    Exit from airport on Highway 5, pick up I-35E and follow it north from Minneapolis to Duluth, MN. Exit east on US 2. Follow 2 to its intersection with US 13 west of Ashland, WI. Take 13 north about 17 miles to where it meets Hatchery Road, south of Bayfield. Bear left on Hatchery and go to the first driveway on the right, fire number 84100, turn right and follow driveway to the house.

    • Our signature dish is Dutch Baby
      Batter of eggs, milk and flour is added to a cast-iron skillet and baked for about 28 minutes, creating a "puffed-up" pancake. Served with fresh fruit--strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, nectarines in season--or with frozen berries from the summer harvest, or the best available fresh fruit, in the off season. Pure maple syrup and powdered sugar also are served to enhance this dish.

    • We cannot accommodate guest pets (Generally no pets accepted; will discuss special situations)

    • Consumption of alcohol is permitted (Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages)
    • Deposit amount required (For a 1-night stay, 50% of the rate, by check. For all other stays, a check in the amount of the first night's stay.)
    • Closed: May be closed late March/early April
    • Check in time is after 3 p.m. and Check out time is by 11 a.m.
    • Cancellations:
      Deposit is refunded in full if the cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to the date of stay. For cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the date of stay, the deposit is refunded as a gift certificate.

    A partial view of the Green Room and its 2-person jacuzzi--a favorite for romantic getaways.The Grey Room, the most contemporary, is a spacious 16x20, identical to the other 3 rooms.
    From the balcony, you see a conversation area and part of the deck that circles the house.The dining area and great room, with its 3 conversation areas and a wood-burning fireplace.
