Cobb Lane

4.6 on September 06, 2017

Great place. Close to the city Bit strange how you need to ring the owner and she supplies a PIN number to get in But overall very good

Innkeeper Response
HASSINGER DANIELS MANSION BB or COBB LANE BB. We are pleased these guests enjoyed their stay and found the Inn's location convenient. Regarding the front door,we utilize a password entry that changes frequently. This is much more secure that issuing keys to guests who could loose them, cause the entire property to be re-keyed plus possibly allow an intruder to enter. We utilize an industry best practice which this guest may not have seen before, hence their comment. Please come again.

Quaint B & B

4.2 on September 06, 2017

We stayed in Hera's Loft at the Hassinger Daniels mansion. We had an opportunity to see the empty rooms. Each room is very unique. Breakfast was amazing! We do recommend bringing your own bedroom pillows. Although our room was filled with decorative pillows, the actual sleeping pillows were flat.

Innkeeper Response
HASSINGER DANIELS MANSION BB - HERA's LOFT. This is the most private room of both of our Inns since it is on top floor, end of hall, and other guests do not pass by it. It has a modern décor with white leather couch and white platform leather queen size bed in recessed floor area, plus a balcony with table and chairs where you can sit out and enjoy the sunset while sipping wine. Regarding bed pillows, we have some of every type and can bring them to a room if requested. Earlier guests have liked the pillows. We encourage this guest to please come again, let us know right away if they have a different preference and we will be happy to accommodate them. Our goal is for our guests to be comfortable and enjoy their stay. Thank you for coming.

Charming Historic House in Birmingham

4.6 on September 06, 2017

Sheila was such a gracious host, and the house is beautiful. It looks like it's out of a museum. Only small complaint was that the room was too hot, but Sheila came in and brought fans and made sure the vents were circulating properly, and the room did cool down. Would recommend staying here if you are visiting Birmingham!

Innkeeper Response
HASSINGER DANIELS MANSION BB -- We appreciated these guests very much patronizing our historic mansion, giving it new life in the 21st century. We have a new HVAC system. Issue is some vents are low enough to floor that guest can open and shut them. Turned out guest prior to their arrival had shut some causing the room to feel warm to the new guests which we adjusted. Sorry that occurred but quickly remedied. Please come again!

Love Cobb Lane B&B!

5 on September 03, 2017

My oldest daughter and I stayed at the Hassinger Daniels Mansion in the Elegant Turret room with my granddaughter and boy did she feel like a true princess! All she could talk about was the castle! It was a truly memorable moment for her and I am so thankful for that. Breakfast was wonderful and an enjoyable dining experience for a nearly theee year old little girl. She thought she was Belle! He following week my younger daughter stayed in the Zevra room and had just as pleasant an experience. This room is located at the Cobb Lane location. The staff and owner treated like family which made me feel so much better being so far from home. We will definitely stay here from now on every visit to Birmingham.

Innkeeper Response
COBB LANE BB - ZEBRA ROOM. also HASSINGER DANIELS MANSION BB - ENCHANTING TURRET SUITE. We loved your characterization that Turret Suite is like the Castle in Beauty and the Beast to your granddaughter. That is a magical comparison and most appreciated. It likely will be the only time in one's life that you'll sleep inside the top of an architectural turret! Also pleased that your family enjoyed Zebra Room, 2 blocks away at our Cobb Lane BB. Please come again, try different rooms. Each is individually decorated and has special features. Thank you!

I always stay here on Birmingham trips.

4.6 on August 30, 2017

This magnificent Southside mansion was thankfully saved from the wrecking ball and is now a beautifully restored bed and breakfast, with a little "extra:" the basement is home to the owner's carousel animal carving school! Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. I love the Southside location. The renowned restaurant Highlands Bar and Grill is located right across a parking lot. The breakfasts are mediocre, but who cares when you're staying in "The Peacock Room," so called because there is an enormous taxidermists peacock standing over your bed with tail unfurled!

Innkeeper Response
HASSINGER DANIELS MANSION BB -- PEACOCK ROOM. Peacock Room is often the choice of adventurous guests who enjoy unusual décor. We are glad these guests found us and their room! Please come again and try other themed rooms, each one is different. Thank you.

A true bed and breakfast

5 on August 27, 2017

My sweetheart and I had a lovely stay at Cobb Lane Bed and Breakfast. Our room was charming and clean as could be. Our hostess was very welcoming, and the breakfast was huge and delicious. I highly recommend it!

Innkeeper Response
COBB LANE BB. A review doesn't get any better than all 5's! We really appreciate your praise and support in coming to help keep alive a National Historic Registered Mansion from an era Bygone. Built by the tax collector in 1898, it is more famous for its 2nd Owner Felix Tarrant, a dentist who invented steel pipe useful for water, sewer, electrical and many building purposes world-wide. Thank you for your kind comments. Please come again often.

Gorgeous room, great food

4.2 on August 22, 2017

We enjoyed the accommodations, food, and breakfast conversation with our fellow B&B folk. The area is quite accessible on foot and has great dining options within a short walk. I'd definitely consider staying at Cobb Lane B&B again.

Innkeeper Response
COBB LANE BB - We're glad you enjoyed the BB setting which encourages meeting and conversing with other traveling guests. Our historic district is also the City's Culinary District boasting 41 restaurants and evening entertainment venues. The most famous restaurants are a short walk away: Highland Bar and Grill, Chez Fon Fon, Bottega Café and Restaurant, Ocean's, and Hot N Hot Fish Club. Please come often and try all of them! Thank you for coming.

Nice place to stay

3.6 on August 07, 2017

We enjoyed staying at this quaint B & B. The decor was nostalgic and very well done. The only thing I would caution about is a weekend stay, when the nearby bar (with a band) stays open until 2 am playing music.

Innkeeper Response
COBB LANE BB -- ZEBRA ROOM. Blue Monkey martini bar inside Cobb Lane had an unauthorized entertainment recently which likely is the subject of this review. We notified the police. We apologize that their behavior affected you. Please give us another chance and come again. Thank you for being our guest.

Cobb Lane Review

4.8 on August 07, 2017

Very comfortable accomadations in heart of Birmingham. Sheila was a very gracious host.

Innkeeper Response
COBB LANE BB. This is a wonderful rating and review, right to the point and good marks compared to other lodging choices this guest has experienced. We really appreciate their patronage of a National Historic Registered property now a BB which allows it to be maintained as one of the Nation's key sites in our history. It was the home of the Inventor of Steel Pipe, Mr. Felix Tarrant, who owned it from 1908 to 1945, though built by the tax collector of 1898. THANK YOU! Sheila
