At General Boyds Bed and Breakfast, the ambience of the house is casual country elegance. Our massive fireplace in the center of the 45 foot long living room is a special area to snuggle and dream -- winter and summer. The library end of the room is filled with a collection of familiar old favorites. A versatile collection of art and hardwood floor throughout the house provide an aire of relaxation. Rolling hills surround this lovely historic home and the classic timber-pegged barns. The five acres are shrouded with greenery dominated by native white oaks. A collection of at least 20 tree varieties have been planted by a succession of the General's descendants. Perennial gardens along with a field of wild flowers abound for your enjoyment. Geneva Lake's shore path is a short walk away and downtown Lake Geneva's cultural offerings and eateries are just a 5 minute drive.

This place was very cozy and charming. I really enjoyed the "homey" feeling that this place offered. And the innkeepers were fantastic. Very friendly, inviting and welcoming. And breakfast was DELICIOUS!! I was taken here for my birthday and will most DEFINITELY be back!!

I did a girl's weekend with a friend last weekend. I can't say enough about my experience at General Boy'd's. The B&B was cute and decorated with lots of antiques and artwork. Bob, one of the owners explained that the artwork was created by family members. The room was small, but nicely appointed and very clean. I had made the reservation at the last minute, so this room was the only one left. There is a large living and dining room on the first floor that was welcoming and very cozy. The owners wer very attentive to our needs. We asked about a cab to take us to dinner. The owner drove us to town! My friend is a marathon runner and wanted to go for a run in the morning. When we got home after dinner, waiting for us was a fully high-lighted map that showed the route. Breakfast was outstanding with several platters of fresh fruit, an egg strata, apple dessert, and bacon. We were also given fresh, warm scones. I didn't eat for hours! The inn and inn-keepers were a delight. I'll certainly be back.

This was a great place to start our vacation. The old Farm House and its Inkeepers are everything you could ask for in a B&B. Our arrival greeting was warm and friendly with a tour of the home, and the morning breakfast was absolutely the best. The home is very warm and comfortable and well decorated with period furnishings. You can relax in your room or in the fireplace room. We would recommend this B&B to everyone!
