Welcome to the Apas House in Portland, Oregon. This is one of the first houses in the neighborhood. Built in 1908.Our porch swing is southwest facing and perfect for swinging in the afternoon and early evening sunshine.
Our entry way. Welcome. Our backyard deck has a soft outdoor sofa, an outdoor dining area, hammock, and fire pit.
We have a huge side yard with very lush grass. The organic garden has peas, carrots, pumpkins, peppers, blueberries, strawberries, and more. We love to encourage our guests to help themselves while they play or lounge in the side yard.We have a large dining and kitchen area since the kitchen is always the best place to socialize and snack.
The kitchen. Where the magic happens for our organic, earth friendly, body friendly breakfasts. The living room, complete with card and game tables, a library and multiple reading and relaxing spaces.
Nothing says "cozy" like a soft spot next to the fire. The Sun Room with a new king size bed!
Attached to the Sun Room is this large, private master bath.Local art hangs around the house, as seen here in the Sage Room at Apas House Bed and Breakfast.
The Sage Room is our most popular room. It has a full size bed and extra long suede sofa. This room has the most storage space; a huge closet complete with built-in draws and an extra wardrobe. The Water Room at Apas House. Twin beds are perfect for traveling friends. These beds are completely covered in organic sheets, duvets, and even organic down pillows. We strive to be as earth conscious as possible.
The upstairs bathroom. Claw foot tub for those who love to soak.
All Apas House meats and eggs are from Flying Fish Sustainable Market on SE Hawthorne. Bacon wrapped dates with a small sprig of rosemary from the yard.Crock-pot french toast with blood oranges. Gluten Free bagette from New Cascadia GF Bakery in Portland, Oregon. Sweetened only with maple syrup, fresh eggs from local farmers, and topped with homemade Ghee.
This recipe the owner has been making since she was 8 years old. Baked apple custard. One of the most requested recipes, Sweet Squash and Pumpkin Pancakes.
