Honeybee Inn Bed & Breakfast

Our stay at the Honey B&B was very relaxing and enjoyable. The hosts were so accomodating and welcoming. We went there to rest, and that is exactly what we found. The stay was peaceful, the food excellent and the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies with the fresh brewed coffee and tea just added to the wonderful stay. I would highly recommend!!!

Had an excellent overnight stay. It was a surprise for my husband to get away a little from the business of life. Arrived to gourmet chocolates and was able to relax by crackling fire, couldn't of asked for more. Also there is a new/old movie library so you can watch movies in your room, along with complimentary popcorn and tea/coffee/hot chocolate maker right out side your room. Last but not least Barb and her husband are very kind and make sure your stay is the best that it can be, not to mention ending your stay with an amazing homemade breakfast. Will definitely be back for future visits.

We keep coming back to this inn for quiet relaxation. The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean, with many amenities that make for a special & romantic stay. The breakfasts are amazing & the hostess is very gracious.

Since this was our first time at a bed and breakfast, we didn't really know what to expect. What a wonderful surprise! It was a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately relaxed us. The first thing that I noticed was the delightful fragrance in the air. It was fall and it smelled just like warm spices. Every detail was to our liking. The room was furnished in a manner that my husband and I could both enjoy. The breakfast was delicious and very satisfying. What a wonderful memory this was for us!

I am gluten free as well as having other issues. Barbara accommodated my needs, as well as having fantastic breakfasts The Inn is clean, beautiful and well equipped. The Ruka's are GREAT HOSTS!

The Honeybee B&B is outstanding: great-tasting and beautifully presented breakfast; gorgeous and impeccably clean rooms; terrific location; beautiful house; and our hosts, Barb and Fred, could not be more helpful or attentive. We will return!

We arrived from out of state to a warm welcome. The Inn is charming and cozy. The owners were informative regarding the Inn and the local doings around town. The guest rooms are wonderful, clean, up to date with comfy beds, wonderful bathrooms, flat screen TV's, internet access, and tasty chocolates bedside. The owners provide a homemade breakfast that is stick to your ribs delicious. A great way to start the day. We highly recommend this wonderful charming Bed and Breakfast.

Our stay at the Honeybee Inn was so filled with joy, passion, love, contentment and Peace. Barb is wonderful and has a passion to make things just right and very special for each guest. Breakfast was made love and care and was one the best I've ever eaten. The Inn with it's woodwork and stained glass is beautiful. Happy memories to last a lifetime. We will be back. Thank you!

We stayed here for easy access to Horicon Marsh, and very much enjoyed it. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and our innkeeper hostess was lovely and so thoughtful. It's clear that a tremendous amount of thought and care has gone into this inn, and it's perfect for a sweet romantic getaway. We also really enjoyed our kayaking package -- Barb booked a tandem kayak for us at the canoe/kayak place 4 blocks away, and packed us a delicious picnic lunch. We saw so many birds, and innumerable jumping fish. Quite exciting and at the same time ever so restful! This was a lovely place to spend the day before our 33rd wedding anniversary, and we would come here again.

Great place to be a bit pampered for a quiet get-away near home.

My wife and I go to the Honeybee at least once a year, usually for our anniversary. It is top notch in every aspect, the room is clean, warm, and cozy. The home is authentically restored with gorgeous sitting rooms and a welcoming atmosphere all around. The breakfasts are homemade creations, delicious and abundant, a highlight of the stay. There is a self-serve coffee machine available day and night. A fresh cup of coffee, quick and personal, is a wonderful amenity. Our annual stay at the Honeybee is something we look forward to all year round.

Barb was very friendly and helpful host. Breakfasts were outstanding- delicious but heavy on calories. But who's counting when you're on vacation? Gorgeous house inside and comfortable and cozy room. Lots of extras--videos, special coffees, welcome chocolates. Very close to marsh for kayaking and close to homemade ice cream shop.

If you are in the Horicon area you don't want to miss staying at the Honeybee Inn. Everyone was friendly, the accomadations were wonderful and the food was out of this world. One of the best B&B's we have ever stayed at!!

My fiance and I stayed at the Honeybee last weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The absolute best part of our stay was the AMAZING breakfast we had. The three courses consisted of a yogurt parfait with fresh, local strawberries, a deliciously warm apple fritter and finally homemade biscuits with sausage gravy and a side of Newski's bacon. HEAVEN! They were doing some repairs on the outside of the house, so there was scaffolding in the yard with some equipment, but it was nice to see they were doing some improvements, because it's a very old house and needs a little facelift. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. I would definitely visit again.

My fiancee arranged for a very special evening for us at the Inn. Barbara, the inn-keeper made sure we had a lot of romance with a dozen red roses, chocolate covered strawberries, chilled wine and rose petals on the bed. Do NOT pass up breakfast!

The Honeybee Inn is an excellent Bed & Breakfast. Every detail is attended to and my stay was extremely comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. There is a lot to do in the Horicon area. I have stayed there 3 times and will definitely go back. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

This was me and husbands 2nd stay at the Honeybee Inn and it was as wonderful as the 1st, we were so pleased with the hospitality very relaxing and extremely comfortable...perfect get away!!!! The breakfast was amazing and we cant wait to go back its gonna be a yearly trip for us!

Honeybee is a treasure discovered while planning a last minute winter getaway to the Horicon Marsh Candlelight Hike event. Everything about the Honeybee experience was outstanding. The hospitality was superior, the house and room extremely clean, totally comfortable and well-appointed, the private bath facilities are modern and high class, the breakfast was well-planned and perfectly executed. Feel very fortunate to have found a Honeybee vacancy on short notice; highly recommend this B&B and suggest booking well in advance so as to not miss the experience.

The Honeybee Inn was the perfect place to stay when I was visiting friends in Horicon and was looking to get away from work for awhile. The room was sunny, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was covered with a feather bed topper and fluffy pillows that almost convinced me to never leave. The availability of fresh hot beverages right outside my room was an extra treat. Finally, the breakfast of baked apples, local sausages and Belgian waffles was absolute perfection. I also took advantage of their sunny reading room with classic comfortable couches and quiet, warm ambiance. I am so pleased to have found such a wonderful oasis of luxury to stay for my visits to Horicon.

Honeybee Inn was our first experience at any B&B and we aren't sure we should go anywhere else now because Barb and Fred are going to be hard to beat!! The Inn was decorated so beautifully for the Christmas season, we highly recommend everyone to go visit during the Christmas season to experience true beauty!! Breakfast was simply AMAZING! We look forward to returning!!

My husband I really enjoyed our stay at your inn. We especially enjoyed the fireplace in our room. The breakfasts were outstanding. This was the perfect place to unwind after canoeing and hiking in the marsh.

A very warm and inviting place to stay. Barb was very helpful with places to visit and to eat at as well as directions. She is a wonderful cook and her breakfast was so enjoyable. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy and I loved the old skeleton key locks to our rooms.

That is all that needs to be said. Our stay was short-one night- but wonderful. We discovered beautiful Horicon Marsh and had a glorious walk after we had checked out. But the Breakfast was a true delight. Thanks. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. It was beautiful! We only stayed the night and had to leave before breakfast but we still enjoyed our night there. It was very clean and they made us feel so welcome.

We stayed the second time at the Honeybee Inn for our anniversary and it was again a fabulous stay. The Innkeeper is friendly and has tons of information about the area and great advices on restaurants for a nice dinner. We definitely will be back!

I have stayed in many bed and breakfast establishments and the Honeybee is on the top. We loved our getaway because of the extras provided.

The love and care that went into restoring this beautiful home is obvious. Owners Barb and Fred have taken care of every detail to ensure that their guests are comfortable. it was a wonderful getaway in every respect and we plan to escape here more often!!

We were looking for a beautiful place to spend some time outdoors, relax, and create some romance. We accomplished everything we hoped for and more! The room was magnificent, the breakfasts were out of this world, and the Marsh was breathtaking. We had a truly wonderful weekend. Barb was the perfect hostess. Gave us our privacy yet was so very happy to help with anything we needed. When we travel we absolutely love to stay at Bed and Breakfasts. The Honeybee Inn was without question one of our absolute favorites!

Selecting the Honeybee from the website was such an easy thing to do...afterall, the appointments were absolutely lovely. But to see and experience it in person was off the charts. Barb and Fred have truly put a wonderful home out there for us to share and it was perfect...the bedroom, the fireplace, the dining, the gorgeous woodwork, the large bubbling hot bath, all the while it was below 0 outside!! WONDERFUL.

We celebrated a birthday and received 12 long stem roses, had a beautiful fireplace and hot tub. It was cozy and had a nice 4 poster bed. The hosts were very nice and accomodating, taking money off when there was a mix up. Will definitely return.

Our favorite romantic getaway. Awesome building. We've enjoyed sumptuous, three course breakfasts. We read books and have wine while relaxing in the livingroom by the roaring fireplace. Out room had a whirlpool tub for two. Modern private bathroom is quite nice, luxury linens, hair dryers, spa robes, TV/VCR/CD players, high speed internet, drinks and snacks are always around. Sweet and current DVD collection for free viewing. This place is A MUST. A+++

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and enjoyed all of the Honeybee Inn's ammenities and service. The breakfast was wonderfully seasonal and filling. The inkeepers were pleasant and kind. All around great place. The surrounding area is so charming and has beautiful nature trails for the marsh, even in early November! I would love to see it in the peak of fall; it has to be gorgeous around that area! I offer a recommendation without any hesitation.

My husband and I were treated to a discounted stay due to a reservation error. The situation was handled with such generosity and grace. We were so blessed with our accomodations! The weekend was cold, wet, and rainy, but our room we ended up staying in was bright, yellow, sunny, and cheerful! Even though we weren't able to visit the marsh, we were able to enjoy the coziness of our room and the amenities the B & B had to offer. The breakfasts were scrumptious and filling! Loved the Flavia machine! Thank you for a delightful stay!

The place was picture perfect, our hostess was wonderful the food great. We had the house to ourselves practically no other guests. Our room was so cozy, the house had such a peacefulness to it. We would go back in a heartbeat our only regret was we only booked one night! Loved all the little touches and Barb the owner was exceptional, never met her hubby but with her having such great taste in everything else I can only believe he to is wonderful!

This is the third time we've stayed at Honeybee Inn. At all of the other bed and breakfasts we've stayed at, there has always been something that could be just a little bit better. Barbara and Fred have thought of everything at Honeybee Inn. The beds are excellent; the rooms are spotless; and the towels and showers are outstanding! Barbara's breakfasts are creative and delicious, without being too "weird" for people who aren't adventurous eaters. Staying at Honeybee Inn is simply an outstanding experience.

We could not get over how wonderful the breakfasts were! We ate every bit and it was wonderful....kept us filled until dinner!

My husband and I never stayed at a B&B before. We spent 3 nights at the Honeybee Inn and wish it could have been more. The interior of the inn is beautiful. We took many pictures of the interior and exterior of the home. Barb, the innkeeper is a wonderfully friendly host. Her breakfasts are uncomparable. My husband and I are now hooked on bed and breakfasts. We know if we stay anywhere else they are going to have to work really hard to top our stay at the Honeybee Inn.

We spent our honeymoon night here. Location was great. Quaint little town Imaculate room and guest areas. The Hostess is a delightful lady and cooks up a breakfast fit for a King and Queen. We had a seven head shower in our own private and spacious bath as well as an two person whirlpool tub in the room. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortble. You will sleep like a baby. I would recommend it to all my friends and family.

Besides being spotless, she included amenities, such as candies, dvd's, games, menus from nearby restaurants, complimentary soft drinks and water, refrigerator in the hall, complimentary coffee and tea in the hall. The breakfast was outstanding and the ambience wonderful. This was truely one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed at.

This was our first time staying at a B & B and it will not be our last. We had a wonderful experience and other B & Bs have a lot to live up to.

My daughter and family live in Horicon and had passed by the Honeybee Inn many times over the years. This year, I decided to spend a couple of nights over the Easter holiday. The room was lovely and quiet, the breakfast filling, very tasty and beautifully presented. Barb was an excellent host and answered all my questions about the house and it's history plus there was a book in my room on Horicon history and the house is mentioned several times. It's always wonderful to be with my grandchildren but I really appreciated coming back to the Inn and the peace of my room. Although the Inn has been voted one of the most romantic B & B's in the country, this single grandma enjoyed it too.

We stayed in a lovely room with jacuzzi and gas fireplace. The owners have added many thoughtful details to enhance their guests' stay. DVD's, microwave popcorn, coffee/tea are all available in the upstairs hallway. Our breakfast was fantastic! We were served baked cinnamon apples and pumpkin pancakes along with coffee/tea and juice. Everything was delicious. The owners, Barb and Fred, are very accommodating and will make restaurant suggestions or give information about area attractions. The inn is located on a quiet street in Horicon not far from the Horicon Marsh.

Our stay at the Honeybee Inn Bed and Breakfast exceeded all expectations - it was romantic, peaceful, relaxing and just plain delightful. The Inn itself is truly beautiful, the food outstanding and the hospitality of the hosts displayed in many many lovely ways.

We were celebrating our anniversary. Every year we try some place new. We were attending the Jazz Fest in West Bend, WI and found the Honeybee while searching for overnight accommodations. We love B&Bs and, though this inn was 25 miles from West Bend, it sounded appealing. Barbara and Fred helped my husband plan a very pleasant weekend by offering a package that included a pontoon boat tour of neighboring Horicon Marsh, dinner in Mayville at the Audubon House, beautiful roses and truffles in our room, and hand-dipped (in house) chocolate strawberries. Our room was adorable and the bed was pure comfort. The bathroom offered new amenities without loosing the Victorian charm of this meticulously restored, historic home. But, by far, the best part of our stay was breakfast. Both mornings we were spoiled sitting on the screened-in front porch and being served plated meals to die for. Fruit and granola parfaits, banana stuffed croissants w/warm pecan sauce, and boutique sausage the first morning. Fresh pineapple w/toasted coconut and cream sauce, ham/egg/cheese stuffed puff pastry, and unique thick bacon the next. Add to that the other guests and lively banter between all of us and our innkeepers. I can't imagine a nicer weekend retreat. Well worth the trip.

Like walking into a Thomas Kinkade painting. Beautiful decor, food to die for, spirit of warmth and hospitality while respecting your privacy. Our first B&B experience, and definitely won't be our last! Wonderful natural surroundings, adjacent to Horicon Marsh, largest cattail marsh in the U.S.

This was our first bed and breakfast. Our stay was very pleasant and relaxing. Fred and Barb made our stay memorable. They definitely won us over and are planning future visits to bed and breakfasts. The food was beyond our expectations. Every penny spent was well worth it!!!

My adult daughter and I stayed at the Honeybee Inn in August, 2009. We were on a kayak adventure and the Horicon Marsh was great fun. But we wanted to have a bit of luxury too. Honeybee Inn was perfect! The room was spacious enough for two people to hang out. The multi-directional shower was wonderful after a day on the water. I liked the northwoodsy decorating in our room and the antique but sturdy furniture throughout the inn. I am not fond of those decors where you are afraid to sit for fear of breaking something. Honeybee was like home. We had a porch off the room too which gave us some private access to the outdoors on the cool evenings and two of the days we had breakfast served on the screened porch off the dining room. Barb's breakfasts were superb...fruit, main dish with meat and a breakfast "dessert." I don't usually stay in b&b's because I am kind of an introvert and not sure about the social part of a b&b, but Barb puts you immediately at ease. Luxurious!...great room, service and food. I definitely want to go back!

From our home in Chicago my husband and I have traveled by motorcycle all across the country - from Coeur D'Alene ID to Nova Scotia, staying in B&Bs most all the time. And, we spend at least one weekend a year, usually more, visiting Wisconsin. I can say without reservation that this is one of the top 3 B&Bs we have had the pleasure of visiting, and is in fact our favorite. The Victorian home is beautiful and not kitschy or "crafty." The rooms are tastefully done. They are so nice you know you are in a top B&B, but not like a museum where you don't feel comfortable just sitting on the sofa. And the breakfasts - my goodness. Barb is tops for breakfast AND congeniality. Just the right mix of friendliness without in-your-face curiosity and forced conversation. If at all considering a B&B near Horicon - stay here. The Honeybee alone is worth the trip.

I would recommend this beautiful inn to anyone coming to the area. It is well located near the Horicon Marsh. The hosts are most accommodating and friendly.

We luxuriated in the Queen Bee Victorian, truly. The king size feather bed was delightful, the nine-head rain shower indulgent, the food fantastic (with accommodations for vegetarians to boot!). Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful inn and be refreshed.

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. The "extras" really made the weekend. You could have stayed in all weekend and never been bored. Beautiful home..would highly recommend.

The house is beautiful and the hosts Barb and Fred were great. The breakfast was excellant. Honeybee is very close to the marsh and within walking distance of good restaurants and activities. My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Honeybee Inn. We walked in to see our names on the chalkboard on the front porch. The innkeeper greeted us for a brief tour of the beautiful house with awesome stained glass windows everywhere. Our room was very nice - a rustic-themed room that was very comfortable with a 4-post log bed, a fireplace, outdoor decor, and a very comfy bed. The breakfast was unbelievable - a seasonal masterpiece. We had a baked cinnamon apple to start out and that was followed up by pumpkin pancakes with real maple syrup and farmer's market apple juice. Quite delectable to say the least. I highly recommend staying here as it is a very warm, inviting and relaxing bed and breakfast. You will not leave disappointed.

The room was not only clean but very well appointed. Movies were available as well as soda, water and snacks. The breakfast was fabulous! The owners made sure to visit with each and every visitor.

This had to be the most relaxing and friendly B&B that we have stayed in in a long long time. We were treated like King & Queen for the stay and eventhough we rode Harley's they welcomed us with open arms. The food was more than we could handle and it was tastey and something imaginative everyday. Thanks to Barb and Fred for all of their hard work and for making us feel welcome. Many little things were thought of, chocolates at bedstand, coffee & tea machine, face cleansing wipes in bathroom, many DVD & CD great movies, very nice people and very clean. Breakfast was great and very filling, but a little too sweet.

Our stay at the Honeybee Inn was truly exceptional. We've stayed in enough B and B's across the country to know when we encounter exceptional service and hospitality. It's no secret that these innkeepers take their job seriously and make every effort to make sure your stay is both special and comfortable. I was impressed with the beautiful house built in the 1900s, the decor and efforts made to reflect the fall season - a wonderfully scented candle, beautiful wreathes in fall colors and the most wonderful slow-baked apples that melted in your mouth and filled the house with the aromas of the season. Some B and Bs are decorated in a way that makes my husband feel like every room is the 'powder room' but this house seemed rich with history and elegance. We stayed in the Honeydew Lodge (room) and although it was one of the smaller rooms, we were perfectly comfortable! The featherbed felt so good it was difficult to leave. We enjoyed all the wonderful extras- a variety of flavored hot coffees and teas (yum!) and cold drinks of our choice, snacks (dark chocolate) and plenty of DVDs to entertain us after a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant. All this to say- the innkeeper took the time to help us find the right restaurant and the best place to view the birds at the nearby marsh. Although we were vacationing from Oklahoma, we would consider returning in the future to experience the wonderful things that the Horicon Refuge, town and this exceptional B and B have to offer.

We stayed in the HoneyDew Lodge. It was very nice - decorated with an outdoor theme. Barb and Fred were wonderful hosts, and the food was fantastic! All in all, we highly recommend them if you're in the Horicon area. Bob and Mary Jean

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the Honeybee Inn. The place is magical. The soft background music, the impeccable décor, sparkling clean surroundings, the beautiful architecture, the outdoor fairy gardens (at least it looks like fairies could live there), and the fine touch to detail in every aspect, lend itself to ultimate relaxation. We felt completely spoiled with the chocolates on arrival, the many selections of coffee and tea at the Flavia machine, the wide selection of movies, the comfortable feather bed and pressed linens, and the decadent breakfasts. The Inn is a place where dessert is always served first and anyone that loves tea can enjoy any number of fancy selections, (my favorite was the pumpkin spice tea). The inn keepers cater to the business traveler with the wireless connection and willingness to help with directions, and organize events. None of our questions or needs seemed like an inconvenience. We both agree that the Honey Bee Inn is better than a five star hotel. We enjoyed looking through the picture book that showed some of the renovation process. It is evident that the inn keepers are passionate about being inn keepers. From the dream to the renovation to actually making it happen and becoming the best B&B in Wisconsin, it is so nice to see people like Barb and Fred who make every effort to strive for excellence. I really didn’t want to leave the Honeybee Inn and return to reality, (and it was hard to tear myself away from the huge chair with the equally huge footstool in the living room – I could have sat there all day). Perhaps one day my husband and I can return to Horicon and enjoy the comfort of the inn and the beautiful surroundings of the Wildlife Refuge. Our stay was so enjoyable and memorable.

Grand old building, delightful room, unexpected extra touches, excellent service and delicious food made for a great weekend getaway and a chance to unwind and discover something new!

Our stay here was the end to seven day trip to Wisconsin, but what a way to end the trip. The trip from Florida was worth the effort just to partake of Barbara's awesome breakfast. Both days were a sheer delight her stuffed French toast and crème de lay fruit compote was to good to explain. Thank you so much for all the little details and major effort to make it just right.

The only thing that would make it better would be if they had some snacks available when we arrived. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic... very tasty. Good restaurant recommendations. Barb and Fred we're very friendly.

A first class B&B, very neat and clean, Barb & Fred are most gracious hosts.I just completed my third year in a row stay while attending the Oshkosh AirVenture. I love the place, it is definitely a 10.and their breakfast is so wonderful. Part of the fun is the drive to Horicon with the neat farm fields. Be sure to dine at the various restaurants in the area, my favorites are: Benvenutos Italian Restaurant in Beaver Dam The Audubon Inn in Mayville Gingers Hide Away in Horicon And a fabulous Ice Cream stand just one block from your B&B.. it's a pretty country with all of the farm fields
