Maureen was very friendly and nice. When we went to our room there was half a pot of cold coffee from previous people and one cup.. The back massage in the shower was broken and could not be used. The advertised whirlpool was the bottom of a shower with a door not really suited for adults. There was a noise in the wall that kept me up most of the night. Only one chair in the room for two people.. Breakfast was not as described. Pastries were a few slices of coffee cake, some fruit and small egg dishes. For over 200 dollars Ive had better breakfasts of biscuits and gravy, waffles, bagels, cereal etc complementary at hotels for less than 100 a night. Would not go back!!!
Thank You for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry you were not happy with your visit to the inn. When you were here you seemed happy with everything. I have called you today to reach out to you to offer you a complimentary visit to the inn. I hope to hear from you soon, although there is not a time limit on the offer to stay at no charge. We did have a real nice visit at breakfast. I was so surprised you were so unhappy with the breakfast. I could have prepared anything you asked for at the time. I would like to add a response to some of your other issues. I'm sorry about the coffee pot issue. I had a guest in that room the night before who checked out late from your room. In my haste in completing all the cleaning I failed to go over my daily checklist before your early arrival. The whirlpool is a standard size whirlpool and standard size door within the elaborate bathing system that is shown on the website. The massage system was not broken. I pointed it out to you that I had recently changed the caulk and mentioned that I would prefer if you did not use the back massage because of a possible leak. So sorry about the single chair in your room. I hoped you would have relaxed in the dining room or the sitting area. I am unaware of any sound in the wall. The rooms are occupied quite often and this is the first time I have heard this. I suspect it was something that I was unaware of. I was home through the day and evening and hoped you would have told me about the noise. The breakfast buffet I served you was 2 egg souffle each, 7 different fruits served individually so you could choose your favorite, yogurt, nuts and a larger tray of pastries consisting of three different types of specialty breads and homemade pastries, choice of juices and coffee . All the food we prepare at the inn is homemade and baked from scratch. The many choices of fruits are always organic. I was unable to serve the asparagus as I usually do because it was unavailable at the three markets I shop at. I always cook from scratch in our kitchen and ovens. Also, we never serve pre-prepared food items like frozen waffles, pancakes and biscuits with gravy. When you make your date to come for your complimentary stay, I will prepare what you request at the time you make your reservation. While you were here you seemed happy with your stay. Next time you return for your complimentary visit I will give you the Belle Marie room which has a king size bed and the huge whirlpool with the separate marble spa shower. That room has a fireplace, television and movie player as well. I am sure you both will be very happy . Talk to you soon. 262-248-1097 Take Care, Maureen

The room was spotlessly clean and breakfast was delicious. Would have liked a common seating area, though.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review of the inn. Please tell me more about a common seating area you would of liked to enjoy at the inn. I'm not quite sure what you meant. Maybe I can improve on that idea. Thank You for your suggestion. Talk to you soon. Maureen

There was no onsite dining, but we found a great place to eat less than a block away. The room was clean and comfortable and had lots of blankets and pillows, the fireplace was a nice touch but the room seemed to be the perfect temprature. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot and hard. Breakfast was great and the innkeeper was very friendly and chatty. It was peaceful and quiet which was very nice. We would definitely visit again. My wife and I had a very nice time here and really enjoyed our stay.
I'm happy to hear you had such an enjoyable time on your getaway to the Inn. The weather has been great this year, chilly during the week but a nice warm-up each weekend. What Fun! The fact that the Tuscan Bar & Grill is only 1/2 block East is marvelous. Most of the guests enjoy at least one dinner during their stay at my favorite place to eat away from home. A super place to relax with a short stroll back to the Inn. It was fun telling you about all the places that you wanted to see in the town. After your next visit , you will feel like the Inn is your own second home. See you next time. Take Care, Maureen

Came up here with my girlfriend for a one night getaway. The inn is of very cool construction from the 1800's, and Maureen (the proprietor) was an absolute delight who continues to keep the inn in great shape. We spent a lot of time talking and getting to know more about Lake Geneva while enjoying the myriad artwork and decorations throughout the space. The William and Mary Room we stayed in had an awesome steam shower, plus a sweet, old Victorian style tub. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use the tub or whirlpool due to an issue with the water heater, but she's been having some work done on it. Before we checked out, Maureen cooked us a delicious breakfast with a full fruit spread, then gave us some deals to local spots to check out before we left. All in all, it was a lovely experience and we would love to stay here again.
Anyway I'm glad the steam bath work well for you. Of course, like you said , now you will always want a steam bath. No more baths. The plumbers came on Monday, found and removed the little tiny stones that were blocking the filter on the hot water for the whirlpool. They put in a variation of a separate clean out so I can check myself on a regular weekly basis so the little stones or sand don't clogged the filter. As you can see I'm still learning new ideas of providing great service even after 30 years at innkeeping . The next time you both come to the inn, I am upgrading you to the Belle Marie room so you can go swimming in the enormous whirlpool in that suite. I hope you use all those Groupon certificates I gave you for the Milwaukee area As you said, see you very soon. Take care, Maureen

The items in this home are amazing, a beautiful collection! The room William and Mary room was tremendous!! The barroom shower state of art with the charm of the claw foot rub- the owner pays so much attention to detail!! Everything you could want ice bucket with other accessories and coffee maker extra bathroom and bedroom linens provided all in the room!!!
I love to hear that my guests love all the historical items at the Inn from the man's collar box and stays to the linen sheets and pillowcases. How marvelous it would be if we could really return to owning the finer things in life rather than polyester. OK! LOL Actually I'd have trouble getting all the linens pressed since I do not own a mangle. Many of the guests would not know what job a mangle actually does.See you again soon. Maureen
