Wonderful little place to stay

This was our first time in Apalachicola and the Coombs Inn. Our stay was very pleasant and relaxable. The Inn provided a breakfast meal each morning which was excellently prepared and great taste. Coffee was greatest ever for an Inn. The staff was wonderful. We really enjoyed visiting them.

We stayed in the "Heavenly 11" suite, which is located in a home a block from the original Coombs House. The king poster bed was a beautifully carved work of art. The room was fairly large with a fainting couch and chair to sit on. The large bathroom had a nice Jacuzzi, shower with good water pressure, 2 sinks, bidet and a beautiful old vanity. We also had a mini fridge. The staff were all delightful and top notch! We especially enjoyed Crystal's wine and cheese hour stories.

This is a bed & breakfast. One of the things about a bed & breakfast is the food! They need help! The fruit served was not ripe, and there are so many diff. kinds of fruit to choose fr. there is NO reason it was not ripe. We were served a quiche that obviously was not made there. Kind of sad! Even the coffee was poor. The coffee in our room tasted better and it was from a hotel supply service! Since it is a period house the furniture was fabulous. The bathroom had been updated, which was nice. We had a shower, but there were NO safety bars to help you get in and out of a slippery shower. Very dangerous! Also no place to put your toothbrush, tooth paste etc. except on top of the toilet!

The Coombs Inn is a phenomenal B&B and I would recommend it to anyone. My fiancé and I had never been to Apalchicola before but I am so glad we chose to stay there. Our room was more than we could have asked for. The breakfast every morning was delicious. The location is near all of the happening spots and near the great shops!
