Awarded Top 10 US B&B and Best of Madison Gold Medal. Allow us to welcome you to our beautiful, full log, 44-acre home and passion, Prevailing Winds Lodge Bed and Breakfast. PWL offers an unparalleled experience in guest comfort, relaxing areas to retreat, indoor and outdoor activities, and an overall sense of peace and much needed escape. PWL was built in 1996 with great attention to fine detail. Genius was the craftsman who forged the lodge to include stunning design and character. Features such as reclaimed wood countertops, a 30-foot field stone fireplace, a handcrafted moose and elk antler chandelier, a Michael Feeney carved dragon, and full chinking between every log leave you longing for the next subtlety and its story.

Our family had a wonderful overnight visit at Prevailing Winds B&B. The bed and breakfast is a true log structure and is beautifully decorated inside and out. The owners Steve and Jen have invested in some very nice and high end features. Their hospitality was wonderful and they paid great attention to detail for their guest's comfort. Our children said they were going to barricade themselves in their room and not leave. My wife and I felt the same wanting to spend the remainder of a rainy day in the comfort of the bed and breakfast. Breakfast was a special treat with fresh juice, double cut bacon and homemade French toast with berries, granola and yogurt. We would love to return. They truly offer a special paradise.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in early March and we couldn't have been more impressed! The atmosphere was soothing and relaxing, and Steve was a very personable and friendly host (we were unable to meet Jen during our time there). The accommodations were everything we expected and then some. They were even willing to alter the breakfast schedule one day to accommodate an early activity we needed to attend. I would highly recommend anyone to Prevailing Winds and look forward to our return visit!

Our stay at Prevailing Winds Lodge was the weekend getaway that we needed to relax and take a break. The hospitality of our hosts and the attention to little details was so appreciated and made us feel like we were visiting family not staying somewhere for the first time. The breakfasts were out of this world (loved the blueberry french toast) we never left the breakfast table hungry. The lodge is beautiful and the room was perfect. We can't wait to go back to stay again. Thank you.

Prevailing Winds Lodge was more than my husband and I could have imagined. This bed and breakfast was a dream. From the minute you drive onto the property, you're whisked away from the stress and worries. The lodge is tucked back, secluded by nature. We were warmly greeted by Michelle, the owner's cousin, who gave us the rundown and wonderful recommendations for dinner. The room was impeccable and so cozy. And the bed was literally the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We were the only couple, so we spent the evening by the fire, pretending the house was ours. Breakfast the next morning was amazing but the company was even better. Steve, one of the owners, treated us as if we had been old friends. One night was not long enough but we know we'll be spending plenty of time at the Prevailing Winds Lodge.

We had a wonderful 2nd stay at your lodge on Valentines day evening. We were greeted by a roaring fire in the huge stone fireplace on a bone chilling below zero night and immediately tried some of the chef and owner Steve's delicious fresh cookies that were available as we relaxed to watch a movie. You are not going to find better hospitality or service than what we experienced at this beautiful facility. The breakfast on Sunday morning was awesome (red velvet pancakes with homemade syrup/frosting ,specialty bacon, three kinds of berries, granola ,yogurt and two kinds of fresh juice). Steve is truly an accomplished chef. I would highly recommend this B and B to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing stay in a gorgeous country setting.

Prevailing Winds Lodge B&B has to be one of the finest accommodations my wife and I have spent time at. Being owners of vacation rental properties ourselves, we feel that we know what it takes to make guests happy, but PWL goes way beyond all expectations. The lodge is impeccable with no attention to detail spared. Although we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Jennifer, Steve more than made up for it with great conversation and assistance. The breakfasts prepared by Steve were world class. Our daughter and son-in-law are moving to the area and we couldn't be happier because it will give us many more chances to visit Prevailing Winds. 5 Star Plus by any standards! Mike & Joy

We did a winter stay at the lodge. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and a dish of wonderful coookies. We were given a tour and some history about the lodge. Then shown our rooms which were beautiful. The entire lodge is very beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was delish! I would highly recommend this lodge for your next stay in the Madison area.

Prevailing Winds Lodge is a favorite place for my husband and I to go for a getaway. We have visited 3 times and every visit seems to be better than the last. The overall ambiance is warm and welcoming. Jen and Steve are so awesome and make you feel right at home. The beds are so comfortable it feels like you are sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast is out of this world incredible. Every time we have breakfast our biggest complaint is we wish we had bigger stomachs to eat more! The eggs are fresh from their chickens and Jen and Steve are conscious of where the food comes from. I love everything about this place, and can't wait for our next stay!
