The Acanthus Inn Bed & Breakfast
The Acanthus Inn B&B is a ten bedroom Queen Anne Mansion located just 5 minutes from downtown and less than ten minutes from Milwaukee's lakefront and Mayer Festival Park. Our urban neighborhood boasts over 200 historic homes built between the 1850's and 1915. Each room in the Inn is decorated with exquisite art work to compliment the historic context of the home and the decor of the room itself. In addition, many of the original lighting fixtures survive in place. All of the other light fixtures in the mansion are period or earlier and exemplify the height of this victorian art form. The mansion's original woodwork has never been painted and the original finishes survive on wainscotting, two mantles, molding and the six sets of pocket doors on the first floor alone.

Once in Milwaukee take the first right had exit after the stadium, the "35th Street exit" and head North (left) on 35th St. to Highland Blvd (about 8 stop lights) then head East (right) on Highland to 3009 W. Walter is an accomplished French and Italian Chef with more than 25 years of cooking expeience. Whether you choose Omeletes to Order, Eggs Bennidict, Swedish Pancakes, Walter's Signature Vanilla French Toast or any variation on
breakfast, you can be assured it will be to your liking. All breakfasts include fresh fruit, pastry, juices, coffee and teas. Vegitarians, Vegans and those with special restricted diets are welcome and accomodated as requested.
Policies
- Minimum stay required (Peak season weekends and special event weeks minimum stay required.)
- Smoking is allowed in limited areas (Enclosed front porch is available to smokers year round.)
- We cannot accommodate guest pets
- Limitations on children staying (At Innkeeper's discretion prior to confirmation.)
- No childcare is provided
- Consumption of alcohol is permitted (Complimentary sodas, ... other services upon request.)
- Deposit amount required (A 50% deposit (or full first night deposit for a one night stay) confirms a reservation on all nights of a stay.)
- Check in time is 2:00PM-10:00PM and Check out time is 11:00 AM
- Cancellations:
Our standard cancellation policy is twenty days before arrival date. Reservations for special event weekends and weekdays (i.e. All Summer Festivals, Harley (H.O.G.) Rally's, Valentine's Day, UW and Marquette Graduation weekends and other major convention weeks, etc...) may differ as described in advance. If you cancel a reservation after these points, unless your room(s) is (are) re-booked you would be obligated to pay for the full amount of your stay. Of course we always try and do our best to re-book any rooms that are cancelled at the last minute. There is a $20.00 fee for cancellations that have refunds made. - Accepted by the following agencies:
