My husband and I spent four nights at the Jackson Rose over the Fourth of July. Deb and Phil were gracious and welcoming - but gave us our space to come and go and do as we pleased. It was refreshing to return from our touring each day to a cool and comfortable room. Deb's breakfasts were absolutely delicious - and we enjoyed something different every morning. Much of what she served included fruit from their own yard and ingredients from local farms. The last afternoon we were there, we came back from a long, difficult hike to fresh baked molasses cookies and home made lemonade. We highly recommend the Jackson Rose and will be back to enjoy it again!

We are a retired career military couple who travel extensively and prefer to lodge in B & Bs. As history buffs--teacher and writer--to spend the night in the very room where Stonewall Jackson penned letters to his wife meant stepping back in time. The on-site hosts, Deborah and Phillip, made our brief stay in Harper's Ferry memorable as well. Without hesitation we recommend the Jackson Rose. Texas Travelers

Lovely home.Warm welcome from perfect hosts. There were lots of reading materials about the home and the area which is steeped in history dating back to George Washington. Breakfast was delicious and I would recommend this B & B to all! 12/28/11

If you are going to Harpers Ferry for a historic tour, this is the place to stay. Absolutely gorgeouse decor. The food was excellent and the extra little bits of hospitality like the lemonad and cookies sin the afternoon and the cd they offered to lend us on our trip to Antietam just added to the overall experience. Wonderful hosts. Good location and beautiful rooms.

We enjoyed the Jackson Rose, where Stonewall Jackson spent time during the Civil war. A lot of history there and in Harper's Ferry.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at The Jackson Rose in April 2008. We wanted to visit Harpers Ferry and the surrounding Civil War battlefields, including Antietam. Our stay was wonderful and we are so glad we found this B&B listed in the book _1,000 Places To See Before You Die (USA)_. It turned out to be a perfect, restful home base for us. What a special treat to stay in the same lovely room used by Stonewall Jackson and mentioned in his own writings! Our charming young hosts were warm and very friendly -- yet at the same time, totally unobtrusive and allowed my husband and me plenty of privacy to relax and reconnect. They really know what they’re doing and get all those small details right that set a truly great B&B apart from all the others: from greeting these weary travelers with a late snack, to the delicious full breakfasts in front of the fire with soft music, to the super plush towels, and so much more. Having stayed at other historical B&B’s, we were especially pleased with the Jackson Rose’s modern amenities and impeccable cleanliness. For less than the price of many standard “cookie cutter” highway hotels, you can enjoy this memorable and unique B&B. We highly recommend this one!

History comes alive in a setting equal to none - you almost feel "stonewall" Jacksons presence in the room. Highly recommend you check it out.

We stayed at the beautiful historic Jackson Rose and had the room Stonewall Jackson used as his HQ in 1861. For $110! Period antiques, scrumptious breakfast, wine and beer on check-in. This inn far exceeded our expectations! The best!

After a lengthy trip, we were more than ready for the kind of homestyle hospitality offered by Deb and Phil. They are so congenial and welcoming. The house is beautifully restored and kept, and our breakfast was lovely. If only the town of Harper's Ferry had dining to match this excellent B&B! We highly recommend Jackson Rose with dinner at the Stone Soup Bistro in Shepardstown.
