Built in 1896 as a lumberjack boardinghouse and saloon, the historic Bright Morning Inn is your gateway to exploring West Virginia's fabulous Potomac Highlands. Located in the tiny town of Davis, West Virginia's highest incorporated community, the Inn is only nine miles from Canaan Valley ski resorts and less than one mile from Blackwater Falls state park. The Inn has been completely renovated to accommodate 25 guests in 7 bedrooms and one family suite. Simple and uncluttered, our bedrooms are furnished with country antiques, rustic pine floors, colorful rugs and handmade quilts. During the day our guests hike, bike, golf, climb, ski, fish, hunt and cruise our fabulous and unspoiled country roads. At night they relax in a comfortable common room and explore several excellent restaurants within walking distance.

This is a nice B&B with great breakfasts and a particularly lovely host, Susan. She is extremely helpful and has lots of info on things to do in the area. The breakfasts are simply outstanding. The only downside for us was traffic noise in the main bedroom no 1 as it fronts right onto the road.

Perfect blend of small hotel and B&B

Loved my stay here, wished I could have stayed much longer. All the warm touches (antiques, wood floors) of a B&B, but with private bathrooms. The included breakfast was SO much better than the usual you get in a standard hotel.

Several family members met in Davis at the end of April 2010 and stayed at the Bright Morning Inn. Susan was a wonderful guide with great knowledge of the area, which helped us connect to our roots in West Virginia. The hearty breakfast and the cozy environment was just what we all needed.

A very nice place to stay in Davis, WV
