It was very nice, quiet and comfortable. We visited House on the Rock with two other couples. We all enjoyed the visit. Played cards and enjoyed wine and good company.

We have always been reluctant to stay at a bed and breakfast, but after this wonderful experience, we want to try more! Everything was perfect; the beautiful countryside, the hosts, our room, cleanliness, & breakfast.

Our side porch is where you may enjoy a sunny morning breakfast, the picnic you brought, the dinner we prepared or be mezmorized by the multitude of hummingbirds we feed. One year we counted 37 hummingbirds!
The deck is a place to rest, relax, read or gather with friends. A popular spot for wedding ceremonies, wedding dances, and outdoor buffet receptions. Room #1, The Stieglits/Steichen, is our largest room with foyer entrance, sitting area, antique writing desk, and whirlpool tub. It may accomodate four with the comfortable pull out sleeper sofa.
Room #5,The Brady, with twin beds is perfect for those more comfortable with having their own private bed. It was named in honor of Mathew B. Brady and all other Civil War Photographers.
Our special pastry and cakes make every occasion uniquly memorable. Our chocolate fudge cake, pictured here, is as as good as it gets.
Our side porch breakfast is the perfect start of any day. After 13 years the inn has naturally darkened to a rich patina. Located in an isolated country setting, guests may hike and explore the properties bucolic surroundings.
Room #6, The FSA, is named in honor of Roy Stryker and the Farm Security Administration
photographers and is a bright and sunny room facing the front gardens.
