My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Token Creek Eco-Inn. Jean and Jason were wonderful hosts, and were very accommodating in helping us book our stay last minute. The breakfast was outstanding and the house/grounds were fantastic. My wife and I have stayed at dozens of bed and breakfasts, and she said this was the cleanest one we have ever stayed at (which means a lot coming from her, as she is very picky about cleanliness). We would highly recommend staying here!

We had a truly wonderful experience at Token Creek! The owners are wonderfully accommodating and the location is very peaceful/relaxing. To find a B&B that was knowledgable regarding the ins and outs of gluten free dining was such a relief. It was a real treat to be able to fully enjoy our stay without worrying about the safety of food prep/ingredients. Jean was very thorough and checked every ingredient which was so helpful!
Thank you Liz for your kind review! I really enjoy cooking for people with special food needs - since I have so many dietary restrictions myself I know how hard it can be to find safe food away from home. We really enjoyed having you and Andrew stay with us for your wedding anniversary and hope to see you again someday!

My wife and I were in Madison for a weekend away and had the pleasure of finding this B&B online. Over a hyper-local and delicious breakfast the conversation with the owners and other guests was very interesting. In fact, if we didn't have to get back home we could have sat at there much longer. I would highly recommend Token Creek if you're in the Madison area. It's very close, but gets you out of all the noise and chaos of the city.

My wife and I recently visited our daughter at UW-Madison. Jean and Jason were great hosts. Great room, delicious breakfasts, and beautiful grounds. We hope to return.

After a busy early fall with our son getting married and my 50th birthday, my husband and I wanted to take a mini vacation to WI for a B&B adventure and visiting local mircrobreweries. Token Creek Eco Inn won our business b/c of their Arts and Crafts decor and commitment to preservation of the land. Jean provided us with a wonderful experience. Our room was perfect. The bed was so comfortable that we were able to sleep in each morning! Jean made us sinfully delicious and healthy breakfasts and we learned a lot about the sustainability of the local organic farmer. We highly recommend staying here and we'll be back!

My husband and I stayed here just after dropping our son off at college for his freshman year. It was very peaceful, beautiful, very close to a fabulous restaurant for dinner, and a really nice place to relax and re-charge. Breakfast was especially wonderful. Also--and I know this is important--everything is really clean and organized. Jean, the innkeeper, is terrific, too. I highly recommend the TCE-Inn!

Our second stay was just as perfect as the first. We feel comfortable there because of the quiet, the huge vista, the furnishings, and the host. Jean can give you the scoop on anything, but does not intrude. We can be downtown in 20 minutes, yet feel as countrified as we like. Having farm animals on site is a plus. Good, inexpensive restaurants are nearby (Sun Prarie), and there is a great nature walk available at Token Creek. Jean's place is as comfortable as an old easy chair.

The B&B was exceptional in the decor, nice clean lines. The "outside of the city" just minutes away from so much to do in Madison and the surrounding area. It was quiet, restful and get listening to their chickens "sing" happily. The breakfast on our two day stay were so enjoyable we wanted to linger. We met delightful people from New York and Canada. The food was excellent and Jean and Jason were able to serve me tasteful gluten free food. The eggs were from their organically feed chickens and have spoiled us about what kind of eggs we want to eat. We stayed in the capitol room, the views were breathtaking, the whirlpool a great way to relax. Jean and Jason are warm inviting sincere hosts. We will be back to enjoy the wine, food, chocolate, atmosphere and hospitality. Lill and Herb

My wife and I stayed at Token Creek while attending a friend's wedding in Madison. The physical setting is amazing - well decorated house, comfy bed, and a developing homestead with rabbits/chickens/bees. Better, though, was the company over breakfast. Over frittatas, salad, muffins, and tea we chatted with the owners and other guests for more than two hours. The Eco-Inn seems to bring in people that intrinsically get along with each other, and that is something I haven't experienced at a B&B before. Would definitely visit again if I was in the area.

I recently stayed for two nights while on a trip through Wisconsin and Illinois. The setting was so beautiful, and I truly enjoyed the rabbits and chickens (especially the eggs for breakfast)! Jean and Jason were quite gracious in modifying their menus to accommodate some dietary restrictions, without any loss in flavor!

We recently spent two nights at the Token Creek Eco Inn during a weekend "beer and cheese tour" of Wisconsin. The location of the Inn was perfect - quiet and remote, with gorgeous farmscapes and clear skies for stargazing, while being just a short (scenic) drive to Madison. Jean and Jason were wonderful hosts, and we really enjoyed getting to know them over breakfast. They gave great advice on where to go while were in Wisconsin - One Barrel Brewery and Tex Tubbs' Taco Palace were favorites. The Inn was incredibly comfortable and home-y feeling. We loved the little extra touches, like local chocolates, homemade wine and cookies, DVDs, and eggs fresh from their chickens. It was also nice to be surrounded by like-minded people who could enjoy delicious local and organic foods while discussing the importance of community - relaxing and stimulating at the same time! Many thanks for our weekend getaway! Sarah and Brian

Wow, this was the idyllic Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast. I think everything is organic and/or fair trade at this wonderful inn. The sheets on the best were like 2 million thread count and the pillows were just the right size. Jean (the proprietor) was great: as a host, a cook and a tour guide. I love the fact that we ate fresh eggs from the chicken flock and that were laid the day before. Breakfast wasn't a small casserole with some coffee (like I have experienced at another B&B)- no- I stuffed myself with so much food that I did not have to eat until 5pm that evening. Jean cooked perfect soft boiled eggs and had the neatest egg cutter to maximize the enjoyment. I enjoyed drinking the (complimentary) homemade wine and loved how Eco-friendly this bed & breakfast was! We will be back and spreading the word about this fabulous Inn.

Jean and Jason were wonderful hosts; recommending wonderful restaurants and sights. The inn is quiet, comfortable, and clean. Fantastic breakfast and inviting atmosphere. I look forward to the next stay.

We came to town for a wedding and stayed two nights with Jean and Jason. They were exceptionally helpful in instructions for arrival, offering to help with bags, introducing the various amenities and getting us settled and comfortable. The rooms are immaculate and fresh. It is a very well kept inn. The eco-friendly atmosphere makes it all that much more enjoyable - knowing that the food, beverages and surrounding are all done with the freshest, most tasteful and thoughtful ecology in mind. I could go on and on about the breakfasts - so fabulous and good for you too - the great room with cozy reading light and quiet nature - the great coffee and tea selections - the home-made wines, beers and cookies - the local area running opportunities and conservancy hiking - the mini-farm animals and solitude of the inn... It all adds up to a great stay, but, most of all, the conversation and privacy the innkeepers provide is just the right balance of contact. We really LOVED our breakfast chats and look forward to a return trip very soon!

We stayed at the Capitol Room for 2 nights and everything was amazing: The huge bed, the whirlpool tub, the view, the chickens and the eggs that we collected, the very quite and peaceful atmosphere --- and especially the hosts. Jean's breakfast was incredible on both of the days and the coffee was so delicious. We spend our days in the garden, on the porch in the sun and in the beautiful nature surrounding the B&B. It was the perfect escape from the city.

On our resent trip from NY to Seattle my wife and I passed Madison. We were lucky and chose Token Creek Eco-Inn for overnight stay. It was a very nice and comfortable accommodation. The rooms were nice and everything was clean and fresh. The breakfast was wonderful! Jean and her husband Jason was very friendly and gave us valuable tips for our onward journey to among other places Yellowstone and Glacier Park.

I was very pleased with our stay at the Token Creek Eco-Inn. I loved the country atmosphere and the wonderful food. The coffee was great too, which I feel is a must for a Bed and Breakfast. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. We had friends staying with us from out of state and I believe they were impressed with the Mid-western hospitality Jean and Jason showed us.

Had a great stay at the Eco-Inn. My girlfriend and I both have food allergies to gluten and nuts. Jean made an amazing breakfast around our diets. Great conversation at the table. Loved the chickens. We'll be coming back soon to enjoy more of the area. AK&MK

We very much enjoyed the comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful atmosphere. Jean and Jason were very accomodating and great hosts. The nearby nature trails along with the close proximity to Madison were a perfect blend for us.

We have stayed at Token Creek Inn two times. Both times we have rally enjoyed our experience. The food is delicious and filling. We loved our room (The Springs Room) and we were able to sleep very soundly. Both Jean and Jason are very helpful and welcoming without being overbearing. We definitely plan on coming back and would highly recommend it.

The Token-Creek Eco-Inn is truly a delightful bed and breakfast. Often what you give up in a traditional B&B is space and modern amenities. This is NOT the case at the Token Creek Eco-Inn. The rooms are spacious, modern, and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are all new and fresh as well. The rural setting is beautiful, but the room felt like a first class hotel room. We loved being able to help support the local farmers and artisans in the community. Jean and Jason have created a very special place right- such an easy drive to downtown Madison too!

I'm so glad my wife and I found Token Creek Eco-Inn. What a wonderful setting for a B&B. The quiet country setting is a great getaway while being within 15 minutes of downtown Madison. Jean and Jason were wonderful hosts who made you feel welcome. They gave recommendations and created amazing homemade breakfasts each morning. The Eco-Inn was very inviting and comfortable. Plus, I loved the chickens!

Anyone visiting the Madison area should stay at the Token Creek Eco-Inn. Innkeepers Jean and Jason have created amazing accommodations that feature all the modern luxuries of any first-rate hotel, but with an environmental commitment to minimizing their (and your, dear traveler) carbon footprint. Favorite aspects of the Eco-Inn include, but are not limited to: delectable homemade breakfasts and afternoon cookies; Jason's complimentary selection of local beer and homemade wine; extremely comfortable bedding; access to nice deck and living room; other great guests; and, above all, the innkeepers themselves, and the quiet, serene environment that is only 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Madison. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if I find myself back in the Madison area. We loved feeding the chickens and eating their eggs in the morning.

The beautiful Token Creek Eco-Inn is everything we've ever wanted in a B&B. As young city folks who love to travel but hate cold, corporate hotels, we've always looked for warm, homey spots to meet good people and have a more personalized stay. What we don't love is the feeling of staying in a room our grandmother's would love- flowers and pink and kitsch from floor to ceiling. What is so special about Token Creek Eco-Inn is that it is incredibly charming and beautiful- with a modern, sophisticated, and comfortable style. It is the perfect combination of country and city- and that's just the house itself. The big wooden deck, gardens and land are spacious, colorful, and perfect for lounging around on a hammock or rocking chair and for exploring. The resident hens not only make you feel like you're far away from city life (though you're only a ten minute drive from downtown Madison) but they also ensure some of the BEST breakfasts we've ever had at a B&B. Fresh, super local (like, outside your window), savory, nutritious, conscientious, and heavenly- it took quite a bit of willpower not to lick our plates when we were through. Plus, fresh baked cookies and muffins awaited us each night. Jean & Jason were phenomenal hosts- offering us tips and insight as we planned our weekend. From new restaurants to try, to our day spent kayaking on Lake Wingra, their knowledge about and love for the Madison area helped us to have one of our best weekends away yet. The only reason we didn't give a full 5 stars for the room had nothing to do with the quality of ours- we stayed in the Springs Room and it was impeccably designed and very comfortable- but one of us is very tall and, after seeing the Capital Room (the most spacious room at the Inn) we determined that it is a better fit for us next time. We are already telling all of our friends and family about Token Creek, and cannot wait to return!

I am so glad I found this place. I only stayed for one night, and in the smallest room, but it was perfect. Very clean and comfortable, the shower was terrific, and there were friendly chickens right outside my window. Jean and Jason made me a simple breakfast (my request, normally they do the full deal) and we had a fun talk before I had to go. I also got to try some of the fresh eggs from their chickens, soft-boiled, which is apparently something few people know how to do, or how to do well. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Madison for sure.

My young adult daughter and I were looking for a place to spend a relaxing evening, just the two of us. We had a lovely evening, with our own picnic on the deck and chat time in the huge hammock. It's much closer to Madison than I imagined, so I'd recommend it to anyone coming to this area!
5 on June 13, 2012
The rooms were quite nice and very comfortable, the property and setting just lovely and the innkeepers could not have been nicer or more welcoming. In addition, the breakfasts were absolutely delicious.

My fiancé and I have stayed at the Token Creek Eco Inn a few times together and it is always a treat! Jean makes incredibly scrumptious breakfasts every morning (including our favorite: Eggs Benedict!) the rooms are always clean and well stocked with fresh room temperature water and organic bath salts. When you come in, you are greeted by the smell of some fresh baked cookies sitting on a plate for you. The environment is quiet and peaceful. Overall, we love it and all of things have made my fiancé and I joke about just moving in, as we enjoy it so much. A perfect retreat anytime of the year!

I think the last time i was at a bed and breakfast was when i was a child, but not to long ago my wife and i spent our wedding night at the Eco Inn! I can tell you that it was nothing less than amazing! Jean and her husband Jason did a wonderful job. From the reservations to the end! They are great people and amazing cooks!!! I can asure you that your time spent at the Eco Inn will be Great!

Jean & Jason run a truly excellent bed & breakfast in a suburb of Madison. The house decor is gorgeous -- lots of beautiful locally obtained woods, with on-site gardens and free-range chickens! When we arrived in the evening, both Jean & Jason were there to greet us -- and had even prepared some coconut-dark-chocolate-chip cookies for us! They generously shared a history of the house, and the philosophy of their business with us, before retiring to their separate quarters and leaving us with an amazing kitchen, Jason's home-made wine collection, and a plethora of books & DVD's to enjoy a romantic evening together. The breakfast Jean cooked for us was a masterpiece -- complete with a locally grown salad (delicious fresh asparagus & arugula!), blueberry french toast with maple rum sauce, soft boiled eggs, and fresh organic coffee -- locally roasted. We went trail running in the morning at the near-by Token Creek county park, which was absolutely lovely. All in all, HIGHLY recommended, a true gem. We hope we will have an opportunity to return in the near future!

My wife and I spent last weekend at the Eco-Inn, and we were simply amazed by the facilities and service. A key days later, we're both still talking about the breakfasts. Jean and Jason made a us two phenomenal meals where over 95% of the ingredients were locally-sourced- including the peach sauce that we put on our pancakes. As an added bonus guests were welcome to a mini-fridge was stocked with delicious fruit wine that was made by Jean and Jason. ...there were also freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies waiting for us when we returned in the evening. The rooms were very nice, as the house is recently renovated. Everything is very nicely decorated with an eclectic mix of country and modern. We were a bit concerned with the location, as we had things to do in downtown Madison, but it turned out not to be a concern at all. Even with some crazy construction going on, we were able to get from the B&B to downtown in roughly 15 minutes. All in all, it was an amazing stay and we can't wait to go back.

If the need for lodging in Wisconsin ever arises again, without question I will be booking a room at Token Creek Eco-Inn. Not only do you get to soak up the serenity of the property, but you're supporting local business owners who are making responsible decisions regarding the environment AND their guests' health (ask them about the beds you sleep on!). The location is JUST outside of the busy Madison center, meaning sleep is peaceful without having a long drive for activity or entertainment during the day. Jean's breakfast is divine AND pricing is comparable to many of the Madison hotels, so there really is no reason not to choose Token Creek for your Madison adventure.

Stayed at Token Creek Eco_Inn last weekend and loved our stay there. Jean and Jason are perfect hosts, they've thought of everything they can to make you feel both spoiled and at home. Jean is a great cook, do not skip breakfast! Their place is beautifully designed to live well, no clutter, everything warm and inviting, little luxuries to help you feel taken care of (guest fridge, robes, softest bedding ever, movies, books, etc.). My husband and I hope to make it back there, hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I've just returned from a 5 night stay at Token Creek. Without sounding overwrought, it's hard to say how much I enjoyed my time with Jean, Jason, Curry, Mimi, and Jinx. I felt very much at home and enjoyed learning sustainability, bees, chickens, and a number of other things. The food ws wonderful and I'm missing it this morning. Jean and Jason live the kind of life in their care for the earth and its creatures but one which most of us won't because we cannot or will no take the time to learn. They're also fun and are the kind of folks I wish all my relatives were. Thanks, I'll be back.

I was absolutely blown away by the Token Creek Inn. It lies in some absolutely gorgeous Wisconsin countryside and is only 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Madison. We stayed in the Capitol room for 2 wonderful nights, and it was so relaxing. At night there is not even a sound, it is just blissful silence. The breakfast was phenomenal. Jean and Jason are very accommodating to dietary needs. If you are vegetarian or gluten intolerant, she will whip up the most delicious gluten-free pumpkin french toast you have ever had. They have extremely fresh food ,everything from either their garden or from Dane county because they have amazing farmer's markets. Anyway, the food is simple and filling so that you do not even need a lunch. My favorite was the omelet, 2 yr old cheddar, fresh garden asparagus, and eggs from the chickens collected same day....mmmhhhm. And my fiancee, who is just the pickiest coffee nut, said that the coffee was delicious, and looked forward to it the next morning. Which is very rare. Jean and Jason know a lot about the area and can easily direct you to good restaurants, kayaking, hiking, or more. They even send you off with a map. They are also considerate of private time and space, if you like to converse with them, they are so friendly and interesting, but they also don't bother you if you spend all day in the room. And to top it off, everything they engage in is environmentally conscious, and they are so nice and like explaining all the great ecofeatures of the house and your food!! I honestly could not say enough about the people behind the Inn or the Inn and food itself. I do not have anything I would change. Perfect. I cannot tell you how much my fiancee and I needed a break, and it was absolutely perfect. We are already planning a return, and mostly for just the Token creek eco inn.

This inn is a relaxing and beautiful retreat in a country setting. It offers great opportunities both inside and out to unwind. You can enjoy the peacefulness of the inn's setting and at the same time be minutes away from urban Madison. The rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. Innkeepers, Jean and Jason are friendly and accomodating. They are very helpful in providing information on area activities/events along directions to their guests. The breakfast offers a variety of fresh, organically grown food. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely reccommend this B&B to others. Tim and Chris

From the beginning to the end of our stay, Jason and Jean were warm, gracious, helpful and everything one would hope to find in an inn-keeper. From the time we stepped through their door, we truly felt that their charming home was ours. We stayed in the Springs Room and found it peaceful. The mattress was perfect, the love seat comfortable and the bathroom was fresh, clean and accommodating. The breakfasts were fresh, delicious and creative. Of the many bed and breakfast stays we have had, this was our first "eco-friendly" one. It will be difficult to find another stay as special as this was. Kevin and Annie

We stayed here over Memorial day weekend for 3 nights in the Capital Room. The room is beautiful, the bed super comfortable, the decor wonderfully tasteful with lovely earth tones. Almost everything in the place is eco-friendly, including the indulgent organic towels and robes in the room. The grounds are peaceful with 2 hammocks, several outdoor seating options, the resident chickens, cats, and the numerous native birds that sing so beautifully every morning. The proximity to Madison is perfect, just a 10 minute drive to the Capital. The best part of this B&B is by far the amazing hosts. Jean and Jason are the most welcoming, accommodating, easy going B&B owners we have ever encountered. They are so willing and wanting to help you have a wonderful time. Jean cooks fantastic breakfasts from organic, local, sustainable sources, and graciously accommodates any dietary specifications. She is really amazing. Jason makes his own wine and is more than happy to share it...and it's quite good! The pair make you fell so welcomed and want to cater to your every need in a non fussy way. Overall, this may have been one of the best places we've been. I can't say enough about how relaxed and comfortable we felt here. I would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling in the Madison area. We drove up from Chicago and it felt like we were a million miles away. I can't wait to return.
