I was so delighted to find the Little House cabin for rent at Capps Cove, near Oneonta. Looking for a respite for myself and some friends I found it in the solitude and natural beauty of this cabin nestled in the hills surrounded by woods, wildflowers, bubbling creeks, and rushing water of the Blackburn River. Every detail was fitting for the Little House, which was named for the wonderful "Little House on the Prairie" Books authored by Laura Ingalls Wilder, complete with the stone fireplace, antique details, and iron bed in the loft. A set of the books was even available for reading. I enjoyed coffee early...as the sun was rising while swinging gently in the porch swing just drinking in the peace and beauty amidst the choir of birds flitting through the branches. From the night's rain, large drops of water hung on the tree branches acting as prisms for the gentle light whispering through the trees highlighting the landscape little by little. The property offered wildflower walks on paths to the river, abundantly placed benches and swings for relaxation. My guests and I enjoyed our time there and look forward to another visit to a place more than just a night's stay, but part of a wonderful memory.

My wife and I love Capps Cove. It is not faraway from where we live but seems like we are in the smokies. Live the "Little house on the prairie" cabin. The grounds are beautiful and I love to build a fire in cold weather. Everything is provided including firewood, lighter and kindling. We plan to go back again and again.

What a peaceful, serene setting! Except for the fact that there is no local eatery for dinner, this was an ideal getaway.

Great place for a quite getaway. Would highly recommend to anyone in search of reconnecting with each other or just to slow down in life. The creek beside the cabin is amazing. Everything about the cabin was awesome

Second stay at Capps Cove - and there will be a third. Such a lovely setting. The Honeymoon Cabin is absolutely splendid. There is not a quieter, more peaceful place to stay in Alabama. Thank you!

Capps Cove was a pleasant surprise. It is close to home (Birmingham), but feels very remote. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be going back!

In town for a wedding (not ours). We stayed in the Honeymoon Cabin by the creek. Beautiful weather, wonderful solitude, and an overall great experience.
The Little House on the Prairie cabin is made of board and batten construction with a bedroom and sitting area downstairs; and with the sleeping loft upstairs, the cabin sleeps a family of four. There is a private bath with tub/shower, and scented soaps and bathrobes. Sit in the rockers and enjoy a game of checkers in front of a warm fire in the stacked stone fireplace. Enjoy your continental breakfast basket; the barbecue grill (charcoal provided); and the small microwave, refrigerator and complimentary popcorn, cheese, crackers, teas, coffee and soft drinks. This cabin sleeps up to four adults.
Nightly Rate: $140 - $190
