Washington House Inn

I recently stayed at the Washington House Inn in Cedarburg to attend a high school reunion. Cedarburg is always a fun place to be and the Inn is quaint and the people there are helpful and friendly. I especially like the fact that the dining room is available at all hours and often with free food. Some friends and I were able to gather there in the afternoon and look at old yearbooks, while drinking wine and munching on cheese and crackers.

This was our second stay and we will return in about a month for a couple more days. THe rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the shower was incredible! The breakfast buffet is filled with delights.

This was my second time here. Love the decor, the staff was very friendly, informative and helpful. The afternoon wine and cheese get together was delightful. The wines were good and the snacks tasty. A great way to start out our evening. The morning breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be returning in the future.

The Washington House Inn just does everything right. We have stayed there many times and we're always impressed.

We received a gift certificate to the Washington House as a Christmas gift. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Was surprised at the size of the property. We were expecting an old house that had been turned into a B&B. Breakfast was so good and we had plenty of time to sit and relax in the dining room while reading and enjoying our coffee after breakfast.

We've stayed at the Inn many times and never have I found ONE thing to complain about!! Not one! It's perfection! Comfortable, quiet, quaint, warm, friendly, Don't miss it...go and stay 'just because!'

In the fall of 2012 and again in May, 2013, I thoroughly enjoyed my stays at the Washington House Inn in Cedarburg, WI. The Inn is lovely, with period furnishings and details, offering high-end, comfort in bedding and bath. The Innkeeper and her staff are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and - just plain 'nice'. Add to that the great early evening social hour and 'fantabulous', homemade breakfasts and you have a winning experience. Situated smack-dab in the middle of one of the most-coveted places to live in suburban Milwaukee, Cedarburg is a treasure trove of interesting shops, restaurants, coffee houses and entertainment. I look forward to my next stay...

Everything was great except the room temperature was on the cool side and it would have been nice to be able to warm it up a bit.

We are repeat visitors to the Washington House Inn & for the last few times have stayed in the Edward Blank room. We like the jacuzzi tub & the nice soft robes. The people are very nice & helpful & the wine & cheese get together is great. Totally recommend.

Staying in the Gertrude Schroeder room was pure joy! The sun room was a wonderful place to relax in the morning with a cup of coffee or in the evening after soaking in the whirlpool. The staff at Washington House Inn made us feel like a part of their family. Thank you for giving us some very nice memories.

Excellent, professional and friendly service in an authentic, historic inn. Unusual and historic room with exposed brick work, exposed beams and strong old wood floors. Windows in room openable with screens. Nice dining room with lots of tables so you can sit with your own party. Wine/snack hour with local wines. Hot and cold serve-yourself breakfast to have at your convenience during a 3-hour time slot. Very friendly and professional staff. Coffee/tea and yummy water with fruit slices available all day. Loved our stay in this inn and this lovely, historic town. Our only suggestion is to request a room facing the front---since we opened our windows, it was noisy in our room facing the back due to a mechanical unit cycling on and off all night and trash being dumped (?) into bins just below our windows.

Stayed here 12 years ago. Loved it then, and love it now!

Great hotel and walking town. Wonderful shops & restaurants. Delicious breakfast buffet at the hotel. Great decor.

This was our second visit to the Washington House Inn, and we were once again thrilled with the entire experience. We stayed in Schroeder #3 and were very pleased with the jetted tub and fireplace next to the bed. The room was so comfortable, we had to force ourselves to leave in order to explore the town. We had dinner at the Anvil, and a late night snack at the ice cream shop next door (both were fantastic). We highly recommend Washington House and will return again in the future!

Friendly atmosphere

We were only able to stay one night at the Inn, but it was a very nice experience. The wine social hour was great and the breakfast was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and the room was warm and welcoming. Would like to return sometime and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Cedarburg is a nice place to relax!

This place is amazing! I already made a reservation to return this summer! The breakfast and scones make you wish you lived at the Washington Inn in Cedarburg.

My girlfriend and I had visited Cedarburg, WI a couple of times and had longed to stay at the beautiful Washington House Inn, as we are both very much into historic Americana. Our chance finally came recently when one of her friends was having a wedding reception not far from Cedarburg. We were more than pleasantly surprised at the beauty of our room (and the entirety of the inn), the friendliness of the staff, and the size and variety of items offered at the continental breakfast - even after having high hopes for the inn to start. We definitely hope to stay again.

Loved the wine & cheese social, Being in a separate building, had to go back for ice and no fresh coffee. Also sidewalks unshoveled after night snow.

We have been frequenting WHI for about 25 years. It is definitely our favorite getaway place. Wendy and her staff are very accommodating and are always there to help. This isn't your typical B&B...if you haven't been there, give it a try - we're sure you will enjoy it. Bill and Sue

The staff were very warm and welcoming. In fact, much more so, than several years ago, when I stayed there before. Over all, I would definitely come back.

The Washington House is the most beautiful and nicest bed and breakfast in Wisconsin! I would highly recommend staying here! The staff is really friendly and helpful. Loved the wine and cheese tasting.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay, comfy and cozy during the snow storm. Room was immaculet, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was superb! Wine and cheese hour in the gathering room was delightful after a day of walking around town. So convenient to everything. We parked our car when we arrived and walked everywhere we wanted to go.

Our first scheduled stay at the Washington House had to be cancelled due to the weather with only a 12 hr. notice but despite the policy for 48 hrs. the innkeeper was very understanding and cancelled our stay ww/o charge. We rescheduled 2 weeks later, this time for 2 nights. It was a grand experience! The rooms are old, of course but very clean. The staff, without exception, were so friendly and helpful. The wine and cheese social hour was great fun with delicious wine & cheeses. And the breakfasts, served "hidden" buffet style were wonderful-homemade everything. The buffet was nestled among the antiques in various locations in the dining area. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and we will go back and recommend it highly!

My wife and I were doing remodeling at our home. On short notice the contractors indicated we would have to find other lodging to complete their work. We registered at the inn in one of the ;large suites. It was very luxurious,The size of a small apartment. It was very romantic and homey with 2 fireplaces.. The breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. The wine and cheese servings in the evening was very nice and and relaxing.

Spent the weekend for a little rest and relaxation. It was perfect.

Words cannot begin to express just how many wonderful memories we have from all the times we have stayed at the Washington Inn over the past 25 years! We have given several gift certificates to our family to enjoy as well! The rooms are so clean and beautifully decorated! The wine and chesse time is delightful~ and the homemade breakfast delicious :) The town of Cedarburg~ with all it's little shops, unique restaurants and winery provides a wonderful experience that makes you want to come back again and again!

Wondeful breakfast! Loved the atmosphere.

My wife and I were upgraded to a larger suite at no extra cost due to damage to our reserved room. It made for a comfortable stay during some nasty weather in Cedarburg. The staff was friendly and breakfast was wonderful. Our only concern was the somewhat cramped parking.

A wonderful place to get away from the city. Well located for outdoors stuff, such as biking or x-country skiing, with an interesting town to wander too. Dinning options are what you would hope to find in Wisconsin, with a nice variety. Hotel breakfast is a good start to the day, lunch & dinner within easy walking distance. A wonderful place in its own right, and well located too.

We enjoyed the cozy rooms and tasty breakfast at the Washington Inn. The whirlpool bathtub and comfortable king-sized bed were exceptionally nice.

Everyone is so nice, beds are comfortable, rooms relaxing, very clean, feel very pampered. Wine and Cheese at night is awesome - nice to try some different wines in the area. Breakfast is always outstanding. We have been coming here for 7 years and love it and we are always looking forward to our next stay in Cedarburg.

We stayed on a weekend when the Washington House was sold out of rooms. You wouldn't have known it by the minimal traffic in the hallways or common areas. The most comfortable beds I have slept in and so QUIET! We didn't hear anyone when we were in our room or when we were sleeping and I am a VERY light sleeper. The only reason I knew the weekend was was sold out was because I tried to book a room for my sister online and there were no more rooms available. The continental breakfast was delicious with some unique items and a good variety. Accommodating and friendly service even when we checked in at 10:00 at night.

We stayed for one night as a late anniversary celebration. We have stayed here several times in different rooms and have always enjoyed our time there. The rooms are always spotless and welcoming. The variety and uniqueness of each room is really nice. The breakfast is delicious especially the breakfast casserole!

We had been to the Washington House Inn before, but it has been a few years. It was delightful to be back, from the friendly greeting when we arrived, the relaxed time with wine and cheese and a delicious breakfast. But best of all, of course, was the room. I recently stayed at Washington House Inn during a business related trip. I was pleasantly suprised at the value. Additionally, the room was incredibly clean and the service was phenomenal! A great experience and far better than a traditional hotel!

Nice location, rooms and varied breakfast items. Always nice to be there at Christmas so that Santa fills shoes left outside your door! Nicely decorated and very friendly staff. THE place to stay in Cedarburg!

Takes you back in time. Great atmosphere. Enjoyable wine and cheese hour and breakfast. Been coming here for special occasions for years. Each room is different I would recommend staying here to just get away, and step back in time.

Wonderful establishment in a super-charming small town.

We spent our weddingnight at the Inn in 1985 and hadn't been back since so decided it was time. We found the accomodations to be excellent and the evening wine and cheese gathering as well as the breakfast to be superior. We were not disappointed in the least even though we expected to be in the main building and found ourselves in the SH. It was very quiet and had excellent accomodations.

We try and make it up each year over the holiday. Great little, and a terrific place to stay. Quiet, clean, with a lovely breakfast and a wine and cheese ritual each evening that promotes good friends and fun.

The Inn is warm, inviting, romantic. Everything a B& B should be. Breakfast goes above and beyond. The rooms are beautiful with attention to detail.

We stayed only one evening and look forward to returning . We enjoyed the full day of exploring Cedarburg. It is a delightful area with so much to do and enjoy. Barbara Mallien

This is a very charming inn in a pretty, historic, small town just north of Milwaukee. The shops are unique and interesting and the buildings are well maintained with original stone. There are several places to eat including an excellent bakery, wonderful coffee shops, candy stores, cafes and restaurants. My husband and I had a wonderful stay and plan to return soon.

Everything about The Washington House was wonderful! It is the second time we have stayed there. The special Fireplace Promotion made this weekend affordable and possible. Our only complaints happen to be beyond The Washington House's control...The town of Cedarburg has installed loud beepers or recordings on the traffic lights at crosswalks which can be heard in the rooms facing the road as ours was. It was disturbing and we hope the town will reconsider their use. The other was that the local restaurants seem to be closed on Sunday and Monday which made eating out difficult. We called a friend who lives in Milwaukee and got a recommendation for a great restaurant that fortunately was worth the drive into the city. Other than that, Cedarburg is a lovely town which we enjoy and The Washington house is "Top Notch"!

Great 50% discount for off-season, great staff, and very helpful. Wonderful breakfast and the social hour with wine, cheese/crackers and fruit was outstanding. Didn't even need to order wine with dinner!!! Surely, we will come again!

My Husband and I love to stay at the Washington House Inn. This was our 8th visit. The rooms are cozy and romantic . Our room had a fireplace and tub for two. The bedding and sheets were so soft and cozy. We love the 5:00p.m. wine hour and the breakfast. The homemade coffee cake was so yummy. We are planning another getaway soon.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and spacious. We were offered a wine and cheese social which was nice. The breakfast was wonderful, filling and delecious. The sheets on the bed were to die for.

I wanted a night at a peaceful beautfil place, so that my friend and I could celebrate my 48Th birthday. This Inn was just the right place for us. The 50% off the room was outstanding.

This was our 2nd time at the Washington House Inn, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The wine and cheese hour is a great way to unwind while deciding where to go for dinner. The breakfast is delicious with many choices; fruit, cereal, croissants, egg and sausage casserole, yogurt parfait, coffee, tea, juice. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The linens are outstanding, the beds very comfortable. Located in a quaint, historic town with a winery, shops, theater, and several restaurants.

We have been going to the Washington House for the last several years and once again we had a great stay. We love the wine and cheeze in the afternoon and the breakfeast in the morning is wonderful.

We stayed here to ceIebrate our 27th anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. The Quade room was exactly as it was depicted in the picture. It has a separate entrance and you have to go outside from the lobby to reach it, which was a bit inconvenient due to the inclement weather. It is an old building and you could easily hear the people upstairs walking around, but the room was beautiful and didn't at all reflect the age of the building. The wine and cheese was very enjoyable in the afternoon. And the breakfast was outstanding - very generous, a lot of homemade selections, all of them very tasty! We are from California and my wife left a prescription behind. When we arrived home, we received a phone call from the Inn that they found the prescription and they offered to promptly mail it home to us.

great b&b. couple of small criticisms: - the hallways have a very weird must/old/food smell - the rooms dont have any climate control whatsoever. it was pretty warm in ours, and the suggestion was to simply turn off the fan that blows the central heat and hope for the best. other than that, beautiful, wonderful trip!

My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Washington House. Our room was clean and the linens on the bed were silky soft. Loved the character of the room.

This was our annual stay in Cedarburg and as usual enjoyed ourselves.

This was a suprise geta way for my wife. She was extremely satisfied with the accomadations at the Washington House. The wine and cheese social hour was an extremely wonderful addition to our stay and the breakfast was perfect.

The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. The food was tasty and very well made. The room was cozy with a great view. The only problem was the lack of air flow throughout the room. One shower heated up the room quite a bit, and it stayed that way. Definitely will go back again!

Was happy with the room upstairs and downstairs. The bathroom could be more updated. Offering bottled water was a very nice touch as we were parched after a long drive. For the price, it would have been nice to have a hot breakfast included. We ended up having to go to a restaurant instead as the offerings were not anything impressive. We were very happy they were able to check us in early as the room was available. I would have also liked to be given more info about the town and a map. They weren't very aware about the Oktoberfest.

We have stayed several times at Washington House for our anniversary and Valentines Day. It is a great place and is one of the best B & B we have ever stayed at.

Our kids gave us a gift certificate to the Washington House Inn last Christmas. We decided fall would be a good time to go . . . and it was fabulous! It was our first time there, but it certainly won't be our last. We had two delightful nights at the inn and we couldn't have been more pleased with everything. The breakfasts were awesome. We loved the entire experience!

The room was very nice, but I thought the shower needed updating and there wasn't enough bathroom counterspace. The breakfast was great--nice variety!!

We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful weekend. Our only complaint was the dining room breakfast service. The room is very cramed with tables and chairs and hard to move around to get back and forth to the buffet. It would help if the servers came around to pour coffee refills. The noise from the kitchen was very distracting because the door is open and right outside the dinning room. Clanging and banging noises from kitchen clean-up went on throughout the breakfast hour. I asked one of the staff to close off the door and received a very sour response. Other than that, the food was good. Still did not enjoy paying over $200.00 a night for a noisy banging breakfast. Our room was lovely and quiet.

The very best thing about the Washington House (yes, even better than the quaint surroundings, the gorgeous but comfortable room, and the reasonable price) is the option to have a (delightful, filling—and included in the room rate) breakfast tray delivered to your door. If you love the romance and warmth of a B&B but loathe making small talk with strangers at 8 in the morning, this is the place for you.

The hotel was nice and friendly, and where they offered food, it was good - wine and cheese hour and breakfast, but overall it was way over priced for what it was. Maybe we just are not into the half rustic half modern look. The rooms were quiet and very clean, but window closings didn't work. The room should have been priced at 1/2 of what it was to get all 5's from us. The options in Cedarburg seem to be limited.

We have been to the Washington Inn many times in the past. They have always exceeded expectations. Rooms are always very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and there is always something to do in Cedarburg within walking distance.

I have stayed at The Washington House Inn three times and love it. The rooms are charming and each is unique. The inn is historic but the bathrooms are modern. Highlights are the 5 pm social hour with wine and cheese and the delicious complementary breakfast. I will go again!

An unexpected treat and nice way to celebrate with our son his 25th birthday.

Our stay at the Washington House Inn was lovely! The best parts of the stay were the cute rooms, large whirlpool bath, wine and cheese social hour, fireplace, and the breakfast in bed. It was a perfect place to stay for my husband and I on our first anniversary. We hope to come stay again soon...the downtown area is so wonderful to be close to. We love the fall weather and strolling around with a coffee, and the cedar creek winery tour.

We stayed in one of the more expensive rooms, a beautiful one at that. However, the price just wasn't warranted and next time we would stay in one of the lower priced rooms. All in all it was a pleasant stay except for the fact that it dropped into the thirties at night and there was no heat. The room was chilly and not very comfortable. I inquired at the desk and was told that they don't turn on the heat until the daytime temperature is below 50 because the hotel heats up and becomes uncomfortable. So, if you do say during the fall be prepared for a chilly room. You can however request a space heater, something we didn't know about. The breakfast was substandard, I liken it to a deluxe Holiday Inn Express buffet. No kidding, they could do better and should. There was one hot item, a egg casserole. Other than that it was the usual continental breakfast - cold cereal, pastries,bread, bagels, and fruit. Hot oatmeal would have been welcome along with other hot entrees. I mean this is a Bed and Breakfast, right? So do it up a bit for breakfast. All in all though it is a fine establishment with great service in a charming town with a bike path close by. Just go for the less expensive rooms and don't expect much of a breakfast. And remember the space heater.

I went to Cedarburg to do the Volksmarch that begins there and thought staying at the same place would be convenient. It is was more than convenient -- it was wonderful. I enjoyed everything about the bed and breakfast. All staff work to make everyone's stay pleasant. My room was lovely and the view outside was great. I enjoyed both the breakfast in the morning -- good food and very nice variety -- and the social hour in the evening.

Really enjoyable stay including the alteration in breakfast arrangements when the inn was having the carpets cleaned in the dining room. We sat outside at the bistro tables by the entrance and under the cover of the entry overhang. The staff, even in the midst of cleaning all chairs and tables and furniture in the dining room , took very good care of us!

We had a very nice stay. I'm not a fan of a typical hotel, so it was perfect for us.

My now-husband and I stayed at the Washington House Inn the night of our wedding, which was a few miles away in Cedarburg. We arrived quite late after the reception, but the person working at the desk was lovely and helpful. Check in was smooth and easy, and he brought us some toothrushes and other items we'd forgotten. The room itself was lovely, clean and beautiful. We left relatively early the next morning since we had a brunch to get to--didn't have breakfast at the Inn so can't comment on the food. Check out was also very easy. All in all, it was delightful.

My friends and I came up to Cedarburg for a 'girls weekend' and we were utterly charmed by the Washington House. Although we arrived after the 'wine and cheese hour' was scheduled, they kept it open for us. The quality of the offerings was lovely, and the room was bigger and more comfortable than I had expected for four people. In the morning, breakfast was well enjoyed by all of us, and we are somewhat picky. When we stayed at a namebrand hotel we opted not to eat their breakfast even tho it was free. The Washington House exceeded expectations in every way. As soon as we arrived I was texting my husband that we need to plan a weekend for ourselves to go there, soon.

Lots of shops to walk through, but less restaurants than the last time we stayed. Still a wonderful area to visit. The whirlpool in our room was awesome.

My wife and I stayed in a 2-room suite #218. The rooms were rustic, yet clean. The king size bed was very comforable the two nights we stayed. The morning breakfast served was one of the best we have ever had...especially where breakfasts are included! The staff was very courtious and pleasant. The central location in downtown Cedarburg was not only convient, but also made one feel a part of the "Cedarburg experience". I would recommend staying at the Washington House Inn if you are looking for a place with the rustic charm of days gone by.

This restored brick building is a splendid B & B. Each room is unique and loaded with amenities. The Hattie Wiesler room on the second floor was very quiet. Furnishings included a double whirlpool tub and a fireplace. No view from the window but walking trips around the town lead us to interesting shopping and wonderful sightseeing. Breakfast buffet and snacks with complimentary wine were especially nice.

Our stay at the Washington House Inn exceeded our expectations! It was a last minute decision on where to celebrate our anniversary and was one of the best decisions ever. The online booking was extremely easy upon arrival the Inn was even better than the website photos suggested. The whirlpool and fireplace were fantastic for our romantic getaway and we thoroughly loved our stay. The staff were outstanding and the Inn's location in Cedarburg makes it THE place to stay. We'll definitely be back!

We have been staying at the Washington House Inn for years and always enjoy it... very consistently meets our expectations.

My wife and I went to The Washington House Inn to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We could not have choen a better place! From the comfort and decor of our room and the common areas of the inn to the fabulous breakfast every morning and the helpful/serving staff we were very pleased all the way around. We also loved the Cedarburg atmosphere. Not too big but with enough dining choices, etc., and so close to Milwaukee We will return for another visit, without a doubt!

We were very surprised to have been given an upgrade to a room with a hot tub. It was great fun.

The breakfast is a FULL breakfast as we were expecting the usual Motel 6 continental type. Close to our favorite bar in all of Packerland. One problem is that it is too close to an ice cream and taffy apple shop. Employees were outstanding.

The Washington House Inn is a charming, beautiful B & B. It is a relaxing retreat with beautiful rooms many of which have large whirlpool baths. The wine and cheese reception in the evening is such a nice little extra allowing you to unwind and relax. The morning continental breakfast provides delicious homemade breads, cakes and other tasty offerings. The staff are inviting and friendly and always available to offer assistance. It's an annual retreat for me and husband. We just love it!

It was a nice for my Wife's birthday. The shops and restaurants are close most are with in walking distance. The service was excellent. We will makes this a annual event.

My husband and I just wanted a relaxing weekend away from the craziness of Chicago. We found this was just what we needed! Excellent service and town. we would definitely return.

The inn was clean, the food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful in every way.

Stayed at the Washington House for our 5th anniversary. As always it was a beautiful, relaxing stay.

Staff was courteous and attentive. Breakfast was excellent. There was a musty smell in our room, in the elevator, and in the basement lounge area.

Being more and more difficult to take lareg vacations...Cederburg and the Washington Inn provide us with the perfect affordable place to escape for a few days. The rooms are so beautiful, the staff is warmand friendly and the Breakfast is so fun. They even had a gluten free muffin for me!!!!! We are looking forward to our next trip up.

We stayed in the Schroeder Guest House at Washington House Inn. The room was nicely laid out, beautifully decorated, very clean and mostly very quiet. It was located in the main street side of the building which meant there were a few late Saturday night motorcyclist who woke my husband but not me. The breakfast in the Washington House Inn had a very nice selection of food set out buffet style. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a wonderful bed and breakfast. The package deal that they offered was out of this world! It made our anniversary wonderful!!

Room was outstanding - best bed and sheets EVER! Room was spacious and very clean. Had asked for extra sheets for the sofa bed and housekeeping provided above and beyond ample towels, sheets, pillows, blankets. Service at reception was good - nothing exceptional but nothing negative. Breakfast was tasty and fresh - nice selection of pastries. Over all a very pleasant stay at the Washington House Inn.

Beds were extremely comfortable, service was perfect. Bathroom could have been cleaner, but otherwise a pleasant stay. Loved the scones!

We were very happy with Washington house. Loved the room, it was unique, very clean, smelled wonderful, whirlpool was spotless which is always a concern of mine. We enjoyed meeting the other guests, the breakfast and the staff were all very friendly. The town is delightful to explore. The entire weekend package could not have been better with one minor exception. We ordered the champaigne option and just as they promised it was waiting and chilled when we arrived which was fantastic, however neither of us finished even our first glass as we didn't care for their choice of champaign at all. It puckered the face : ). We would recommend this for anyone looking for a get away and have in fact already recommneded it to many friends!

The Washington Inn was fabulous!!! The room was beautiful and cozy. But the most wonderful part of our stay ws the staff. We checked in with Kate, and the room we had booked wasn't going to work for us, Kate went above and beyond to make sure we got into a room that fit our needs. She was fantastic to us! The breakfast was beyond what we expected. I would stay here in a minute, and probably will. If there was one draw back it was the street noise, as our room was right along Washington Ave..

I grew up in Cedarburg but never stepped foot in the Washington House Inn. On a recent trip back I chose this Inn for my wife and I. It was fantastic! The room was charming and romantic, the service was great, and the food was excellent. What makes this especially worth the while is it is located in the center of town. There is no need to drive anywhere, which comes in handy late at night.... We will stay at the Washington House Inn on our visits from now on!

From the moment we arrived, I felt a sense of peace because Cedarburg is such a beautiful town. I feel as though I've stepped back in time. A time when life was much more simple, there wasn't all the hustle and bustle. But then, we opened our door to enter the John Roth suite and it took my breath away. It was more beautiful than the pictures we had seen online. I would reccomend this room to anyone, it was simply beautiful. Great job!

I was a little skeptical about the price at first but after arriving I was immediately impressed by the staff and cleanliness of the room. The bed was just right and the breakfast was excellent! There are also plenty of nice places to eat within walking distance. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended! A+

Everything about our girls weekend was perfect! Our room was charming, comfortable and quiet. Our breakfasts were outstanding, and beautifully presented. Everyone was so friendly and kind, too!

I will return! The Inn, the staff, the food, the town - everything was great! It is on my short list for a return visit.

The Schroeder House was full of vintage charm. The front porch was a great place to watch the happenings of the town and the room was very comfortable with a four poster bed and large whirlpool tub. Breakfasts were delicious!

The room was quaint, clean, and comfortable. The afternoon cheese and wine buffet was very nice. The breakfast was superb! We will recommend this place to others.

My wife and I spent one night at The Washington House Inn last weekend. It is a charming and quiet spot in downtown Cedarburg. We felt welcome and the staff was helpful in finding our way around town and planning dinner. We stayed in room 305 and we liked the king bed and double headed shower. We were right next to the elevator, but we never heard it. The bed and sheets were really comfortable. We both had a great night of sleep. We wandered Cedarburg and enjoyed tasting wine at the winery and poking through some of the shops downtown. There is easily a day's worth of stuff to see, wine to drink and food to eat in downtown Cedarburg. The Inn's wine and cheese happy hour was a nice way to start the evening. While the breakfast cakes and muffins were good, we needed something a bit more hearty and headed to a diner just two blocks away. The only thing to make us hesitate to return was the price of the room. Our room was $215 plus $20 in taxes. While we originally bought an online deal through Living Social, we didn't use the deal before it expired and ended up paying the full price for a room. While we might head back to The Washington House Inn someday, we might alternatively decide to save money and stay in downtown Milwaukee next time. In summary, I highly recommend The Washington House Inn, but I felt that it was a little bit expensive.

Wonderful breakfast includes 4 - 6 homemade bakery items, hot dish, cereal, fruit, bread, juices, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. Plenty to fill anyone up. The Wine and Cheese hour includes many wines, crackers, cheeses, grapes, and other munchies. Very nice stay, great town, relaxing with many things to do. Recommend Cedarburg and the Washington House Inn to anyone.

Lovely, historic Washington House room- would have liked to have stayed longer to use the amenities like the huge jacuzzi tub. Quiet location, great bed. Breakfast was lovely the next morning.

We have had the pleasure of visiting many Inns over the years and when we need a quick retreat Washington House Inn has become one of our favorites! All the breakfast selections are very tasty and homemade. One of my biggest complaints when visiting an Inn is that the breakfasts are too large. Having this bountiful buffet is much to our liking being able to take the right portion that suits your needs. The rooms are always comfortable and you are not lacking of any needs within your room. Staff is always attentive and willing to make your stay a memorable one. Please give the Inn a chance on your next visit! You won't be disappointed with this gem!

Its a really special place, loads of charm and friendly staff. One of my all time favorites !

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the Memorial Day Weekend, and had the most wonderful time. We rode our bikes to Port Washington on the Interurban Trail, walked around the Maxwell Street Days market, toured the Pioneer Museum, visited the local Cedarburg shops, became locals at the great sandwich place next door, and even got to see the Memorial Day Parade (which passed right in front of the inn!). The breakfast was fresh, ample and delicious, and the room was spacious, yet cozy and romantic. It was a perfect way to get the warmth of a B&B and the lovely small town environment while still having modern and luxurious amenities. Come visit the Washington Inn House. You will not be disappointed. We will certainly be back!

We stayed there from 5-22-12 thru 5-24-12 and loved it.....room was great for the price, breakfast and wine and cheese were great...will definitely go back.

Washington House Inn has been a favorite of ours for many years. It's always comfy & cozy. The staff are warm and helpful with any questions you might have. The cleanliness has always been spot on, which matters to me if I'm going to be sitting in an in-room whirlpool bath. The rooms we've stayed in have been maintained quite well. However, the single whirlpool bath in this room did show a quite bit of wear to the finish on the metal parts. Over all it was still a very relaxing visit.

My wife and I chose the Washington House Inn to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary and what we found was amazing. The room was quaint, relaxing and inviting. The location was great for seeing beautiful downtown Cedarburg by foot. The cuisine both at the wine and cheese pre-dinner snack and the morning brunch had that home-made deliciousness unlike anything offered by a hotel.

The Washington House Inn was beautifully decorated and the staff was great. It was also a great location. The bed was extremely hard which made our backs hurt until we used some decorative pillows the second night. If you stay on the 1st or 2nd floors, you will hear the guests above you with every step they take. If you are a light sleeper like me you will not be able to sleep well. The jets in the whirlpool tub appeared rusty so we did not use it. The tub is so deep so if you are shorter than 5'5", good luck stepping into it. I am that height and I was fearful of falling. There was lime build up on the bathroom faucet as well. The cheese and wine social hour was nice but they only had cheese spread. I was hoping for actual cheese being in Wisconsin! For our experience it was not worth the money we spent. We did have a fabulous time n Cedarburg though!

A well maintained historic building with modern amenities. Well appointed decor and special touches, All the staff were friendly and helpful. A great location to see the historic parts and shops of Cedarburg. The rooms with the exposed brick walls were very cool. Loved our one night stay there, would stay again if need to be in Cedarburg.

Rooms - Our room was extremely comfortable, the bed was more large enough for my tall husband and gave me room to stretch out as well. The hot tub felt wonderful after a day of shopping in Milwaukee and wine tasting. We have stayed in this room before but still a pleasure and very enjoyable. Service - Very friendly and even though the credit card machine had troubles when we left I had no doubt in my mind knowing that everything would be taken care of. Value - Because my husband and I come back year after year we knew what to expect, the price is always fair and we plan on returning again and again. Cleanliness - Exceptionally clean, it's like mom has been there! Dining - Breakfast is awesome! It is one of my favorite things about staying at the Washington House. The wine and cheese in the afternoon, just an added bonus and wonderful touch! Thank you again for another wonderful stay! See you next year!

a great place! The breakfast was better than most continental breakfasts at other locations.

Although some of the rooms can be rather small, the decorum and style of the building fit into the small town experience that we fell in love with! We opted for one of the suites that had a jacuzzi tub and living space, and high vaulted ceilings. The wonderful check-in host gave us suggestions for later evening dining, and the breakfast was worth staying at the b&b most of the morning. We will most definitely stay here again!

Our tow day stay was a joy for us. On arrival we were met by the friendly staff who were more than helpful. We forgot our toothbrushes and they were kind enough to gives us two from their supply closet in addition to letting us polish off a bottle of wine from the complimentary cheese and wine social that takes place every night. The guest house was charming and reminded me of England. The decor was not tacky or twee but very in-keeping with the tradition of the building. The room was superb; a great size, clean and warm. The sheets were unbelievable and it was a nice touch to be able to buy them. Most places have scratchy sheets but these were perfect. My wife and enjoyed the free dvd library and took advantage of the amenities. We would recommend the Anvil as the place to eat; cheap but delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. The gem of our time was the discovery of a micro brewery around the corner from the Inn. We went in and were met with a goldmine of a pub. We were there for an hour and when we left we were met with 4 inches of snow - a perfect night. All in all it was a great couple of days away. Reasonably priced, comfortable, pleasant, heartily recommended!

This was our first BB that hit everthing right on! The rooms were awsome, the town was charming and the the staff was very personable. Thumbs up!

We stayed at The Washington House for our anniversary!! We had 1 of the larger rooms that included two levels with large jacuzzi.The Inn is beautiful and takes you back to a lost era.The staff were all very welcoming and knowlegable about the area eateries,activities etc. Breakfast was wonderful as was the evening meet n greet with wine and cheese. We will definatly visit again.

We stayed in room 214 which was amazing. I did not want to leave. The fireplace and bathtub really provided a relaxing experience.

From the moment you arrive at the Washington House Inn you know it's going to be a wonderful experience. From the vintage decor to the friendly staff it's five star all the way. Be sure to attend the wine and cheese social in the evening, and sample some local wine and share your day's adventure with other guests. While they will bring breakfast to you in your room, I HIGHLY recommend having it in the gathering room, not only is the selection better, but it adds to the experience. The breakfast is all home made right there in the kitchen and is just like grandma used to make!

My wife and I stay in Cedarburg at least once a year and alway look forward to staying at the Washington House in. The Wine and cheese hour is a great way to start the weekend. The rooms and beds are wonderful and the morning breakfast is something to look forward to. We will be coming for many more years to come!

Excellent wine bar in the early evening. Unbelievable home made breakfast "goodies". Fresh squeezed juices, pastries to die for, and a "hot breakfast ham & cheese bake" that exploded with taste.... New Berlin, WI

This was our second stay at the Washington Inn. We bought a nice package thru living social that included movie tickets, winery tour and a gourmet taffy apple. The movie tickets and winery tour tickets do not expire so we will be using those during a future visit as I am sure we will return. We love the wine and cheese tasting hour and their breakfast is always like going to Grandma's after church. My on wish is that they would offer a vegetarian egg dish. Always an enjoyable and relaxing experience.

Second stay for us. The first stay we used a Groupon and enjoyed it enough to come back. Enjoyed the wine & cheese evening and the unusually good dining room breakfast in the morning. Plus, our room on the lower floor had an exit on one side that led outside to within a few steps of the dining area, and an exit on the other side to the parking and street areas. Very cozy, very happy.

As we drove away from the Washington House Inn, my wife started to fill out the Inn's comment card and asked me about the first item. I interrupted her and said "just rate every category Excellent". That's the best way to describe our stay at the Washington House Inn: "excellent in every way".

This was a great Bed &Breakfast, perfect location in town and very quiet. We didnt know how many people were staying at the Inn until we went down for breakfast. We stayed in the Fred Asche room and loved it. It was very cozy and the bed was very comfortable. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back.

This is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast and we are always excited to come back.

Our stay at Washington House Inn was wonderful. The sleep experience was relaxing and comfy! We enjoyed the cheese and wine tasting while meeting other couples. The breakfast was great! There was so many choices and everything was delicious!

we have stayed at the washington house, a bunch of times, and will continue to do so, but.......when we came down for breakfast at approx. 9:30, any hot food that had been served was gone, and no one offered to make more. also, when we walked back through the lobby an hour or so, later, many of the staff were sitting in the dining room eating what i think should have been my breakfast.

We regret that we ran out of a breakfast item prior to the end of our breakfast service.We do hope you enjoyed the other selections on our "expanded continental breakfast buffet" that morning. Those included: Banana Cake, Crumb Cake, Maple Scones, Cranberry Scones, yogurts, organic hard boiled eggs, fresh strawberries and pineapple, a selection of artisan breads for toasting, an assortment of cereals, and granolas, fresh squeezed orange juice, as well as tomato and cranberry juice, and of course our coffee and tea choices. We do extend an invitation to our staff to enjoy any items that remain after our guests have been served, and our breakfast (7AM-10AM) ends. We are delighted you have stayed with us prior to your past visit, and plan to stay with us again in the future. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We have stayed here many times and will keep returning this is the perfect location for a weekend getaway.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful night at the Washington House Inn. The best part was we got upgraded to one of their suites for no extra charge! The room was fantastic, and once we were checked in we didn't want to leave. It was a very refreshing and romantic get-away for us.

The Washington House Inn was a tremendous place to get-away and celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.

The room was great! My husband and I enjoyed our time here. The room wasn't as clean as I had hoped with the glassware in the room appearing dirty.

We have stayed at the Washington House Inn, in various rooms, on several occasions. Each of our stays have exceeded our expectations. The evening reception and morning continental breakfast are wonderful! Staying over Christmas while visiting family has become a family tradition and we would never consider staying anywhere else.
