  • 2-3 bottles Port-wine (Tawny or 'not too sweet' -Ruby)
  • kilo dried figs
  • Vanilla ice
  • Mint leaves
  • Whipped cream

  1. Cut off the hard edges of the dried figs and boil them in water just shortly (60-90 seconds). When ready lay them out on a clean towel to dry and cool down a little.
  2. Put the pre-boild figs layer-by layer in a large jar and cover them with your Port-wine. Close the lid and let them rest for 3 months.
  3. For every next party you'll have the best dessert ever easily available. Put some Vanilla -Ice on every plate. Add 3-5 Figs per person+ some of the (now) port-wine sauce. And complete it with some mint leaves.
  4. The supply of Figs in Port-wine will stay good over a year!!
