Walking Iron Bed and Breakfast is a historic 1865 brick Victorian Italianate home located at 21 State Street in Mazomanie, WI. Nestled among the scenic bluffs and rolling farmland of beautiful southwestern Wisconsin, and just 25 minutes from the state capital city of Madison, Walking Iron Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located to many area attractions. Spring Green, American Player's Theater, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin, the House on the Rock, and the Wisconsin River, are just a few of the unique places to visit. Boasting five elegantly appointed guest rooms with period antiques, iron beds, private baths and whirlpools, and restored formal parlor, library and dining room, Walking Iron Bed and Breakfast blends luxury with history! As your hosts, David and Karisa Friske are committed to making your stay one that you won't soon forget!

Quiet and lovely location. Dave and Carisa are perfect hosts, attentive and available but provide you your personal space. The home is very quaint. Mazomanie has a very interesting history. Although the activities right in Mazo are limited, try to get dinner on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night at the Wall Street restaurant. Also, the history museum (open only Sunday afternoon) and the history walk are worth it. Highly recommend a visit

This is the second time we visited this B&B and it has set a high standard for what a bed and breakfast should entail. The hosts are lovely, willing to chat but not overbearing. The breakfast was timely and delicious. The rooms are unique and charming. My only regret is that we have been there too early to catch the gardens in full bloom. Mazomanie, itself, is a little gem of a town in a great location. It is an easy drive to Madison and Devil's Lake/Baraboo. We haven't explored many of the other surrounding areas, but I will say that the Wollerscheim winery is a 100% must-visit. Overall, this is a spectacular B&B that we are already planning to visit again next year.
Thank you for choosing us to stay with again! Looking forward to next year, maybe the flowers will be in bloom on time!

Walking Iron was charming. Beautifully decorated and clean with modern amenities. Karissa, the owner, was friendly and inviting and makes a delicious home-cooked breakfast.

Just a short ride from Madison and Spring Green and it feels home. Karis presents a beautiful brakfast and relaxed conversation. Relaxing, settling next to a trout stream!
