Blueberry Cream Cheese French Toast

  • 1 Loaf French Bread or Sour Dough Bread
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Organic or locally grown Blueberries (Frozen or Fresh)
  • 1 dozen Organic Free-Range Eggs
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Pure Maple Syrup (preferably locally tapped)
  • 1 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Rind


  1. Slice French bread lengthwise to create slices. Spread with cream cheese on each side. Cube.
  2. Place cubes in 8 x 10’ dish (greased). Sprinkle blueberries over bread cubes mixing in slightly. Sprinkle grated lemon rind over blueberries.
  3. Mix eggs, milk and maple syrup. Pour over bread and blueberries.
  4. Bake covered for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake another 12 – 15 minutes.
  5. Let sit approx 10 minutes covered before serving.
