Probably the most enjoyable stay we have had at a B&B ever. The hosts were very personable, they knew just when to see if we needed anything and when to stay away, the inn itself is amazing and the breakfast was just great. One of the most relaxing times my wife and I have had while away from home. The B&B was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The owners didn't miss a thing when it came to accommodations. I felt like I was staying in a very fine hotel. The food was amazing. It was all made from scratch and delicious while healthy. I would absolutely go back here and have recommended it to friends.

My fiance and I stayed at the Port Washington Inn for 4 lovely nights. This charming inn was clean, cozy and beautiful. Each morning we woke to fresh coffee and a wonderful breakfast of eggs, breakfast meats, home made yogurt and more. Each day we had a baked treat waiting for us in our room. My wife and I just spent three wonderful nights at the Port Washington Inn. We highly recommend you stay here if you are seeking accomadations anywhere in the area. They culture their own yogurt, grind their own wheat for homemade bread and present to you a breakfast you won't soon forget. We just came back from a two night stay at this lovely inn. It was so peaceful, the food was so delicious and the inn keepers so nice to visit with that I just booked a return visit for three nights in the fall. There is so much to see and do in the area and this is just the place to stay while you are there! If you are lucky enough to try the award winning bread pudding or their delicious light and fluffy omelets you will find your self looking forward to the next day's breakfast with relish! We caught a quiet Saturday night at the Inn. It was very cute, and in proximity to the rest of the town. The room in which we stayed was a little small, but very comfortable. The Inn is elegantly decorated and exudes charm. The breakfast was wonderful and brought a nice end to our stay.

The Port Washington Inn is ideally situated close to Lake Michigan, with a view of the lake from the front yard! It is an easy walk to sand beaches and the local marina, as well as the 30+ mile paved Ozaukee Interurban Trail. The owners live on-site, and provide friendly, knowledgeable advice regarding restaurants and places to visit near-by. The breakfasts feature home-baked breads and fresh fruit. The beds were wonderful, and the rooms furnished in beautiful antiques and matching reproductions. We felt coddled in this inn!

We came from Chicago for a long weekend/mini-honeymoon, and the Port Washington Inn was perfect. Rita and Dave were so friendly and wonderful, and the food was delicious. And Port Washington is a great place to spend a few days. It was a relaxing, wonderful weekend.

This is a fabulous B & B. The breakfasts' are superb and the inn is in a wonderful location. It's only a short walk to the lakefront. If you are ever in this area, this is the place to stay.

We so enjoyed our stay. Our night of luxury included walking downtown to dinner and out on the pier. Our bedroom was delightfully decorated with antiques (even including a pocket watch and beautiful mirror and brush set) and our bathroom was delightfully modern and clean. Breakfast was delicious...with quiche served but with a buffet for the rest of the goodies so you could pick and choose from fruits and pastries. I would recommend this to everyone that loves B&B's.

We stayed in Claire's Suite over the Memorial Day Weekend. The entire house was decorated impeccably, Victorian without being oppressive. Our suite was comfortable and included a sitting room and balcony with a lake view. The separate sitting room was perfect for reading/TV watching without disturbing your partner. The breakfasts were delicious and nutritious--lots of homegrown, homemade goodies. We had quiet, peaceful nights and privacy.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the PWI recently and were blown away by the cleanliness of the whole Inn and the unyielding hospitality of Rita and Dave. It was so great to chat with them over the amazing food Rita prepared for us each morning. We did little more than sleep in and read- which is just what we wanted! We will definitely be heading back to the PWI very soon!

Our stay in the top if the world suite was perfect. Rita was a perfect hostess, balancing meeting our needs and allowing privacy. The food was amazing, creative, local and just perfect!

We really enjoyed our getaway. We planned at the last minute and were very happy with all aspects of our visit!

This is our second visit to the Port Washington Inn and it will not be our last. The Innkeepers have done everything to make their home welcoming and comfortable. Their breakfast is wonderful, the Port Washingtin area charming. We recommend the Port Washington Inn to all of our friends.

We loved our weekend getaway to the Port Washington Inn. The view of Lake Michigan from our window was great. I especially loved the brownies waiting for us in our room when we checked in as well as the refreshment area on the second floor where I could enjoy an afternoon cup of coffee. The Innkeepers were a very sweet couple. We really appreciated their desire to care for their property in an eco friendly manner. So many of the items available for breakfast were locally grown, purchased from the farmers market or local shops. Many of the items were also home produced including their granola, yogurt, bread and jams. It was all delicious. We will definitely stay here again when in Port Washington.

Have stayed here for years and had another exceptional stay. Total experience very enjoyable. Innkeepers always go the extra mile to ensure everything is just right during our stay.

We were in the area for the PGA Championship at Kohler. We were delighted with our stay at the Inn. Rita and Dave so are friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts were wonderful. We looked forward to the homemade snacks every afternoon. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had every convenience and immenity and felt right at home.

Wonderful place for a weekend or mid-week getaway. Rooms were very nicely furnished and decor was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. Rita and Dave were very gracious hosts. My only complaint was that the room was a bit warm in the summer heat.

Beautiful home, rich in wood and history. Wonderful turn of the century (1900) feeling. Home baked goods for breakfest which was a nice time to meet other guests.

Port Washington is an easy drive from Chicago...My hustand and I found this beautiful B&B in 2005 (spent a week/Top of the World)! We returned in 2008 (three nights/Grace's Suite) and finally made our way back in 2010 (three nights/Grace's Suite). Dave & Rita Nelson are gracious innkeeper. The rooms are well-appointed with all the "extra-touches" to make one feel comfortable and care-free (convenient refreshment area for morning coffee before breakfast ot enjoying a cup of tea/cocoa in the evening). Breakfast is always elegant and tastefully delicious. Grace's Suite has a lovely balcony (great view of the lake)...which we enjoy immensely. The town is lovely and the inn is conveniently situated, so you can walk into town (to dine or shop), stroll along the beach, bike or walk an easily accessible trail.

We were in town to visit relatives and had a lovely experience at the Inn. In fact, we wished we could have spent more time there! It is beautiful. In a great location -- we had nice walks through cute neighborhoods and it's an easy and fast walk to Lake Michigan. Felt very welcoming and relaxing. Lots of inside and outside space to lounge in. The owners are friendly, informative, but not intrusive. Food is amazing! Rooms are lovely with good light for reading (often an issue in B&B's) and baths are spacious.

We were in the area to visit with our son, who lives in the Milwaukee area. We enjoyed staying at the Inn very much, it was very comfortable in every way.

Dave and Rita are great. The breakfasts are truly over the top. We stayed in Helen's room and it was nice but probably would opt for Noelle's next time. If the suites are available they look very roomy. It's close to everything and we walked everywhere.

The personal care and service was outstanding, breakfast was lovely and afternoon homemade snacks put the icing on the cake.

My girlfriend and I try to get away each year in the springtime for a couple of days. We chose Port Washington Inn due to its proximity to the Chicago area. It was lovely - ! We had a great time, were pampered by inn owners Rita and Dave Nelson and would definitely go back. Lake Michigan is at its most beautiful in Port Washington, or as the locals say, 'Port.'

I stayed in Dorothy's Room which offered a view of Lake Michigan. The rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable. This 100 year-old home has been renovated with a keen eye toward preserving its charm while offering up-to-date amenities. The entire inn is spotlessly clean. Look on the website for specials to make your stay more affordable.
