A Teton Tree House

  • Inn Details

This western lodge was built on an isolated hillside among the trees by the owner/innkeeper, Denny Becker, to offer a respite from the adventures and shopping available in the nearby parks of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and the tourist town of Jackson. After a gentle 95 stair "walk through the woods" guests arrive into a cool, clean and comfortable "home away from home." Delicious "healthy heart" breakfasts are served family style each morning so that Sally can share her most recently baked breads while Denny serves up his rotation of hot porridges and regales you with stories of Jackson Hole as he has known it for the past 46 years. Their original fresh fruit dishes and juice combinations will surprise and delight you! And best of all...before you leave for your day of adventure, wildlife viewing and/or gallery and shop perusing, Denny will steer you to the best match for you -- be it hikes, watersports, wildlife routes, art or shopping.

    • Directions to property:
Guests are invited to consider all three nearby airports: Jackson (JAC), 20 minutes away; Idaho Falls (IDA) 90 minutes away; and Salt Lake City (SLC), 5 hours away. Each has a beautiful drive to our Inn. Taking Hwy 22 our of Jackson please pass through two lights and enter the town of Wilson. Don't blink! It's only two blocks long. Don't start up the pass toward Idaho! Turn left at the EXXON onto Fall Creek Road, then take the first right onto Heck of a Hill Rd. and our home is the third driveway on your right, clearly marked with a "Becker's Teton Tree House" sign. Coming down the pass from Idaho, make an immediate right before the EXXON when you enter Wilson and proceed as above.

    Airport

    • Jackson Hole, WY (JAC)

    • Directions to property:
Guests may choose to take either the scenic Moose-Wilson Road to the Tree House or pass through the town of Jackson. To avoid the town, turn left as you exit the airport and then turn left again in 2 miles at MOOSE Junction. As you pass the road for MOOSE on your right you may wish to consider if you are hungry. Dornan's Pizza and Pasta restaurant is terrific -- both in food and scenery! Continuing on past the Visitor's Center on your left, turn left again onto the Moose-Wilson road. Be sure to look for wildlife as you come through this section of the Grand Teton National Park and past Teton Village on your right to the Hwy 22 Junction where you turn right and come into Wilson. Turning left at the EXXON, follow the directions above 2/4 mile to the Tree House. To tour Jackson, turn right as you exit the airport and proceed to the center of town. With the Town Square on your left turn right at the major intersection and continue on Broadway/Hwy. 89 until you reach the Hwy. 22, Wilson/Teton Village/Idaho junction where you curve right and follow the directions above into Wilson.

I highly recommend this B&B. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Here are the only downsides: (A) there is a 95-step staircase from the parking lot to the building; (B) you can't walk to town for dinner, since it is too far; (C) the breakfasts are "heart healthy", which means no eggs or meat. On the upside, the hosts, Denny and Sally, are warm and welcoming, and experts on the area, including hikes and wildlife. I'd be happy to stay there again.

My family stayed with Denny & Sally for 4 nights. My children, 13 & 10, loved it and didn't want to leave! Denny is a wealth of knowledge and a virtual encyclopedia of the Jackson Hole/Yellowstone area. Sally is a terrific host that makes you feel welcome all the time and provides you with everything you need. The place is extremely clean. The breakfasts are great. It is located very close to Teton Village and Jackson. My family and I HIGHLY recommend staying here while visiting the Grand Teton park and Yellowstone.

This is our second visit to the Teton Tree House. The experience just keeps getting better. The rooms are clean, spacious and furnished extremely well. Breakfasts are healthy alternatives to typical meat, eggs and potatoes. Everything is fresh, wholesome and delicious. The hosts are incredibly knowledgeable about the area and are eager to help in every way possible to ensure a memorable trip to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. We waited 11 years before returning (we spent our honeymoon in the Treehouse) but it will not be that long before we return again. I forgot to mention the spectacular views from the balconies, especially at sunrise. Its hard for us to imagine staying anywhere else when in the Jackson/Wilson area. - Wayne and Sincere Stone
