sink. All the rooms look onto the pretty courtyard and fountain and each room has its own table and two chairs so you can sit outside. The common areas are great and thoughtfully arranged with books, seating and spare binoculars to watch the birds from the huge windows. Each morning there is a lovely full breakfast served in the beautiful dining room. Owners Karl and Patrick were welcoming, considerate and eager to help us have a nice stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and recommend it.

This is a wonderful place to go if you are a birder, but would be just as nice if you aren't a birder and are looking for a relaxing place to stay. The hosts are very nice and the energy at Casa is so relaxing. During our stay we met several people who had returned year after year. When we return to the area we will certainly stay at Casa again.

We were extremely impressed by the attention to detail at this B&B. From delicious food (pies and cookies daily!!) to the kindness and friendliness of our hosts, everything we needed was available. The rooms were spotless and the beds comfortable. The bird feeding stations made for a great place to relax and enjoy the grounds. The hosts answered all of our questions about the area and made excellent suggestions for things to do and restaurants in the area. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!!

Birders paradise, anniversary, get away, girls outing, whatever. Casa is designed for mostly birders but anyone would enjoy staying here for any reason. Patrick and Karl are delightful hosts and will try to accommodate any need. This is our third stay and expect to be back again. Book it, you will not be disappointed.

The most amazing fact is that August in SE Arizona is both green, due to the monsoon season, and very pleasant (60-high 80's). For birders, it's a paradise, and the Casa San Pedro has many species on site. The banding of hummingbirds is exciting to witness. Definitely worth a repeat visit!
