  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter (not margarine)
  • 1/2 cup honey

  1. Slice French bread diagonally into six (6) 1" thick slices. Day old bread is better than fresh.
  2. Place butter, honey, and brown sugar in small saucepan. Heat at low temperature on stove until butter is melted and honey and brown sugar are well blended.
  3. Pour brown sugar mixture into greased 9x13 inch pan. Place bread slices on top of mix.
  4. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until well blended. Pour over bread slices so that each slice is soaked with mixture. Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate over night.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered for about 30 minutes or until bread feels a little crusty to touch. Serve with a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
